I remembered this was the world in the game I had played in my previous world, [The Dragon and the Sacrificial Priestess]. But I had reincarnated as the Prime Minister Anderheim who would be led to ruin with his villainess daughter Julieta.

I came for the BL but I ended up with a roller coaster ride full of manipulations, careful yet clever plannings, award-winning acting skills that deserve an Oscar, complicated relationships, twisted personalities, and a sweet yet fruitful revenge. I have no qualms though. I even almost forgot that this is a BL novel if it weren't for the occasional smut scenes 😂 But damn, why did I only just discover this gem? Well, at least I still discovered it..

First of all, the MC. Oh god, the MC 👏 He is... more>> the true definition of cunning, clever, and manipulative. Hell, I bet he invented those words. I've read countless novels with tags "Clever Protagonist" or "Cunning Protagonist" and only a few MCs were truly clever or cunning. In fact, none of them stuck in my mind as someone who is really sly. The MC in this novel, however, is different. He's a true orchestrator and a master of chess. He knows what to do & how to use his pawns. Typical MCs would've chosen to avoid the plot once they regained memories of their past lives to avoid destruction but Anderheim didn't. In fact, he gladly accepted his role as the "villain" and turned the tides to his favor. He splendidly exacted his revenge in both gruesome and clever manners. Imagine if his enemies were smarter and actually counterattacks the MC's ploys, this story would have immediately be on the top of my most favorite novels of all time.

There are some violent scenes (specifically r*pe) that might trigger some people so it is best to consider this factor before reading this novel. Nonetheless, the smut scenes between the pairs are hot and funny (yes, some lines between Jolga & Anderheim while doing the deed were funny to me. Ok, don't judge. It was really funny 😂)

It could've been better if the story was prolonged a bit. Sadly, I think the author originally wanted the story to end at the same part when the original otome game ended. At least, the author did give us readers a bit of closure since it was still explained what happened afterwards and even has an epilogue which was a whole different roller coaster ride full of feels, bewilderment, and desire for a sequel 🤧 <<less

The story was great! MC is tru 2 his personality even after he regains his memory. He's twisted, merciless, and a grudge-keeping genius. The protagonists all dance on his palm giving him a show he'll be satisfied with.

I absolutely fell IN LOVE with the last chapter

bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha just remembering it makes me laugh! So good!

Mc's personality is my version of perfect. The entire story is amazing. Unlike many other righteous heroes our MC is cruel and heartless yet just. A superb story.

this story is quite unique in that the villain is still a villain even after remembering about his past life. Would love to see more stories that explore from this angle. There is no sugarcoating what he does. He is a POS and he does not repent.

although several reviewers have mentioned that this story is dark, I don't really find it so except for 1 particular moment.

big big big spoilers! Where the sisters lock the female protagonist up. I felt physically uncomfortable even though nothing else in this novel fazed me.

the only main flaw is how the female protagonist's IQ seemed to have dropped quite a bit, but it's still tolerable.

I ship the main couple so hard. I guess you either hate the ML or love him. For me, it's definitely the latter. Their relationship gets slightly more development in the sequel (although that novel is even bigger on schemes and plot than this)

Also one of the side couple is really cute together too (the straight couple). <<less

His MC is smart, he is able to make great revenge plans. I'm satisfied with the plan and the end of the revenge.

the story between MC and ML is so beautiful you should read it. But less impressive for those who can't stand the dark story

But overall, everything feels so.. 2d. There's no depth in the emotions and way too much illogic going on for me to take this seriously anymore.

And I personally don't like any of the couples. The main one doesn't even make any sense lmao.

I really hoped that the ML wasn't the ML before knowing who the ML is. And by the time it was clear that the ML is the ML.. Was the time they abruptly decided to dance to the devil's tango. Where was the chemistry though? Did ML throw it in the fireplace too? Also where was the logic on the MCs side? He was already manipulating [Insert ML Name Here] really well without "uSing his b0dy". Jesus, just admit you were h**ny Anderheim (whateverhisnameis).

At the beginning I really hoped the ML would be Malecia (IhopeIspeltright). They're badass together. In general though, the third side couple was the one that actually had some build up to it. Ig? Didn't like it either but at least it made some sense.. The second couple made some sense too.. Ig. The main one... Was kinda hot when we got to that "freak" chapter.. But otherwise boring, illogical, and a turnoff.

Honestly, I would say my real rating is 3.5, but I'll give it a four because I like it enough to re-read it multiple times.

review: This is a little long, so there's TL;DR at the bottom

This is a revenge story with an evil protagonist. Everything he schemes is vile and over the top, but that is somewhat the point, hence the title. The MC physically, mentally, and emotionally destroys people in this story, and he doesn't let anyone out of his grasp.

What this story does is rely heavily on momentum.... more>> It is very fast paced. This is its biggest strength and its biggest weakness. The best way to think of this story is that the MC throwing a theatrical show that the audience, and you are hit given moment-by-moment plays of what is happening. It's dramatic and suspenseful because the MC explains his schemes as the they are unfolding. It's kind of like the MC is lifting the curtain, and you are watching a show of his devising.

However, as the MC only describes his schemes as they are happening, thus the momentum, I think the story loses out on a lot of potential. One of this story's biggest weaknesses is that a lot of the time there are characters that suddenly go through tremendous character changes in the background or changes that are rarely mentioned and the way they change impacts the story quite a bit because it falls into the MC's schemes.

Especially with how the romance develops.

This is especially the case with MC and ML's romance. If you weren't paying attention, you wouldn't have noticed that the ML was into the MC a whole lot, it just kind of happened lol. The romance definitely should have been fleshed out more, with at least an arc occurring before they start having a physical relationship.

They settle some "differences" that were long standing (like somewhere around 2 decades worth of hate between these two) with the OG MC's body owner, and then like 2 chapters later start messing around with each other lol.

TL;DR) Basically what I'm saying is that this story could have easily, as it should have been, fleshed out more. More time setting up schemes, arcs, and ESPECIALLY displaying character development (Especially when you make enemies flip sides). This story could have easily been a 200+ chapter story, and honestly, probably should have been.

This story does a wonderful job using every bit of info that it does provide you in order for the audience to enjoy a good show. It's fun, messed up, and satisfying most of the time. It's a fun first read, but I would say that the story's weaknesses start really showing on a re-read. <<less

I thought I was going to hate it when I saw so many reviews saying it's bad. I started this halfway reading eroge villain (I liked the smut there so I tried this).

An older bottom in power made me :^) so yea the smut is nice. The scenes could've been longer tho.

Also what happened to Melia (og FL's twin sister) and the other siblings were uncalled for. What about the parents who sold them? I'm pretty sure the siblings were unaware of any of wht they were doing.

Like, less happened to those who were directly involved (e.g. Prince, FL, FL's parents)

Or maybe this was an 'evil wins' kind of novel.

I enjoyed it, especially given that it like the title implies is one huge act written by the transmigrator.

I didn't give 5 stars because of OOC in my opinion with Julietta and Nasha and a minor plothole or two.

Jullieta -Someone who was originally a 'snob' character, the fiance of the prince does a 180 in her acting. I didn't mind it and the background explains her past behaviour but I feel more plot could have been written regarding her personal feelings and the change, what was mentioned was minor.

Nasha- Someone who could capture a whole bunch of men with her optimisim and determination completley OOC'd like atleast keep her original characteristics and twist her into a villain over a period of time not in the blink of an eye. (This is my personal opinion, I know some would say its her true nature but then the author should emphasise how she was acting prior)

Moral ethics yeah it was a great villain mastermind plot, this was not OOC but I personally dislike having to think ill of characters I like.

People say they didn't see the pairings coming I did I guess I'm used to shipping characters but the romance could have been better explored between the secondary couples especially M&L this is mainly because the main couple is romantic in their own way while M&L were super cute.

Overall it was great to see the plot unfold, a few of the parts fell flat and could have been expanded on, not as much emphasis was given to the characters besides the ML (meaning I wished I could have read more about them) but I enjoyed it and binged it lol. <<less

The plot is mediocre. The characters are all 2-dimesional. The love interest came out of nowhere. I regretted reading this pos. The only saving point may be that the author wrapped up the story pretty nicely.

Though, I must admit the steamy scenes is pretty good. If you only came for the "smut" tag, and the plot is your secondary concern, you could still read this. The translation is pretty good too. At least it's a PWP, although the plot is not quite good haha...

Onto the review.
Well that was interesting huh? When I first saw the summary for this novel, I was hooked. "A remembering past live" trope, with the "an anti hero as the main character who is also a single parent?!! And it also has revenge?!! Take my money Author. Anyway.. this novel was definitely something.. it had the single parent trop, yes, but the author didn't play with that idea. It felt like the main character interacted with the other characters more than his own daughter. Because of the blurb I thought this was gonna be a story of bonding between father and daughter where the father only has a soft spot for his daughter and is exacting revenge on those who hurt her. This story was a classic action of tell but don't show. I kept being told that he loved his daughter and yes, I did read the whole book, I know the whole plot is basically for her, butttt where? His love felt... fake? Honestly I just wish we had more scenes of them bonding. If I were Julietta and Anderheim was my father, after the way I'd been treated, I'd honestly probably have some trauma.

Second, The antihero trope, I actually loved the way it was done here. If you like a male lead who doesn't easily get controlled by his emotions then you're in the right place. If we had a mother characters point of view that wasn't the Male lead, we'd probably hate him. But that's the beauty of a antihero isn't it?

Anyway since I'm on it let's get the the love interest shall we? Of course I'm not gonna reveal who it is! Y'all are gonna have to read to find that out for yourself. I didn't like him at first, like I honestly would've picked any other person...

None of the people who originally contributed in Julietta's demise got a super bad ending. Heck, some of them even got happy endings. Only the Crown prince and his fiancé were super hurt but what about the capture targets?! They contributed too why the hell did they get happy endings.

Nice plot for intrigues and so, I like how the protagonist plan his revenge at first but after it seems a little too soft. (Should be more cruel for me).

I also like how he whitewash himself, very clever.

At first I completely forgotten that this was a BL novel and in my opinion it should have not be, the plot was great how it was and the bl part seems a little forced with poor explanation why the ML and MC hook together.

So far, I love it. I see that people don't like that the ML was not who they expected, but I like the ML with the MC. MC is smart and good at deceiving the other characters and I love the smut. Oh my gosh, the smut. Anyways, the other characters are also great. The heroine is so annoying. Overall, it's awesome.

Uhhh imagine if your typical OP edgy scheming protagonist was also part of a BL novel I guess?

It's not terrible but it's not particularly amazing either. Sometimes it drags but there's just as many times where you'll be left wondering if you skipped a chapter or five cuz of the randomness of the plot shifts.

Mindless fun dark read if you're desperate for some fantasy bl that at least has some plot.

It was a lot of fun. I love how merciless and unscrupulous the MC is. I've read many transmigration stories where a character, after transmigrating into a villain, works on saving his life by doing good deeds. The MC here goes a completely different route, and "In for a penny, in for a pound" is a perfectly fitting name. It was enjoyable to read something so unrestrained. The plot in the second half was somewhat dragging but the resolution was satisfying. The flow and characterizations are pretty good. The plot is also heavily packed in a good way. Yes, there are a few topics that might be uncomfortable for some people, but I personally think they are not added carelessly. The ending and epilogue are also great closures to the story. despite many leaving bad reviews on this one, I personally find this light novel fun and exciting! Though there are some scenes that make me uncomfortable.

there's not much conflict or problem for the protag that others might find it flat or boring but honestly? That's why it's kinda refreshing for me.

There are pretty uncomfortable themes. Like beastiality but it doesnt happen to the protagonist. s*avery. Kinda in*est but they're not blood related. Many other things.

It's really boring. No ups and downs. Everything goes well for the protag.

Smut. Lots of smut. Though I skipped most of them.

... more>> I don't really care for any of the characters. They don't have personality. Its hard to feel emotions for them. Except Nasha and her family because wtf MC. Anyway I expected this to be twisted so I'm not too surprised.

What I mean by the characters not having personality is that they easily succumb to MC. Its as if they don't have ideas of their own. The characters are bland and uninteresting. Character development is forced. It doesn't make sense.

The development is... cringey. and there are plotholes. But I dont really care. The mc's plot or plans only sound smart... only sound smart but if you have enough brains it sounds s*upid.

Its that kind of feel good story that everything goes well for the protag and lots of face slapping. Everything goes as you expect them to.

Why does this have a high rating??? But I finished this novel after all that so that must say something about the novel.

This novel gives what it says its gonna give.

My review sounds pretty edgy but its really boring. I didn't feel a thing while reading this novel. It must be because I expected too much. <<less

I gave a 5 star! It was wonderful! I lamented that the novel was too short and when the extra ch came I waited with excitement if there was a vol2 where they begin again with the dragon but nope...

It’s a strongly recommended novel with a bit of dark side but not that much gore and such. They wrote in the warning. The smut with the MC and ML is great and the sub couples are sweet too and very likeable. They too have a somewhat complete story.

Love the Main Couple! Their interactions are addicting!

Love the Smut!!! It sends butterflies in my heart.

I love that there is a book!

BUT I HATE MYSELF CUZ IM BROKE! T^T
