Colonel K is a legend of the Omar Empire. He single-handedly destroyed the Star Pirates Warship, with mercilessness and cruelty, and everybody trembled at the mention of him. Lan Yu, dignified and elegant, the model of thousands of Omegas, mistakenly became the black-hearted Colonel K.

In order to keep the persona from falling apart, from then on he punches the intergalactic beasts and kicks the bandits’ out of their nests, tore a mecha to pieces with his bare hands, and the corners of his lips picked up in a cold smile. As an Omega who is thinking about getting a husband and having a child, Lan Yu feels like he’s suffocating.

But the good thing is that he was once a movie star, with his amazing acting skills, no one noticed any difference between him and Colonel K, whose name was used to stop children from crying.

Except for his nasty rival, Lu RanKong.

Lu RanKong could always find the “Interstellar Butcher” Colonel K’s unnoticeable changes.

With the corpses of Star Pirates under his feet, the ion gun leaning on his shoulder, his hand on his hand-knitted woolen holster. With the wind still in his face, a corner of his uniform’s shirt lifted, showing an embroidered yellow flower. With skin scuffed fingers, a grim, bloodthirsty smile, his eyes filled with tears.

At night, he would only fall asleep if he was holding a teddy bear? He drank the nutritional supplements with no expression, but the bottle was labeled with ‘orange’ and ‘mango’ flavors.

Lu RanKong slightly narrowed his eyes. Why did this black-hearted K become more and more like a ♥ K?

Good writing, funny and sweet couple. Packed with action, not boring but not perfect. If you analyze the book, yes it can be improved plenty but overall was quite entertaining and engaging and the couple’s interactions were interesting. I don’t usually read A/O stories as the lack of balance in how the relationships are portrayed are disturbing for me and seem deeply unhealthy but this one surprised me. The omega is awesome! He’s not there just to be an omega for the alpha, he’s his own person and quite badass.... more>> And the alpha is awesome too, not at all a brainless walking tank of testosterone, he’s great. Loved this. Sure, some plot holes, some not well thought detective plots but. It’s not a sherlock holmes story, not a heavy read either, just awesome for passing time. An entertaining book with two awesome main leads that have a sweet romance amid some gunfire and interstellar chase while bickering like two overgrown kids. <<less

I really really enjoyed this story. It is super fluffy and the banter betweens the MC and ML is so good. The ML is one of the best MLs to me ever. I love this whole story very much and will definitely reread this!

Super cute and fluffy tbh!!! Enjoyed the whole novel. Though there were minor plot holes along the way, it was not that bad.

tbh... I really really enjoyed the scene where the ML helps the MC to give birth AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. Like i've never seen such a situation before so it really amazed me and I felt like oh damnnnnnn they're so cute 🥲🤭

Honestly, I thought this was okay. I don’t feel passionately about it but I also didn’t hate it.

The plot itself was actually fairly well done, I thought the plot twists and turns were pretty good. The villain was well thought out, though their motives were fairly one-dimensional.

The characters were okay, I really liked the ML at first but then his personality changed quite a bit after falling for MC. Originally, he was kind of narcissistic, a little sloppy, had a sense of humor, and was fairly well-informed with regards to his job. He also had his own hobbies, which are consistent with his character. Admittedly, I would still consider him to have a personality post-falling-in-love, but he becomes more of a dumb, husky type gong. I preferred his dynamic with MC when they would bicker but still obviously care about each other. It was more interesting and well-rounded. Oh well, the author obviously got bored of it.

MC is also okay, he’s more of tsundere that likes cute things. Not my favorite character trope but not my least favorite either.

Overall, I would recommend this novel. It does have a pretty good plot line to it. I probably won’t reread though. <<less

Action-Heavy ABO set in a futuristic world. The MC is an Omega actor that’s just recently decided that it was time for him to take a break and find a husband to have a family with. Unfortunately, before he could do so, he transmigrates into Colonel K. An Omega from the future that’s in hiding as an Alpha.

The story is mission oriented. There’s an overarching plot over everything, and everything plays second fiddle to that. Throughout the course of solving the riddles caused by the big mission, the MC meets... more>> the ML, who is also a Colonel, and the two hit it off! Light in tone. Lots of humor. Recommended for the characters and relationship dynamics (gosh I love the bickering of these two idiots). I’m not a fan of action-heavy case stories so I skimmed a lot and ended up being bored by the end, but even if you’re in the same boat, I recommend trying it out for the sweet and funny CP!

CHARACTERS: 9.5/10

The characters in this story are all very lively. Everyone has their own quirks, and the main CP had a lot of hidden depths. If there’s anything to complain about, it’s the way the author made both the main CP act oddly (when usually they’re very open) when it came to their secrets for plot convenience.

Lan Yu (MC)

The MC is, amusingly, mainly the stereotypic type of Omega. He’s soft and likes equally soft things. Him pretending to be the Mad Dog Colonel K is extremely hilarious, and made for lots of great moments in the beginning. His main weapon is his acting skills 😂.

Lu Rankong (ML)

Pretty removed from your usual ML. He’s overbearing and possessive, but his personality is lighter and has a tendency towards naïveté and sweetness, making this pair super fluffy in my eyes LOL. He’s pretty shameless and very hard-headed.

ROMANCE: 9/10

The bickering couple factor / enemies-to-lover trope is played very well in this story, Ah! I really loved the initial development of the romance, and it continued to be sweet when it was finally established.

The main premise of this subplot is that K and Lu Rankong never got along before (cause K never got along with anyone). The MC hiding his identity also makes things filled with even more wild shenanigans. All in all? Very fun! Only reason I gave it a 9 rather than a 9.5 like I planned is because I thought the author’s stalling of the reveals cheapened their relationship a bit.

SETTING: 8.75/10

This is an interstellar setting but not as advanced as most I’ve seen. The ABO elements are also pretty subtle, since advanced medication keeps most things in the background. The setting mostly explores the alien physiology of the main villains and various locations for their mission. Nothing too complicated, so I’m ambivalent towards it.

PLOT: 8.5/10

The main focus of the plot is the issue with a race of aliens capable of burrowing inside of a person’s mind and controlling their body. The Main CP’s job in the novel is to expose and defeat these aliens while uncovering their own secret pasts. It’s a bit too action-heavy for me, and I got bored easily because it was basically a repeat each time “You need to the Alien” “Not This One” “Then it’s this one!!” LOLOL

RATING: 4.5/5

I can see why everyone likes this novel so much! While I wasn’t a fan of the main plot, the romance subplot made it worth the time invested~ The main premise (Soft Omega pretending to be Mad Dog K) was also hilarious LOLOL. Definitely worth the reread and something I can highly recommend.

RANDOM THOUGHTS:

  • Personal Enjoyment: 5/5 at first, especially the first half, which had a lot of romance building. 3.5/5 in the second half because that was mostly plot at that point.
  • Literary Level: The TL isn’t the cleanest so I can’t say much about the writing, but the pacing is pretty good! It was slow at first to allow the main CP to interact on-screen and build-up chemistry. It sped up at the end to match the action scenes.
  • Heat Level: Nothing happens on-screen. And even the kisses are very subtle. So, outside of a couple jokes, it’s very clean! 0.5/5.

Highly entertaining read, filled with thrilling action and suspense, just like a good action movie. Since this is an action adventure genre, it is inevitable that it would be very plot-driven and some instances does feel plot-contrived but overall, a coherent story with coherent characters. The personalities of the 2 protags was what I enjoyed the most in this novel. I loved beauty-products-obsessed K and silly doggy ML. Follow these 2 handsome Colonels from one dangerous mission to the next, going undercover and heroically saving people and at the same... more>> time, slowly unravel the mystery of their past and hopefully achieve a possible future together as a couple. This novel is worthy of a drama or donghua adaptation. <<less

3.5/5 Adventurous story with a pinch of fluffy romance. Sometimes the plot is a bit dragged with many filler plot, and I mostly skipped through it., but overall a nice novel to pass through your time :)

It was a good reading for me even if I'm not a fan of ABO's world, The people are not dictated by lust and they can control their nature.

I very like the consistency of the MC, he is an actor, not the psychopath military man K so he is scared and don't know the basics. The interaction between the MC and the ML is sweet and funny, with no bloody drama and misunderstanding and "you lie so I leave you" act when they got together.

There may be (no, there are)... more>> flaws in the plot but the story is good in general, a bit of a pace's loss in the middle part-end of the story with the longtan people. <<less

Keep in mind before you read that the author didn't actually plan out the story while writing this, so there might be some logical flaws. However, this is mostly a sweet little love story with bits of humor sprinkled in it. 5 stars for me who enjoyed it quite thoroughly.

Entered to my list of favorites. The plot is sweet, the development of one's feelings for each other is progressive and logical, there is nothing instantaneous. |The background storia is very well built and organizeded. I love the progress of their relationship, was kind and soft. The ML loves so much the MC and vice versa, its so beautifull to look at.

I liked how Lan Yu and Lu Rankong started each other and a bit sad that the omega part wasnt confessed properly cause something always happens to expose it hahahha but the exposing part was unique and I like how LRK can go inside LY head heheh with the pregnancy and the heat, sigh, hope all hahahah I like LRK honesty and straightforwardness. I liked their first meeting, their prison scenes, I actually liked everything about this. Maybe wanted more chapters about the events after lontan people but the extras and ending were satisfying, I just like them so much, I like their characters so ofc i'd want more of them. I kinds guessed the think with k and LY but I still liked it and I like how they said that the prev world was real cause after reading 'Surprise! Etc, and the generals vampire omega, their transmigration are both faked so it was nice that this one was considered real. I liked how this was mysterious and solving but the romance is also perfect, we also had good characters like luo yang. I love the kids and lol LY actually already said what his future kids would be. I have always like strong/powerful but cute omegas/shou so I really liked this, I have no negative comment, I finished this so fast cause everything was interesting. Oh I guess one thing was shu yu's identities first appearance? Cause it kinda felt like he was different from lan yu so I was a bit apprehensive when he was first mentioned though it was obv that he would turn out to be LY, but I guess I wanted a different introduction cause I dissociated him with Ly, or maybe its just me hahahha anw it was just a small thing. I loved how everything was connected in the end hehe

I liked in the beginin with the K-real persona contast, idk I just tought it was pretty funny and I really enjoyed k being really mean and it working even if MC didnt want to be mean, but when he begun to being closer to ML he droped the act, and I get it you cant "act" 24/7 but he forgot all about acting completelly, even the "cut" thing and being an actor as a whole for a few chapters until the mind reading-invation stuff, then he remembered

I'm not sure if MC was cute or anoying with the cream thing, I mean yeah you are a movie Star and an Omega and care for your looks but... Wherent you smarter than that?? Whining for that in the midle of a life-death crisis made my eyes hurt while reading and also lowered My expectations for MC sadly, so by the end when he said he wanted to drop his acting career and everything for the sake of having Kids and taking care of his family and him doing all the oposite well I was kind of expecting it (nothing wrong with him doing what he wants but... The whole point of the story was him having a family and stop pretending so how did he ended up being k consultant in the military for ever??)

WHAT A VERY NICE NOVEL!!. Many plot twist. At first our couple clashes at each other but gradually became closer. Our MC is very hardworking and ML is very doting especially when they accepted each other. Their kinda failed 1st date thoughxD MC also dotes on ML if he has the chance. The MC estrus episode huhu it's very hard and ml's heart also aches for his partner. You can see how ML loves MC with how he moved during mc's dangerous estrus and MC's pregnancy!!!! Their little convo about... more>> the story of a "boy"xD the characters are nicely made and the story build up is very interesting. Though it was vague about MC grandfather but anyways that's in the past and they got their happy ending. <<less

Cool, cute abo with no degrading language towards omega, interesting mystery and undercover work and many funny moments between ML and MC. MC is an omega pretending to be an alpha in the military and having to go undercover with ML. He lost his memories and doesn't know why he's in the military, and his omega nature make him skirmish at many military things. Yet, his omega nature is also what helped him during his undercover. Overall, interesting and cute.

Great start and great ending

One of the unique instellar ABO novel I have read

It was a plot driven story with right amount of romance. The MC and ML relationship development is great and funny. The confession is really sweet

The respect for one another is there and I like how the MC explain that eventhough they are lovers, he was still his companion in army so ML shouldn't limit the MC (ofcourse ML understood and let him be)

It was great especially the prison arc

Among the novels I've read in the past year, this has left an indelible mark on me. And, though, it did not leave me shell-schocked for days, it did give me a light feeling I carried in my heart.

The trope for this particular setting - an omega pretending to be an alpha in the military - is not particurly new in the genre. There has been a slew of such characters and settings well within this slice of heaven. What made VODVC stand out was in the way it presented... more>> the characters and the romance it wanted to portray.

The world building is a little arbitrary, it pulls from the genre of yaoi sci/fi while also bringing about an alien enemy trope in it. We cannot argue xenophobia, as the later half of the novel does allow you for a more in-depth look at a liberal, more cooperative undertaking of the topic. In other words, not all aliens are bad.

The main lead is not overly hard or soft, there is no cynicism to his role. He had happened to have come into circumstances he has no control over. Then, he plays a role, as he knows how to do best, in order to survive. It is in this frame of mind that he tries to build a life for himself with what little he knows. He makes space to dream, create and re-orient himself with this strange world. It's endearing and a very hopeful approach.

The male lead is very novel. Slovenly, sincere, casual and playful; he is the complete opposite of the image the male lead projects. He is presented to be an honest man who lives authentically. It is because of this that he is well-liked. It is this authenticity that comes into question the more our main lead comes into contact with him. We are suspicious, as he is suspicious of our main character, about how much actual weight his words and actions hold.

In the end, both are authentic despite having hidden some parts of themselves.

One is hiding the otherness he feels in this world and in his body while dodging suspicion of being an alien in another's skin. The other is hiding the status he wants to shed and the familial relation he wants to escape from.

Naturally, it is resolved in the last fifth of the novel and presented with a small bow.

There are many things to praise this novel for but the fast pace of the store does compress a lot of the emotional and romantic development that could have been explored and written more vividly. I do appreciate the actual inclusion of the element of childbirth (we always welcome a good fat piece of fluff in the genre) but it felt more like a bonus than an integral part of the whole narrative.

I did immensely enjoy the last chapter. Its inclusion made me hope for another piece related to this about its main cast as it would give the author a chance to explore the world from a different lense. <<less

Not a bad read. If you’re in the mood of some brainless light hearted reading then this is the one for you. There’s romance and action and some comedy (although I don’t really like the timing of some of the comedy). You just need to enjoy it mindlessly and not take it seriously coz there’s a lot of logical fallacies that will frustrate you if you think further. Don’t expect the MC and ML to be super intelligent and badass coz most of the time they’re just winging it... more>> (especially the MC who doesn’t the know the first thing about being a Colonel but gets by with his ‘acting’). There also a lot of points where they make s*upid mistakes because ‘plot’ but like I said it’s the kind of novel where you don’t think hard and expect tight storytelling. The romance is the best part for me and honestly the thing that keeps me reading. <<less

Because of some spatial rift, MC shou has to pretend to be the colonel and it’s so cute to see how MC relies on his movie emperor level acting to get by. And he has to go on all kinds of dangerous missions with the ML gong.

On the surface, ML acts like a player, unreliable and slightly chauvinistic Alpha but he’s actually very sweet and down-to-earth. And despite his prejudice against MC, he takes cares of MC when he realises that MC is kind of dense.

Overall, their relationship is very very sweet and it’s just the right level of “I hide secrets from you” and “I’m jealous!!!” that makes the novel absolutely worth reading <<less
