First of all, I will start out by saying that there are much more than 50 chapters in this novel. I think there's around 250... more>> but don't hold me to that number lol. The MC is a straight man whose best friend was a dick. He would get a new GF all the time and whenever he wanted to dump one, he would confess that he was actually gay and liked the MC. Eventually this led to one of the former GFs cursing the MC to never die a peaceful death and the system decided he was the perfect host. He started transmigrating through worlds and his task was always to die a heroic death. In the first arc the system promises that he will be able to win sitting down. The MC is ecstatic and transmigrates in to find that he is tied down on a chair being interrogated for information. The world setting is almost interstellar but not quite what I would categorize as. The OGMC was a pampered spoiled brat who became a traitor because he was bored. But with the MC here, who actually wasn't even given the information they want by the system, he becomes a hero who never broke under torture. The entire torture scene is livestreamed to the galaxy and the MC is saved by the ML but his body is not in good shape. It is a wonder that he is alive at all and the livestream gives everyone the impression that he is just barely holding on until the empire is saved completely and then his willpower will give out. That was wrong though, since he was rescued and successfully was a hero without dying, the system gave him more time to live and do another heroic act. His body is completely paralyzed with his muscles destroyed. His organs are unable to function without being hooked up to machines, and his vocal cords are completely gone. At the hospital his half brother (?) is jealous of him and bullies him. He is quickly found out by the ML, not really important to the plot but a fun section to read nonetheless. After that the MC is brought to the funeral of someone or maybe the crowning of the ML and blocks a bullet for him as his second heroic act. The bullet freezes his body and he is immediately dead as a hero. The system therefore is able to put him back in his body, something the MC didn't realize until he touches his body and is s**ked in again. He is able to do his third heroic act even as a frozen board by falling out of a truck and blocking a bomb for the ML, which I think was cheating by the author but whatever. The second arc is a modern day dog blood setting. The OGMC was in love the OGFL and as she had a heart disease he decided it would be a wonderful heroic death to donate his heart to her. This was wonderful arc and one of the better in this novel. The MC discovers that he has cancer or something similar and after his check up he not only doesn't cure it, but he makes the doctor promise not to tell his family. The ML of this arc is the brother of the OGFL and he is always jealous of his sister for having the love of the MC so it's really satisfying to read the jealousy. The MC participates in extreme sports throughout this arc too, I don't remember why but there was a reason I think, and that leads to a situation of the ML thinking he's being abused for a good portion. After he discovers the truth he is trying to keep the MC from doing anything dangerous and the MC is beat up by his own brother (the love interest of the OGFL) and his cancer acts up. That's when his family finds out about his cancer and his willingness to give up his heart for the OGFL. The third arc is a fantasy world where the world is being corrupted by demonic energy and if you have even slightly evil thoughts you will be corrupted and lose your light energy. Every being in this world has a faith, whether it's a god or an idea, which gives them light energy to keep them safe from corruption. The OGMC had faith in being first so when he lost to someone else he was corrupted. The MC however has faith in being heroic and giving up his life so his faith never wavers. He takes in others demonic energy to save them and stores it in his body which weakens him considerably. He ends up taking in a daughter too called Pupa and her faith is in the MC which is just too cute! When he dies she loses her mind and is stuck at age 8 I think, not maturing mentally at all. The ML keeps the MCs body and they live in a cave with him for years. The next arc is a modern day where the MC and ML start out both as children who were being trafficked. The MC takes the ML and they escape looking for the police to help them. They both pretend not to be able to speak english and not give a report on what they know about the gang and are sent to an orphanage. Once in the orphanage the MC speaks in perfect english to the policeman once and they end up getting adopted by him. The MC takes this chance to show off his skills and goes to the park to earn money with the ML by playing violin. The ML is in awe of all the skills the MC has and swears that he will one day catch up. They always sleep in the same bed and when the MC tries to get his own room the ML refuses. But when the ML awakens to his feelings he kicks the MC out himself. They become school age and the MC skips grades with the ML. He also starts showing his skills in hacking and becomes an informant for the police. The ML still doesn't know about any of this and is wrapped up in his own problems of is being gay bad and how to make his brother his lover. The MC ends up dying in the arc to save the ML from a bomb I think. The next arc is a cultivation world where the MC is a little mushroom who has gained sentience by cultivating to become an immortal and the ML is a great demon king cultivating the demon way. The MC is heroic the first time by preventing the ML from being a demonic cultivator and interrupting his ascendacne but that causes him to be a demonic cultivator instead. The ML also loses his memories and follows the little mushroom around. The MC tries his very hardest to make the ML cultivate properly but the ML learns from example and the MC isn't exactly the best role model at that point in time. And it doesn't help that they can't dual cultivate if they have such different paths. It's a cute arc but cultivation worlds aren't my favourite in general so I don't have much to say about this one. The next arc is set in an omegaverse where the MC is a respected alpha who is experimented on to become an omega. I don't remember much about this arc other than the fact that the pheromone scents were really funny and I enjoyed the side characters more than the MC and ML this time. After that is a mermaid arc. The MC and one other child are the last dolphins in the world and they are brought to a research facility to help save the species. The dolphins in this world have a unique setting where they can turn into any creature they mate with...don't ask how he turns human lol. The ML is an investor in the research facility and he quickly falls in love with the dolphin, though it is platonic at first. But the two dolphins have such high intelligence that it quickly becomes something more. When the MC helps save the researchers from the institute collapsing and is injured horribly by people who are afraid that he will hurt them, the ML takes him back to his private house to recover. It's at this time that the MC turns into a human for the first time, I think, and he acts just like a dolphin still. He learns to talk slowly, doesn't understand clothes, and constantly wants skinship. It's a setting that I think worked really good in this arc and I enjoyed it maybe more than I should have. There's actually a villain in this arc which is rare in this novel. One of the researchers discovers the MCs abilities and starts experimenting on him so that he will gain these powers as well. He's actually a monster and is disgusting. Later the child dolphin has grown up and follows his brothers lead to become human and gets into a relationship with a different researcher. Except he is the gong and he chases after the researcher wholeheartedly. I ship them so hard! Oh, and the MC and ML als have children in this arc. Or maybe it was the reboot arc because the MC did die and was left underwater in a casket at the end of the arc. The next arc is in a futuristic world with covenators. It was a strange worlds setting, one I haven't seen before but really wouldn't mind seeing again. The idea behind them is that an illness spreads in the world where if you're affected you become almost an AI. You lose all emotions and the ability to express them. You never lie, and you do whatever is said of you without a doubt. Because of this setting, covenanters are treated almost as s*aves with nearly no laws set up to protect them. The MC becomes a covenator who was actually poisoned by his stepmother and stepbrother (half maybe?) because they wanted the business he was set up to inherit. He is sold to the ML and has to keep a straight face at all times because he isn't affected by the settings of the covenanters. It's really funny when they're papapaing lol. The MC also creates a cure for the covenanters and helps set up protection laws. It's a very sweet arc. Or again, maybe the rearc. Because I do think there is one for the covenantor world as well. The next world is set in ancient times and the MC is a god. An evil god to be exact. He is barely alive when he first transmigrates in because gods exist off the faith of their believers. The only shrine left for him is broken down to the point where the small village living in the mountains can't figure out what god he is and worship him as their mountain god. He appears in the dreams of the villagers and with their faith he becomes extremely active for a god and promotes arts and crafts and dancing. Except he can't change his form at all so he's always wearing an animal fur skirt and goblin mask...nothing else lol. So the wind will be slightly too hard and he'll feel a cool breeze down there. The mask is also very funny, it shows the emotions he's feeling- except it's just wrong all the time. It was described very comically in the novel so I imagined it almost like emojis. Anyway, the MC convinces his believers to go down to one of the main cities where he meets the ML, another god. The ML in this world is a righteous god who actually helped in the taking down of the OGMC and the other evil gods. He takes great fun in teasing the MC too, for example lifting his skirt, stealing his mask, etc. The god of love also shows up as he's the OG protagonist's god/friend and he likes to play tricks on everyone. He ties the string of fate between the MC and the OG protagonist but the ML finds out and that doesn't end well for him...The arc ends with the MC sacrificing his life to save his villagers from a mountain fire started by the god of fire. The next arc is the redo of the one where the MC tried to give his heart to the MLs sister. In this world the MC did not die from the car crash that killed him the first time and the ML is much more possessive, not letting him get anywhere near his sister. I liked it, but it was definitely filler fluff. The next arc is a redo of the arc where the MC adopted Pupa. This is one of my favourite redos because of how well the author planned it out. The MC comes back to life 2 years after he died and is portrayed as a saint. Except when he comes out of his coffin, the ML and Pupa are barely surviving, they just sit in the cave all day waiting for the MC to wake up. Because he woke up Pupa gradually heals and they get a little house in the countryside to spend together. After that is a sentinel and guide world. The MC is the guide of course and if I'm remembering correctly is a wanted terrorist when he first transmigrates into the world. He takes the bomb that he was supposed to su*cide in the mall and uses his spirit dolphin (yes, from the mermaid arc) to save everyone and warn the police of the bomb. The ML is a very high level sentinel, a dark sentinel and when he notices that the MC can see his spirit he is immediately attracted. He has never been matched with anyone and just the idea makes him excited. He starts looking for the MC everywhere and I think the MC actually turns himself in after the organization he was in tried to kill him a few times. Under hypnosis he answers the questions that they want to know and it is revealed that he has PTSD (or something similar) and was abused in the orphanage that he lived at before runnning away. The ML decides to take care of him and they get together fairly quickly. I don't remember if they had children in this arc, but I'm leaning towards no. The next arc is cute with the MC being an elf. He is the last pure blooded elf and is introduced with the forest on fire. He runs around and saves the lives of all the animals in the forest with the cost of him getting burnt instead. Luckily he falls into a spring of holy water or is just really good at medicine and is able to recover quickly. His main goal in this arc is to help the spring of life survive and the elves come back to their previous flourishing state. There are 10 children in this world, none of them his per say, but all of them cared for by him until they are born and then they grow up together. They are all born with a defect though because of the demons contaminating the spring of life. The ML is found by him injured in the forest so he takes him home to heal him. He is cursed by the contamination of the devils and has strange black tattoos moving all over his body which he believes makes him ugly, though I still disagree with almost every cliche that says that tbh. Because of both his misunderstanding about his looks and the misconception he forms when he sees the children calling the MC papa, he doesn't even consider expressing his feelings towards the other. Of course, a few chapters later he asks where the mom is and finds out that nope, she doesn't exist. He confesses his feelings almost immediately and is accepted by the MC. The children are kicked out of the house that night and hear their papa being bullied all night as a result which the ML is confronted about lol. The MC ends up going to war with the ML but they turn against the ML because his body holds the key to ending the war if they just kill him. The MC is able to save the ML by papapaing on a horse and against a tree in the middle of the battlefield but he dies from the effort... The next world has a modern supernatural setting where the MC is an evil spirit. He is a ghost pen who survives by absorbing negative energy and can be killed by positive. energy. He is passed down to the ML by his former owner of the MLs father, and is ecstatic because the ML is in no way a good person. But he has a blessing from all the karma they have accumulated and the MC quickly grows weak from being unable to catch the energy before it disperses. He musters up all his strength to start entering the MLs dreams and finds out with almost no effort that lust is also categorized as evil. With his regained strength he is able to materialize a form though he still can't go too far from the pen which is always on the ML. The ML sees his dream lover IRL and does his very best to catch him. The MC is eager to be caught at first but eh blessing still exists and it burns him to touch the ML IRL. That along with the fact that the ML gets very negative very easily when he is not near the MC persuades him to start an abusive plot written by himself. He is caught a few times and chained to a bed a few times, but he always tells the ML that he has a family, he's not gay, and that he doesn't love him, he doesn't even know him. He can escape each time by simply letting go of his human form and becoming a spirit again. The ML finds him in a building fire trying to save the workers inside and chases after him. He is unable to save the MC from dying and watches as he turns back into a pen and shatters in half. He tapes the pen together and carries it in his pocket for a while. The MC ends up getting his strength back when they visit a prison and the fluff begins. The MC even teases the ML at one point by remarking that the other pen in his pocket is very cute and the ML gets paranoid over whether or not he's the wrong species for the MC. The world after this is the redo of the omegaverse and I honestly don't remember a thing about it....After that is the reboot of the mermaid arc where the ML actually has a rebirth instead of the MC going back to before the tragedy. The only problem is that he is reborn after the MC is considered dead and can't save him. He has a dream where the MC is alive banging on the coffin that he is trapped in at the bottom of the sea and goes down with a team of divers to try and see if it was true, after all he'd already been reborn. Maybe he was prophetic too. He releases the MC and is racked with guilt for the rest of his life because he thinks that in his previous life the MC came back to life too and was stuck at the bottom of the ocean in a box and starved to death. It's a very good arc. The next world is another modern supernatural world where the MC is a ghost. He doesn't have an identity at all and steals a body later in the arc. Anyway, the ML is autistic and loves the piano. He also can see ghosts. The MC spends his time teasing the ML and taking care of him in day to day life because all of the servants neglect or abuse him. He teaches the ML how to function in life and makes a program where he recorded his voice giving information on every common sense thing he could think of and gave it to the ML so that he wouldn't feel alone. Then he went and stole a body that had been in a coma for some years and pretended to have amnesia except with the ML. His new family abjected but saw that he was happy so he eventually got his way and his revenge on the MLs family. He exorcizes a lot of ghosts in this arc, and I can't for the life of me remember how he died heroically. The next arc is a beastman world where the MC is a mute fox beastman. And yes, there are still women in this world so he is considered a beastman. In the OG he was a coward who survived by staying away from everything he could but the MC in this life steps up instead. The ML is the chief of the tribe and a lion I think. The MC transmigrates into the middle of an ambush by an opposing tribe and runs away quickly. The ML is disappointed in him until he notices that the surrounding warriors are being picked off one by one by the MC in the trees. The MC takes the ML back to his cave and cooks for him where the ML falls in love. Once the ML is healed he is brought back to the tribe and they ready themselves for an outright war and a long winter. There is a scene where their food storages are burnt and the MC has to come up with a feeding plan. Another where the MC decides to domesticate bison and takes a child bison to live with him. The ML gets jealous and is constantly competing with the bison for the MCs attention. This is one of the longer arcs in the novel and lasts for around 5 years because his task is to grow the tribe. The next world is apocalyptic. Because really, what transmigration novel would be complete without it? The setting is a bit more complicated though. The apocalypse was initiated by a meteor shower on earth where the bacteria brought in infected the humans so that they became zombies or evolved or just plain survived. There are three meteroites (?) that were absorbed by three people. One by the protagonist that OG allowed him to kill the zombie king. One by the zombie king which allowed him to have conscious and be the most powerful being on the world. And one by the lucky bystander, our MC. In the OG plot, the lucky bystander was killed very quickly so that his shard could be stolen but not with out MC! The way the shards were made is that the protagonist was able to kill our MC, our MC can kill the zombie king, and the zombie king can kill the protagonist. If they aren't killed by their respective shards, they are immortal and will revive everytime they die. Because of this the zombie king ML gains interest in the MC and stalks around him. The MC tries his best to keep the ML on a healthy milk only diet and distract the protagonist as they join his group. In the end the protagonist finds out about the zombie king and believes that the MC was deceived. It's a cliche ending but a really creative start to this arc. Next is another redo arc for the very first one. The MC wakes up and is back in the arc where he was tortured. I don't remember where he was put in this arc to be fine but I'm assuming it was before his second heroic death. After that is the redo of the little mushroom arc and the MC is able to dual cultivate with the ML as much as he wants. It is kind of sad, because all of the other cultivators in this world are trying to eat him but its still sweet. I'm sure the ML would rather he have no friends anyway. Then there's the redo of the covenantor arc where the MC cures all of the covenanters and lives his life with his owner who he still obeys to the fullest. A redo of the sentinel and guide arc is next, followed by the elf arc. In the elf arc the MC manages to save the race and watches his children grow up and overcome their defects. He is worshipped as almost a god of elves and the ML is together with him the entirety of his life. The evil pen arc is redone next and the MC doesn't break in two. Or maybe recovers perfectly. Or maybe I got confused n the first arc and just blended the two of them together. And this is the last arc, called the final life. The MC goes back to his OG world and meets the ML officially. He has almost all his memories back by now and I didn't like this arc enough to read it so my review finishes here. Definitely 5 stars though, just from the sheer amount of times I've reread it.
