Got bored, so I figured I'd make a list of some of my favourite novels. They're not ranked in any particular order, though the ones I like more will probably be nearer the beginning of the list. ... more>>

Most of these novels will no doubt be familiar, it's unlikely for there to be any hidden gems here. This isn't really meant to be a list of recommendations, more of just me wanting to put some thoughts down regarding novels I like. That being said, if you want to read them (if you haven't already) because of this list that's your prerogative.

I just noticed the somewhat obvious lack of KR and JP novels. Nothing against them, I just don't like the endings for most KR novels, or I just haven't finished them. I'm not that big a fan of JP novels either, dunno why.

A small generic reminder: This list is just my personal opinion, I cannot guarantee that all (if any) of these are any good, and I encourage anyone who decides to read them to form your own opinion on them. <<less

I've made this to keep track of those I'm currently reading. You can still use it as a reference though. I guarantee that what I'm reading is currently the cream of the crop of the current translation era. Novels with a good MC and story-telling (my opinion)

My preference: Meandering slow-burn novels like Mao Ni's stuff get extra points. Harem/romance/face-slapping power fantasies get minus points. Completed novels get bonus points, and terrible endings get points knocked off. Also plus points for character building friends/family/enemies and down points for solo yolo.

CN and JP novels I really enjoy. Novels that go an extra mile to build up the story, the world, the characters and the progression.

- I eat anything no romance, straight, BL, GL. As long as it is good story why not? I ship anyone as long it is cute!

- The MC is I think funny, decent, or good. The side character is not too flat. I avoided pe*vert protag, aiming for harem is a big no, especially slaving someone for pe*vert desire is a no go.

- Story is good, I prefer slow paced, or while MC is gone world still continuing not revolving MC.

- I prefer slow paced romance or romance as sub-plot, or no romance at all, If its twisted but interesting I will add it. If its healthy relationship I will add it too. Yandere or Possesive character is good if its been used well?

- I will give short description each novel (beware of spoiler), and what I think about it.

*Not in order, I like everything, so everything is 'number 1' /laughs

*Note: I might dropped in the middle / stalling the novel, but I put it in here because I like the premise after all, please read the review to know which I dropped and why. I will put dropped tag + make in lower.

*Note: I dislike when it is all serious and tense suddenly romance pop up. I wont dislike if the novel stated it, or the entry is natural, but forced suddenly out of nowhere I dislike it. It is like a pinapple pizza, when you are expecting pizza but suddenly there is a pinapple on it. You like pinapple, but not at your pizza. <<less

My list of favorite novels. I'm very picky with my reading, excluding (hopefully) all harem, josei, smut and yaoi. Reverent Insanity is not here simply because I didn't like the MC and ended up dropping it because of that (at around chapter 200). Otherwise the writing of the novel is excellent.... more>>

When I say I can't vouch for chapters after X, it means I haven't finished the novel. My library organization skills are very messy and sometimes it just happens that I lose all my bookmarks and saved books. Most novels have terrible endings, so it's not a point I value much anyway. <<less

How I spent my time in the last 4 years.

These stories captured me, and I keep up with them, think about them...laugh, cry, tear my hair out...They make me think I want to put them in my "FOREVER Overthrowing My Heart" list...but there's something missing, maybe? And am I willing to be okay with that? Should I put them in FOREVER Overthrowing my HEART or not...... more>>

But I have a soft spot for them and don't want to say that I don't love them...but...eeehhhh, sometimes it's just eeehhhhh....but I love them...sigh.
