Truly reccomended, Truly a fun roller-coaster that can make me sad and make me joyous throughout reading the novel. Well let me give a rough summary about the whole novel

* In this story we have two protagonist but our main view point is with Kang Jin Ho with his future lover Hong Yoo Hee. They both get reincarnated in the body of Jude Bayer and Cordellia Chase prespectively. Tho they arent on good terms before they got transported into their body, they soon developed love throughout their adventure and their continious level up together. *

Now for my opinion, Jude is a thinker and uses more of his brain and smarts while Cordellia uses more of his intuition. This is a given fact and established already in the novel, and this... more>> is also why their interaction is cute. Jude is thick skinned while Codellia is think skinned, but in love...... I say Cordellia has more of the initiative hehe. Tho Jude overpowers her in the other category of love ヽ (。◕o◕。) ノ.

PS: And to those who say that Cordellia is getting the short end of the stick here, you are outright disrespecting Jude and Cordellia because who the f*ck are you to even say that to our angel ಠ_ʖಠ <<less

Sexism? What kind of bullsh*t review. It's because you focus too much on their gender that you can only see that boy is better than girl when in truth, it's because of their position/character that made the difference not their gender.. You forgot the part where they were ranked 1st and 2nd respectively in the game before they were transmigated.

So the boy who's ranked as 1st place being better than the 2nd place who happens to be a girl is just common sense at this point.

Enough about rant, the novel... more>> is decent, it's neither the best nor the worse, the perfect way to pass your time with. <<less

After seeing Tearingfire's review, I can't help but write this. His opinion is flat-out incorrect, based on only an extremely limited number of early chapters. The #2 joke very quickly disappears, and the fact that he actually emphasizes it suggests he read no more than 20ish chaps.

Loot distribution is quite fair, with each character getting what they respectively need. In the final stages of this story, the two protagonists have approximately the same strength, and one might even argue the FL has the superior abilities due to lacking the need... more>> to turn on any sort of 'mode'. <<less

I love all of Chwiryong's works, but this is the best one yet.

Quick note : This is also amongst the best translation i've read so far. It is so good, that for the first time ever since I used novelupdates, I looked up other works that Adar Terra may have done. Usually I look up authors - not translation groups.

Back to the novel - it's really long - and I felt like it was not long enough. The balance between Action, Romance and Comedy is so well done.

Action : The... more>> MCs are never the strongest in a fight. It is done so well, that the MCs are most of the time, the underdogs, the black horse. It gets your heart pumping - worried that the worse can happen. Its a nice change from other novels where MCs are overpowered.

Romance : The best I've read so far in an action novel. It builds slowly, its sweet... its a love story. Its not the typical unlikely relationships that happens in other works, where a strong MC attracts all the females. Additionally, the monologue of the characters, questioning their feelings is both comedic and well done.

Comedy : Just right. Chwiryong's comedy builds up over time, where things that were mentioned in the beginning becomes recurring joke. The first time you encounter it, you'll smile a little. The next time, you'll be like, lol - that happened again? Then afterwards, you start looking forward to these moments.

Story : It is supposed to be a story where two rotten waters who knew all the story tries to fix the world, however, by doing so, the story they knew changes. And so its not all smooth sailing for them, and it kept the whole story interesting.

Do yourself a favour, read Ending Maker. <<less

Amazing. That's all I can say to this novel.

Let's talk about the translations first; He/she claimed its an edited MTL and that did make me feel a bit hesitant to continue, but reading the first chapter made me heavily doubt that claim. And by the time I've reached 5th chapters, I can safely conclude that the translations' quality are on par/comparable with professional translators. I was honestly amazed and it kinda reminds me of rainbowturtle's claim of Legendary moonlight's MTL translations back then. Both are amazing despite being claimed as... more>> an edited MTL.

Now, let's talk about the story; Like I said, its amazing. The author is a genius at writing flirting dialogues, and the personality of both Jude and Cordelia stayed consistent throughout the story. Some readers may have claimed that they are bored with the repetitive flirting, but that was not the case at all to me since the characters have really grown up inside me. The author also portrayed Jude's brilliant mind and Cordelia's cute personality nicely and it was always fun to read their inner thoughts. It successfully made us readers (or at least me) believe that Cordelia is really cute and there are few times when I share similiar thoughts with Jude's mumble of 'cute' during their interactions with each others. And I believe I am not the only one who thinks that way.

I also want to point something out; This novel did what many novels couldn't do. The author was able to combine BOTH romance and action/adventure genre correctly. Usually you would only see a novel like this with 'Romantic subplot' tag at best, or worse, one with proper romance but was not written that much because those novels prioritize the actions/power ups/adventure part more; But that is not the case at all here. You can see the romance THROUGHOUT the whole novel's story and author even confessed in his post script that he did his best to make their romance grow slowly and naturally instead of being suddenly in love with each others. All of that while also consistently did a quality writing of actions/adventure part and also power ups that us male readers love to read. There was also decent meme/jokes inside of the story that luckily had gotten across to us thanks to translator's superb works.

All things considered, I really cannot describe how much I love this novel. I love the romance, the actions, the dramas, the tearjerk scenes, and most importantly, the characters itself. I really can't thank you enough for the translator for providing us such a quality work on a quality novel. <<less

Holy freaking gosh! I finally caught up to the translations (ch. 285) after days of binge-reading this! It's just so different and unique from other stories that I read. Like, not only is it so well-written (and well-translated too!) but wow is the plot so intensive! It has successfully captured my interest with all its mysteries and adventure. I am seriously amazed at the author for writing a story that has great world-building! Bonus points for not having many dramas.

IMO, the two leads are equal for the most part, and... more>> the side characters are not two-dimensional. I love reading how they started as a weakling to being over-powered geniuses. And what's more, currently, they've only been in the game for a year! Furthermore, they don't always win every battle on their own, and they can't predict every move that the enemy will make.

As for the translator, they have my respect! The author incorporates a lot of references from other media, and the translator always researches it to make it more understandable to the readers, which is really nice. Same with some unfamiliar terms in the story.

Overall, 100/10!!! I promise that it's worth your time!

Spoiler

!!!SPOILERS!!!

1. Count Chase is the best father-in-law ever!!!

2. Edward Chase, the FL's brother yet always ignored, might as well be invisible. #sad #noonecaresabouthim #poorguy

3. Those poor Fairy Queens, especially that one in the wild lands, always being ripped off by the scammer, crazy fantasy couple. Don't worry because many other people can relate, like the Wild Gods, for one. Poor chaps.

4. Damn, Jude is really scary. He is that kind of guy who you don't want to be an enemy of. Let's all have a moment of silence for the demons...

5. Ch. 264 is the chapter we've all been waiting for!!!

This is a pretty awesome novel.

The translator is great, even tho he uses MTL, he does a good job and research on terms and references that are hard to get without previous knowledge, he always posts images and explains terms used to put things in context, goes back on chapters to correct his mistakes and posts often, not something I've seen from other translators, we often get frustrated with very good novels being poorly translated, mtl copy paste, taking too long to post a chapter or locking chapters behind paywalls.

It's... more>> really refreshing to have a novel I like being translated by people that 'cares' about it, keep it up Adar Terra, your doing great.

The novel is not perfect tho, it has a lot of annoying moments and some boring parts...

At the beginning its seems like the ML is favored with items and power ups (he's really weak in the start, so its not balanced to begin with, he needs to catch up), and he teases the FL a lot, but that has context, he was 1 and she was 2 in the rank, and their relationship in the chat room of the game was just him teasing his 'rival' who could never surpass him, and the other part getting mad and tr*sh talking.

Later on its revealed why it was that way.

Spoiler

When ML was a noob, FL passed by him while he was dead and instead of ress him as he expected, she just told him he was bad at games and went her way.

That motivated him to get gud and get 'revenge' in the game, the ML is around 24yo (other aspect that some reviews pointed was 'oh a retired old man and a young girl romance? disgusting! he retired at 18-19 lol) but his life was pretty f*cked up, apparently he grew up as a orphan child soldier in a mercenary group, he pretty much never had a childhood, so he's immature in certain areas while being a genius in others.

Anyway that became his motivation and joy in the game, and he did got his revenge on her, the funny part is that the FL completely forgoten the first real encounter and to her, the first time was when he lured a boss to kill her, kill the boss while she watches and when she expect him to ress her, he just tells her she's bad at games and walk away, which also motivates her to play and surpass him to get revenge, but she's always second and think he's mean for teasing her without knowing why.

[collapse]

To me the most annoying part is the author ALWAYS putting a description of a skill that was explained in the first chapter...

Cheonmujiche, everytime the author points that Jude is good at martial arts, dance, or anything that requires body movements, he puts 1-2 lines with the 'skill description', and that skill is mentioned like once every 2 chapters or so, its really annoying.

But its pretty wholesome overall, they are balanced, and the romance develops pretty slowly, its like two 9-11 yo kids romance, they blush just by holding hands, they have no experience in romance after all. <<less

This novel is great and it deserved 4 stars from my perspective.

(Edit, completed reading it til chapter 284 and I changed my opinion it's 5 stars now and kind of nvm my review after chapter 150)

Good points.
    • A unique story where the main characters both reincarnated at the same time and world.
    • The main characters are originally Engaged so they can stay together most of the time.
    • The world building is nice and the characters are not bad.
    • The slow romance that they develope as they assimilate with jude and cordelia's memories.
    • The translation which is the best point because the quality is soo good that I actually began to doubt that the translator is using mtl+the awesome release rate.
The bad points.
    • There's no actual sense of Danger as they win always, but they still put alot of effors so it's not as if they just sit down and win.
    • Their power ups timing are quite bad, I mean they just obtained some awesome item so it doesn't make sense to get another power up in 10 chapters
    • That's a temporary negative remark that only lasts til chapter 50, when cordelia was still influenced by her past life (yellow storm) her dialogues except for the ones jude tells her consist of (f*ck and what is this bastard saying/doing)
In the end it's actually good and the negative remarks are not exactly that bad plus the writing style is good but (slight spoiler but not that bad)

Spoiler

look forward when they become conscious of their relationship it becomes extremely cute

It is incomprehensible to me, how they recognized eachother right of the bat, having been born/reincarnated as different people. Plot hole.

Furthermore, narrator claims that, although they have sort of regained the memories of their past lifes, they are still in the essence, same people who were born in this world, where action takes place. But they don't act like those characters, they act like those stagnant-water scrubs. Bad narrative.

These two things are immensely off-putting, especially when they meet another playable character and wonder if they are the same as them.... more>> But they were somehow able to recognize eachother with one look.

One might argue that since they have played so much with eachother they should be able to tell, but they have never met in person, they have never even spoken to eachother in voice chat. So it really is wonky altogether.

If it hadn't been for those things, the novel would be somewhat pleasant thing to pass time, but as you read they seem to become increasingly more difficult to forget about. A pity.

Still, I can tell this should be more or less alright down the road. For mere webnovel above average for sure. <<less

Wonderful. The real selling point for this story is the fantastic chemistry between the two leads, who power their way through a fairly bog-standard fantasy game-world isekai while teasing each other, scamming hapless victims, beating enemies above their level, and generally driving people to distraction. Apart from level-ups being a major story device, the game elements are relatively understated, so you won't see stat windows or inventories here.

One really nice thing the author does is give both the male and female leads a relatively equal role — while Jude is... more>> the strategist, it feels like Cordelia plays a critically important role in the party instead of simply being eye candy.

The translator puts in a lot of effort and has made plenty of revisions to past chapters to improve quality. It reads well and has a lot of useful footnotes, which helps since the author is fond of Korean pop culture references. <<less

Finished the main story and most of the side stories. One of the best novels I've ever read. The way this site shows reviews is pissing me off because the most liked review is 2 years old and basically a pile of dogshit.

First translation. It's great if I got it right it's a mix edited mtl and a translation but I would take this over almost any translation on this site.

Now for the novel itself. Great characters a bit rushed towards the end but still the important characters have enough... more>> presence in the story they are not completely empty. I thought that the truth of the 2 "reincarnated" individuals could've been handled a bit differently (a bit less controled like they were something that wasn't in the plan) but otherwise really great and
Spoiler

they did get their perfect happy ending.

I am glad that it's not a harem they both only have eyes for the other one. Altough I do like me some good harem unfortunately good harem novels are about as rare as japanese male protagonists with spine and the ability to say no. So again glad it's not a harem and there is absolutely no sign of their feelings wavering in any way shape or form.

Love the novel 100% worth the read. <<less

Damn, this novel is a ride!

One of the few novels where there are 2 Main Characters. That, plus the unique vibe and style that I've felt while reading this novel made this a great read!

Story-4.6/5

The first half up to the late stages are well written, though the ending is quite rushed. Still, the ending concluded with a bang.

Spoiler

Ever since the empire arc, it became rushed. Even author-nim admitted that the story is rushed, as he planned to make the empire arc similar to the wild lands arc. All in all, the ending was satisfying.

[collapse]

Characters-4.8/5

In here, you can see that the characters are well-written. Even the villains has enough justification on why they are like that.

Spoiler

Most, if not all villains, explained their circumstances. Only the archbishop guy didn't since the story got rushed.

[collapse]

Romance-10/5

If you look at the cover, romance is expected here. And damn, some chapters you might survive without an insulin but there's some sweet moments where you will just faint due to sweetness overdose. Even 100 insulins won't save you.

Development-4.9/5

Heck, I also enjoyed this from this novel. The characters developed, from some being immature to being mature. From some who gets embarrassed while doing lovey-dovey things to some who aren't.

Spoiler

I would like to put this here. Lucas (I think) has one of the greatest development out of the series. You'll know why when you read the novel.

[collapse]

Translation- 4.8/5

The translations are very smooth! Along with the TL notes, you can fully understand the gist of the story.

Final verdict:

A fresh, unique read that has action-packed scenes and diabetes inducing moments. Once you see them (Male and Female MC), you start to ship them hard. It's like this novel had the complete package. No harems, no generic plot, even the power-ups are justified! A must read. <<less

While their are aspects of this novel that I find somewhat tiring, for what it is it does its job well. Often with the type of novel where the main character, in this case main characters, hold knowledge of how the future will come about the novel fails at creating any suspense or general feeling that things could go wrong. Ending Maker doesn't suffer from this problem mostly because its setting requires that the future of the game world is inherently hard to prevent simply because of catastrophic it is.... more>> The main characters are almost always weaker than their opponents and can only achieve victory through clever strategy and teamwork. That alone makes this novel worth giving a try in my opinion. Its the type of novel that won't wow you in any particular way but it doesn't have any major failures and its well paced, making it hard to stop reading.

If I had to give one complaint it would be that the side romance feels very ship fanfic-y, but honestly given the setting and the main characters relationship with it maybe it fits lol. Also the main romance in the later chapters just feels like its going through a checklist of different romantic goals which is kind of boring but honestly you can find a lot worse in other web novels so its hard to really get up in arms about it, and despite it I'd still consider the main romance as good overall. <<less

theres something wrong with the star rating so imma rate here: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (c186ish)

edited (completed) :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (go to the bottom of my review to see why I changed it)

okk so, I know im not done with the novel yet, but I was really really temped to write a review.

... more>> imma state the good things first

the plot is amazing, the flow of the story is incredible, no plot holes (so far), world building is so good... etc

basically anything related to the world or plot is really well written

however, character wise, I have a few objections. first of all, there are a lot of side characters, so obviously, they may seem quite 1d. nevertheless, the author did a great job on them, though I believe that the character development can be improved (a lot). okk, so even if there was this flaw, I would have rated the novel 5 stars (most novels I read have this flaw too, its very common, just that really great writers would not have a problem with this issue)

kudos to the translator. though she used mtl and edited it, she did her research and really edited the parts which she had done wrong, if a person commented on it. I can feel her dedication<333 honestly one of the best translators ive seen.

BUT, the problem arises here. I don't know about you, but I have read 1/3 of the novel, and I already cannot stand this, which is precisely the reason why im writing a review before finishing the novel.

the obvious discrimination against the fl. this novel was supposed to be a male protagonist, I get that (only realised when I read the tags later on), its just that the author wrote the FL like she was also a protagonist, cause she was with the MC every single scene, and obvi has her cool scenes as well. however, the fact that the power ups she gets, the level shes at and the equipment she gets is always lower than the MC. it makes it seem like shes also some 1d character who is only there to make the MC look better.

originally, she started off as a strong and independent female, which was very good. I really loved her personality there. slowly, she starts to become more like- cliche save me hero kinda girl... and that was when the ML started becoming way more op than the fl. idk if the author was trying to prove that she can rely on the ML (its too much) or that the author just likes these kind of tropes and romance (the forever cool smart guy and the naive dumb and occasionally strong and badass girl). is this the only 'romance' book the author has written? I dont know. but if it is, I understand. the authors probs more used to writing action and stuff (which is well written), the romance is weak. not that the romance isnt there. in fact, it is shown very clearly. its just that the descriptions and how the author writes it is shit, no offence. I have come to the conclusion that the author has never fell in love before, and is single.

the teasing the MC says to the FL (e.g. 2nd place) was ok at first, it was cute. but then it got used to much, that it was getting annoying. it was gone later on, but then the powerups and levels and equipment came... and ofc, the FL always gets the worse one (in long run).

the power difference is so obvious that even I can tell that if the MC and FL fight, the MC will win. I think the author also tried to make the FL power up more, with her instinct thing, but honestly, its a pathetic effort to add that in. its so glaring that I cant help but think it was purposely put in so that the gap between her and the MC is lessened.

being a person who is very insistent on gender equality, I think this issue hit me more than others. I believe that its also because of how well this novel was written (its so my taste), that I cant accept this 'imperfection'. this is also probably the reason why I deducted 2 stars cause of this issue. I understand that in most novels, the ML is always stronger than the fl. unfortunately, I cant change this fact.

anyway, im trying to find good novels with both the leads having the same power level.

im willing to try and continue reading this, though that issue irks me a bit, the plot and story is worth the read.

edit: I finished the novel using mtl and its sh*t but I somehow got the context. plotwise is great, and I dont feel any major power difference at the end of the book. omg, but the romantic parts are so cute

jude loves kisses <333

I honestly don't know about the other readers, but this deserves the 4.5 stars it got. Though it seemed cliche at first, with Jude and Cordelia both being able to sweep through the world without difficulty, it changes around the end of the wildlands arc. People are saying that they were able to do it just because they remembered, but the butterfly effect started to rear its head around that point, so those who dropped it around 120 chapters, I can only pity you. ... more>>
Spoiler

The royal capital arc especially made it seem like the world wasn't running in their favor, and felt more like a proper story. We see betrayal and romance, and the suspense on the later chapters is a lot more than the first 100.

About the romance, those who thought that Jude was a 30ish year old adult while Cornelia was a 17 year old, you really should've read further. I was a part of those until a chapter comes up around chapter 20oish, where (spoilerss)

It is revealed that Jude has actually grown up in a foreign environment (out of the country), and as such may not be as old as the author made him seem with his experiences. My speculation is that, since it gives off the same vibes as Mercenary Enrollment, which has a similar set up where someone grows up outside of their country in war, the novel will probably have something similar. TLDR: Jude may NOT be in his 30's, but is probably in his EARLY/MID 20's.

Cordelia becoming an accessory for Jude? Man, if you didn't read past wildland arc, I'd see why. Jude gets a few massive powerups that boost him up, but after that most of the powerups start to move towards Cordelia, who manages to get herself back on equal terms with Jude. We see her being equal in the teasing/flirting as well, so I really can't see her becoming a yes-woman. Literally nothing changes about their battle style/traveling style except for the flirting, so...

[collapse]

Also, I find their banter at the beginning amusing, and the fact that the Jude expresses his dominance over Cordelia only riles up her fighting spirit though? They're both rotten waters and #1 and #2 on the leaderboards, so it really shouldn't be an issue of whether they have lives or not. <<less

I saw another review (Steffan Loves Marcus Lo) and I 100% agree with that person.

The story is 4/5 maybe 4.5/5. The plot is little bit generic. You are a character in a game that you are really good at and all of a sudden you remember your "past?" life and know all about the game all the secrets and hidden items, etc. Except it's you and your biggest rival from your game that both got reincarnated. I really enjoy the dynamic between the two MC's and you'll find yourself cheering... more>> for them or say get together already.
