Gonna make a polish this review better tomorrow I believe, but yeah, till then... This is what you have.

Lovable story, a little shallow, but hey! The set is in the dinosaur's age, nobody was much of a schemer except for priests and noble ones.

Which... understandable.

... more>> I adore the ML and MC, they are exactly what I want in a couple. Two people willing to care and put effort on the other. An equal relationship. Sometimes I wish more people understand this.

The side characters are very distinguishable from one another. Love them.

Also, nice touch on the equality to man and woman in tribe, won me over!!

The extra chapter and parallel stories are interesting and engaging.

Also!! The story is full of food descriptions and base building. I happen to be a sucker for this things, but if you are not, this might not be your cup of tea. <<less

I wasn't sure at first reading the summary because I'm not very into cheating stuff, and I couldn't really get into the first few chapters of just. Name dump and not really knowing anything that's going on. But after I left it for a while and came back to read it - I got hooked after around 20-30 chapters in? Honestly you can gist it like me, because afterwards you'll hear about them again and get a better grasp of the situation once you get into the story. It's really... more>> really interesting!! I really love prehistoric novels and it's so hard to find one - this novel stood out to me because there's all the great stuff about society building, dinosaurs, clans dispute etc. Etc. Food, harvesting, hunting. But there's also no r*pe for the main pair and I really really love that. <<less

It's cute and fluffy. At the start of the story, the cannon fodder get reborn and then break his relationship with ML (Xiong Ye) which made me judge the cannon fodder as an arrogant, petty, and ungrateful prick. Oh well I was right LOL.

Then the story gradually tells about MC (Zhou Ji) here and how he silently pay his saviour the favour he owed. The saviour of MC by some chance is ML. ML always feels that MC is the weakest because he doesn't have animal form and because of that, he always help MC again and again.

At the end of the story, the arrogant and ungrateful cannon fodder get face-slapped

There are some extra chapters about the world before the cannon fodder get reborn and the continuation story of MC & ML from the present world. I got a bit disappointed about the extra story from the present world because the development of the world is not what I expected.

This novel was pretty mediocre. Bland.

Its basically about the MC and ML getting together and their life. It was enjoyable reading how they got together and cultivate feelings for one another but I got bored of it when they other tribes were introduced and they began defeating those tribes. It wasn't as exciting as the beginning. I found myself skipping a lot of chapters towards the middle and near the end and only read the translators comments cuz they give you a little idea of what went on in the... more>> chapter.

I would have given this a 2 but the extra chapters especially the parallel world chapters were very interesting and made me increase to 3 stars.

I didnt hate the novel but I dont love it either. <<less

Oh man this was such a good read. I have read a lot of bl novels and dropped them pretty early on if the characters were unlikeable or the plot wasn’t interesting, however this was really good. It’s not a masterpiece of writing but it was so enjoyable that I have to rate it five stars! Love the MC Xiang Ye and I didn’t like the love interest too much but I guess he grew on me. I throughly enjoyed reading this novel and it is a cute story and... more>> the main couple’s relationship isn’t toxic so that’s a huge plus. I recommend you read it and give it a chance! Hope you like it too! <<less

I mean I was reading "The wife is first" and someone said this book is better than that and I'll find the Shou is like the "best Shou preference ever" but um I'm almost at the last and where?????? It's nice to read the book but hey can't say I'm disappointed. Zhou is too arrogant and Xiong is kinda meh. I love simps but this is too bland for my taste. 2/10 never a reread. (Don't attack me this is my personal opinion. Have nothing to the author and translator.... more>> If you enjoy it then good for you) <<less

It was an ok read, the main issue I had with it is the fact that it's is so one dimensional. I know the story is about finding love but there are all these interesting side characters that just get treated like tr*sh by the MC and ML. I wish they were explored a bit more. The MC also wasn't that enjoyable as a character, I get that he is lazy (I am too) but he basically doesn't care for anyone besides for the ML, which is something I hate... more>> in BL characters. I get that you're in love, but other people do in fact exist outside of your little bubble. It's to the point that the MC doesn't feel like a person but instead an ideal. Other that that, the premise was really enjoyable and the ML is really sweet, he really is what helped me push through reading this novel. <<less

Too much filler chapter. If only this novel could focus more on the plot, I think I will find completing this novel enjoyable. Even so, the MC and ML is cute. I love how their relationship growing and it's interesting have ML who is strong but so adorable. My beloved brown bear deserves all the hug he could get.

He is unique though, his laziness is funny, interesting and sometimes annoying. I like easy breezy novels with no heavy plots but the MC disappointed me, IT HAS A GOOD ENDING THOUGH, FUN FOOD TRIP, LOTS OF SIDE CHAR AWE AND CUTE MOMENTS-ish.

The extras might have ruined it for me, especially the

"Parallels" I was excited to see the parallels but it wasn't that different from the actual novel, kind of bums me

Rating: 5/5- Absolute masterpiece that I would re-read.

I became so invested in this novel and from the start, I fell in love with both the MC and ML. It was such a pure relationship, however what got me hooked was the side characters. Every single one of them was so unique and adorable.

The plot was very simple to follow and I liked reading a Cretaceous period novel. The descriptions were wonderful and the life of the cavemen sometimes made me envious of the simple life. The descriptions of food made... more>> a vegan like me, hungry. Who knew dinosaur meat would be my thing LOL!

I personally preferred all the extras, except for the last parallel world. I just thought that it wasn’t really necessary. <<less

It is really an incredible novel, that you absolutely must read, it is absolutely sure that I would read it again several times! ❤️

There are a few moments that I found boring but the whole story is really great, and when there are so many chapters it is normal to find some parts boring so that is totally normal. 😇

Alt title: Adventures of a foodie in the stone age era

I felt the setting was a combination of the honeymoon extra from Face of a Devil & the dinosaur arc in Surprise! The Talent Show Was Actually-?! I was reluctant to read this because even though I’m a fool for historical romance, I’m not too thrilled reading about the good ol’ fashioned gathering-&-hunting society. Not to mention they shape-shift into animals as well. The story was cute albeit mediocre. Truth be told, the plot isn’t anything grand. It just exists... more>> to revolve around the main CP, which is very cute & fluffy. Everything from the cannon fodders to the plot “twist” was all very predictable. It was all lacking gravitas, but I still managed to read it contently. If it had smut, I would’ve read more enthusiastically tbfh. I got bored towards the end of the story, but the parallel world extra brought back my interest. I suppose the only thing that made me use my brain was figuring out who was shou & gong lol <<less

Liked a lot! The couple is cute.

  • MC is adorable and very proactive, he doesn't lazy around waiting ML do everything, actually its the opposite;
  • ML is lazy af and very OP (beware if you dislike that;
The plot is good and funny. Its not super gross like some others.

What I expect from a novel is a good start, nice and unique plot/story, good chemistry between MC and ML and The ending, well, extras too.

The starting was interesting and the plot, well, It was kind of new to see the one being transmitted end up being ML (it always usually opposite. That's unique now). Since it's a slice of life genre novel, the overall plot was kind of bland but still good (i also like the multiple POV) but what got me to love this novel the most... more>> is the way it ended. It was so satisfying. It's hard to find a good satisfying perfect ending in novels. Even some of the most good and better plot novel are unable to give a perfect ending. As for Extra~

I really like the parallel world concept. Although it was kind of confusing at first but at the end I enjoyed it. I also like how they were able to change the story happened in original world in another parallel world with bot MC and ML being Old age. It's never too late to find love in old age. Well, it would have been better if there was another parallel world where ML transmitted at the young age and was able to stop MC and the lion guy relationship to get further and develope into something else. I mean in this way, Lion wouldn't have taken MC for granted and all and who knows he might have become hard working person who could only depend on himself to feed him and his family. It would be interesting to see how lion ends up like. Who knows he might not have turned into such a jerk like he ended up in all 3 parallel world. Hmmm

I am a person that love smut so it was very easy for mw to get angry and lost my mind every time ML rejects being intimate with MC. I mean I can understand why he was like that as him actually being human from modern world (his action were pretty realistic) but when your partner (that too an uke) is ready to be intimate with you but you reject it again and again...... it's like rejecting a dish that was placed on your place, ready for you to eat..... a seme rejecting his uke that's not what usually happen in novel. Although I Appreciate his action but at the same time that's not what I want to see ever again (in novel). Such a passive seme, once reading experience is enough, well, I enjoyed his change after being exposed.

I have read a lot of novels with hundreds of chapters and none of them was this boring. The first 7o-80 chapters was interesting and it kinda went down afterwards. I checked the amount of chapters left and I was like how am I supposed to finish this, it's so bland. The translator did a great job and I have always like chrysanthemum garden novels. But this one, I can't even make myself finish it.

Overall, if you are fine with bland almost nonexistant plot then go ahead and read this.... more>> But there are so many more novels out there with this many chapters with better plot and story. <<less

Absolutely one of my favorites! I read this story more than once! The pacing is great and I love how harmonious the couple are! Though reading so many chapters also caused me to crave certain dishes.
