Observation Record of a Self-proclaimed Villainess’ Fiance

Description

Lady Bertia, who’s become my fiancée, is a bit odd. On our first meeting, she proclaimed herself a villainess noble girl who’s been reincarnated and said that she’s working hard every day to become a splendid flower of evil that’s elegantly put in her place.

I don’t get it.

But she entertains me because I don’t understand.

That’s why I think I’ll observe her for a while.

This is a story of a crown prince who’s so talented and handsome that he’s grown bored of his easy-mode life. A story of this prince observing a self-proclaimed villainess noble girl (who seems perfect at first but is a bit off) who’s become his fiancée as she snatches flags and breaks them into pieces.

This is your typical idiot Villainess daughter reincarnation story except its written from the prince's point of view. It's really hilarious to see other people's views on the villainess. XD The misunderstandings that bertia gets herself into while also being a tsundere is really cute. Although the theme is overdone but this story is well written and and the plot is interesting.

I like this novel.

this novel is different from any novel about reincarnated in an otome game because the story from the fiance point of view not the reincarnated girl. It give fresh atmosphere than other novel which have same theme.

very interesting story. I love the fiance... smart and cunning prince.

This novel is quite unique despite having an overly used plotline (the MC transmigrating into a game and becoming the villainess)

Usually, otome game worlds have a female's point-of-view since it's the MC who transmigrated, so I was really intrigued by the slight change of the norm. Watching the heroine's actions from a second person's point of view (ML) was quite entertaining.

Here you can see a very naive, stubborn, but sincere and lovable MC (by the novel world's standards) paired with a dark lord type ML that always has a... more>> smile plastered to his face. ? You'll enjoy this story if you want a light read without too much serious drama. <<less

This story is SO. CUTE. The tone actually reminds me of Kenkyo Kenjitsu, but from the male lead's point of view. I can't wait to read more. The translator needs an editor though... There are a lot of little typos that could be easily fixed.

The male lead is sooo manipulative. He is a Chinese trope called "black bellied (fu hei)." He smiles and has a nice veneer but he's actually super manipulative and shady and subjects it to the main female lead! I guess "black belly" not a tag here... more>> since this is a Japanese light novel. Lol. <<less

How should I put this... Ummm~ absurd? But in a good way... The MC isn't the reincarnated person, but her fiancee, the prince.. And instead of scheming alone either to avoid destruction flag or complete the story like other novel, she blatantly told the prince, hey I am a bad girl... Lol really, it's funny and a good read to spend your leisure time...

Let's be real, if this was told from Bertia's point of view I would have torn my own eyes out. Clueless protagonists annoy me terribly, and she is just... On a whole new level. Combined with the stuttering, nigh constant tears, obliviousness, and general weakness etc, while she is cute if it was all 19 chapters With just her and her thoughts I would have quit sooo early.

Thankfully, this is told from the prince's point of view. So all the annoying day to day bits are skipped, thank you lawd.... more>> Thus, this is funny as hell and I cried at their wedding. Would recommend if you want fluff with only minimal annoyingly shoujo female protag. By minimal I mean that while she's there in the story often, we're not bombarded with her every act so by the end I was only slightllyyy skipping her dialogue but not totally turned off by her. The prince's recall and viewpoint on her actions make the scenarios enjoyable without that shoujo cringe.

Big thanks to the translator who did a great job! <<less

As always, my reviews may contain slight spoilers, so avoid this if you want to read this with a fresh perspective. I may or may not continue to read this, and my rating might or might not change in accordance.

For the same reasons Mikleo already stated in their review, I'm also rating this a bit lower. Despite the fact that this takes place from the Prince's POV and not the reincarnated noble vilainess, the characterization, plot, misunderstandings, and abundant idiocy is nothing new. I'm not saying this trope can't be... more>> done well; in fact I loved Destruction Flag Otome and Tensei Oujo.

I couldn't bring myself to love any of the characters. The translation is slightly hard to read, but it's the writing direction and the plot that mainly accounts for my rating. I would've rated this a 3 stars if I haven't already read more amazing WNs/LNs out there. My own preferences of characters has created a thin line between idiotic characters I adore, and idiocy that I can't stand.

All in all, if you really love this trope and have more patience for s*upid main characters, perhaps you'll like this. Otherwise, there're other novels among this trope that's more worthy of your time. <<less

Definitely recommended.

The story follows from first person point of view of the Crown Prince who is also the Male Lead and his interactions with the Heroine (Villaness?) since childhood. We can still understand the Heroines train of thought and what happens around her (cause MC is a genius omnipotent stalker :P)

The story can be called Unique (at least in the Villaness reincarnation troupe) and you just gotta love the workings of our Hero, the Android prince, who loves to play with his toy.... I mean Fiance :) while secretly... more>> cleaning up her mess from the info she gives him. <<less

A very satisfying otome villainess novel, if you’re a fan of death flag otome you’ll be a fan of this one as well. Bertia is incredibly similar to Bakarina, the oblivious, dense but means well kinda MC and if you enjoyed Katarina and Jared’s relationship (bored prince x s*upid but cute and interesting MC) you’ll enjoy this one immensely. It’s a very cute story and I loved how it followed the ML instead of hearing the MC’s thoughts. The story is a little more fine tuned than Death flag otome,... more>> we only see the relationship between her and the prince so all of Bertia’s other accidental seductions (her friends, her familiars, the queen, etc) are off screen and happen in passing. By following the prince’s POV, it allows Bertia to be dense and cute but dumb without grating on your nerves.

now for the bad; everyone’s characterization is pretty stagnant beside’s the prince’s “too OP so now I’m bored but she’s interesting” —> “I love her, she’s mine, don’t get in my way!”. All the friend characters don’t have much screen time either, they’re mentioned to help the plot/main characters and are all basically paired off in a paragraph dedicated for each side character (basically in 2 chapters, everyone’s paired up). It’s not badly done, just don’t look for anything truly deep amongst the friend group. Bertia is s*upid (but cute) from beginning to end so make of that what you will. Her insistence to follow the “game plot” can also get annoying, since it’s pretty clear the prince is wrapped around her finger.

Overall, it’s a good story that is very fluffy and even though the MC has characterization that could get annoying, it’s thankfully held off by following the prince’s POV and ending at a satisfying length. Please give this a read. <<less

This is a cute story of a certain girl, reincarnated as the villainess in otome game with the twist that its the Prince POV.

I liked how they dont dabble much about the daily occurances and mostly the important POV of the Prince.

Only negative is its too short.

Funny. Entertaining. Triggers my younger self.

The genre is a cliche but reading it from the ML's perspective is something new to me.

It's sweet and really worth reading! The FL is also fun with her misunderstandings but thank goodness I'm reading the opposite's version lol.

Spoiler

Prince Cecil's setting is sorta like another certain prince in a well-known otome game villainess based light novel in that they're both overachieving princes (only I believe Prince Cecil may be a bit more calculating and practical minded?) Who find the world gray and boring until they meet their respective "interesting, colorful" villainess girls. I like that while he acts all clever and composed, he seems to be more "alive" with her. In the recent chapters, too, he's treating her less of a "toy" and more of a "fiancee" I think he may have noticed his transition.

Bertia herself is not so much as a villainess as simply a childish girl who easily shows her emotions and is just so cute it's no wonder her friends want to dote on her, and ber fiance just can't get enough of her antics.

The heroine is almost a plastered cast. In these villainess stories of otome games, there are only 2 main paths so far: They become friends or the heroine hates the "villainess" with all her being. In fact, if triumphant, expect her to always be a step behind a main target/the intended fiance/a whole group of boys, looking all taunting yet "pitiful victim that needs to be protected".

I'm a little worried about what heroine is implying and villainess is hinting... will something bad happen to Cecil if he doesn't end up with the heroine? Makes one want to use a sledgehammer to destroy that "preordained fate" that the heroine is the ultimate person to love. I want to believe (and I actually do; it's just that they're all making me uneasy) that Bertia and Prince Cecil end up together. The heroine can just cry tears nonstop and bite onto her handkerchief in annoyance.

The fact that the protagonist is the fiancée and not the reincarnated person, gives off a refreshing feel.

I'm actually kinda tired of this kind setting but they manage to make a twist out of it. I am glad that somebody dared to make the prince the protagonist at first I questioned its peculiar nature and thought its just some poor attempt to be creative but I stand corrected.

Not fully translated yet but still worth re-reading after finishing. The characters are awesome, especially the ML. It's the tried-and-true dense-cute-villainess-insert story... but from a super calm, cool, and competent ML's perspective. And he's totally into the MC--the romance and story are super cute!

It's a pretty interesting story, since we see the flip-side of the common trope - reincarnated villainess in an otome game - from the perspective of the prince (fiance). Overall, the villainous isn't particularly unique from the archetype of the reincarnated villainesses, but the perspective of the fiance really does make the story more interesting. I think it's one of the few that really highlight how eccentric the the villianess from an outsiders point-of-view. And luckily for our protagonist, Bertia, her fiance is finds it endearing.

I'm in line with the... more>> Android Prince, Cecil; I'm definitely looking forward Bertia will continue struggling, it's quite cute.

Overall, recommended for all its fluff and cuteness, and especially if you're looking for something somewhat different in the "villianess reincarnated in an otome game". <<less

I actually first started with the manga but, the manga was not updating for a while so I looked for the raws. Then I found this!

so I recommend this novel if you like

  • goofy shenanigans
  • Male lead not falling in love at first sight
  • character development
  • a dumb Main character but, has a reason
  • multiple reincarnated characters

One of the best otome game type series I've ever read

Really enjoy the plot & the cute & sweet romance in this story??

If u can just ignore the s*upidiness of the oblivious villainess FMC then u'll find that the story is quite good

... more>> In my opinion if compare to Bakarina, this FMC is better bcos she love her fiance the crown prince since the start.

Eventhough she tried to hide it her actions were sometime obvious that even people around her knows that she really love him.

And dont worry, the rest of the characters are normal & can think rationally

Especially the super op prince which is flawless & can do anything easily

The FMC work hard to be a first class villainess & head to ruin bcos of her love for him

After finishing the novel I somehow understand the reason why she had to act like that

I think it's bcos she died around middle school that she's a bit immature & adorably clumsy.
She can't think of too complicated things & her scheme always end up turn out being seen as an act of goodwill, well maybe its bcos she's a honest girl inside and terrible at acting

&

Spoiler

Heck the prince actually have too many destruction/bad/ruin end which was just second to the villainess

If my middle school little sister was in her place she will have no other choice but to made the same s*upid conclusion.

[collapse]

Well all end well in the end as she's being supported from the shadows by others & the super op cunning prince.

Ooh & at the end

Spoiler

I pity their daughter

?

Really recommend u guys to try this story ?? <<less

Refreshingly semi-original deconstruction of the overbloated genre of otome-reincarnation.

Really well paced and gives the feeling of the autor having a clear roadmap for what they were writing as opposed to the meandering that's inevitable to occur with how webnovels are typically produced.
