Despite having found Mingxi, the Zhao family continued to favor the fake daughter, saying that Mingxi was not as kind nor as graceful as Zhao Yuan.

It was a good read. Also, her family, I don't wanna say anything since they are influenced by the 'halo', but I still can't forgive them since she devoted her one whole lifetime for them. If my family was like that, I do agree that ignoring them and cutting off ties with them is the best decision since it was tiring to deal with the mental and emotional damage they gave her on her past life. I saw someone say that intentionally framing someone at such a young age is a 'small petty' thing? ZY deserves her ending. Originally, after she was kicked out even if she wasn't their own child and after what she said to the hospital, they still gave her money, and paid for her tuition. Yet, she was greedy and insisted on slandering the MC even till the end. She was young, yes, but that isn't an excuse for her to do those bad things just because she was afraid of getting abandoned. If was just satisfied of her life and didn't get greedy, she could've lived a better life. She took advantage of the MC's family love for her and even framed, taunted, and let others slander the MC INTENTIONALLY, remind you. I get that some might pity her current situation, but she deserves every bit of it! She didn't get to her current situation just because of what her biological mother did, she got there because of her greed and own handiwork. Not to mention that she bullied several girls before in school and relied on the MC's family to be in the limelight, she's clearly not a good person, what's there to pity? Besides, her current 'bad' situation is that she didn't get enough money from the MC's family because she's a spoiled child and was gossiped by people. Is this even miserable? Compared to what she did to the MC where she let people from school say that the MC is an illegitimate child, an ugly duckling, etc. And where the MC didn't get enough money because they favored her over the MC, where the MC was neglected that even when attending medical needs ZY needs to be the outmost priority just because they love her more, and more of that sickening situations she put the MC in, is her suffering even called miserable? I get that she's not the only one who was at fault in here, but she definitely deserves her end. Even if the MC's family loved her biasedly, she benefited from all of it and sometimes rubbed it to the MC's face. She's not innocent and never was. Some people just see all current situation and pity her, but forgot all those abuse that the MC suffered because of ZY. What, just because she's miserable, she was forgiven now? It washed away all her sins? I don't get what's there to pity. The MC didn't want to get involved with them anymore, if she just lived her life and stopped being a jealous, spoiled, girl who was two-faced, then she could've enjoyed more of the 'family love' the MC's family gave her. She just have to be greedy and not satisfied that's why she's in her current situation. Anyways, what she did isn't a 'small petty' thing and now she gets her retribution for it.

Actually 3.5 star, the FL is insane people whisperer somehow (MLs mom (makes no sense)). I also don't like the frequent mention how tall such and such is, how handsome, how beautiful, like we get it, stop. All in all a short enjoyable read to pass the time. Also felt bad for FL's younger brother. That's all.

4.5/5 I actually don't know whether to rate it as 4 or 4.5.

I'm currently at Chapter 44.1 (the latest translated). Leaving a review to tell you all that this is worth reading.

- fluff and entertaining. Nice novel to past time. It's not boring since there are constant part whom are funny.

... more>> - the tsundere ML is so cute, I wanna hug him and give him all the love in the world, same goes with our strong but pitiful MC. I wish then both happiness.

- there's always this unfathomable itch in my heart whenever Xi Ge gets upset and hide from Mingxi due to some misunderstanding (when he thought MC don't like her, which is actually the truth at that time).

- At 44, they haven't confessed to each other yet, but they already know in their heart that they like each other. Although they think that the other party doesn't like them yet.

- I'm glad that the Zhao siblings have opened up their eyes. Hopefully the parents will soon. I hope that Zhao Yuan's strategy will be exposed soon. Love seeing the villains getting disdained by everyone XD.

- Currently contemplating on whether to read this in MTL or wait for it to finish translating.

Let me tell you, I did not have high hopes for this. The novel description felt so cliched. BUT I read it anyway and let me tell you, I could not stop reading until 4am in the morning and I had work the next day t_t. It was so enjoyable to read!

I really want to read the completion of this story and after the hint that was dropped in c39pt1 (the latest chapter translated at this time), I AM SO HYPED!!! Let's go!!!!! YASSSS OMG this is gonna be so... more>> good!!! XD <<less

the novel was well written and it really keeps me going because I really love fl’s dynamic with Xi Ge. Also, it’s very satisfying seeing her family suffer! I would still give this 5 star even though isohungry translation’s site is buggy and always crashes on me and always really slow to load, maybe it’s just my phone specs problem. It really made me wanna cry everytime, that’s just my own problem and their translation was so good, I dont read mtl eh.

Fu Yangxi is so fkkn cute. He has terminal Second-Male-Lead-in-a-Dogblood-drama disease, but thankfully he fixates on the antagonistic female supporting role hahaha. His brain circuits are AMAZING?? How does it even work........ he works so hard and yet is still willing to be the 2ML supporting the FL with the ML while drenched in rain, despite having better qualifications than the ML in every way. Uhhh, unfortunately this is because he's spent the last five years in hell with his family and is accustomed to abuse, but Mingxi is definitely... more>> better than that! She has no interest in her assigned 'ML' and quickly notices something wrong and decisively assigns Fu Yangxi to the role of her ML hahaha.

Fu Yangxi is the kind of tsundere I think no one will dislike. He's not abusive in his Tsun-tsun mode and his dere is off the charts! This child is only ~18 years old and he really does act like a child, being quickly pleased and extremely face-saving, but his face-saving quickly bites him in the bu*t and his desire for affection is so strong he doesn't hesitate to contradict himself. He's the type with a hard mouth, but he's easily flustered and betrays himself with his actions.

There are some dogblood drama moments when Fu Yangxi realizes that Mingxi isn't actually pursuing him romantically, which is when he develops the terminal 2nd Male Lead disease, and given that this story is based off a misunderstanding to begin with (that Mingxi likes him and is pursuing him), misunderstandings continue, but while it's distressing to read about Fu Yangxi's literal teen angst response to having his heart broken, this only carries on for a few weeks in story time, while Mingxi has definitely detected his abnormality and is trying to make him feel better. Even if she's not pursuing him romantically, she has determined him as a very good friend by this time and is very sincere.

But the overall atmosphere of this story is definitely fluffy and sweet! I'm sensitive to secondhand embarrassment, but was never embarrassed by the characters. There's a funny moment when Mingxi is trying to understand her relationship with Yangxi with her friend, and she felt like a "dog man trying to understand but is confused by his girlfriend." Which given Mingxi's overall decisive and calm temperament VS Yangxi's introverted but sensitive heart... isn't strictly a lie hahaha.

As for the family and the fiance... the fiance is a scum. At first I had no negative feelings about him, but Mingxi really nails it when she notices the ex-fiance coming back around to bother her- his male ego could not tolerate someone who worshiped him losing interest. I was really annoyed by his behavior, even going so far as to bother and deceive Mingxi's elders (not the Zhao family) to pretend that they're still on good terms despite acknowledging himself that he didn't take care of her the way they asked him to before they left. He's also never clarified to his friends that they're engaged and Mingxi doesn't just have a crush on him... so he only acknowledged the engagement when it's convenient.

As for the family, I'm ambivalent. I feel like their ending was too much. Since the world is a novel, and Mingxi's Luck sharing system exists, and her luck does decrease the one time she comes in close contact with Zhao Yuan, then even if the Zhao family neglected and alienated Mingxi to the point of treating her like an unwanted illegitimate daughter, I can't treat it completely as their fault. They never intentionally mistreated Mingxi, they just neglected her badly... the fact that she dies alone at 23 of brain cancer without her family ever knowing she was sick really implies the depth of their neglect. I also don't blame Mingxi for being decisive and cutting this family off. In fact, I don't believe that she can forget or forgive her experiences, nor do I think she should. IMO, once the Zhao family realizes they were wrong, wouldn't it be fine just to keep away from Mingxi? <<less

the fake daughter could've reached out to the FL when she first came into the family. The fake daughter felt no guilt in taking what was supposed to be the FL's, only fear that what did not belong to her would be returned to the true owner. She was a kid when it happened yes, but she was never a kind one. She could've been the first person to be someone the FL could lean to even when the family was unfamiliar with FL (kinda ironic lol considering the fact... more>> that she's stealing FL's plce but wtv), but she never stopped the family from treating FL the way they did and only cared about herself. Years of education was really wasted on her because she's so s*upid omg the nerve she has to be indignant about literally everything bad that she brought upon herself. Whatever sort of rich people lessons she received in the rich family is also useless on her because she obviously did not get any of that in her head. She's lacking any sort of self-awareness and decides that if she kills FL everything will be okay. I know in the original novel she was the FL that's why everything went her way, but she's just such a character with no hope, she can't even be called a proper villainess as she has no solid plans whatsoever. She's literally the walking personification of vomiting nonsense. And yeah she was young and immature=dumb choices, but she doesn't learn from them either, to know when to shut tf up and stay low. She has issues.

but yeah the family was truly shit, they made no effort to know+understand what FL went through. Although unfamiliarity can be a reason to be awkward with ur biological daughter/sister, they didn't even bother giving her half the attention+love they did with fake daughter. I really do wish they were reborn just like "after rebirth, the scum all cry for forgiveness" because that would really be the icing on the cake. That would make them suffer even more as the FL in her past life spoilers: died:, and they were sad and regretful SO if they were reborn as well that would seriously just make it even more satisfying. Maybe zhao yuning deserved a second chance, since he was young, immature and selfish, and was basically the only sibling that hung out with FL. But I just gotta mention the way they described FL was pretty much a cook, massager and babysitter. Gurlie really was brought back to cook for their nasty asses and only get appreciated for that.

also the shen liyue (???) cant rmb his name guy, the (ex) fiancee/ (ex) crush of FL is the ultimate Mr delusion of the novel. The author does provide him a narrative on why he's award worthy of delusionality, but mans should really know the word "no" and also get new friends! Dude is literally in a school with smart people, why not get smart friends!

ML is amazing. He's a narcissistic pos when they first met, but the misunderstanding made him cry so.. But yeah other than that he's really sweet and caring towards FL, mans risked his life for her, what more can u ask :))

FL is pretty chill. Focuses mainly on gaining luck and her studies. Their interactions was really cute (better than after rebirth, all scum ML and FL, i'd say) <<less

Actually, the comedy is good but I really don't like the villain and some other supporting characters. They're too 2D, I don't like the teachers, I don't like Zhao family, I don't like long winded misunderstandings. I think this novel's rating is way to high, at most this is 4 star rating not 4.6 star.

very good plot I love the way MC tries to get along with his family in the past despite being excluded, and I love how MC in her second life can cut ties with her family when the end result is bad, but Fu Yangxi?? If Fyx (Fu yangxi) was ML, I would say the author was too rushed during romantic moments in situations where MC and Fyx had a conversation. It was full of misunderstandings and flaws and also made Fxy think MC loved him perfectly. Or not? Another... more>> thing is that MC is naive to say ? She was 23 at the end of her first life. But she said that moving the desk was like letting him die???? Lord, you should understand that those words are misleading. But all you can do is move on.
But I only write these when reading up to Ch.18. If Fyx isn't ML, I think this comment is pretty useless. So you should read if Fxy isn't ML, but for me I wouldn't go any further. It's not really my cup of tea. It's quite disappointing. <<less

Really a heart warming love story. The angst is not heavy but insinuates enough to reveal the darkness of traumatic past and the lasting effects on people. I had a small moment of pity for Zhao Yuan but it was only a brief moment... she made such bad choices instead of using what she had and working hard to create her own way she felt someone should do it all for her...I loved the characters and Minxi and Xi are perfect together. 🥰 The translator is doing an excellent job... more>> honestly some of the personal translating I did to complete the novel was not very good so I will come back and finish reading her translation here.

Over all a short lite novel very worth reading.👍👍👍👍 <<less

Never really was a fan of chinese romance novels and if I did, it would be the rare gems.

This story is one of those. When you read a romance novel, it is usually written in female lead's POV so uncharacteristically, we will learn more of her and grown to like the FL, this is the opposite for the ML.

It occurred to me that MLs haven't earned their right to be at FLs side. They are MLs because author said so and frankly, they're not the most stable level-headed personality-wise.

Which is... more>> why I f*cking loved this series, holy hell, especially the MALE LEAD.

He's tsun tsun but the right kind and not annoying. He deserves to be happy with the FL and vice versa.

ML earned the heart of me, as well as other readers. Another favorite ML alongside the ML of "Bai Fumei in the 80s, " which is another solid novel btw. You may want to check it after reading this.

A gem of a novel indeed. I'm usually very picky when it comes to reading chinese romance novels but I assure you, this is one of the good ones. Highly recommend 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 <<less

One of my fav novels on reincarnation genre. FL doesn't spend much time on revenge or face slapping and just wants to be happy without the past lingering.

ML is a sweetheart and their interactions are too cute

Liked the fact that FL Zhou Mingxi was decisive against her family to move and ML Fu Yangxi was so on the tsunderee trope, which was cute, definitely recommend to pass time.

This could have been short and would have still made sense and not damage the story. The author has a bad habit of repeating themself and being too wordy. Definitely could have used a more show than tell and that might have made it less predictable (maybe?). There was no real climax in the story, no tension. Anyway, it’s a simple dog-blood with familiar tropes. The characters are cute although they all seem to have high IQ and low EQ, but it seemed to be for the purpose of the... more>> drama and comedy, the plot, and not about the characters at all. That does not mean that the characters doesn’t have their own unique print.

I rlly love Mingxi's character. The way she moves on after what her family did to her. She didn't even think of revenge but focus on living a better life. I completely support her for ignoring her family for the rest of her life. That's rlly something I'll do too!

I'm fond of the ML here, he's narcissistic attitude rlly amused me.
