She is the secret service’s trump card, a poison specialist, but also a young and cute girl with a sinister temperament. Contrary to her sweet and innocent appearance, she can complete any tasks without the slightest hesitation. One day because of an incomplete black magic, she was sent into the body of a girl who was deemed as a waste of resources. What kind of change will she bring to this continent?

A certain bitter and hateful Prince says, “I believed she was weak and easy to bully, therefore I broke off my engagement. Only, I didn’t expect she is a poisonous shrew. I made an error of judgment.”

A certain Crown Prince deeply sighs, “She is such a sexy evildoer! Obviously, she has a frail and tender body, but I wasn’t able to overtake her…”

Finally, a certain Ancestor hit the nail on the head, “She is just a bit two-faced!”

She answered, “You’re just a big pervert!”

A certain Ancestor carried her into a room. “Then, you are meant for me! A two-faced and a pervert, that’s a perfect match!”

I binge read this one till Chap 342.

The MC is an assassin who transmigrated into the body of a 12/13 yr girl (The age is 12 in first couple for chaps then changes to 13 after she meets the crown prince)who was accused of adultery. She redeems her self and plans to live a life without regrets.

Unlike other Novels of same theme, she does not focus on revenge. She usually is happy go lucky unless someone tries to mess with her.

From the blurb, we see 3 men who speak about... more>> her and the arcs for first 2 are done. The final one about the ancestor has not started.

The blurb actually makes the ancestor sound like a playboy but actually he is the coldest character.

the last time she meets him, she doesn't recognize him as he has done something to her memory. He says she is a bad omen and will bring misfortune to everyone around her, so she kisses him to pass her bad fortune to him via the kiss (keep in mind she is young, so her justification is silly). He gets so angry, he throws her from the second floor window,*harsh dude*

Till now, i don't see any real romance here. Its kind of dragging with nothing major happening.. <<less

This review is as at c2253 of the chinese raw and will contain some spoilers
TL;DR: its romance, with abit of comedy. Emphasis on romance.

- Unlike many other novels in the series, time travel does play a pretty large (and interesting) role in the series.
- Chapters are short, and unfortunately the author has a habit of really dragging out arcs, so if you don't like a particular arc be prepared to have to skim through tons of chapters
- The side characters mentioned in the synopsis basically disappear from ~c1k onwards, however, before that there is good continuity whereby the author does try to let them appear every now and then.
- Nonetheless, as i mentioned, this is a romance story, and it will revolve (particularly the later chapters) around the romance of the MC and her husband.
- There is tragedy in the novel, it basically reads like a historical k-drama (think Da Chang Jin)
- While the old tropes such as the spoilt young master do exist in the novel, the author manages to get better later on whereby some characters aren't just the typical stereotypes.
- Some parts of the novel will not be from the main character's perspective
- While the novel appears to be comedic earlier on, note that the focus shifts to romance later on, and as such take note of this.
- A large part of the novel revolves around misunderstandings, which can understandably get pretty frustrating, but that's how it is.
- Circa chapter 1k of the novel there's basically a wipe of all the old characters, and the MC basically starts afresh.
- The novel is still ongoing
- Be prepared for feels later on in the novel (the poor MC has a pretty tragic life, which gets explained later on)

The saying "curiosity kills a cat" never been so true until now in my case. Reading the translated chapters, I was eager to read more as the female mc has an awesome attitudes/personalities.

It's practically drained me as I read on. I'm the type that really don't like reading tragedy as it will give me a depress feeling afterward. I guess I'm a crybaby cause I was crying a river reading the raws.

Well the beginning arc, there is comedy but as you go on hardly there is comedy anymore, it's... more>> concentrated more on romance.

Starcross lovers is the very definition of the two main characters.
The story is full of misunderstandings, bad choices that mc/characters regretted afterward, so much angsts, not to mention the mandatory amnesias.

It has what I would call sub stories too for the supporting characters. They have their own stories to tell too as their fates intertwine somehow or another with the mains. Some characters only introduced during the arc and hardly or never heard again.

The story crosses time and space and reincarnations.

The newest chapter is like 2300 ish I'm not sure if the author going to make it happy ending or tragedy but there are a lot of tragedies already in the arcs. <<less

Whilst I enjoyed the novel to begin with, the novel started to lose it's focus and whilst it is common in these types of novels to go full on deus ex machina, it've never seen a story that manages to build up so nicely and then suddenly lose it's plot cohesiveness. at this point in the story, I have absolutely no idea what the goal is for the main character, nor does she have any clue as to how to get to that goal, all she seems to be... more>> doing is get dragged along with whatever ends up popping out of deus ex land and being dragged along like the camera she is. She has many impressive skills but never has a chance to properly use them, there's no cohesive plot, no plan, which makes the read it self taxing. It feels as if a magic eight ball helped decide what direction the story should take. <<less

This is another former assassin mc reincarnated, that does not act like an assassin. The mc leaves her enemies that she is able to kill with her current power alive, for some reason. The mc is funny, so the story was not half bad. She also met a beast companion with a rare background I have not read in wuxia/xianxia novels, but the author did not develop the companion, and it turned more to a pet at home that was forgotten.

There were many inconsistencies, but two in... more>> particular made me drop the series. There was an area where no one, but the owner is allowed to enter, and then an exception was made for the mc to enter as well. About a chapter or more focused on the unprecedented exception made for someone else to enter and it has never happened before. Then, in the next few chapters the exception was completely ignore and others were able enter with no problems. The second instance was when one of the mc's enemies did not kill the mc because he felt pity for her. The pity came from the same enemy that humiliated, beat, framed and schemed to kill the mc several times, and then he feels pity for the mc. Is the author intending to force a romance with this character? <<less

A very satisfying read~

I like the funny and bubbly yet indifferent bad ass attitude of the female lead. She just don't know where to stop being interesting and she keeps making me laugh along with her weird thoughts and ruthless adventure. Volarenovels are always topnotch with their translation and I'm just very happy and contented with it! There's also a lot of hot guys that wants her but she doesn't give a damn so it's all the more funny.

I'd really like to be able to give it 3.5 instead of 3, but in my book it's not quite a 4 either...

Anyway, the start (chapters are short, so 60 chapters is not that much content) is fairly well written and translated, but also not very inspired.

A MC that was highly skilled, goes into the body of a "trash" girl from a ruined noble family that died while being wronged and abused.
A prince she is promised to that wants to cancel the fiancé thing (and potentially kill her).
A... more>> girl that wants the prince and that wants the MC dead for her "relationship" with him.
Remaining family intent on bullying her if/when she gets anything good.
Various jealous characters of high nobility and royalty abusing their powers everywhere.

This start is ripe with clichés, and only the fact that it is written by a competent writer and translated in mostly proper english saves it.

I do hope that it gets better after this, but so far this follows the trope of Chinese stories about a female spec op/assassin reincarnating into a "trash" body, assuming control and finding love in a different world.

I get that placing the MC in difficult situations, showing the corrupted system and all that is somewhat needed to make the male protagonist look good in comparison, but after reading 2-3 of those, you will start to see so many things in common that you will start to wonder if it's not a group of authors that found a rough script and all decided to build on it.

Anyway, it is not bad in itself, just not great either, sadly. <<less

I really enjoy the main character's personality and resourcefulness. The interactions between the main character and male lead are also enjoyable when the author isn't throwing misunderstandings and tragedy in their way. However, I went into this without knowing how much tragedy would be in it. Don't be fooled by the comedic undertone in the beginning.

I swear the author loves being sadistic toward their main character. After a certain point in the story, anytime the main character becomes remotely happy, be prepared for her to get slapped into hell (not literally, but she might as well be there). You'll be a lot less appalled by the horrible things that happen to her. If it's not the MC suffering, it's the male lead or a side character.

The author also seems to enjoy torturing the readers as much as the main character. The storyline often drags; this trait of the author's writing persists even during the arcs where the main character is suffering. It's fine to want the readers to understand the horrible things the MC is experiencing, but when this goes on for tens and tens of chapters, I just want to bang my head into a wall several times. Some people probably enjoy this type of writing, but I find it unpleasant.

So with all that, why did I rate this 4 stars? Well, I read it this far, didn't I? There's probably something I liked about it enough to stick with it so long despite all the tragedy. The story can be pretty interesting if you can get past all that. Besides, a little bit before where I am now, things finally lighten up again. Yeah, that's like ~1000+ chapters (the turning point of the story into a swamp of angst is around ch.1000ish) of huge misunderstandings/tragedy, but at least it eventually stops. For now. Haha. Who knows if the author will put us through some more of that later... There are in-universe reasons for why the MC suffers so much, but I still think it's just an excuse for the author to torture their MC and us. Hahaha.

Also, even though I say it's like 1000+ chapters of angsty suffering, it isn't like extremely horrible things happen that whole time. It'd be more accurate to say that usually one big misunderstanding/horrible situation is ongoing for awhile as a backdrop to the other things happening, then that ends and another horrible situation happens and is ongoing, etc. Once in awhile, something more extreme on the horrible-and/or-tragic-events scale will pop up. There ARE some more neutral or lighthearted moments to balance the mood a little, so you should enjoy those when you can.

Honestly, I probably only stuck with it so long because after reading about all the horrible crap that the MC suffers through, I just wanted to see her get to be happy for once without getting slapped into hell. I'm glad the raws are up to a point where things finally seem to be going okay for her.

The premise is typical, but the characters are relatively hilarious. The mc is pretty funny when we get to see her thoughts. They are always so casual and blunt, very modern like and like wtf in her mind is always so unexpected, it's great XD. Plus this couple feels natural and cute with each other. Sometimes you have stories with an asshole male mc, but this male mc is not an ass at all to the female mc, thank god, he is lovable and sweet. This couple is a real... more>> OTP! <<less

Decent for what it is, a transmigrated, smart female MC immediately thrown into a palace intrigue and broken royal engagement.

This is one of those series that feels better once you have read similar titles, where you might think "why didn't this or that MC said or do this instead". This is because right off the bat you get the idea that this particular author had read those stories and decided to use those alternative paths for the story.

What is slightly different than other similar stories is that the MC... more>> acts decisively and quite openly and hiding in plain sight. MCs in other stories often react in a hidden, barbed manner, but this one is quite brazen and fearless.

Needs more chapters, what is available are quite short. <<less

Great start to a novel. It is extremely similar some other novels with the theme of an experienced assassin/agent being reincarnated into the body of an unfortunate girl, whose family ostracizes her, and then her catching the eye of a powerful and suave prince. It is too early to tell if the book will be a carbon copy of the other similar novels, but either way it still is worth reading. As a side note, the grammar is not perfect but it does not really impact the reading of the... more>> story. <<less

A decent story to pick up if you're in the mood for transmigrated powerful female protagonists, but not one to eagerly wait for. As a plus, the quality of the translation is very good.

It starts with the introduction of several intriguing characters which, unfortunately, get ditched to the side as the author steamrolls the action forward at breakneck speeds. After one problem is resolved another immediately rises to take its place. Neither the reader nor the protagonist has any time to simply stop, breathe, and take in the situation. The... more>> pacing gives me the impression that the author simply wanted to throw the main character from one area to the next as quickly as possible at the cost of leaving behind unresolved problems and side characters whom the readers had just started to like. This seems to be one of those stories where the protagonist rapidly gains rare items and abilities to solve current problems, only to completely forget about them with the next set of obstacles - everything is directed by the author's whims, rather than any attempt to create a cohesive story. The first hundred or so chapters are entertaining enough, but I lost faith in the story after that. <<less

Your typical female transmigration story, with it's usual cliches:

    • former owner of body suicides due to plot by some love rival
    • "trash" body that's actually a peerless bodily physique
    • daughter of some general from a small country
    • typical mysophobic love interest
    • etc.

333 chapters in and she's still stuck in that little court yard with only 2 people (her most loyal butler and the transmigrator that transmigrated into a beast and only knows how to speak english). She's made a lot of progress in terms of power, but her relation with everyone else doesn't really seem like it's going anywhere anytime soon. Adding on to a few weird scenes (one where she pretty much molests the child form of this powerful expert, while thinking he's only a ginseng spirit) and all the weird modern day references (she once got caught up in an illusion, where she fought Godzilla with Sylvester Stallone and a rocket launcher O.o). All in all, it's not a bad read, but it's just not cup of tea.

Interesting transmigration story with a female MC that appears to be OP in her past. Her cross over seems to be smoothly transitioned into a 12 year old down on her luck girl being framed by her current fiancé, the sixth prince. Replete with her hosts memories and resentment, she's on her way into manipulating circumstances to her benefit.

Overall, it's a good start to the series, but I wouldn't recommend starting to read it now. The really short chapters and sporadic translation releases will annoy those following the story.... more>> Wait for more chapters or consistent releases. <<less
