Xie Chi is a patient with multiple personality disorder. On the surface, he is educated and gentle but the secondary personality is cold, ruthless, and powerful, with explosive strength.

Xie Chi can never fall in love with others because the secondary personality is his boyfriend.

Xie Chi’s only dream is to one day embrace his lover.

In order to realize his dream, Xie Chi willingly bound with the Horror Movie Actor App. The app regularly releases horror movie notices such as Spirit in Red Clothes, Zombie Lovers, 1552 Haunted House, etc…

Selected actors will be placed in a real horror environment to survive.

On the first day of filming, the first male lead with a dirty personality blocked Xie Chi in the corner. “Follow me and I’ll help you be the second male lead.”

Xie Chi smiled softly and shook his head. “That isn’t enough.”

The first male lead was dumbfounded.

It was amazing!!!!

I am literally in love with this story. Xie Chi is one of the smartest character I ever ever read. Xie Xinglan also the most caring man ever. The story not give you time to be bored. There is always mind blowing things happening. So this makes you think that the writer constantly researched the novel's every topic well before writing it. You should read it. NO YOU HAVE TO READ IT. &Lt;3 <3

I had to write a review for this book. The main characters are absolutely amazing and the plot was so riveting. There are no lags in the story where you feel bored, the MC is really smart to the point I'm constantly thinking of how smart the author is to be able to write such a character and such a plot. The ML is so good, the two makes so much sense together. The other characters who are the MC's friends were written so cutely. The villains are great, most... more>> are not developed but it doesn't effect the story. The villains also make sense and honestly each arc was so exciting to read. I would 10/10 recommend this to anyone who loves a smart and capable MC and great plot. Also I forgot to mention but the translator did such a good job, thank you rainbow turtle and chrysanthemum garden. <<less

Love it!!! ♥♥♥

I hate horror genre, to be honest. Because I am a coward. I decided to try this novel because I was bored and don't have anymore reading materials to read and then... THIS ONE IS SURPRISINGLY AMAZING!

No wonder the rating is high 👍🏻

I once belittled the interaction between MC and his "other personality" lover. I thought it would be too sweet and sticky and unreasonable that it will be disgusting. But turns out, it wasn't.

I think giving MORE than 5 stars is totally worth it!

Best best best!

Good thing needs to be repeated 3 times. Don't shy away because you saw the MC like his own personality. I thought I would be disturbed by this but it is actually new and unique. Every arc is mysterious with seamlessly flowing writing. It keeps you hanging and the ending of every arc is always unexpected.

The MC is one of the best MC I have ever read. He is a smart and narcissist but he is not arrogant.

Rating: 5/5- Brilliant! Awesome! Unforgettable! One of my favorite MCs of all time!

Firstly, rainbowturtle is my absolute favorite translator and I've read almost all of their translations and loved it! SMAA is another legendary read to add to my completed list and kudos to the excellent translation!

Now onto the story- this novel is fast paced, intelligent and intriguing and you don't feel bored with any of the arcs. Each arc grows smarter and more interesting with every page and so many wonderful ideas are conveyed with analogies and the horror... more>> scripts. It really comes across well. I liked the world that the app is built within and the ghost audience was really fun.

The app was portrayed as quite fair which I really liked- it wasn't a cheap system type thing and the exchange of your life for your greatest desire was fair in a way.

I really loved the MC. He was calm and level headed and he never loses sight of what really matters or what he really is working towards. He also has a humane side but keeps his selfishness when he needs to. Both the beautiful and ugly of humanity can be seen in him and it was not overly oppressive or distasteful.

The relationship between ML and MC fits into this story really well. It's not fluffy but rather it's beautiful and dark, honest and raw. I loved them both. The romance isn't a big part of the story in terms of actual interaction but this is important to the plot and is written well with a great ending. Also you feel that the ML is also a character even without a corporeal body. Mentally though- he's present 100%.

The secondary characters were lovely, especially the friends that the MC made. I loved Ren Ze, Lu Wen and Yan Jing, Shen Yi and Su Qing (even though Shen Yi is an as*hole to Su Qing in my opinion and Su Qing deserved way better).

Almost all the arcs had face slapping and some of the villains really did think too much of themselves but were quite s*upid. I think irrespective of many scenes being quite OP there is a sense of mystery and crisis and I didn't feel like the MC would win easily even if I was confident in his ability to overcome.

I have become an avid horror reader and it's mainly for books like these. This book balances all the elements of a well written horror that isn't too much or too little. This novel really steps up the horror genre and it was so well worth each page! Give this a go because you won't regret it! <<less

I couldn’t resist. I swear I really couldn’t. I just have to give it a review guys.

My mentality when giving a review was either finish the novel before giving it a review or if it is absolutely terrible, post one ahead of time before letting yourself suffer.

the twists in every instance man, especially the third (movie. Ehem you’ll get it) IT’S SO DANG GREAT. It. Gave. Me. Goosebumps.

Horror+Action packed one with romance on the side. DEFINITELY superb!

This is a very unique horror BL novel!

Instead of the typical survival games for the sake of going back to the real world, the survival games are a way for players to earn points to fulfill their wishes. The survival games are also turned into horror movies that are watched by ghost audiences. The idea of turning survival games into a points-earning system to grant wishes is very new and interesting.

In addition to the unique plot, the MC and ML are also very unique. The MC is a cold, calculating... more>> man while the ML is a sub-personality created by the MC with strong fighting powers. This means that there is early romance and the MC is already in love with his sub-personality, ML, from the very beginning. The goal of the MC to joining the survival games is to build a body for the ML. All of this is very fascinating and different from the typical survival game BL novels that are out there.

Overall:

The ending is a happy ending with extras that conclude the main story. I really enjoyed reading this story! <<less

If you're going to read this prepare your brain because it will hurt. It's confusing at so many times. I applaud the author for the creativity in each game even though sometimes my mind can't keep with it. The main character Xie Chi is kinda OP but at the same time, not really because he always finds the answer on the last minute after he suffers and there are many times he has been wrong. Overall it's a good story and all the characters I rooted for got the endings... more>> they deserve. <<less

5/5 stars!! I highly recommend.

This novel has it all: romance, mystery, horror, etc.

It has such a well woven plot, interesting arcs and a cute CP in the middle of that. This story left me at the edge of my seat and you need to give it a shot.

I'm going to have to look up the author's other works now, bye~ :)

Just one word BEAUTIFUL!!
The novel is a series of 'movies' by 'actors' which are like instances. Almost all of them gives us horror-ey vibes. The movies are well thought out and the plot keeps you on the edge of your seat!

The novel is concentrated on the plot with a little romance on the side.

Recommended for people who likes novels like Earth is Online, Dont pick Boyfriends From tr*shcans (there is an arc in it similar to this).. Etc

Ps: I loooove the side couple.

Another story where the the main couple are SUPER OP but it doesn't take away anything from the story at all!!! I just want my precious side characters that I fell in love with to survive that's all (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

A very cute story! It has a lot of good horror and suspense elements within each arc that definitely make a power outage at night spooky. The ML who technically doesn't have his own body actually feels just as present as the MC. Overall a fun read.

i didn't expect him to be a demigod, I only thought he would be related to that demigod, si nian but unexpectedly, he's really si nian and xie chi's 'dual personality' was actually si nian's wish thirty years ago to accompany him and love him, cause si nian only trust and love himself. Holy shit, this is taking narcissism to the next level.

but xinglan really guarded him for two lifetimes, and that pair of silver rings were actually created by him also ah TAT come here and let's cry together QAQ

Finished this thru MTL. It was pretty fun, I had a some "haha", and plenty of "huh?" moments. The plots were unexpected but logical thru the power of protagonist filling them in. There were some characters I wanted to get some screentime. I also got pretty emotional at the end and I liked it very much. Would have liked it better if there was more extra chaps just 'cuz I like the 2 ships. There were some loose ends but it's a good read all in all.

First Impression

Concept is so fresh and intriguing! Two personalities in the same body? Strange, but not unheard of. Two personalities in the same body in a long-term, domestic relationship together?... ok, I need to read to know how it works.

The Plot

  • Overall plot is straightforward, except for some twists in the end that I didn't really like (felt it was unnecessary even though it was adding to the backstory), but at that point it didn't matter because it was the end. I'm a bit lukewarm about the extras as well, but it's not focused on the main CP so it's totally optional to read.
  • Now, the instances on the other hand... thrilling! I was hooked for each movie, and the author did such a good job worldbuilding that it really felt like actual irl movies can be produced from these stories.
  • More suspenseful than straight up horror, so for those who are a bit of a wimp like me, just don't read it alone at night and you'll be fine (I think).
The MC

  • Really. F***king. Smart. Just one of the most intelligent MCs I've ever read. As you progress the plot with him, you can 'see' him unravelling the mysteries and connecting the dots. He's not omnipotent, rather his thinking is just a step ahead of everyone else'.
  • Cunning, a self-proclaimed narcissist (you have to be to fall in love with yourself), his motives are clear and consistent, and he will always look out for his own self-interests before anyone else'.
  • While he's not particularly heroic, he's not that ruthless either. He will pay back loyalty with loyalty and usually being by his side has a lot of benefits lmao
The ML

  • Unquestioningly supportive, is the brawn to the MC's brains and will happily take a backseat and let the MC 'drive' the body, only coming out when he is needed.
  • Trusts the MC 100% even when he is told to do things that don't make sense at the time. I don't find him gullible or a pushover, rather he and the MC are SO in sync that they don't really need to explain to each other most of the time.
  • Overpowered, of course. Not that I'm complaining since the things he goes up against are tough.
The CP

  • Not a lot of actual romance between them, but there is yearning (more physical rather than emotional, what with the whole same body issue). A lot of moments are just them playfully bickering, and generally being comfortably domestic with each other.
  • Power. Couple. That's all.
Others

Side characters don't have big roles, but each are unique and they provide a lot of needed support to the MC. The peanut gallery is great! Provided hilarious commentary that says what all of us readers are thinking lol

this was such an amazing read.

I've never read horror before and this one was a great starting point for me!

the premise of the story was interesting enough but the author's idea for the different horror arcs were what got me hooked. It was fun and also damaging to my brain (cos I'm dumb LOL$ with all the big brain moves.

the MC and his BF are likeable. They may be narcissistic and arrogant but they do not go out of their way to make trouble or solve them for others and... more>> I like that trait.

some parts of the arc were really scary for me. Lol. So much so that I decided not to read the novel at night HAHAHAHA. CALL ME A p**sy. COS I AM. RIP.

the comedic value is higher than I expected and made me cackle quite a number of times.

the side characters were colorful and it was nice to see how the MC interacts w them.

the ending was satisfying but I think I would've liked to see more of the other side characters' endings too. They felt very much like SIDE characters HAHAHAH.

also. There's ren ze. Ren ran came out like twice? And she never appeared again aft. :')

This story is fantastic!!!!! Our MC is actually so OP that you forget that ML even exists sometimes. But the fact is that they only exist for each other and you can't help but love them both. Xie Chi is so smart that you'll visibly see yourself lagging behind in IQ lol 😆

10/10 recommended!!!
