S Tier! I tried to read it before but I didn’t get into it but the new translation is absolutely fantastic. Good humor and you get to follow the characters through the start of middle school all the way to after high school graduation. The romance does take a back burner where even at in the 200s they haven’t kissed yet but the chemistry between the couple is fantastic and the plot is so engrossing I haven’t really missed it. I only really noticed they hadn’t when a friend asked. 

High recommend to read this novel. Super entertaining, although it’s a little darker for me so I wouldn’t recommend as a pre-bedtime read for sweet dreams.

The male lead does something rare in that he actually considers what Louise wants and if being a prince's fiance is really for her. A lot of the series is Louise figuring out she is willing to fight for Ian and that she can become the crown princess and it will not be the repeating tragedy like of Ian's mother who was a commoner who died after becoming queen. 

Also really well done love triangle. They're all friends and the friendship always comes first to the romance. No matter who Louise chooses and they all want to be in each other's lives.  <<less

The plot follows a psuedo mystery which you will know where it'll end up from the very beginning but what unravels during the plot is how they reached that point.  Marriage of convenience turned to love here, it's a sweet marriage. They're very loving and they become partners to eachother and learn how to trust in one another. 

If you need to kill some time and want some sugar with a touch of mystery this is a good one. <<less

It follows the Witch, Roze who developed a crush on first encounter with the Knight Male Lead. After the Male Lead approaches her for a love potion. She's of course torn up and he has a bad opinion of her as a hag making this mind altering potion (her face is hidden under a hood the whole time) but in the long process of collecting ingredients and making the potion they get to know each other and a really sweet relationship develops.

FL is a bit dense and almost sailor moon esque in her ditziness but she also can show strength and courage in her brashness. Her Male Lead is a black belly light yandere schemer but who is generally very caring and doting of her. They work and don't feel toxic like a lot of other black bellies I've seen. 

FL is crazy overpowered due to the fact that she basically funneled all her energy and brain power into magic, however she avoids being annoyingly overpowered through the fact that she's terrible about how she uses her energy and we see her run out of magic. Her ML, Achilles is a really good balance to this because he is magically weaker than her but is a much better tactician about how he uses it. 

This novel does a lot of things really well and has a lot of features that I haven't seen done at all or well in others. For Example, this novel is one of the few I've seen with a Commoner uprising. It also has the best Original Heroine turned Antagonist I've ever seen. She is legitimately terrifying.

  Which makes up for some flaws in the story to me and maintains it's place of my favorite novels I go back to reread. It's worth a read! <<less

Irene is a heroine that you root for who is clever and competent but still has endearing moments of softness. We have another Heroine turned Antagonist who is done extremely well and this gets darker than a lot of shoujos. 

The male lead learns a lot from Irene and is a sweet, caring man whose in a difficult position due to his powers as the demon king. Irene and He truly belong to eachother in a way that's wonderful for both of their growth and they trust each other. 

I recommend just doing the first arc because after that arc's completion you get full satisfaction on the plot and the love story. You really don't need to read after that.  <<less

Really comedic in the way that old school shoujo anime is. Female lead is an idiot with a heart of gold. Super fun, I have reread it again because I find it a good time. 

However even with its super simple plot and tropes this otome isekai accomplishes and brings in themes that I rarely see in others. Like for one, the heroine reveals that she’s a reincarnate to the ML early on and they have a discussion on her guilt at body snatching the original villainess and worrying that she may have killed her. Which spoiled no, not the case however we also get to see where the original villainess’ soul has ended up, a rare resolution. 

Also has one of the biggest twists on an original heroine showing up that I have seen in my life. Wow it is weird but holy sh*t what a ride. 

It was fun and silly like an old school, comedy anime. I think it’s one you either are fond of or you absolutely hate- I had fun so…… Don’t expect a ton from it but great for a good time.  <<less
