Honestly, went in with high expectations, but goddamn I can barely keep my eyes open. It's so incredibly boring. Apparently it gets better past the wildlands arc, according to the reviews here at least, so I'll keep at it and hopefully it'll get better. Just the existence of this arc should push this novel's rating down at least 0.5 stars though. I gave it 2 stars, in hopes it gets better.

Just the first 100 chapters already being this boring definitely makes this novel being 4.5 stars a head-scratcher.

Why exactly is... more>> it boring? Filler plot that can be completely cut from the story, incredibly dull action scenes, abundant amounts of lazy dialogue and writing in general. Sounds a lot like Moonlight Sculptor, and both have decently high ratings for some reason. I gave up on Sculptor around Volume 20, so maybe if this gets any better, I'll try picking up Sculptor again. Who knows. <<less

Well it's pretty much exactly as advertised. A double isekai novel with a romance that could be called pretty cute or "baka couple" level cringey. The ML and FL are quite likable and have very good chemistry together. They have a pretty good progression in their romance with them gradually realizing their feelings for one another. Other than that this novel is basically a light hearted game world isekai story with a hefty amount of comedy. In other words, it reads like a rom-com set in a game world which... more>> is there to set up the events and move the plot forward. Overall, it's an extremely entertaining read and I highly recommend for people to read past the wildlands arc for the sappy romance stuff. <<less

I no longer want to read this series because of the following:

  • There is literally no sense of suspense. Every single plan by Jude will work perfectly. If the off chance the duo are in any danger, a deus ex machina will appear to save the day. Also the duo profits from every single random event to the point of ridiculousness.
  • Jude remembers every f*cking detail from the game (for eg Jude is able to remember everything even about a side character that appeared in just one obscure quest and even more absurd minute stuff like every single magic pattern from the game and even the in game language for barbarians and elves). He is also a great cook, fighter, strategist etc. He honestly feels flawless to the point of not even being a real human.
  • Full of shallow one note characters without much character development.
  • Extremely lackluster battles.
  • Pretty much every single chapter the author will keep talking about how beautiful and handsome the main duo are and it gets really annoying.

It had potential especially after the first 10 or so chapters. After you hit that point there is almost no story progressions and the story is mostly 'they can do this cause they are rotten waters' 'only they can do this cause they are the peak of rotten waters.' Feels like they are too hooked on the one plot point to move on.

Another addition to my favorites~ the plot flows smoothly, sometimes a bit too smoothly, but since it only has about 400 chapters, I’ll let it slide. The romance is cute and not too forced, very blushy lovable scenes that make you squeal. I like the ML being a black belly character since Humanity is the root of all evil and we all have faults, but aside from some scamming and slightly questionable thoughts, he’s still an alright guy. The side characters are very interesting and have their own story too,... more>> which is nice to read about a bit. Overall, just love the lightly flowing yet deep dramatic plot and sweet pure romance~

also ‘KanameShiro’ you can go f*ck yourself. I usually don’t like attacking other reviewers since everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but really, shaming others for liking a story which you failed to judge? I guess even if I tried to be respectful, an as*hole would stay an as*hole <<less

I really like this novel. I must admit that the first 50 chap is not that good, due to the FL being underdeveloped, but things change very fast.
  1. Jude and Cordelia - the 2 protagonist, have a very sweet, cute and powerful dynamic. They are basically born for each other. Noted that they are still underage and not married, so people complained about them not F*ck should just go to h**ny jail.
2. The battle scene. This is what I like most about this novel. It is very well-written and Jude... more>> and Cordelia actually coop in almost all the fight. Not damsel in distress cliche, not feminism. They are both badass and that is very rare. AND THE REVIEW SAYING THAT CORDELIA IS WEAK AND ONLY DOING SP IS BULLS*TH. She is actually stronger than Jude most of the time. And even though she listens to MC, (because she is not a re*tard that doesnt listen to a genius strategist), she is like a unpredictable variable latter on and her unorthodox thingking something greatly surprise the MC and help him a lot in building plans.

3. Cordelia growth is also the hightlight of this novel. She appear to be one dimensional at first, but quickly grow and develop unique traits and personalities.

4. The plot is good and has a feel of adventuring. Not many filler chaps or info dumps.

Now, some people rate this novel low is just salty and compare it to "good" novel. Danm, if I have to choose between ending maker and 50 shades of grey, I will definately choose the former. And the one assume that people who vote this 5* never read good novel is just plain wrong. Good romance novel tend to be short or slice of life, and ML and FL actually dont spend much time together. Can you recommend a good romance novel that is long, not slice of life, not harem, and ML and FL spend almost 24/7 with each other? <<less

Very good.

It has a great premise, consistent plot, the character interactions are delicious, and the translation is pretty good too. I'm very grateful to them for putting it in English.

Every page is entertaining. Some novels keep you in suspense to make you turn pages, some rely on cuteness, some rely on comedy, some rely on mysteries to keep you curious, and this does all of the above and more.
5/5

edit: I've seen some people complaining about how it seems "too easy". That is why I think premise is important.

They are singlehandedly trying to stave off an apocalypse that would occur if they didn't do anything. As the two best players out of hundreds of thousands of players, if not millions, they have the talent, experience and skills to be assured of victory when victory would be impossible for others. So don't expect them to lose battles. If they lost winnable battles, why were they the top two on the server for multiple years straight?

However, keep in mind that they could win almost every battle, and fail to stave off the apocalypse.

This is the premise of the novel. If they goofed around and failed to act optimally, then why where they ranked so high?

This is a premise that allows for tropes that would usually lead to a book that lacks tension and suspense, to lose those weaknesses but keeps its strengths.

Fun and light read.

I'd never feel like I'm reading an MTL.

The interaction between the MC and fMC are cute. There are no sexism I dont know what the other reviews are talking about. Its the first time I seen someone getting mad that the main character are getting the better items in battle. The ML is the MC of course he would frequently get better stuff than the FL but not all the time, I'd say they pretty much equal.

Too linear. And plot is not clear. There are no characters with substance aside from Jude. And worst of all, his memory is the worst plot armor. Whenever they are in a dilemma, they dont even bother to present options, Jude just mentions a solution out of nowhere and they just decide to go with it, then the problem is solved. We wont even know how he came up with such a solution, and his reason is that he remembered everything in the game. And this process just repeats itself... more>> until the latest chapter.

Im really tired of these KR novels with idiotic Female leads. Why does every female lead or love interest have to be an idiot or a muscle head, with almost no character development. They become mere decorations in these sort of novels.

The side characters are bland. They dont have a will of their own and only awaits to be spoon-fed by the MC. So far there has never been an action made by a side character that became relevant to the progression of the plot.

The quests really irritates me. Jude mentioned his ability to recall any quest. But we know that the main quest haven't started yet at the start of the novel. Even so, not even a single hint or mention about what it is all about so far. My worry is that the author will only mention it at the time it starts. And at that point, Jude will probably have already "prepared a solution, " without us readers realizing it. At this point, I dont even have any anticipation about the main quest since Jude always have a solution for any problem the instant he encounters it.

Us readers dont even know the MCs general plan on how to save the world. So whats happening instead is we know the villain's plan and the MC will somehow quash that plan at the end.

The dragon veins and abandoned magic circles are seriously becoming an annoying plot armor. Every time they are in a dilemma outside the MC's calculation, they will always somehow discover a dragon vein or an abandoned magic circle and use it to destroy the enemy forces.

This type of writing is good for a manhua or a webtoon though. I guarantee that this will become a top quality manhua if it ever becomes one. Sadly, this just wont do when written as a novel. <<less

This novel is 2nd best novel I read in the same genre after Martial Arts Master, you get to start with a novel with a new way of thinking of reincarnation from the start you get the hype that ML and FL live on that world was the original live rather than reincarnation into a game, with a very mushy relationship start with a friendship and develop afterward you don't get a feeling of nauseating of many romantic moments, any relationship in this novel is explained in detail directedly or... more>> indirectly about how they developed that friendship or romantic ship, with most of the time you have a smile on your face about the funny moments and jokes in each chapter with the fighting not boring at all, lastly the end part you will get a bit confusing about what happen and then it will explain everything happen in the last chapters about these conversation that you felt it was out of the place and it will explain everything happen to the MC in this life or past lives, again you get nothing of the sort about toxic relationship which is for me is super annoying to have to read about toxic relation which is a bonus for me and the action and fighting is well written and the translation is excellent with explaining all kind of Korean slangs which is amazing the amount of work done by the translation

really a masterpiece of a novel, definitely worth reading fellow readers <<less

When I started reading it, I was pleasantly surprised with the high quality romance between the ML and FL. I have rarely read a good story with such kind of romance.

The very begining was kinda atrocious with all the gamer talk, but it passed quickly enough an the plot was interesting enough not to drop it. Slow character development and growth was great, the slow romance just added to that.

All the sexism comments are kinda tr*sh, unless you have your head stuck up your ass. How the f does the fact that pvp focused fighter is better in 1v1 than aoe focused mage make it that ML is better that FL and therefore sexist? Lol. The MCs power levels always... more>> fluctuated, and that was fun. I guess for some it might look like that because FL was mostly focused on support and mob clearing, but that makes total sense, in games and in this story... Also, the fu*k bang and explosion angel was amazing.

But yeah, the story was interesting enough, the twist was good but a bit over convoluted, and the last part was kinda rushed, but it all wrapped up well, and there is plenty of epilogue/sidecapters if you wanted some more.

Pretty good read, 4/5. <<less

Novel not recommended to read, possibly only skim.

The main problem of the storyline is the author purposefully hinting at things that take hundreds of chapters to be explained.

Two major issues:

1rst: 326/400 Chapters in and the mentally disabled main characters still can’t realize why they have their past memories or the memories of their current selves.
2nd: The s*upid witch idiotically makes a deal with Asmodeus the head devil (one of the worst and most evil demons in the entire world) for no good reason (wanting knowledge).

Many Minor Issues:

1) Extremely slow romance (FL is far too dense, chapter 159/400 for first kiss then 320/400 for s*x between ML and FL lol)

2) Uselessness of supposedly strong/smart people (the paragon 5 are mostly “martial idiots”, strong people with low IQ), the Royalty (all the humans rulers are either easily betrayed clueless morons or underage children while the other races are equally dumb in their own way - sirens who can’t fight krakens and dumb elves [erofu]), and the Angels (super incompetent heavenly voices).

3) Rushed Arcs: Every arc after the first one is badly paced and somewhat rushed differently. The worst are the final arc and the capital arc, with the empire arc also being all over the place. Malekith arc is super rushed but still lands due to impressive dragon fight.

4) Minor Nitpick: after first arc of Wild Lands, author adds on more pronounced Heavy Plot Armor - ML and FL constantly faint a lot or suddenly receive enlightenment or absorb sacred sword energy or even supporting cast ML’s brother gets a rare never mentioned pill to magically heal from death.

5) Lack of communication - ML and FL both know large portions of the future yet seem to not adequately use it. Only near the second half of the book do they barely think of leveling other people up and they also certainly never considered how much easier their path could’ve been by taking advantage of their super strong parents (who mostly just show up late to the final battles).

6) Ridiculous ML and FL - ML is like a crazy spec ops sorta guy and FL is a high schooler with insane gaming skills. Mainly you have to pass the hurdle that they’re super gamers who also make endless anime and manga references. They also never tend to treat a situation seriously. Can be both a plus and minus.

There’s more stuff wrong but those are the main weaknesses. Overall not too strong a novel mainly due to the rushed ending and arcs 2/10. At least there’s a complete romance from start to finish though.

P.S. Author really really loves explosions, animal girls, and teasing guys.

This was an extremely enjoyable novel for me. What I liked was that this novel tried to have 2 Main Characters and said they were both OP in their own right and it delivered.

Male MC was good at strategezing and Female MC was good at fighting and the author stuck to this.

At the end of the novel Female MC and Male MC had same power levels but despite his smarts he still wasnt sure he could defeat Female MC which was a huge surprise for me.

This wasnt just said either.... more>> At the final fight FMC also played a big role and defeated a strong person.

Gosh this is hard to write without giving spoilers but yeah give it a read.

Also does anyone remember the name of the translator for this novel? <<less

Damn I'm loving so much their characters... Like their interactions and what not is like so balanced and not just one sidedly like many other stories which the other characters become so dumd? (Is that the word) after interacting with other character... Also the small or little by little development on how they interact or view each other makes me amaze and keep hooked...

I'm speechless. Never have I read such a great romance novel in my life. The chemistry is seriously intoxicating, in a good way. My review for this would be short, because all I can say is that you should definitely read it yourself instead of browsing the reviews for too long.

Although, I don't really like the last arc. It was very very rushed. Nevertheless, this is by far, in my humblest opinion, the number 1 novel in terms of romance.

Story: 5/5

Plot: 4/5

Action: 5/5

Romance: ∞/∞

Its perfect. Really. All the loose ends and some questions left in the main story was completed in the side stories. All the characters are life like. They also has a story and feelings of their own. It one of the best novels I have read so far. Looking forward to the authors new work. His other works are great too. I recommend it.

so I have finished the novel and I found it amazing and I recommend to at least try it out. There are many great and cool moments like the fight scene and the mystery with the reincarnation was really cool and good I was amazed at the end when I found out the truth at the end of the story. The side charachtors in the story is nice too, especially Lucas, he is my favorite among the supporting characters.i would give it 4.5/5 (i would round it up to 5/5)... more>> from my opinion it would have ben 5/5 if the ending wern't rush. <<less
