This story is pretty good.  The writing has a relaxing feel to it.  Good to read when you're idle and need a leisure activity.

The continuous strife created by the fl lasts too long and becomes exhausting and monotonous towards the end.  I don't like this fl for this ml.

The parts that are good between the fl and ml are really good.  But there are not many of them.  And the parts that are bad between the fl and ml are really bad; even more bad than the parts that are good and there are too many of them.

This story takes complexities and makes them even more complex.  If that's your thing, then this story is for you.

I can't really say I regret reading this because the jiaoren (merman) was really majestic and pure, but I could have done without it.  I suppose it's worth reading at least once.

Also, this story is tagged as a tragedy but it has a happy ending so that tag should be replaced with 'angst' instead. <<less

The story is good but the amount of content you're able to read in 28 chapters leaves you wanting and I don't think this story is going to be updated any further.  All in all, I think this is it for us english readers.

The first half of the story is better than the second half.  There is a long break from the ml to go into past events.  This was done to clarify things but I found it a little annoying.  The influx of s*upid people in this story is also annoying.  Not to mention frustrating drama that continues to escalate into ridiculousness.

With the inclusion of the side story, this story had a nice ending.  All in all, this story was decent.

The english translations are decent at first but they get better towards the end of the story.

Also, although Blake (the ml for this story) is always jealous and rather possessive, he is not the yandere.  The yandere is the second male lead.     <<less

Rigid aristocratic lifestyles with so much posturing and rules it's exhausting.  So many observances towards politics, formal procedures and etiquette causes a little boredom.  A lot of explanation versus actual story-time or action causes the story to read a little like a textbook.  I imagine an ancient dynasty of China was probably very similar to this.

After long, you grow used to this type of world and the story becomes more tolerable and less dull.  Continue reading it and you grow to like it.

In this story, the author caters and strokes the MC excessively.  The stroking I don't mind but the catering is to the point where the situation or scenario becomes a little unrealistic and dismally predictable.  Many scenes containing fortunate conveniences.  It's like the author has given the MC both the golden finger and perfect luck.... more>>

In addition, I found 2 plot holes in this story.  They're not big so it's not a major issue but still, they're there.

Also, I don't know if it's the author or the english translator but I noticed the word 'exquisite' is used too frequently.  Again, not a major issue, but it stands out.  Overall though, the english translations are good.

All in all, I don't think I really like this author all that much.

So far, all the ghosts in this story are 'pg13'.  Hence, the story is not scary and there is really no danger.  There is also no intrigue with any of the ghosts interactions.  The author doesn't do enough with each little ghost story.  It's basically quickly summarized and resolved swiftly with no looking back.  I noticed the author tends to use this summarization technique during the mcs' acting career too much as well.  This type of writing feels lazy or amateurish; like the author doesn't know what or how to write it.

This story has a strong start.  It's good in the beginning but, by the time you get about halfway through, the story becomes frustrating and tiring.  I am sad to say that I was only able to make it to halfway through chapter 126 before I no longer cared about the MC, ML or this story.

After saying all this, I only have one question remaining...  Can an author fall in love with one of his characters?  It almost feels that way.  But of course I could be wrong. <<less

There was only one aspect of this story that I didn't like.  And that is the mc's relationship with her brother.  They both have a complex for each other and I find this rather disturbing.

This story contains 2 large plot holes.  There is also barely any movement in this story.  It's almost all explanations, theories, observances and reflections.  There are events mentioned in past tense instead of just proceeding with the story with the event taking place.

This story is incorrectly tagged as a 'Josei' story.  It is most definitely a 'Shoujo' story!  A good portion of it also falls in line with the tag 'School Life'.

Another tag missing is 'Handsome male lead'.  The male lead has long red hair, red eyes, red tail and glowing white skin.  The ml has an androgynous face so there are some in the story who will mistake him for a woman.  The image of the male and female depicted as this novels' cover, I believe, are 2 other characters in the story.

This story is cute and sweet at first but that quickly becomes overshadowed by the absurd plot that starts to unfold.  The story, as a whole, lacks in quality.  Much of the information is inaccurate and absurd; creating small plot holes left and right.
