It's not a bad novel and the characters are all fine imo. It's just not something deep, the story isn't as interesting but the concept of a small sect transmigrating is still fairly interesting. I would not MTL it but as it's already been translated you won't lose much by reading it, it only has 80 chapters (including extras), the chapters aren't short but the story is still fairly simple, it's supposedly an adventure but it didn't feel that adventurous imo. It's not a masterpiece but it's not a bad read either unless you don't want to waste time reading something unmemorable. If you want to kill some time or relax or something you can give it a try though. <<less

Early into the novel the MC reads a poem about if they were younger and that’s kind of what the novel feels like, it feels as if the author wrote typical youth mistakes and had the MC improve, working harder, appreciating others, maturing in general. Although one thing I have to say is that I don’t feel that the title in particular matches, 60 chapters in and I don’t feel she has been thaaat beneficial to society. She’d increase her level by very basic things such as giving her seat to a pregnant woman soooo idk. It’s more of a golden finger novel imo. Just bear in mind, the translation might not be the best, there have been 2 chapters so far where they call her Little seven (her name is Xiaoqi indeed but why translate it literally), it seems MTLed and that they forgot to edit that part or idk. <<less

Sooooo gooooood! Read it! Don’t be fooled by the description lol, it’s such a nice wholesome wonderful romance novel and it seriously needs a drama remake. I haven’t read the original story extras yet but I will get to them some day. This has become one of my favorite novels, maybe my favorite romance novel.  I’m sooo glad I read it, I had it on reading list (in c1 lol) and found it while cleaning it up, I really wasn’t expecting to like it so much, the couples are sooooo non-toxic, the scenes are beautiful, it would’ve been a great read in my teens, I thought I was tired of school romance, but even now that I’m in my 20s I found it great. The characters were relatable, I especially found the oriFL very relatable but they all are just wholesome. I think people can even learn how a non-toxic relationship looks from them lol, it’s just so sweet and they go through life. Well, they don’t show the FL and ML quarreling but it’s not as if it doesn’t exist. Idk, I just loved it haha. <<less

I just finished it, I really enjoyed it and some of the last chapters made me cry. It will remain a memorable novel to me. As for the low ratings, I guess it might be because the plot is unexpected, the novel in itself is not bad though. The description is so inaccurate though, maybe this will be a spoiler but there’s a long arc about her prison memories, that can catch readers off guard, it is not your typical silly fake daughter novel, it is far from it. If any part initially does not make sense to you as you keep reading everything will be explained, like any weird part I took notice of... more>> would eventually be explained, by the end every part I found weird or confusing was cleared, well except for something that happened in one of the last chapters  but I MTled it so idk lol. The story is great imo, but seriously from the genre tags to the description it’s painted as a different thing. So just be warned about that, I’d say it also has some sort of adventure/fantasy(?)/action elements and not in a cringy way, just… don’t expect a novel that’s just about silly family drama.  My only complaint I guess is that the author threw an extra in the middle of the novel (well not middle but after chapter 209), they kinda spoiled the ending themselves lmao, I mean not fully but yikes.

Anyway, as for the translation, it has quite some mistakes, ngl I had to aid myself MTLing because sometimes the names are wrong and I noticed an (unimportant) part missing too plus I ended up MTLing the last chapters, but if you are a bit more patient you can just way for the translation to be over, it has many mistakes but it’s understandable since it’s also veryyy fast, it will probably be done before the year ends. I liked it so I might re read some of the chapters I MTLed after they are translated. <<less

I guess it’s entertaining, I’m in c153, I don’t think it’s that good, it’s kinda generic and some parts don’t make too much sense, but it’s still entertaining to kill some time. My biggest issue with it is how weird the author writes the relationship. FL is 19, ML is like 28, idk, there’s like an 9 year gap, It’s wide but it’s legal, I wouldn’t gaf since she doesn’t act naive or immature and she’s not a loli, but the author keeps infantilizing her from the ML’s POV, like for example rn in the chapter I am in it said “Qin Ruan's childishness pleased him. She looked like a child.” And a few sentences later... more>> it says “His deep gaze roamed over Qin Ruan. Her slender waist, which he had personally measured, was delicate and alluring, and her slender legs, which were placed diagonally, touched his heartstrings. He had held them in his arms before. Although she sat like a gentle and obedient lady, in Hou Yunjiao's eyes, she had an indescribable charm.”

  Plus he talks about raising her, always highlighting how she’s a child, always calling her little girl, thinking how he will have to raise two children -  their baby and her, etc. It’s understandable seeing her as a child, 19 is very young, but a few sentences later he’s finding her alluring and whatnot, it’s so weird tbh. I can’t ship a couple with this dynamic. 

Now as of c188 I’m gonna drop it, I just don’t find it that fun, I will read something else, there’s better stuff out there. <<less

I also like how they go through set backs and keep working hard, not giving up and being there for each other. <<less

I quite like the MC, she’s kinda relatable and I like her attitude towards her system. I’ve been reading “A Girl Who Wants to Be a Beneficial Person to Society” and didn’t really like how she used her golden finger, although she worked hard and was diligent she for example participated on a swimming competition beating many people but her talent came from her system which left a sour taste in my mouth. That with months of practice + a system she beat a bunch of people that had been doing that for way longer. I was actually complaining about that to my brother and in the same day I found this novel where the MC had a very different attitude with it. She’s always self aware about her skills coming from a system, she doesn’t go bragging about them and actually uses them for good. She’s still proud of her accomplishments when she actually puts in the effort, but she’s very realistic. I also just like the story in general tbh, it’s mostly about solving cases, she transmigrated into a parallel world that has a very high crime rate. I also liked her view of love, so relatable lmao. I’m still reading this tho, and it can be a bit confusing, I don’t even bother trying to understand it so idk if it’s accurate but there are like puzzles and things like that, some are chinese based so they don’t make sense in English though. 

Oh also, about the translation, some parts are missing so I guess you could aid yourself with an MTL, it’s not that serious tho, just, if you are confused maybe it’s that. And maybe knowing a liiiittle bit of chinese could help because some parts aren’t totally translated, like in one part she was talking about a heart drawing and the translation said Aixin as if it were a person’s name. But the translations are fast so it’s worth it, it’s much more readable than the MTL. It’s not tough to read tbh, it’s just got the common traits of some MTLs but it seems edited so it’s more readable. The worst parts are just repeated sentences, those confuse me so much haha. <<less

It’s a nice read, I got bored at some point but I just kept going, the only part where I felt somewhat emotional was in the extras. It’s just a nice slice of life economic reform novel, I would’ve liked to hear more about the OG FL but I guess she was just a side character. The novel added a lot of irrelevant parts tho, like spoiler alert I guess but one of her roommates got kidnapped, she was then found and dropped out to move abroad to recover and then they didn’t meet again, I have no idea why the author even added that. I was partly hoping to see why tf the author added that thinking maybe she’d thrive abroad and then they would reconnect or something but no, they just gave some closure by another roomate saying she seemed to have seen someone that looked like her abroad and that she had married, etc. I… don’t see how that whole thing was necessary. The MC didn’t want to interact much with oriFL in case she got implicated in some drama but I guess that’s somewhat how I feel about the MC, because what was the point of the roommate being kidnapped? In a way the story didn’t have much angst, most of the entertainment came from issues from the other characters and the MC self improvement. In a way that’s good I guess, less drama surrounding the main characters, I would’ve been annoyed if everywhere they went people schemed towards their relationship. There were some jealous people but it wasn’t too bad plus they married early on and never had relationship issues. I liked how time progressed, it flew so quickly but that’s just life, one day you are a student, then before you realize you are graduating, you have a full time job, you have responsibilities.

Besides that I guess one of my pet peeves are these kind of MLs that prioritize the FL above the child, I find that behavior childish. It wasn’t too bad here  and they were rich and treated the children well, but I don’t like that trope and I just wanted to comment about that lol. That whole thing of being jealous of the child, saying that the partner will always come 1st, etc. is just ridiculous imo. Idk if that’s common in chinese culture because I’ve seen many CN LN couples like that, but idk, couples can divorce but you will still have your child, idk why you wouldn’t make your children your #1.  <<less

 There’s a lot of food p*rn, I personally don’t like so much food descriptions in novels but that’s just my personal taste - I am not interested in those dishes plus I’m a vegetarian lol. If you like foodie novels you will probably enjoy it. I am enjoying it despite not loving foodie novels, it’s just a nice slice of life. Even tho the ML is super rich as all MLs are so far he doesn’t feel like those annoying MLs that only bring trouble or drama with their background, he’s very down to earth and so far their relationship has been with no drama, I hope it stays that way. I agree with the translator, give us a less rich ML!

I also hadn’t read a protagonist fall in love at first sight novel in a while, and I liked it here. <<less
