Xie Chi is a patient with multiple personality disorder. On the surface, he is educated and gentle but the secondary personality is cold, ruthless, and powerful, with explosive strength.

Xie Chi can never fall in love with others because the secondary personality is his boyfriend.

Xie Chi’s only dream is to one day embrace his lover.

In order to realize his dream, Xie Chi willingly bound with the Horror Movie Actor App. The app regularly releases horror movie notices such as Spirit in Red Clothes, Zombie Lovers, 1552 Haunted House, etc…

Selected actors will be placed in a real horror environment to survive.

On the first day of filming, the first male lead with a dirty personality blocked Xie Chi in the corner. “Follow me and I’ll help you be the second male lead.”

Xie Chi smiled softly and shook his head. “That isn’t enough.”

The first male lead was dumbfounded.

Xie Chi smiled slightly. “Brother, help me beat him up.”

The secondary personality gave a cold smile to the first male lead.

Ahhhh binge read it for 2 days, just finished lol. Definitely one of my absolute favorite novels, the MC and ML love each other so much. Also, the instances are very tough and keep you on the edge of your seat, constantly trying to figure it out, and sometimes wonder how Xie Chi will survive.

The ending was great, and the extras were cute.

My suggestion is read the comments first before read the summary, if you're unsure believe the comments; I'm sure you'll be glad to trust the comment

MC and ML both were amazing ♡ one was highly intellegent one possessed extraordinary strength. MC and ML shared one body a.k.a had DID. This point might cause some of people turned off but at least for me their relationship was much better than some CP

Author loved to potrait almost every single character seemed unlikeable for the first impression (such as MC was potraited as... more>> someone who's aloof and maniac, or other character was potraited as timid mouse who highly might betray other in dangerous situation) but in the end it's about river water did not interfere with well water. Although the antagonist character gave us logical reasons to dislike them, it's only because they bore ill intention towards MC. Of course there's a plot armour but even the availability of those armours were based on logical reasons' written along the chapters. There's also a moral story in each arc :)

Very recommended, it's not a perfect story but it's among the best stories ♡ <<less

If I look back on this story, I could say that it's literally about him.

I enjoy every arc on this story and I was surprised on the plot twist (you already know what).

this novel is super interesting, it won't make you feel bored but it will make you feel dumb instead (I'm not even kidding lol, the MC is super smart that your own brain can't catch up to what he's saying).

at first I was hesitating to read this cause the title sounds childish to me but now I wanna go back in time to scold myself. Honestly, the author is a f*cking genius, I wanna read his/her other... more>> novels sooo bad. And the translator/s!!! Thank you dear translator for picking this up

I was quite reluctant to pick up a horror genre related romance story due to my first terrible impression thanks to 'I wasn't born lucky'. What intrigued me the most was this type of coupling that's been occasionally hinted in many other BLs but has yet to be realized; UNTIL NOW. (Transmigrator & host body's consciousness being cute together and the like/self-cest (?)).

Semi-rant regards to 'I wasn't born lucky':
Terrible disconnected narration, unengaging story plots, terrible horror stories in general, only bits of hilarious interactions as a ghost-mon collector, overbearing-pushy-s*xual harassment-loving ML, blander-than-water MC.

But this story so far has anything but the negative impressions from my first experience with this genre.
Although it picks up typical mistakes that most asian web-novels tend to, like stereotyped OCD that's not really actually OCD, germaphobia that isn't germaphobia; overlooking these points, it's been a 5 star journey.
If you like some spooks and a quick speedy romance this is it.

The story already starts off with MC and ML knowing each other on an utmost deep level, so there's no dog blood road till coming together or unnecessary misunderstandings between the mains.

This was absolutely fantastic. As of now, finishing it the first time, I found no loose ends and nothing that made me feel dissatisfied (though that could change with a reread). I loved the pacing and plots for all the movies.

I usually don't like reveals that include the MC being someone great in the past and doesn't remember or got reincarnated. Cause it is usually just used as a tool to justify why the MC is so OP. But I was very okay with here cause:

    1. Xie Chi is the brain but he isn't really the best fighter. Sure he got a huge "Demigod" boost at the end, but that didn't really affect the main plot so I'm ok with that.
    1. Xie Xinglan was very skilled and strong but he wasn't shown as invincible, he would struggle and bleed. And he wasn't as smart as Xie Chi, not dumb, but not a genius either.

Even if they are the same body, there has been a clear distinction between them, especially with the whole taking turns with control with the body. And even though they've been correct with many conjectures, they were also wrong and learned from the mistakes.

Also, since they have been together for a while, the author didn't have to rush at making a superficial connection between them and making them fall in love all of sudden. It was a smart decision since this allowed them to focus on the app and the wish, whilst also having a heartwarming relationship.

Most conjectures they formed were explained as they progressed whilst also withholding enough info to keep it a mystery. Hence, when the endings were reached, I could understand them but I could still be surprised with the ending. And the author did a great job with foreshadowing and paid a lot of attention to the detail. The horror part was also done well. I usually do a good job of remaining indifferent to the story in terms of gore/horror but this did give me chills at times. The main characters were very likable, as were the supporting characters. Highly recommend this. <<less

This one is probably one of the best BL novel i've read.

After reaching the ending my heart was incredibly sad because I didn't have more to read and my first impression was "it's a pity that a lot of people will never read it". The author is capable of making you feel part of the audience (read it and you will understand which audience). All the horror movies are interesting and more important with a plot twist, a very smart twist.

The MC and ML are perfect together, we will have... more>> lot of cute/fluffy moment but the romance will never put the "horror movie" topic in the shadow. Personally i've loved the secondary chars and I hated the villain/s !

(Cause once you start you won't be able to stop until all the mystery is solved, like me and might be suffering from nightmares.

'I don't want it to end!' That is the only thing drumming through my mind right now.

One of the coolest and smartest MCs I've ever read.

The entire book was thrilling and the plots inside the plot were very interesting. At some point, I think I almost fried some of my brain cells trying to keep up with the MC's thinking.

It was just so beautiful how everything came together.

Such a magnificent experience it was!

This really got my interest from the start. In other stories similar to this one, they had no choice and were pulled in. The MC on the other hand actively sought out for it.

The various twists and turns as well as exciting mysteries that made me loose a lot of braincells only added to the enthusiasm and I always feel somewhat 'enlightened' at the end, lol.

It really was a fun and amazing read, easily one of the best books I've read~

Definitely one of the better novels out there if you like to read about horror survival games. MC has dual personality (with the ML being his 2nd personality). The couple is strong and compliments each other extremely well during the horror games - the MC is the brain while the ML is the brawn. The plot is very well written with each game arc explained in detail and it's a HE.

I don't usually write reviews but this is probably one of the best novels I've read. The plot is interesting, exciting, and different from other BL novels. All the arcs occur in very unique settings.

The MC is also one of the best MCs ever. He's smart, cunning, decisive but also loving, loyal, and funny. ML is also super OP and I love how they're just head over heels for each other. No overbearing yandere ML!!!! A big +++++++

One of the best plot building story. Every arcs were good. But it’s really brain intensive to read all those twisted plots. Luckily the author really explained all the details or even plots. Or else I really don’t understand the whole story. Thats also why the MC was so op. Lol. The romance in the story actually very scarce, it’s actually a timeless love story and it’s all hidden in the plot. But mostly you enjoyed this story like “Death Note” type of mystery with alot of horror and detailed... more>> plot twists, later with tall the plot unravel eventually. Really a good interesting read. Lol, the tip I recommend for reading this story, don’t try to guessed too much or try to solve the mystery by yourself, it’s really cannot.😅😅 Just read the story to unfold the the whole thing, it’s safe you alots of headache. Just enjoyed reading it and it will explains to you. Highly recommended read. The translation is good so it is a smooth reading experience. Thank you <<less

Never have I ever love a horror novel as much as this. Even the horror movies are so mind blowing that it makes you think your IQ is soooo bad. Well I know I'm not that smart lmaooo I recommend giving this story a try and you won't regret it at all! MC and ML *chef kiss* BEAUTIFUL

I didn't read this story when it was still on-going with it's translation. And I thought it was gonna be some failed attempt novel with an interesting plot BUT SURPRISINGLY, IT'S NOT!

I love the Main character and Male Lead! The story had made me used 10% of my brain power. Reading the story feels like following the main character personally (and that's because of the amaizing writing from the author and translation)

Honestly, this was a fresh kind of novel for me, it did feel scary at some parts especially... more>> when I read it at night. I swear I love this so much and I'm glad I got to read it!!!

I'm so happy with this.

Not only did I feel my IQ jump up a bit, it also enlightened me on some things about life and being human.

I've always avoided horror like it's Covid-19, but this novel was worth the dive.

I won't say anything else. The high-star reviews are all true.

This is a novel worth reading, re-reading (maybe my IQ will increase more?), and treasuring.
