i really liked this one! seeing how much Chi Jun and Gu Yanzheng loved each other while living their best lives was just 10/10. at times i wondered how Chi Jun could be so oblivious to certain things - but that’s actually a part of his charm. some of the reviews say that they disliked Gu Yanzheng‘s attitude in the sense where he spoiled Chi Jun to a certain degree but i actually didn’t mind how Gu Yanzheng tried to appease his lover all the time. Chi Jun and Gu Yanzheng are both really powerful and great in their own aspects so regardless whether one is too overprotective or too spoilt, they both know each... more>> other’s strengths. However, this is one of those novels where the MC (and ML) have everything work out for them perfectly. AHH!!! i love Lingqi. we don’t see much of him but i really feel for him and what he went through + he’s basically Chi Jun and Gu Yanzheng’s son. in relation to this, seeing the royal family get the punishment they deserved made me so happy!

the only thing about this novel that frustrates me is the ending. THAT ENDING! what even was that? that wasn’t even an ending. that ending reminds me of getting to the last chapter of an uncompleted fanfiction that hasn’t been updated since 2012... the ending was so anticlimactic and i’m just honestly 100% disappointed.  <<less

Xie Yang is super smart and witty, not letting off the people who try and bring his (and his husband’s) career down. He is also very caring towards the ML.

The ML on the other hand is the definition of a tsundere. He’s too shy to admit his love to Xie Yang but he shows it off by being an overbearing president and taking matters into his own hands when Xie Yang is treated wrongly. 

Love the power these two have together and the way their chemistry continues to grow every chapter.  <<less

lolol Xu Ziyue's character as a face-con is actually such a good trait that i've really never thought of before. Also, the fact he continuously falls for the Boss NPC's - who are coincidentally (or maybe not?) always the best looking ones - is super interesting. AHH I seriously love how each new Boss NPC has some traits from the former Boss NPC's, it kinda feels like they're all with Xu Ziyue as he goes into more and more missions.... more>>

Oh this one is just so good. MC (Li Zhao) is an actor that faces many hardships and trials that aren’t really hard because of ML (Yan Ting - CEO of a big company) protecting him. However, Li Zhao doesn’t realise this and thinks that Yan Ting is someone who merely owns some buildings and shops. Li Zhao is poor and admires anyone with money, even (accidentally??) becoming friends with another actor who originally tried to set him up... Lol... more>>

Li Zhao may seem naive or foolish but he really isn’t. Alongside his incredible sweet and natural personality, he can also be ruthless when he wants to - when it usually concerns the people he cares about. Yan Ting is incredibly devoted to Li Zhao and is one-sidedly secretly pining like 90% of the novel. The novel isn’t lying about a “slow to form romance”.

This novel is about Xie Yu (MC) and He Zhao (ML) and about their journey and experiences throughout high school. They put on a facade of being terrible students, however, they are in fact incredibly smart and in some ways, super OP. ... more>>

Not only is the plot simple and easy to understand, the characters are great. XY and HZ have different personalities, but it’s their differences that make them so good for each other. The side characters - mostly classmates - are also very good and give themselves a reputation throughout the novel.

The only real con I’d say that was present in this novel is the reasons for why ZhaoYu became slackers. While I understand their reasons, the way it was resolved was because of a simple matter even though it should’ve been much bigger as the entire plot revolves around these reasons. 

If you’re looking for a light read with simple concepts and enjoyable plot/characters, then this is one of the novels I recommend. <<less
