I typically record the chapter/volume I left off on and give my rating right after I catch up or put it on hold, so most of these ratings are from when my memory of it was fresh. I've dropped some ratings down a number and bumped others up a number based on how much I remember of the novels at the time of making this list.

They are (I think) all short to medium stories that can be finished in 1 to 6 weeks, I will slowly be adding my own summary and rating so let me know if you agree or not. <<less

I find that many reviews are often in one of two categories, People pretending that they know what they’re talking about but have clearly not analyzed the story they’re reading and reviews that basically are brown nosing the author even though they’re clear problems with the story. ... more>>

I have made this list based on stories which have surprised me, and completely contradicts the reviews.

I mainly started this list because of “Reincarnated As a Sword”, because due to the reviews I picked it up as a joke, but when I started analyzing the characters from the perspective of someone trying to write a reading response, I realized it was a surprisingly compelling story and the people reviewing were just focusing on its flaws or making false preconceptions based on other novels they have read in the past.

So in the end of the day I wish for you to give these novels a chance as novels. Don’t preconceive.  Read as if it was a regular book, not an “isekai”, not a “harem” novel. 

Treat them as what they are. Let those tags EARN themselves, don’t define a book by its tags. <<less

The novels I have read on this site started mostly in the Wuxia/ Xianxia Genre but with time I came to read more and more KR and JP stuff too. As a result, the contents will revolve around the usual genre tropes so I won't bother with a long list of tags. I don't have a lot of expectations for most titles I casually pick up.

What I consider when actually calling a novel "bad" is mostly bad writing ability (author) or translation quality. Otherwise there are some things like excessive NTR, those mostly have horrendous writing/ storytelling anyway. There are also things I just subjectively find boring of course.

I hope the list contains stuff that you may come to like just as I did :)
