Observation Record of a Self-proclaimed Villainess’ Fiance

Description

Lady Bertia, who’s become my fiancée, is a bit odd. On our first meeting, she proclaimed herself a villainess noble girl who’s been reincarnated and said that she’s working hard every day to become a splendid flower of evil that’s elegantly put in her place.

I don’t get it.

But she entertains me because I don’t understand.

That’s why I think I’ll observe her for a while.

This is a story of a crown prince who’s so talented and handsome that he’s grown bored of his easy-mode life. A story of this prince observing a self-proclaimed villainess noble girl (who seems perfect at first but is a bit off) who’s become his fiancée as she snatches flags and breaks them into pieces.

In the first few chapters, I found the MC is too eccentric and stupid so I dropped it...

I re-read it again, overlooked her stupid actions and thought about those scenes as cute and funny. And I realised that I really like her.

The story started with hilarious, light-heart and fluffy stuffs at first, but then it got more serious when the MC entered school and interacted with the heroine.

In the end of the story, the MC revealed the reason why she insisted on her family downfall, and I couldn’t hate her... more>> anymore. She’s too kind, and having a big heart. Her reason explained all the reactions she did in the previous chapters, it made me start to re-read the whole story again.

The side story is about the wedding of the MC with the prince, which contains extra sweetness. You can read it with a big smile on your face:)) <<less

Totally recommending it!

This is your typical idiot Villainess daughter reincarnation story except its written from the prince's point of view. It's really hilarious to see other people's views on the villainess. XD The misunderstandings that bertia gets herself into while also being a tsundere is really cute. Although the theme is overdone but this story is well written and and the plot is interesting.

I like this novel.

this novel is different from any novel about reincarnated in an otome game because the story from the fiance point of view not the reincarnated girl. It give fresh atmosphere than other novel which have same theme.

very interesting story. I love the fiance... smart and cunning prince.

EDIT: Friends called me out because I didn't include the fact that the retard is a kid, well, I wouldn't have given this novel a low rating if she was a real kid. But from the looks of it, she's a reincarnated person, a person who had a life and possibly an adult. I'm not buying it.

It's weird. This is the first time that I actually really hate a character.

Bertia, a character that everyone is saying 'cuteeeee' and goes 'KYAA KYAA' over in the comment sections and the reviews. But... more>> for me, she's annoying as hell. Idiotic, and really retarded.

She goes out of her way to be a villainess by getting the support of a lolicon that molested her, I'm sure she's an adult in her past life, how the f**k can you not realize that you're getting molested?! Everything she does is on the purpose of forcibly making the MC fall in love with the Heroine when it's clear to everyone that he got his eyes on her.

The MC is actually pretty decent, he knows that he wants, and teases the retard constantly. He's also pretty awesome with his knowledge and calm personality. A true noble. Unfortunately, he's paired with Bertia.

The other characters is also pretty annoying and practically average. Except for the maids and Zeno, they're pretty chill. <<less

This is sooo unique and adorable~ ❤❤

It's the first time I've read a story like this. Usually, otome game worlds have a female's point-of-view since SHE is the one who transmigrated, so I was really intrigued by the slight change of the norm. Watching the heroine's moves from a second person's (Prince's) POV was also entertaining.

But in the end, I'm still in ch. 8 so I'm looking forward for more chapters, hehehe. ❤

This story is SO. CUTE. The tone actually reminds me of Kenkyo Kenjitsu, but from the male lead's point of view. I can't wait to read more. The translator needs an editor though... There are a lot of little typos that could be easily fixed.

The male lead is sooo manipulative. He is a Chinese trope called "black bellied (fu hei)." He smiles and has a nice veneer but he's actually super manipulative and shady and subjects it to the main female lead! I guess "black belly" not a tag here... more>> since this is a Japanese light novel. Lol. <<less

How should I put this... Ummm~ absurd? But in a good way... The MC isn't the reincarnated person, but her fiancee, the prince.. And instead of scheming alone either to avoid destruction flag or complete the story like other novel, she blatantly told the prince, hey I am a bad girl... Lol really, it's funny and a good read to spend your leisure time...

Definitely recommended.

The story follows from first person point of view of the Crown Prince who is also the Male Lead and his interactions with the Heroine (Villaness?) since childhood. We can still understand the Heroines train of thought and what happens around her (cause MC is a genius omnipotent stalker :P)

The story can be called Unique (at least in the Villaness reincarnation troupe) and you just gotta love the workings of our Hero, the Android prince, who loves to play with his toy.... I mean Fiance :) while secretly... more>> cleaning up her mess from the info she gives him. <<less

This is a cute story of a certain girl, reincarnated as the villainess in otome game with the twist that its the Prince POV.

I liked how they dont dabble much about the daily occurances and mostly the important POV of the Prince.

Only negative is its too short.

Funny. Entertaining. Triggers my younger self.

The genre is a cliche but reading it from the ML's perspective is something new to me.

It's sweet and really worth reading! The FL is also fun with her misunderstandings but thank goodness I'm reading the opposite's version lol.

Spoiler

Prince Cecil's setting is sorta like another certain prince in a well-known otome game villainess based light novel in that they're both overachieving princes (only I believe Prince Cecil may be a bit more calculating and practical minded?) Who find the world gray and boring until they meet their respective "interesting, colorful" villainess girls. I like that while he acts all clever and composed, he seems to be more "alive" with her. In the recent chapters, too, he's treating her less of a "toy" and more of a "fiancee" I think he may have noticed his transition.

Bertia herself is not so much as a villainess as simply a childish girl who easily shows her emotions and is just so cute it's no wonder her friends want to dote on her, and ber fiance just can't get enough of her antics.

The heroine is almost a plastered cast. In these villainess stories of otome games, there are only 2 main paths so far: They become friends or the heroine hates the "villainess" with all her being. In fact, if triumphant, expect her to always be a step behind a main target/the intended fiance/a whole group of boys, looking all taunting yet "pitiful victim that needs to be protected".

I'm a little worried about what heroine is implying and villainess is hinting... will something bad happen to Cecil if he doesn't end up with the heroine? Makes one want to use a sledgehammer to destroy that "preordained fate" that the heroine is the ultimate person to love. I want to believe (and I actually do; it's just that they're all making me uneasy) that Bertia and Prince Cecil end up together. The heroine can just cry tears nonstop and bite onto her handkerchief in annoyance.

The fact that the protagonist is the fiancée and not the reincarnated person, gives off a refreshing feel.

I'm actually kinda tired of this kind setting but they manage to make a twist out of it. I am glad that somebody dared to make the prince the protagonist at first I questioned its peculiar nature and thought its just some poor attempt to be creative but I stand corrected.

Not fully translated yet but still worth re-reading after finishing. The characters are awesome, especially the ML. It's the tried-and-true dense-cute-villainess-insert story... but from a super calm, cool, and competent ML's perspective. And he's totally into the MC--the romance and story are super cute!

It's a pretty interesting story, since we see the flip-side of the common trope - reincarnated villainess in an otome game - from the perspective of the prince (fiance). Overall, the villainous isn't particularly unique from the archetype of the reincarnated villainesses, but the perspective of the fiance really does make the story more interesting. I think it's one of the few that really highlight how eccentric the the villianess from an outsiders point-of-view. And luckily for our protagonist, Bertia, her fiance is finds it endearing.

I'm in line with the... more>> Android Prince, Cecil; I'm definitely looking forward Bertia will continue struggling, it's quite cute.

Overall, recommended for all its fluff and cuteness, and especially if you're looking for something somewhat different in the "villianess reincarnated in an otome game". <<less

Cute.
Male POV. (This one is rarely seen, especially in the field of romance)
Ah... a typical genius yet dense ML and an idiotic MC?
It's very fun to read though. If you want some increase in sugar level, then you can give this novel a try. I think it's very unlikely to be disappointed.

As always, my reviews may contain slight spoilers, so avoid this if you want to read this with a fresh perspective. I may or may not continue to read this, and my rating might or might not change in accordance.

For the same reasons Mikleo already stated in their review, I'm also rating this a bit lower. Despite the fact that this takes place from the Prince's POV and not the reincarnated noble vilainess, the characterization, plot, misunderstandings, and abundant idiocy is nothing new. I'm not saying this trope can't be... more>> done well; in fact I loved Destruction Flag Otome and Tensei Oujo.

I couldn't bring myself to love any of the characters. The translation is slightly hard to read, but it's the writing direction and the plot that mainly accounts for my rating. I would've rated this a 3 stars if I haven't already read more amazing WNs/LNs out there. My own preferences of characters has created a thin line between idiotic characters I adore, and idiocy that I can't stand.

All in all, if you really love this trope and have more patience for stupid main characters, perhaps you'll like this. Otherwise, there're other novels among this trope that's more worthy of your time. <<less

Your typical isekai story with an adorably dense, stupid yet wholeheartedly good natured female MC (who attempts to fulfill her role as a villain and fails spectacularly) but the difference is, it's told in the POV of the male and it is so ridiculously wholesome that you can't read this without a smile on your face. The novel itself turned out to be surprisingly so diabetic and sweet, I think I need to see a dentist now for cavities or get a check for high blood sugar. Despite it being... more>> so short, there is so much growth in the main character (male MC). I like that that the author didn't simply sweep things under the rug and actually took the time to explain the male MC's reasoning behind his actions and thoughts. It makes his efforts feel not at all contrived or forced. The male MC is so cunning, smart and perceptive that he does not waste his time in useless misunderstandings or bulls**t drama. What you end up having is a super fluffy romance tale.

I recommend reading the translations from c1-4 by Kimamani first (the translation done by this group is high quality so you should read what this group has translated first)

then read 5-9 by Elysrtrans (caution: It's lower quality and does make understanding some of the points and ideas confusing but it's the only translation we have of the novel. However, I feel that due to the low quality of translation, some ideas and concepts are lost in translation)

then read 10+ by Convallaria's Library (high quality, huge improvement).

10/10 would recommend this for isekai lovers. I also recommend the manga version since the art is really lovely and does a good job portraying the expressions of the characters. <<less

Refreshingly semi-original deconstruction of the overbloated genre of otome-reincarnation.

Really well paced and gives the feeling of the autor having a clear roadmap for what they were writing as opposed to the meandering that's inevitable to occur with how webnovels are typically produced.

I just binge read the chapters in the last... half hour of avoiding writing a paper, and I gotta say: the low reviews are right, the main female is a little grating (she's so... eager to please), there's the thrill of a different perspective and a female lead who is super into her role (#iwontbea3rdratevillainess!!1!) but that doesn't cover up for the fact that there is little character development and it's a bit forced. Still, it grows on you, and if you can ignore the need for editing are looking... more>> for a quick, mindless read to enjoy, look no further! The FL is no stressed out and plotting Eliza (Noble Girl Villainess is a slower, but more engaging read for sure) but her antics are funny and engaging enough for a quick read. MC is OP as well, but eh, it suits the quick story. <<less

Do you think this is just like the other villainess reincarnation stories where the villianess tries to prevent her destruction end but somehow attracts all the love interests hearts? Then be surprised because this is nothing like that!

Just like Mary from Albert Ke no Reijou wa Botsuraku wo go Shomou desu, what the villianess really aims for is getting her destruction end.

What makes this story particularity unique is how this story is actually being told from the point of view of her fiance, the prince. Although the villainess does interact... more>> with the other love interest, it isn't in the way you'd expect it to be. Come follow the prince as he amusingly watches his silly fiance unknowingly derails from her original path to destruction. <<less

I totally recommend this!!!

it's both cute and refreshing. Although it's the same old reincarnated as a villainess into an otome game but the plot and the narrating is very unique. In addition the character of both protagonists are not force as well.

in short, it's a very enjoyable novel.
