I started this novel mostly because I really like rainbowturtle's translations. I usually share her tastes and of course her translation quality is always top-notch ! And unsurprisingly, the story was just my cup of tea.

I had to MTL most of it, since, although rainbowturtle is already really fast, I am an extremely impatient person and could not stop myself. And to be honest, this is really easy to MTL. Barely any issues understanding what is going on (whereas with most other novels there is at least some degree of... more>> brainf*ck going on). The premise of the novel is really intriguing and something new and refreshing. The different kinds of card rooms keep the story exciting and the mysteries are well-handled. Although, it did have some boring moments and some rooms were not as exciting as others, it overall really kept me on my toes and left me wanting to read more. The MC and the ML are both extremely likeable and have their own distinct personalities. They also have great chemistiry, and both of them seem like the perfect pairing, not just for romance but also for solving mysteries (which is, granted, kinda obvious given their real-life professions :P) !

I would definitely recommend it! <<less

At time of review, the raw is at Chapter 269 and ongoing; withe the author posting new chapters daily.

The MC & ML aren't OP but they are competent in their respective fields and together, their skill set complement each other's in their struggle for survival to clear the each Card Room. So far, the Club suit rooms area all about card games and the Diamond suit rooms are all about brain games. The mu*der solving games of the Hearts suit rooms keep readers guessing with the characters, with the mystery... more>> getting only clearer as the characters find new clues about the mu*der. However, my favorite would have to be the Spade suit rooms! It's so suspenseful and thrilling reading as the characters plan and use their skills, world experience, and wits to survive the game until clearance date. Sometimes, it's like reading quick-wear but not.

It's not all about how to clear the games, though. There's romance, friendships, and keeping sane in situations that try the character's humanity.

It's 5 stars for the novel and 5 stars for the translation. <<less

I had nothing to read and this was in my bookmarks and I really didn't want to read because I'm a reader who usually reads chapters in bulk when the series is completed BUT I couldn't control myself ?.

This is so good. Super super good. The card worlds are quite original in the sense that I haven't seen them in other novels.

Characters are likeable and the plot is slowly unfolding as well as the hidden pits.

I can't help but wait for more exciting chapters to come and unveil the mystery... more>> of the card world.

And as a previous reviewer said, the romance hasn't barged in your face but the hints are there.

Spoiler

It's especially glaring when the ML thought about how Xiao Lou would be a good man to his wife. Hahaha, don't worry ML, Xiao Lou is your wife.

Now I have to control myself and not go mtl <<less

Sadly I didnt read that it is still ongoing. Now I have to wait for it to be done before Im coming back to read the rest of it.

Overall. The MTL is easy to understand and the story plot is also interesting involving bunch of game type survival game.

The chapters when they looking for clues/hints about the mu*derer is quite long for me personally.

Ik there's another review mentioning this but I just can't-

this was good. pretty good, actually, until you hit the financial crisis arc

Spoiler

and it is revealed that the nightmare room where only 0.1% of people manage to survive (so essentially the equivalent to dying if you get put in the room) was to live without money for 14 days.

That's right. 14. DAYS.

Granted, they said it was a weird city where no one would give jobs or give money, but the MC and ML and all the characters reactions to it were so weird. They were the equivalent of "no way, 14 days?? how could you even survive??"

Humans are tenacious little buggers--just look at our history of famine and food shortages. People can certainly live for longer than 14 DAYS if placed in a city where they can still dig out food from tr*sh and get for scraps from children through singing. there's no f*cking way that the only person who managed to survive simply got by through "going to the bakery to eat expired food and drinking only tap water and finding some children on the street who liked my singing and gave me snacks." that's exactly how that 0.1% person who managed to survive did so.

so. only 1/1000 people with no money managed to survive for 14 days when placed in a city where they could still dig out food tr*sh and get money from bystanders. 999/1000 people died in that situation, apparently. please, tell me if this in any way sounds realistic

After listening to this, it's so difficult for me to take the MC and ML seriously, especially after reading their reactions to this knowledge.

[collapse]

Furthermore, the more I read, the less... engrossing this gets? Sometimes, the MC and ML do something any normal/intelligent person would do, and then are endlessly praised for it, and I'm just sitting there and being all clueless because I don't understand the praise. They're also both extremely OP, which I'm not a fan of. <<less

I feel like a lot of negative reviews just didn't have the patience to finish this kind of novel, which is fair-everything is personal preference. However, it is one of the best novels I have ever read. The romance is very natural for the main cp, I know some people didn't like the side pairings but I found them quite sweet. The author does forget some details sometimes, which is pretty natural, and the characters would probably forget some things too. The author kept track of an incredible amount for... more>> how long this novel was. The intricacy was amazing, and the mysteries very well done. Heavily suggest if you're the type who can read long books to pick this one up! I cried when it was finished from the pure emotion-don't worry, it does have quite the HE. <<less

Really interesting novel. The last couple of arcs can be a draggy for some readers but it's perfectly fine for those who are used to long webnovels. I'm also glad to find another novel like TEIO that focuses on plot and not messy stuff like protagonists being kidnapped, love triangles etc.

Don't get me wrong, I really love the world building, the author done a great job on this part. That is as far as my praise can go though. Much like Escape from the Library, this novel is way too "Mary Sue" (or rather male equivalent). For a supposed Horror and such, things just come way too easy or "just happened" to be available for him. I still can't even get over how the ML who is normally always cold was immediately "warm and soft" even though they only met... more>> a couple of time IRL. At least in Escape from the Library that was explained by knowing each other for many years. As much as I would like to keep going with this book to enjoy the world building, I just can't keep going due to my annoyance with the MC and ML. <<less

Dropped.

.

Very unfortunate novel. It started very strong and immediately plummeted into a crash and burn scenario. Seemingly, very, very little prewriting was done. I can really feel the author writing the first arc, witnessing it's popularity, and just thinking, "what now?". The financial crisis arc has been brought up quite a bit as an example of how detatched from reality the author is and I agree. It would be nearly impossible to fail this room, yet the tone and urgency woven into the story gives this false sense of crisis.... more>> Yet, when MC or ML does something anyone in their position would do, they are endlessly praised for it. This blind praise only gets worse as the novel continues. Show, don't tell, author. Convince me these people are intelligent; don't just pull some medical buzzwords from wikipedia and call the MC a doctor. Subtlety is key and there isn't any to be found here.

.

Anyway very disappointing read as it was so heavily raved about. This review is just an unedited stream of conciousness so scuse me if I got anything wrong.

I do think that someone might find enjoyment in this novel if they really just want something kinda braindead to read while multitasking.

On a side note, the translation is solid uwu

Thank you translator~ <<less

Going to start this review off by saying that objectively, I don't really think this is a 5 star novel, nor do I think it's a 1 star novel. The author clearly dedicated time to world building, or at least the power/card system. However, it's the writing style that's holding this novel back, amongst a few other details. Now subjectively, it's definitely not a bad read, especially for unlimited flow, but it just... doesn't suit my taste. I kinda brute forced my way through 80% of the novel, which in... more>> hindsight I regret a bit. What prompted me to finally review this months after dropping it at around c480? After picking it back up today and reading 9 chapters, I realized why I had dropped it in the first place.

The plot is dragging a bit. Just a tiny bit, but it was enough for me to put this novel on the back burner for 5 months. I thought I could get past the second-to-last arc with no worry, but it's been a struggle. It feels like I'm reading in circles, which probably doesn't make sense but that's the only way I can put it in words. Oh and one more thing...

The writing. If I could make my review two words, those are the words I'm choosing. I really cannot explain this feeling I'm getting regarding the author's writing style and it won't go away. Many Chinese novels are written in a manner that praise the main characters, especially the main CP, even when there is nothing praiseworthy to be said. It's so common that it would probably be easier to name novels that don't incorporate it, but just personally I am not a fan.

Although I looked the other way on the constant character praising, I also just... can't really digest the way the author utilized professions as a way to justify the characters' background knowledge. Don't get me wrong, that's exactly how it works in the first place. But lines like "Yu Hanjiang excellently shot each of the cameras in succession due to his work as an officer" aren't clicking with me. I feel like what's implicitly known is explicitly said when it doesn't need to, and instead makes the line seem a bit more unnatural, ironically enough. But who knows, maybe it's just me... I'm not sure.

Anyways, I'll still be reading to the end, otherwise those 489 chapters will be haunting me into the afterlife. If you're thinking of reading this novel, go ahead and try it. If I'm being honest here, in most novels I would just recommend reading a few chapters to get the gist of the plot and writing style. Then if it suits your taste, by all means fully commit your time. <<less

The novel was quite draggy, the way the author just had to create gay couples where one guy suddenly is pushed to fit into a stereotype of a female was irritating and there were a couple of plotholes.

I really don't know why the author had to make the MC so weak and icky when he started out pretty cool, mature and independent. Like yeah he wasn't super fit but he wasn't completely useless in a fight either. He had control skills to help him, he could make traps, and he... more>> had at least one attack card and one strong auto defense card. But by the end of it, he was this weak little flower that was carried and protected everywhere by the ML (the actual females in the team somehow managed to travel and protect themselves but this 1.8m tall normal functioning male who is not physically paralyzed or ill had to be carried everywhere), he blushed and he was super shy like a 15 year old anytime anything remotely romantic happened (cringe), and he was suddenly positioned as a 'wife' in one of the challenges and had to dress and pass off as a woman. I mean... I know the author is positioning him as the bottom and all but hello, being a bottom shouldn't suddenly turn a 1.8m tall healthy man into a sickly 15 year old female.

this also happened but to a much lesser extent to yeqi and tang ci.

plotholes: the way the author kept forgetting cards and the limitations attached to each card.

Spoiler

like during the s grade diamond tomb/ maze thing when MC needed control cards and said something like oh no only yeqi has control cards. But he also has multiple control cards that were used in earlier arcs???

or when MC got stabbed with a needle and his little brother automatic defense card never activated. And MC already used 2 ancient times cards so it's not like they were banned?? No... it was just forgotten. that card only came out once by the way and it was used to show how MC feels safe around ML so therefore the auto defense card never activated. Urgh that doesn't even make sense because the point of the card is to DEFEND AUTOMATICALLY to danger not activate when the user feels unsafe cause I mean that means the card would be completely useless unless the user is on guard and tense all the time. and even then with the uselessness of the auto defense card needing ML not to be with MC, ML wasn't with MC at the time when he was attacked with the needle so the card should have activated.

[collapse]

Another plothole was the poker game... I mean... the author does kind of know the rules but it's like he/ she has never really played or watched any games played by professionals.

Spoiler

I mean... the number of straight flushes, royal flushes, 4 of a kinds that came out in a 4 hour game was ASTOUNDING. No, it does not happen that often. I used to play 5 times a week for a year and I hit each of those hands maybe once or twice max?? I don't even think I've gotten a royal flush before. And the actual probability of hitting a straight flush is 0.00139%, a royal flush 0.000154% and 4 of a kind 0.0256%. So getting those hands multiple times in a 4 hour game is just really really unrealistic.

However I will admit that, fine it's more entertaining for the reader to have these hands in the game but worse than that was the way they played... urgh as an amateur who used to play regularly and who's watched aloooot of professional poker games, the playing was really baaaad.

like the lady folding 4 of a kind. No that just doesn't happen with the community cards on the table.

or when ML just called a raise instead of going all in when he had a straight flush and after that he got praised for it as being as stable as mount tai when it was super s*upid. At that point he had 88 chips, and the total bet amount for players still in the hand was 68 chips meaning he had 20 chips remaining and the absolute best hand possible for that round. Anyone who has played before would go all in to maximize the value of the hand. Like he could win 40m more but he didn't and that's good playing?

or the way most of the players didn't raise when they had a strong pair. Most people raise when they have a strong pair or any pair to kick other people out of the round and protect the likelihood of themselves winning because another player might hit something better once the community cards are shown. I mean yes there are cases where players purposely don't raise to trap other players but it's rare not common. But here the players just didn't do so.

or when SQG made his bluff and then showed it off. Yeah most players that play regularly don't do that unless they're trying to get another player tilted and get them to play recklessly but he didn't have any real reason to do so. And I mean he got praised for it a lot but he literally winded up losing the more than 200 chips he did have when he made the bluff (because the other players pushed him out) and by the end of the game he had less than 200. And he bought in twice (I think) so he probably came away with 50m at the end of the game. Like seriously what was the point or result of showing his bluff? Winning way less than he could have?

[collapse]

I feel like the author had a very ambitious concept with this novel but didn't really follow through to the end so it's pretty disappointing. <<less

the mystery, the plot, and the characters were amazing.

Its just a pity that the author didn't keep better notes and forgot to use all the cards he made the characters draw.
i think a simple punishment of disabling - or destroying some of the cards they had or some abilities would tighten all the loose ends regarding the cards.

In regards to some things that were written and how the author forgot about them, I can let it be because it was a captivating novel.

An amazing 'unlimited flow' danmei, with a great ensemble of characters, exciting plot instances and 3 lovely CPs. Some card rooms are only puzzles and mazes while some others are complex plotlines with multiple ways of clearances. The card attributes are so complex and the plotlines so complicated that inevitably there would be some minor inconsistencies. I did not notice any, since I usually just let myself be carried away when reading novels. I don't analyze every chapter for plot holes like some readers seem to enjoy doing! IMO, the... more>> author generally managed to remain consistent and logical throughout the novel.

I love the pairing of strong police officer ML x smart forensic scientist/uni professor MC. Very interesting to read how their specific skills helped them challenge the card rooms. I like that the protags had such tacit understanding right from the start and were so good together even before they fell in love. Their confession scene is one of my favourite moments. The protags are not OP and can only rely on the specific skills of their team members for survival. They chose team members wisely, not only according to strength and skills but also compatibility of character and like-mindedness. I loved the 2 adorable side CPs within their team.

One annoying little thing is that the first 200 chapters are not proofread, with a lot of spelling mistakes. It gets better after they hired a proofreader. Another annoying little thing was author's habit of repeating some stuff over and over. I know this is normal format for lengthy web novels... but for someone who is reading the completed novel, a lot of things would be too repetitive. <<less

I have already finished reading the novel more than three times (it quite an enjoyable read and I won't lie I did feel bored while reading but I got through all chapter and preserved until the end and I quite like it). But I would rate it in the the following ways:

Quality of writing: 10

Quality of translation: 10

... more>> Characters: 9.5

Arcs: 8.5

Enjoybility : 10 (I enjoyed it a lot)

Horror: 6 (I felt that there was not much horror element in it more like an escape mystery)

Mystery: 10

Atmosphere: 6 (I kinda bias since I came to read horror bl, the novel according to me is inclined more towards um. Mystery so I gave it a lower rating without my bias it 10 if you came for a good mystery and to rack ur brain then).

Rereading Chances: 10 (Lol I would read this novel once again and again and it still enjoyable)

I gave the scoring out of 10.

Thank you to the translators for bringing this awesome book for us to read and tothe author who wrote the book. <<less

The rating's more like a 3.5.

Oof, wow, let's get into this. So I started reading this novel when it was first being translated, took a break, and only recently came back to finish it, so excuse me if I miss some details. From what I do remember, though, the novel was amazing. The world itself was like a breath of fresh air. It's basically about four different styles of challenges that progressively get more difficult until the final combined-style levels are completed, and the main characters can return to life--a... more>> unique choice among other infinite flows where no clear goal or clear conditions are set at the beginning. Also, the plot of each room (especially those hearts) was impeccable. Everything led to another, and clues were sown everywhere. I'm just mad I missed them. I can tell the author deliberated on what cards to give which characters. The main cast was undeniably good too. Past the MC and the ML, who followed the usual trope of warm vs. cold, the side characters actually got a little backstory! I could actually see the potential for depth in them! Finally, the slow burn kept me on my toes, edging me to keep going until I finally decided to wait it out.

But after I picked the story up again, a few (many) flaws revealed themselves.

Spoiler

The Card World wasn't destroyed at the end and only the main group got out (Even though it is clear that the Card World was the antagonist, 8 million people had either died in it or would die in it, and the main characters were described as kind). Great climax.

Time was rewound to return the main group to their lives before their deaths, but... butterfly effect. Especially 'cause everyone entered the Card World at different times.

The situation with the Jokers was never fully elaborated on.

The background behind the Aces was also never explained (A continually mentioned mystery in the novel, but nonetheless, never answered).

The side characters lost depth and started to become sidepieces, overshadowed by the brilliance of the centerpiece.

The romance progressed into a flushed, shy, can't-handle-my-heart-racing situation, which contradicted the mature aspects of both main leads, one of their most admirable traits.

Side couples. Okay, side couples. I totally shipped Team Leader Yu's brother and the spider woman. They would've made such a good couple. I mean, did you see that dynamic? But noooooo, gotta keep it strictly BL. I even knew it was coming, but my heart still broke, QAQ. But seriously though, a second BL side couple, too (music boy and SQG) ? Women exist, y'know. Two, maybe three (oh, the irony), are even in your group!

Eight thousand thousand people entered this world, and no one even got close to leaving.

The adoration of the author towards the main leads reached new, annoying heights. Every triumph is described twice (in literal sequential paragraphs that say the same thing with different wording), and every fault is ignored.

The suspense wore off. The very last level helped a bit, but the middle was a lost cause because...

[collapse]

the novel suffered from unmanageable scope. Everything felt drawn out because there were twelve levels and like six hundred chapters. Honestly, the very first problem I discussed in the spoiler section and this problem could both be solved by breaking out from the world early. Like heroes. Which these people are not.

Being real, I'll never forget this novel. Not only because it took so long to read it, but also because I witnessed my favorite novel transform into a regretful read. I only couldn't stop because I hoped the author would pull a sike, you thought on me, and it would suddenly become the best novel in the world. I can't put into words how sad I was at the end.

Thanks for your time. <<less

Although I finished this, I also can't believe I read a whopping 580 chapters. This book was just MAMMOTH. You thought books like Heaven Official's Blessing and The Husky and His White Cat Shizun were long but this takes the cake.

Anyway. This book had is of a similar genre as The Earth Is Online. I loved that book despite its flaws and I keep trying to find books similar to it. In this novel, the protagonist dies and is transported into a massive survival game/world with other people who have... more>> died. The survival world has lots of unlimited flow 'instances' where he solves puzzles or fights to survive with his life on the line. He uncovers chilling secrets of the entire structure of the survival game, finds love and makes friends, and manages to win at the end. The protagonist also gains lots of skills and power ups as he progresses, just like in a game.

The author is extremely creative. There were SO many logic puzzles, mu*der mysteries, games, etc. I really liked reading about them. They were fun to read and I was very impressed by how the protagonists deduced things (I like detective protagonists). No misogyny (thank god!) and many of the female characters were very complex. Her main and side characters are also all interesting, comical, and distinct (mostly). I especially loved the older team.

I think my biggest issue with this book is that it was way too long. The author was trying to create a survival game that has a progression route and structure inspired by a pack of poker cards, but it meant that the protagonists had to clear like, TWELVE levels of games, excluding sub tiers. Although the games were interesting, after a while I sort of got the gist and started skimming here and there.

I had another issue where I felt like the main characters were too overpowered and everything was going too smoothly. It doesn't feel like there are real stakes coz you know all twelve of the main gang will survive without much happening to them - very little character growth or development or change. The last arc kind of redeemed that a bit for me though. Finally, the path to victory wasn't so smooth. <<less

To be honest, there are a lot of flaws in this novel... the start is very promising but as you read along you'll start to notice the inconsistencies, the plot holes, the things that could've been used in a much better way. Looking at the 600+ chapters, you might have expectations of great character development of the main and side characters, good mystery and action arcs and a spectacular novel that will keep you on edge but ML and MC are just shown as OP from the start, side characters... more>> are not ignored and do get their screentime and moments but not to the amazing point you'd expect from such a lengthy novel, the author leaves a lot of plot holes to the end, even if she gave clarification on some, you can always notice the loose ends. The use of cards becomes so dull later on, like you'd expect them use the cards in some peculiar yet exciting ways or in some amazing combinations but truth is except a few times, the rest of the time it was just normal, heck some cards were just there and never used even once. The mystery never knocked off my socks and the fight sequences were only thrilling some times but most of the time they were just meh like there was no uncertainty and thrill whether our guys will survive this or not. The difficulty level was supposed to increase with each level, but I really never felt the difficulty as i've felt in other great UFs or anime i've read/watched. Plus so many questions were raised at the start, but in the end either the Author never answered them or we got some plot holes. The romance was okayish like idk don't expect too much.

I could go on and on about how the Author could've done stuff so much better and how many complaints I have and yet I still gave it a 4 star review... Its simply because this novel was a guilty pleasure for me.I'm a person who likes tedious mystery solving and the process of investigation, mechanism solving, puzzles, survival themes, games and while the Author did mess up like mentioned above, she did write a novel which involved us, the readers to think with the characters, investigate for ourselves and make speculations. The mysteries weren't something out of the world but it was so much fun solving them and the mechanisms, seeing how pur leads survived in different themes and the different card games! Like yeah the author could've done so much better, but I enjoyed myself nonetheless.

The side characters didn't get as much development as I wanted but they did get plenty of screentime, which is super rare too since most novels give them nothing! I thought we were also gonna get nothing around the first world weekly which pissed me off but later they all get their moments!

The romance was okayish. some say its sweet, some say its cringe but you don't get much of them except the slow development, them getting together and occasional kisses and stuff because this was mostly plot based and I appreciated it. We got three sets of extras for our 3 CPs (each if them really likeable) with plenty of dogfood after completion so I was satisfied.

The novel was long and there were, no doubt, moments when I got tored and read other stuff but even at its lowest, I didn't have the idea of dropping it cause it did match my preference.

Basically this novel was a personal preference/guilty pleasure read for me. In the start i've listed all the flaws you'll find and then i've listed the things that personally made me still like it.Will I recommend it people? Hmm... Not unless they have a preference of all the things I mentioned above like me. This will just remain in my list as a personal fav. If anyone decides to give it a try, then happy reading! <<less

It was thrilling, exhilarating, exciting The bookends the Beginning part and the conclusion were fabulous 5 stars.

I loved all the Main Characters, each have their own traits and personalities. Great team. Xiao Lou excellent MC, all the qualities that was good for this type of novel.+ The romance was super cute, it was tacit understanding and it's never awkward, it was super comfortable and so lovely to see them both fall in love, even though in this kind of environment make it more special.

Everything should've been 5 stars well here's... more>> where it was lost.

I have no problem with author skipping/speeding through rooms like 5-7 that was fine. But after the 8s, the 9s was really much easier than 8s! Then you give me basically skips for 10s, Js, Qs, Ks, doing 4 in 1 x3 and skip a whole row card? I am like there's a point to being lazy here, I was looking forward to more players confrontation and these guilds coming together and do something major. In the end nah they can just be abandoned together. I find it tough to read after the 9s started. I find more copy and paste from medical terms to history from the past making up chapters and chapters in the middle of the novel. Literally I lost in interest before it returning in the Jokers rooms. The thrill was lost for quite a while, characters interactions dropped. We were focus to do these very boring 4 in 1 rooms, with same scenarios. The author lost her patience after the 8s and start just speed up however she can, even alot of things were left unexplained. Girl what are the keepers origins, what happen to those other challengers, what happen to some people we know.. And other sorts. I was very not satisfied at this point. Sigh it could've went way better in my opinion. Author just want to spped up because I think she ran out of patience.

Overall I do love this novel, it's a recommend read for some thrills and people who like read mu*der mystries cause this novel has a TON. <<less

Look I really don’t want to write a review, especially because I haven’t finished reading the novel.

Will I ever finish it??

I’m not sure. Perhaps there will be a day where I’m deprived of actual entertainment & I’ll try to tackle Card Room again. It’s been a good 2 weeks since I’ve last read a chapter & I’ve been doing good distracting myself with other novels/manga/webtoons. I am LIVING without this novel ok. I don’t want to scare off potential readers because I wholly believe in the idea that ALL novels... more>> deserve a chance (at least like read up to 25% before dropping). But oh boy—these instances are dry.

Best of luck! <<less

I give this a 3.75

I like the overall plot and characters. The 'Manly Couple' tag should be removed though, as MC is (unfortunately) feminized more every chapter. MC is smart and logical. ML is smart, logical and strong. Two of the side characters (in original 8) stand out, while others are meh.

Like other reviewers have stated, there really is overpraise for the smartness of the MC and ML. Lot of repeated scenes of thigh hugging and lying down to win. You do roll your eyes after the nth time. There... more>> are a few inconsistencies as well. I think that because the author took a long time to write the novel, they forgot about the earlier rules? These can be overlooked for the most part. And the idea of MC and ML being the 1st out of millions (not hundreds or thousands) to pass is overly ridiculous. Most of the rooms were pretty detailed. I liked the earlier ♥️ room, but I got over that quickly. I would just skim over paragraphs for a lot of those scenes. I probably read less than 1/4 of the ♥️ train scene a la River On the Nile, for example. I couldn't get myself to care about NPC's and their drama. I enjoyed the ♠️ a lot. They were focused on the characters and it's always thrilling to see how they survive. ♣️ We're pretty alright. ♦️Were just there to highlight and praise MC. Ok to skip all of the explanations. I took forever to read the 4 in 1 K room scenario. It just dragged on so much. Though the last room was pretty fun.

Romance is slow burn. When something does happen, I think author was prob writing for teenage BG cpl and just subbed in MC and ML. This style of writing worked for the secondary cpl quite well, as top was an old beast while bottom was an innocent lamb.

I thought I would hate the real world pairing as they had gone back 3 years, and YQ was now 16 years old! But, I don't hate it. I don't know why? SQ obviously and intentionally groomed YQ (usually always icky), but I honestly wasn't mad at him. He fell in love with him when he was of age in the Card World, and he wasn't about to let his treasure get away from him after surviving so much. So I get it.

All in all, a good read with a fantastic translation. It's quite lengthy, so I'd just treat each room as a 'book' and read other novels in between. <<less
