The novel is set in the entertainment industry. With the MC being an entertainment company and the ML being an up-and-coming artist. The romance and development of the characters were the main focus. With lots of uniquely non-painful misunderstandings as ML fails at comprehending the ABO world lolol. I can see now why it's so well-liked! The tone is very sweet and soft. There's no angst, so it's healing rather than painful (unlike most other ABO novels). The translation from RB is good too! So, definitely worth the read. <<less

Based on the summary, I was 100% expecting that it would be a hardcore e-sports gameplay novel filled with lots of angst LOLOL. In the end, I was completely in the wrong pfft! The Main Plot: The MC (Shi Luo) finds out that his ex-captain (the ML: Yu Sui) is coming back from Europe. Based on gossip, the two have an irreconcilable relationship. So the story is pretty intense in the beginning, there's lots of mystery about the truth of the matter, which prompts flashbacks that call back to what truly happened and the truth about their relationship — which is a lot... more>> more dependent that it initially appears!

As mentioned by many other reviewers, the first 30 or so chapters of this novel are full of knives. But once the truth has been revealed, the mood clears up and the romance turns from bittersweet to soft fluff~ The two main characters are pretty interesting. We have a boy-next-door type of ML who everyone thinks is a slag man but has a soft and squishy heart. Then there's the tsundere and rebellious MC whose face is as thin as paper! The gameplay does feature a bit, but I found that aspect not so interesting this time around. Mainly because the author placed more of an emphasis on the characters and their growth.

All in all, highly recommend! I didn't end up finishing it cause I was happy where the romance left off and not all that interested about the external plot (the competition), but my view of the novel is still pretty positive. The TL is good too, so there's no reason not to at least give it a shot! <<less

[Slice of Life, Entertainment, Romance] This novel is quite cute, and there are lots to like about it, but in the end, I had to drop it T.T not because of any sense of dislike, just because I was recommended another I really want to read and the sweet vibe of this novel--without too many ups and downs--is more of a self-indulgent read than anything else. As for the main premise? Ah, it's romance-centric! Slow burn. The MC is introduced to a game by his dorm mate and ends up running into the insufferable dork that is the ML. After witnessing the MC's skills and hearing his girly voice, the ML is inexplicably attracted... more>> and decides to add him as a friend to the game. By virtue of fate, even though the MC had no intention of meeting up with the annoying anchor (the ML) ever again, they find their way to each other again and again, though there are lots of potholes along the way.

And so there you go! There is some drama with the ML's career as an anchor. And, of course, because their meeting happens through the internet, there are lots of identity mishaps... lolol. But the story is mainly chill and sweet. Definitely slice of life. The thing that makes it so fun to read are the MC and ML's unique character profiles. They're both cute and hilarious in their own ways -- super charming!! The TL is good too. CG explains a lot of the game mechanics (which do come into play, and in detail too -- though it's not the focus of the story). Definitely highly recommended if you're looking to chill and watch two cute idiots fall in love. <<less

The story is set in the interstellar era, but there are some fantasy elements mixed in, like the fact that people can awaken to bloodlines that can affect their desires and urges. In the case of our MC (Cui Qichao), he awakened an ancient bloodline from an emperor that farmed for the sake of his people -- as such, all of his actions were driven by the urge to claim land to farm for the sake of his subjects LOL. In order to appease his instincts (which... more>> is impossible in the heavily crowded interstellar era), he decides to sign up for a virtual broadcasting company that will allow him to hunker down in different worlds to farm.

I recommend that you read it if you're looking for something funny and casual. There's lots of foodp*rn too, so that's a plus for all the foodies out there. Other than that? I found the lengths of each arc to be pretty good, even though some parts dragged a bit, there was always something new to enjoy in all the different worlds (despite the continuous farming theme). When the MC was dropped into the role of demon king, it's without any of the original's memories. Oh, and the lower realm is also facing a large debt after losing a war against the Church and the Human Empires. Fortunately, the MC has a golden finger! This golden finger is his cellphone, which can be recharged and is always connected to the internet -- giving the MC direct access to the modern world's technologies and knowledge.Ahhhh I love this kind of worldbuilding novel~ And this one is fun because it takes lots of culture and knowledge from all over the world. To begin with, there are lots of movie and anime references (as well as novel references), and the author is always throwing out shocking, obscure facts by way of humorous exposition (the MC is very humorous in general). The only downside is that the development of characters and relationships is not a focus. There are great characters in the novels -- all of whom play their own roles sooner or later -- but they're most self-aware than most, so they don't have to go through too much polishing. The MC is also mainly focused on developing the lower realms with modern culture, so the perspective is definitely skewed.Overall, I recommend this novel if you're interested in infrastructure or poor-to-rich development, as I like to call it. The translation is of good quality, so there's no reason not to read it! It's also almost complete too (which is why I started reading it in the first place, hehe.)(Update: 12/26/2022) I reread the first 80 chapters and then skipped to where I was before (c182). The MC (Tao Mu) ends his first life in complete misery after being brought down by the people he thought were on his side. As such, he welcomes his new life with every intention to live better. Unlike some novels though, his main focus is not on revenge. It's to stay away from the bad elements in his previous life — especially after discovering that he wasn't the protagonist of the story, and that even fate seemed to be working against him.

The MC of this novel is the perfect-Gary-Stue type. He starts off very strong in terms of skills, and only continues to make himself stronger by taking advantage of his foreknowledge. The ML (Li Xiaoheng) is equally powerful, though not in the usual overbearing president way. This CP takes a more mature route in romance, especially since most of the novel is focused on the MC's growth. If you enjoy novels where the main character levels up constantly in terms of reputation, wealth, abilities, etc. Then this is definitely a novel to check out! It's a bit long-winded, and there are many characters and things that are kind of put aside and forgotten over time (a shame), but it's still pretty good in keeping the more important things consistent.

All in all, though the novel is a bit clumsy in some areas, I definitely would recommend it to my friends~ To add to this, the TL is pretty good (and although it's currently unfinished, the MTL is 85-90% readable — which is surprising!! But yeah, the MTL is better than most, so you don't have to worry about missing out.) <<less

He goes into it with teeth gritted and mounting psychological shadows. Based on the summary and the book cover, it almost seems like this is 100% spicy. When, in fact, the smut is only 25% of the content. It’s not a mast*rbatory work, that’s for sure. The smut is explicit, but the ‘professional atmosphere’ gives it a distinct ascetic feel. Put simply, this is more about the fast-paced sweet and fluffy love than anything else! Based on the character’s, I had thought it would have lots of knives, but nope. It’s pretty much mostly up and up. With just the slightest bit of drama and angst. Like, so slight that it’s as thin as needle.

If you’re at the right age, I definitely recommend that you give it a shot! Don’t hesitate for so long like it did LOLOL, I guarantee that it’s a lot more wholesome than it initially appears. <<less

There are a lot more knives than I thought there would be, so the reading experience isn't very chill at all. The characters are also rather frustrating at times—though one could argue that that makes them more real, the character growth is also a bit lacking in the end—but I still ended up being fond of them.

I've seen many other reviews being disappointed because, compared to the author's other well-known work "How to Fail at Online Dating" this is definitely a bit lacking. I agree, I definitely prefer the author's other work more, but this novel is pretty okay too, so I recommend giving it a chance. At the very least, the setting is really good. The author does a good job setting up the MC's live-streams. Though a good chunk of the credit should probably go to the TL-ers at CG, who provided lots of helpful footnotes for fans unfamiliar with the gameplay! <<less

I didn’t end up finishing it cause I fell asleep just before the end *sneezingface* and couldn’t pluck up enough interest after waking up, but I did enjoy the story as a late night casual read. There wasn’t anything too complicated in it, so I could read it before sleeping without worrying about being so anxious I couldn’t put it down. The characters are relative simple as well. The MC is the strong-willed and hardworking type of shou, while the ML is your usual stoic and overbearing gong. The romance was relatively fast-paced, though one can blame the length of the novel for that LOLOL. And as for the setting. Well, it’s not really covered in detail and isn’t the focus of the story. The MC is an actor and the ML is an e-sports player, it’s a fact but it doesn’t drive the plot much outside of blocking the romance for a bit.

All in all... ? If you’re looking for something simple and sweet, I say give it a try! The TL is good so there’s nothing to worry about there. Oh! There is a GxB CP, but it’s a side one and I thought it was actually a bit cute *thumbsup*. <<less

Also, the entertainment factor is very plain with nothing to looking forward to. All you’ve got left is the romance. But the fake marriage aspect is also very genetically played…. XD SOOO in conclusion? It’s kind of boring. Nothing too bad, but nothing too good either. If what you’re looking for is a casual read about a hot ML and a perfect MC living a sweet and sweet life. This is the first arc, and the main characters of said arc are the CP of this novel. After which, more and more side characters are introduced to fill in this rather large entertainment world. I found it interesting, but not to the point that I could patiently read it while not multi-tasking. So, after I finished painting for the day, I ended up dropping the novel *sneezing-face*. I'll pick it up another day! When I'm up for a longer painting/gaming session. I think it's a great casual read, and definitely worth the try. It's definitely not perfect, and if I were to rate it now, based only on the chapters I've read, my official rating would probably only range somewhere between 3-3.65 out of 5 stars (which is about average for me).
