That felt a bit dumb, but there were enough strong points for me to stay involved and invested. Also thought it would be a R-15, but suddenly there’s a s*x scene. I tend to struggle with het s*x scenes but this wasn’t bad. But yeah decent novel worth reading. <<less

Solid. Does the promise of the beginning carry through the rest of the novel, not exactly, but did I still enjoy it, yes. It’s not perfect but i actually read this twice when i have a ridiculously long list of novels I didn’t finish. For me to finish a novel says a lot. I have to be kept engaged enough that my endlessly frustrating symptom of CPTSD doesn’t cause me to quit reading. I began getting stressed easily & went from being able to read anything no matter the subject (except when animals or children were harmed excessively) to getting tripped up my s*upid drama. But it’s still a really fun read. I love QT’s bc you get so many different worlds & if you don’t like one, it doesn’t last long. I do wish QT novels didn’t all have the same formula for worlds. It’s fine when it’s a world I really like like apocalypse, but after awhile I wish the author would use their imagination and create totally new worlds that haven’t been done before. Like future interstellar world don’t all have to have mechs & aliens don’t need to all be zerg or beast men. On some level I get it bc for shorter arcs the world building is already done. But unless the author is really good, they can start to feel the same. But overall QWTFOD is a fun read and I’ve read in twice now. <<less
