Probably my favorite novel of all times.

Novels with 1000+ chapters tends to drag the plot for me and become boring at some point but this novel is different. The plots starts out with the FL transmigrating only to find herself in a sedan off to marry the ML (decreed from the Emperor) but without the ML present on their marriage ceremony. FL had poison/scar on her face she was able to cure. That same wedding night she saved ML from poison and from there she and ML became mutual partners that benefits each other. ML relying on FL poison skills and FL relying on ML’s status to survive. Both of them eventually starts developing feelings for each other but there is much more to their background than meets the eyes. Is he really just the Duke of Qin and is she really just Han Yunxi whose from a wealthy (medical) family? Read to find out as they fall in love and to unravel their true identity? I personally enjoyed how there is so much going on in the novel and it keeps you on your toes. There are reasons behind everything even the ML’s actions towards the FL. The strange thing is that the grandson doesn’t seem like an idiot to the FL. This is just a brief cap on the intro and the story goes much more beyond than this. There were a few moments I found myself touched and wanted to cry. There aren’t many novels that can make me feel this way.  <<less

If the author went into more detail into the plot and added descriptive martial art scenes this novel would have been a 5/5 for me.... more>> But since this is a short novel the author only kept the main essence of the plot. I really felt that this novel could be adapted into a film or drama. For some reasons it gave me Reign of Assassin (Michelle Yeoh’s film) vibe. I truly wish this wasn’t a short novel. She will become entangled with many (handsome) guys [but ends up with one guy]. The fool facade that she puts on for years will eventually crumble down as the plot progresses leaving her no choice but to stop playing a fool. <<less

Due to the ml’s dislike towards the fl, he switched school before entering middle school. With years of separation, they finally met again in college but things are no longer the same when they were in primary school — the roles has been reversed. The interactions between the leads are quite entertaining from childhood to adulthood. There will be bickering but there will also be fluffy romance too. I love how the system makes the fl manipulate the relationships between the leads and how she tries to survive her fate knowing what happened to her character in the actual novel as a cannon fodder.  <<less

As a former female general that is famous but unknown to people of her real identity, the fl joins the army to become a soldier again with the goal to work her way up quickly in order to avenge her old self. Fl meets the ml who is the general in her camp and someone who she had an entanglement with in her past life (read novel to find out). The romance is slow because the novel focuses on the fl’s growth in her second life and how she eventually seek revenge for her old self. The author is also the same author who wrote The Rebirth of Malicious Empress of Military Lineage and though this novel is second to Malicious Empress (imo), it does not disappoint.  <<less

My favorite arc out of the 4 sisters’ stories. I like the storyline and how the ML and FL met each other. FL is carefree in nature but very smart. In some ways you can say she’s mischievous due to her carefree nature but not in a childish way. She knows when to use her charm to her own advantage. The ML in this novel is probably my favorite out of the 4 books. I won’t discuss about him further in order to not ruin the story. <<less

This is the second arc of Poison Genius Consort focusing on Han Yunxi and Long Feiyi’s daughter. Sadly, I had to mtl this novel (which was comprehensible to understand). But, between the first arc and second arc, I prefer the first arc more. <<less

The story revolves mostly on the cases the FL and ML work on solving together with minor romance, and where I left off reading from where the translator stopped, there has only been small cute moments between the leads.  The  romance is build-up slowly between the leads and besides the interesting cases they solve, I’m curious how our two leads will develop their feelings for one another. The plot and cases are intriguing especially when the FL utilize her talent as a coroner to determine clues to the cases.  <<less
