On her birthday, Jiang Yumo discovered that she was living in a campus novel, and she was the first love of the male lead’s rival, Duan Ye.

Both the male lead and Duan Ye were notorious troublemakers in Fifth High School. They wouldn’t even look at each other and were considered deadly rivals.

Under the influence of the rational and intelligent female lead, the male protagonist returned to his family and inherited a multi-billion-yuan business, becoming the successful Young Master Zhou.

On the other hand, Duan Ye came from an ordinary family, had poor grades, and was too lazy to attend university. After graduation, he opened a car repair shop to make a living. Unlike the beautiful love story between the male and female leads, Duan Ye and his first love broke up countless times, leading some readers to sigh that this was the realistic outcome for underachieving students.

Jiang Yumo : ?

***

Duan Ye noticed that Jiang Yumo had been acting a bit strange lately. She would either ask him to copy her notes, but end up getting sick from doing the exercises by herself, or suggest that he help her become the first batch of online celebrities, and ask all his friends to follow and comment on her posts…

He had no choice but to accompany her.

However, he never thought that she would suddenly try to flatter a dog man named Zhou Ji.

Duan Ye : I’m a man, I can’t stand it!

Seeing his angry expression, she tentatively asked, “If I don’t go, can you try to flatter him instead?”

Duan Ye : I’m going to f*cking kill Zhou Ji 🙂

Beautiful story. For some reason, despite not having any major ups and downs, this was still a very engaging read. I guess that's the difference between a well-written (and well-translated) story and one that's not. Easy read.

Cute love story. I really like the conclusion for both of their parallel story. The dedication and determination of the ML at the young age should be applauded. He really know what he wants in his life. As for the FL, I also like her character. Her attitude in life, relationship with her family, friend and ML are so pure.

Really recommend to all of you to read. ☺️

I would call this "reasonable people have a nice high school life". Every single possible s*upid misunderstanding is handled by actually talking things out, characters react like actual people without dragging issues on for months, story is nice and cute. MC doesn't immediately have 30 different ways of becoming a millionaire due to knowing the future, just wants to have a low-key happy life. A great read!

I will not rate this book since I've not finished (yet). My second attempt at this book. I am only about 5 chapters in and I realized why I had given up on this book the first time around. The author makes ML sound like some type of an ogre and the FL as goody-goody princess spreading sunshine type. FL so far is pushing herself to be with ML (ex: she has "no choice but to sit next to him" in her birthday party) and this is making me uncomfortable... more>> to read. I feel like this couple is going to be unbalanced in emotional investment wise. I think ML may be more invested in the relation than FL sadly. Makes me weary to read more. I will read few more chapters and see if I can persevere this time around.

Edit: Chapter 22. I am going to have to take a break from this book. I am having a hard time accepting that ML, this big bad wolf is a pitiful dog waging his tail begging for FL to throw leftover food at him to cherish 😞 I like it better when both leads have equal investment in the relationship and not lose their own personality just to please the other. In this case ML is too humble and has no personality of his own. He would do pretty much anything for her, what FL likes is what ML likes, what FL asks is what ML does, while FL probably won't do more than frown if ML drops dead. I like it when FL also dotes and defends ML just as much as ML does (remember how FL in "Rebirth at the doors of civil affairs defends ML even from her own BFFs? Like that). Still I trust fellow reviewers, maybe this book will get better later, but for now, I'll have to pause and take a break from this. <<less

There's no dog-blood drama, no complicated relationships, no face-slapping.

The story really sets itself apart from other romance novels with one single aspect - the plot can be summarised with one word: Love.
