IBU, which stands for the International Bitterness Unit, is used by beermakers to measure the bitterness of beers. Most people can perceive the bitterness starting at 12 IBU.

For Chen Zui, Zhen Tian is his measurement of sweetness.

12 units of sweetness just so happen to be enough to make him intoxicated.

In short: Beer is bitter, but you are sweet.

The female lead works in the beer industry, and the beer-drinking male lead works in the media.

A short sweet story.

This book is another example of why experience matters. I may not like all their books but it's undeniable that Chestnut's writing is impeccable with grabbing the reader's interest and maintaining it without needing (too) much drama, although I do have some choice words for child situation. The dialogue in this novel is top notch, along with thee characters' creation and personalities, which are highly detailed and realistic. If you're looking for slice of life romance with two leads who keep it straight that isn't boring, this is it.

Cons: my... more>> only gripe is the perspective of Chinese novels regarding "adoption". The nephew is blood related but the concept of adoption is relatively the same in the sense that the ML as the uncle adopted him. In the same sense, I'm really sick of all these Chinese novels and perspective that doesn't take adoption seriously. Adoption is the equivalent of birthing a child; that is your child now. The uncle is not at fault here but I am tired of the rhetoric surrounding him just bc this child is not "his child" in EVERY FKIN CHINESE NOVEL. To be fair, I do think chestnut is trying to speak against it. I'm just tired ok.
Spoiler

EVERYONE at some point is always concerning themselves and talking about how this nephew / adopted child is sooo different from being his own child with his wife. Etc. LIKE. what. Stop. Just fking stop. Society like this needs To stop. this is why children from past marriages get left behind!!. this is why there are so many goddamn novels in Chinese that they think the adopted child is disposable or is always cast as the villain bc you don't take THE CONCEPT OF ADOPTION SERIOUSLY!!!!! AHHHH IM ABOUT TO SCREAM. I AM TIRED OF READING ABOUT CHILDREN WHO ARE. NOT BLOOD RELATED AS BURDENS TO TTHE "blood family".

Even the MC's family does this. Understandably at the start but ngl when they heard that the nephew decided to go w his father, they were like well it would just naturally be this way as you guys will also have children later. I don't care what happened in the sense of if the nephew left to go w his father in the sense that I'm mad, but I'm tired of the fact that this rhetoric can be even utilitized to some "logical argument" for the nephew to leave and be accepted to leave them. It pisses me off. I've read this burden concept too many times for nonblood related children in china. I don't care if it's realistic!! I'm sick of it society and I'm ranting!!! /Rant

Yes the fact that this pisses me off means Chestnut's writing got me. I am still kinda mad that they don't seriously have a conversation w the nephew talking about how he is no different from any child he will have, esp after the nephew runs to the tv station. It's just brushed over. no wonder the kid Has grown up so fast bc no one is taking thee time to see that his emotions are Checked and that he has a good emotional wellbeing. no one is telling him he can just be spoilt and be a child just as good as if he wasn't the nephew. its Killin me. I feel like the nephew was just used to add drama without taking care of him actually T-T. That's 1 star off for me ngl. The depth isn't there for the poor kid.

Also I had to stop reading the extras bc I can't believe who chestnut shipped the nephew with.... Why does she like these made for tv crazy girls? Why call him to help her out? Call the f*cking police braindead plot.
