Hi!
Just wanted to ask, as I saw you left a review on Death Scripture that you'd caught up with the mtl and finished the book, what was the ending/ what did you understand it to be? What happened to Gu Shenwei and Maid Lotus? did Gu Shenwei become a super grandmaster/ emperor or?
It has been several years since I read it, but here's what I remember.
In the end, he saves certain people who had once ordered the assassination of his family for stability of a country and its several citizens. He comes to peace with his enemies and allies alike. He gives up everything of his to his bastard son. The two women who were there by his side also attain that breath of mind. There are several people who sacrificed in his vendetta and he feels neither remorse nor happiness in that. The concept of life and death has long flown past him. You can say he has supreme strength by the end and there are very few who can reach near his level but he on a crossroad takes the path of solitude.
This novel was touching and not melodramatic. It had an end which doesn't sit well with you, for there's no proper closure but that is why it feels more natural and believable.
