I'm.... this.. this is the LN that had be going binge-ing. 

MC is a love rival who gets isekai'd into a manga which was super popular in her world. This follows her life from four years old to present, and she is adorable. There are a whole cast of characters, including characters that were't in the manga, like her own elder brother. MC is just trying her best to avoid drama, get good grades, make friends, and finally eat the commoner food she's been craving ever since she got here! (There is also a lot of making fun of being fat in here, played for laughs, in case you need that warning. This is because MC gains weight easily.) There is a blend of her previous life and the life she has gotten used to, and that is honestly amazing, the way this written. 

Translation team is amazing... they even include pictures of the food she mentions. This type of translation is what I have been judging all subsequent translations I've  read to, I think. <<less

i actually found this at the start of my binge, but only decided to read it suddenly seeing it among my numerous bookmarks. AND! i really like it! 

isekai'd capture target is the 2nd prince, who warns his brother that his fiance is a villainess. MC accidentally overhears, and she doesn't want the 1st prince to hate her, so she vows to change herself. the first prince thinks his brother's ramblings are crazy, but is willing to help MC achieve her goal. 

it's quite a sweet ln, as MC also becomes closer to her butler, and is able to have nice banter. just banter though. this is completely MC X fiance, with no harem route or whatever. they feel like real characters, and you can see her change even in her thoughts too. i love her!!!

ML is a pure guy, how adorable. MC is just, doing her best, really. good luck! there is a 9 year age difference they acknowledge, but ML innocently brushes off because his mom and dad were (16/40). only when she mentions heirs does he realise and blushes to high heavens. yes.

i read the manga and got impatient.... hm, well, i really like this ln!! divided into two parts: main story (childhood --> graduation) and sequel (tying up loose ends, MC coming to terms). this story digs into the mentality of being isekai'd, and how far can you truly go with your knowledge, esp since our isekai'd characters take different routes to get what they want.

main story: 

isekai'd MC is a mob chara. she doesn't have a lot of interaction with the main cast, tho, which i like. well, her fiance is the main villainess' brother, so there's that. otherwise, nah. she's also less, dense, and more airhead. a huge plot point is revealed to her at the start, when she was a kid, and when it was brought up when she was a teen, she went "wait,,, WHAT?". if i was reading the ln as it got published, that would be me without bingeing. relatable. 

ML had a bad past(TM). everything he does, it's literally so he can be with MC. he is s*upidly in love. i love it. i love them. GUH!!! they are cute together!!!

there are also a cast of supporting charas that mesh well w the story and the charas. i love.

sequel: 

MC is more active in this part, mostly because we've left the main story behind, and now it's more focused on her. starts off with a trip that is more of a quest to help a noble, ends somewhere by the sea, probably. (i said home stretch, this is still ongoing lmao)

isekai'd MC is a (side) character who finds the villain of the novel collapsed in front of her house, when originally in the novel, he had collapsed next door, in front of the heroine's. how this turns out for her will be debatable. 

besides the heroine and her gaggle of harem boys (who are mostly mentioned now compared to seen, given this is an ongoing 150+ story), MC has her own variety of boys, ohohoho, so this will be more drama than comedy. that and some of the characters are probably quite different from the novel she's read.

isekai'd villainess!! my roots!! i passed this over at first because the title made me think that MC just wanted to exit her death route through marrying down so she won't have to deal w capture targets. in fact, MC is actually in love with a mob character who appeared mostly when you purchased items from his shop.

MC literally asks ML to marry her during their first pre-game meeting. ML... agrees. both of them are actually OP, equipped w various cheats, and their interactions (as of c4) are fluff af. i love. i am thisss close to mtling the novel because they are so cute. ayo, i did it. they CUTE

**MTL WN review: ofc, the wn is less polished than the ln, w some events being moved around, and skills being straight up listed out in the first few chapters. i read for the diabetes, and arc 3 is where it. is . AT. this is where they enter the events of the the game, so they finally, have, daily life to act totally in love.

i think arc 2 (childhood pt2)  dragged from me mostly from me mtl'ing a sophisticated plot. arc 1 was adorable, but arc 2's focus kinda strayed from the impacted plot chara, so maybe there's that. the ending was bittersweet though. i entertained a couple's affection was less pure, but no, it really was sweet. :') (no, this isn't our main couple.) also they were like, 12 in arc 2 so there were comforting each other in headpats n stuff, but there was also hella plot. ayoo. 

heroine starts appearing in arc 3, and, man, my feels. she's kinda suffered., and i love to see her recovering w the people around her, MC included. that girl :(( needs a break

serious ish, mc is not hiding her status, but w an eccentric father, her eccentricities are treated like nothing. people think she's his actual kid. there's some magic, the "black-hair is rare" thing going on, and a mysterious love interest for the duke too. check out the novel summary. it's crazy.

i looked up the reviews on the page and there seems to be notes of "yandere lead", like, in the second half of the novel so if you plan on reading maybe beware. i'll see if the manga handles that better or nah.

a few plot points which some reviews had gripes with,, i didn't see. like the hunting knife thing, omitted. the village tree, manga added some interaction before. MC is still OP, and that time-fairy thing is p crazy, but it's like, PRETTY ART, PRETTY ART, i can forgive most things. (basically)

oh, plot. basically isekai'd bystander MC gets thrown aside to the other kingdom because her childhood "friend" always stuck to her and everyone around them wanted to get rid of her. after meeting an old lady in the woods, learns about magic and comes by a magic bracelet that turns her into a cat. old lady sends her to the capital to learn more about the world, and while MC had sworn to get (petty) revenge on the people who have wronged her, she ends up being pampered by the dragon king who wants to pet cute kitty.

chunnibyou-like high spec MC who really, REALLY, loves the heroine. despite having "knowledge" of the game, she really does just, act normally before the final arcs. she references them honestly, quite rarely. that's mostly because its their childhood (lol). low-key high spec heroine loves MC too. again, siscons. everyone suffers. 

despite that, MC and her fiance are so cute together, i swear. and MC does realise her love for him early on, which is cute and ADORABLE??? AAAAA the fluff... i was missing in my life... here it is... (heroine is not amused.) also, side charas, side charas! come get your super cool side charas! from previous love interests to strict but maternal figures to tsundere not-rivals!

everyone gets their own arc?? which, is good? although, it seems heroine is too siscon for her own good, she is the only one who doesn't end up w anyone, because she is too obsessed. there's no need to feel sorry for her, she really "is a wicked girl when it comes to [MC]". (words from a side chara)

final arc is the school arc, where MC messes up trying to be the perfect villiainess, because of a wrong conclusion of "fate". that conclusion in the prev arc had me cryin. but there is a happy end. THERE IS! or else i wouldnt be here right now. i'd probably be numb for a week from the pain. 

slice of life is relevant. no evil plot to resolve! disparity amongst classes is not something they abolish in the story, though it is discussed.

Translations: smooth job by all translators! tho jumping between them at the start was a bit troublesome, haa..

isekai'd MC wakes up/ gains awareness during confrontation event, and acts differently from plot. condemnation is separate event. as such, she decides the best way to avoid ruin is to be married to the final boss, her ex-fiance's elder brother, the demon king (ML). 

heroine (becomes) typical isekai'd baddie (i feel discouraged knowing this is the norm... srsly...), ex-fiance enters a sort of unstable state as he tries to tear down MC for "abandoning him". MC actually has good connections of her own, side chara who help her and her plans to better the economy.

MC is the fiance, and isekai'd villainess is a ditz. I love her though, so that's no problem. a bit like Bakarina (Idiot Katarina) from "Destruction Flag Otome" Filled with humor as our genius MC interacts with his idiot fiancee. Sweet kids. 

Translations:

From what I understand, "Elsyrtrans" is later rebranded as "Convallaria’s Library". However, the first few chapters are clearly our translator doing their best to translate their first few works. I suggest reading v1c1 to get the feel of what I mean. If the style bothers you, "Kimamani Translate" has c1 to c4 in the chapter list. in v1c5, "Elsyrtrans"'s translation are smoother, and the format is less jarring. After that, the translations are very smooth. <<less

this is also something I read the manga adaptation first. the main story is quite enjoyable, and MC does not have all the memories of the otome characters. the main romance is between her and her fiance, and it is done quite well, I would say. the heroine is just another character, and there is a bit complexity behind the characters MC interacts with. Actually, some of the targets get shafted because they aren't relevant  to MC's story (lol). the extra arc kinda dragged for me, because it was sort of focused on external characters, but was pretty enjoyable nonetheless. ... more>>

MC is the eldest daughter who is subbing for her eloping sister's role of "bridal candidate". Her plan to lay low so she can get back to her beloved garden backfires... because she can't resist the castle's beautiful garden. basically. 

Translation: 

this story has two translators,  "ichigoichiebanzai" (c1- c4), and  "Novitranslation" (c5- c10(fin)) 

"ichigoichiebanzai"'s last upload to the site, according to the group page, was c4. there has been nothing released by the group since. thankfully, "Novitranslation" decided to release the rest. however... the quality of translation had dropped with the continuation. while still understandable, it is considerably choppier compared to its predecessors. so be forewarned. but honestly, the story is super cute! i wish the fluff between MC and her love interest had the same smoothness from earlier chapters;;

 oh yeah, c9 confused me until I realised it was a TIMESKIP HAST HAPPENED!! chapter.

an isekai'd MC who finds herself saddled with a knight after she saves his life during war. 

i put this off mostly because i kinda, just knew i'd like it. i put it off for so long, and now i've read it. damn, i cried. 

the novel is quite concise. there's no intricate backstabby plot or nobility struggle (unless you count a selfish princess' wish to be able to 'choose'. it's a tiny thing that only makes me love the MC/ML pair more, tbh.), because a lot is focused on MC trying to find a place to "belong", and the darkness of being suddenly thrust into a new world. romance is more prevalent in the 2nd part, because there's the "he doesn't know she's a woman" going on.

no love triangle-ish?, because MC is a "one guy" kind of gal, but that one chara. bruh too bad. ah, but MC and ML both were able to see each other clearly, so I'm not that hung up, esp since not-ML was still a bit of a mystery, thanks limitations in POV (lol).

the ending is apparently slightly different from the wn version, but i don't kind how that ended. apparently, it was shorter than the ln's! which, oof. while the ln ended in a nice spot, i'm kinda hung up on side characters not getting more mentions. man, i wanted an epilogue w kids in them ;^; (HAH)

cn isekai/transmigration ln, almost slice of life-esque. slow burn.

MC wakes up to a scenery unlike the modern world. to what extent does she have to bow to her man? as long as she can live a peaceful life, she will strive "to be a virtuous wife".

this is a HIGHLY, HIGHLY rated novel in its genre. tho, unlike many counterparts w OP MC, high level continuous face slapping from the start, and a system of plots that will make your head spin, this is, as ive mentioned, a slow burn. reading this, i realized i categorized it as a slice of life. there is plot armour, and as "slice of life", i don't mind. 

the thing MC has is charisma. that, and a level head. it's only plainly mentioned near the end but MC was a manager in the entertainment industry, hence her knowledge of double-facedness and navigating words lol. she does do a power move at the start, whipping servants who basically slighted her, but after that, she lives quite leisurely. 

those do get their karma, truly, but it's not the main ambition of MC. she doesn't lift a finger. they ruin themselves. the play of "bu zuo, bu shi" (no do, no die). ofc, when they get it, it's super satisfying. 

read a review that felt MC/ML romance was somewhat lacking, and yeah, it ain't a passionate love story (tho they do get passionate, like... a lot. it's r-15 tho, the closest you get is the term "little ML" once LMAO). MC doesn't give her whole heart to him, despite caring deeply about ML, which ML later points out. MC knows she can never be certain that he will not change his mind. so ML spends the rest of their time proving it to her. they are like, who people who have decided to walk the road of life together. y'know, people. 

side characters have people-like motivations! i like em! 

translations: hit and miss. it's good! really is. 

why miss? if you're a newbie to cn terms in general, the first few chapters will be a whole headache for you. translator uses proper terms, such as the difference in "i" when formal and informal (concubine uses "fei", servant "nucai", emperor "zhen" etc), in fact you rarely see "i" being used because everyone is observing protocol. brothers also address themselves in the third person, (chinese grammar correct, weird in eng) translator uses proper terms too. ("this didi"= "this younger brother", "let da ge"= "let eldest brother", etc, etc.) prepare to learn about concubine ranks. 

(others include "furen"= married madams of the house, "guniang"/"xiao jie"= lady, miss, "gong gong"/"ye ye"= probs formal/informal addressing elder man, "jiujiu"/"shushu"= uncle, but difference in maternal and paternal sides. i'm rambling.)

i have a bit of a advantage in knowing some chinese, but geeze, i learned a bunch. 

i can barely remember a hell lot of em. but the story is good. keep their glossary open, for all of our sakes. (first few chapters also have linked explanations, but the romanizations don't appear in the end notes. later chapters include them, thank goodness.)

that said, although the chapters have been edited, there is still misspellings. one that confused me a bit would be a starting villain, concubine (or, "ce fei") "Feng", sometimes being spelled as "Pin"/"Ping". ah, but context clues. you can see it when you see it. 

i navigated thru NU page at the start, but i rec you use their TOC page, because they will sometimes have supplements for the chapters (pictures of objects etc) next to relevant chapters.  <<less
