I have a mixed opinion on this based on the prologue.

While the premise seems good, the translation itself could be better. It suffers from frequent tense switches instead of staying in past tense, and some paragraphs aren't properly separated with a line of empty space and are instead glued together.

I know it's early to judge, which is why I did not judge the story itself, only the text's errors in grammar/spelling/punctuation/tenses/etc.

A round of editing would make my rating go up.

(Updated) : I anxiously await every translated chapter of this story.

I think it's pretty atypical for villain reincarnation stories: the original soul has already committed horrid things, and not only that, the MC has to maintain this facade. It's not exactly a case of trying to get into the hero's good graces; rather, the MC wants to accept justice and would accept the death of this villain's (and his) body. But things don't go according to plan.

I really like the MC; he's not clumsy or s*upid. He thinks through... more>> the plot's events and acts accordingly, but he's not overly manipulative either. There's a good dash of angst, and the more sexy scenes are pretty hot. This sets the bar high for villain stories for me. <<less

I really tried to like this novel. It had an unique start with the guy already having done most of the horrific deeds and I was pretty eager to see how he would solve those issues. But I was sorely disappointed.

The inner monologue of the MC is very very exhaustive to read. Its more like an english lesson where the teacher insists on explaining line by line though it's pretty clear. We know you're horrified MC but please do focus on other things that just that.

The ML, I really don't... more>> know. He seemed more like a cannon folded and less like an actual character. And the plot, it was.... boring. I had high expectations for this one and I got fooled yet again. <<less

MC has such a realistic thought process that I would kiss him if I could! Compared to every other novel MC, he actually has problem solving skills, even if they do revolve around how to kill himself without inconveniencing others.

Speaking of killing himself, the plot in general does revolve around MCs death wish, in that his whole plan was created because of it, but there was an honestly underwhelming amount of actual suicidal thought for an MC who planned out his first su*cide to the point that he did.

If you... more>> asked me when his su*cide plot comes up I would honestly only be able to tell you that it comes up only at the very start when he commits su*cide, and then plans his 2nd one.

thats it.

after that there are vague mentions of needing to do this or that to accomplish [insert goal] to be able to create the right conditions to commit su*cide. Just the vaguest of vaguest reminders of why MC is doing what he is (which isnt because he has a hero complex! Woo!!!)

Romance was super underdeveloped, ML saw a scene and went "damn I want that", and MC learned that he saw a scene and went "oh sh*t he saw that" and then near the end ML went "haha! Ur plan is done!! Now I will f*ck u!" and MC went "wtf no" and escaped and then repeat the last part at the end of the story except MC went "well sh*t u threatened me with su*cide so I guess im kinda okay with my cherry being popped" and that was that.

Explained in the worst way possible but thats just how plain the "romance" was. I dont even know if I can count as romance?

Overall, dont read for romance, su*cide isnt really mentioned alot aside from being the driving force behind MCs plans. Reminds me more of Code Geass than any romance novel tbh, though I dont know if thats because of the royalty theme or the "MC whose plan revolves around his own death" thing.

Good read but maybe skip if youre looking for any actual romance. <<less

it's interesting... kinda difficult to write review about this story.. the MC blames himself too much, but actually nobody can judge anyone whether the other thinks too much or not.. so my feelings kinda mixed.. I read the syosetsu version so I kinda skimmed through the extra stories, but up to the end of the main story, the ending is.. unique.. maybe I should have read the extra stories carefully as I did with the main story. From the beginning to the arc finale was quite good though.. just the... more>> finishing didn't sit quite right with me.

it's just 40 or so chapters so it ended soon, and each chapter is on reasonable length, so overall it was a good read <<less

First, the translator did a really good job, it was a smooth read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

And the novel was enjoyable, until MC and ML actually got together... A non con tag really needs to be added. Because—

Spoiler

ML really doesn't give MC any choice in the matter. Honestly, his behavior at the end is so different it almost feels like ooc. The ML had been portrayed as a good person, someone too good for their own sake, but suddenly he is a sadist??

We get several of his povs and they are so off to read. Him thinking and talking about punishment. Ugh. MC is the one with a body who gets involuntary turned on my other's misery and hatered, how did the s*x scenes become ML getting turned on by mc's tears?

Moreover, the ML is so self centered and jealous... MC literally ends the novel depressed, and all ML can think about is MC needing to earn his forgiveness for not confiding/relying on him with that, like what? And in response to mc's suicidalness he f*cks him so wildly that afterwards it looks like he has assaulted him?? He's so far from what MC needs that it's almost laughable. Almost. Not to mention MC is pretty much locked up with his life in ml's hands... MC is okay with it, but with how the ML is being, I can see this relationship turn completely abusive so easily... It's scary. And really not how I wanted his good novel to end.

I like the story a lot. Especially the tension of the MC with the other characters. My absolute favorite thing though is how even one small detail (like something only mentioned once in a previous chapter) came into play towards the latter part (and I guess Im just a slow person in general but it surprised me alot). Hope to read more in the future.

Uhm... hmm...
I think that.. the love Craig has is so heavy and deep... that it feels unbelievable because there haven’t been much between them in that sense?

Spoiler

even Heinreid MC thought it might be the rollercoaster effect or something

[collapse]

The ending
Spoiler

of course it’s hard to think of a nice happy ending between a depressed, full of guilt, and suicidal MC and an overbearing heavy lover... But the ending was kind of bitter I guess.. I’m not sure if they’re even happy in this relationship/ending...

[collapse]

Spoiler

MC kinda annoyed me a little :/ I cried when he saw a glimpse of his sister and mother whom he left after commiting su*cide and saw how broken they were and what was his conclusion from all that? “How dare I try to run away, I am just a coward, a LOSER, Yes. I don’t even deserve death. I know I will stay alive to suffer and pay for my sins (which his body did, not him) And on that note!! Why is he so quick to judge that he is actually Heinreid????!!! Usually people would think to be two separate entities but you just assumed? you are him? Ay this is what its like reading about a depressed MC like don’t expect any happy stuff...

This is good! It has it's flaws in terms of writing style, but it was a good experience overall. The angst felt nice. I don't know what will happen in the next few chapters, but the first half of the novel definitely got my heart racing!!! 😍 It's a little bit different from the typical isekai-transmigration into villain- story. It's refreshing and the fact that it's not a harem is a plus point. I can't go too much into the romance as the relationship has only started to bloom. But I... more>> like the heated/romantic scenes that I've read till now. (None of them are too NSFW. Hoping for more in future 😛)

The translation is lucid and has good quality. So this is definitely RECOMMENDED!

The original rating would be 4~4.25 but I think this novel needs to become more popular. It deserves to get more views. So give a try. <<less

Im addicted to negative feeling lol.

The story is okay but no in depth explanation abt the characters. It's just mostly about our depressed MC.

Spoiler

The depression wasn't cured either. It's like they were avoiding the whole problem. The ML was hopeless and I don't even understand why he fell for MC?? Just saw MC masturbating then boom 'i love him'???? The f*ck LOL

the transmigration part is so unnecessary. It's just for him to be able to redeem himself or feel guilty abt his wrongdoings which absolutely can be done in a better way. And just for the sake to add suicidal tendency? Not a smart move author.

The king and OG Heinreid

Spoiler

Nope, nothing useful. No in depth explanation why the king became a tyrant? After Seig confronted him about it because he used to be a kind king. Then the king was like "you dont need to understand me"

Gosh its frustrating ✨ how about dont use any unnecessary dialogue if u dont want to bother explaining 🤡

[collapse]

Seig and Natasha

Spoiler

i knew from the moment they first appeared, this is gonna be dumb 😂😭☠️

Like who the hell appeared in the enemy territory without preparation and then claimed to be the prince and princess in front of the public?? And told the duke he gonna revolt?

Talk about some smart protagonists 🤡😭☠️ its beyond saving.

All in all im just being generous with the rating coz I enjoyed this story ✨😂 WHEEZE <<less

This was refreshing, not too long or too short (Main Story has been translated) people didn't fall in love with the MC left & right (thank you) & I loved how the MC questioned if he was actually a separate person from the "original" or not since he woke up in the body (with memories).

There were actual consequences of past actions & he was trying to save what he could (while actually still acting as a villain) before leaving the stage without fuss (dying).

The romance was okay, a little stereotypical... more>> but I'll forgive it cause they did in fact have some cute moments & most importantly PERSONALITY!!

I was sometimes confused tho who was talking and that one scene gave me so much 2nd Hand embarrass**ent I skipped the whole chapter & a lot of the next LMAO

Overall I really enjoyed it! <<less

ehm. For the sake of the translators, I didn’t rate it a 3. It was okay. Personally, it went too fast, but I did enjoy it. I liked it actually. But it’s just hard to ignore a cute rusty necklace. That makes no sense. It’s hard to ignore a diamond in the dust. ;; I’ll still continue reading if I remember to.

It's an interesting story albeit cliché. It is a mixture of fluff and drama, with a dark undertone (depictions of su*cide are included so if you get easily triggered by such, then don't read). The MC, both in his past and current lives, take his life very lightly and in some sense, considered as a coward. He believed that he was doing the right thing by offering his life, but was made to realize by the King and Craig that it was only his selfishness.

The MC is not like the... more>> other typical MCs where they try to avoid the plot altogether once they realized that they got transmigrated/reincarnated to a different world. The MC in this novel proceeded to complete his "role" as a villain. There's an interesting idea that the MC thought when he regained memories of a past life: what if he was truly the one who committed such atrocious acts before realizing that he got transmigrated to a novel he once read in his past life? Due to this thought, he couldn't forgive himself and tried to atone for his sins by slowly mending (in his own way) the mistakes his "past self" did. Of course, he wasn't just thinking of fixing his mistakes but he was also thinking of willingly surrendering his own life which was originally fated to death in the original novel.

In my opinion, it's a good read. It has some "seriousness" to it that makes you really think about some stuff in life. Nevertheless, it would've been better if it was longer so that there would be more character build up (like Craig and the King), background stories of the other interesting characters like the butler, and explanation about the real relationship between the King & the MC's past self. I would also like to read the story in a different point of view from different characters aside from the MC (altho there are some chapters—albeit few—that were told in Craig's POV). I believe the author originally wanted this to be just a short story (maybe I'm wrong but this is what I felt once I was done reading it) but honestly, this novel has potential to develop into an even better one. Sadly, it ended 😓 <<less

I'm really enjoying this. The protagonist is not trying to run away, or say "it wasn't me" when he wakes up as the villain. The internal conflit between his personality and the "conditioning " of the body he is in is really well done and original.

I first stumbled on this when it got posted and have been waiting to review it. So far I would recommend this to others. That normal transmigration trope of taking over a villain's body but none of the sins is not a thing in this book. The MC likes to take responsibility for things and you see this right away before he even goes into the book. Every action has consequences and they show this, trying to change things is not always easy and so far no golden-finger or system... more>> is there to help either.

While I am only at chapter 14 I have high hopes it won't turn out like every other one. While chapter...12 I think is a little uh *coughs* awkward, it fits in with the original character's character and adds some clarity to an introduced character. But really this has tugged at my heartstrings and lingered in my thoughts even while I'm at work. If MTL didn't give me headaches I would buy the original book/ go on the syosetsu site as user Pudica did just to get more. <<less

MC transmigrates or reincarnates into role of insane mu*derous noble, MC continues to try to keep up his villainous persona to a certain extent, I like how this explores depression, self hate, and the mind set of just giving up; it's not super fluffy but there there is a loving and supportive ML 4*

I love this.

At first I was getting impatient cuz the MC was too guilty about everything. But then again he was suicidal before he transmigrated. And there's also Heinreid's memory.

Spoiler

OH also, the extra stories (I mtled it). I believe it was confirmed that he was actually also the real Heinreid. Craig realized that he's infact Heinreid but still chose to stay with him. He really is like a poison haha.

If you want a good, fairly fast paced angsty BL story as you watch MC struggle to maintain the identity of a depraved villain (and the aftermath), I think this story is it.

This story has just the right amount of angst and isn't as overly encompassing. The plot is good- not perfect but enough to maintain interest and raise questions about the body's, "Heinreid"'s past (also as to just how Craig will confront him).

I find myself liking the thought process of MC because it makes sense in his situation. Furthermore,... more>> the author built up just enough background, and a unique one I haven't encountered before with the reason for su*cide, to support MC's actions.

Though, there is some parts that can be explored such as:

Spoiler

The realization that MC would have to be more deplorable in actions rather than words. MC pushed Craig away, as he should considering the original's personality, but I think there could have been a couple more chapters, or more self-reflection to see the gradual loss of care for himself because whose body he's in. The angst factor could have hurt more when he spoke to the King if we had witnessed his unraveling before his breaking point that led to his loss of composure. His experience was enough to draw sympathy, but I hoped to witness a couple more events rather than hear of his actions later on.

Really, there are a lot of things that can be explored a tad more, such as when MC's realization that he can offer the daughter of Silken a proper chance for escape that he didn't get in his past life. In their mirrored situation, my heart trembled still, so it was enough.

[collapse]

I can't help but want more, but considering this story has a total of around 40 chaps, this is the right amount of plot for a quick read.

As of this chapter, 23, it is enough to judge the first impression but not the whole story, so I will add more when I get there. <<less

I am obsessed, at first I thought this would be your your typical reincarnation story however was soon pleasantly surprised with a refreshing new take and a protagonist that stands out from all others I have read before. I anxiously await the next update and I hope this story has a kinder ending for the poor MC.
