READING THIS WAS LIKE EATING UP AN ENTIRE JAR OF CANDY. It also portrayed the dark side of the society they lived in, which made it more interesting to read. The MC and ML's relationship was so sweet and pure it felt like sunshine in a dark and gloomy world.

The only downside is that I could read another 50 or so chapters of them. 😭😭 10/10 translation!!!!

Gosh, this novel is just so sweet! As sweet as the words of ahem”unconscious flirtation / seduction “ arrowed through ML heart as well as the readers! Our MC is so pitiful, but ML warmhearted help him to open up about love. The world setting I imagine around sixteen century (I gages from marie antonette/ parfume / les miserable movie) because they mentioned powdered face, puffed hairdo, sewage road and perfumes and those nobles games, and those poor miserable lives of those days) yup.

Beautiful love story, the cheesy and sappy romantic lines had me grasping at my chest like some sort of frail maiden. I think it was good but there are a couple things that I think that could have been improved, such as Jian Qiao’s motivations in regards to his town, he wants them to live well but this is thrown onto the backburner very quickly. I also would like to see a more fleshed out ending with more of Jian Qiao explaining his past, just a few lines and a... more>> happy ending made it feel quite rushed.

In terms of character development, a lot of it went to Rege in the main story and Jian Qiao barely improves until later. Unfortunately he’s still stuck in his trauma and past and so it takes the large fanfare that happens during the ending scenes to actually force him to change. I would have liked to see a bit more natural character development for him, but the again, years and years of trauma would probably take a hundred pages of healing to take place, since it’s medieval times I can understand the more dramatic soap-opera type of ending.

It left me wanting more, and while I do think it could be improved I still really like the story a lot, especially Jian Qiao’s honey-laden mouth. <<less

Sweet, so sweet its cheesy at times and the MC doesn't realise how sweet he is being which is kinda funny. It was fun to read, I cant complain.

I wish it was longer. I was happily reading till suddenly I reached the end. Its missing an extra or 2 and so seems kinda an abrupt happy ending.

This is so sweet, but just the right amount. This ticked all of my boxes of hurt and comfort genre that I miss so much reading.
