Palcemith. A kingdom blessed by the dragons.

I remembered this was the world in the game I had played in my previous world, [The Dragon and the Sacrificial Priestess]. But I had reincarnated as the Prime Minister Anderheim who would be led to ruin with his villainess daughter Julieta.

However, now that my memories have returned, I do not intend to give up that easily.

Making full use of my memories from my past life, with my daughter, let me show the capture targets how to turn the tables.

TLDR; Good intrigue story at the start, turns into subpar fetish shock-horror midway through.
Edit: As of 2022, I've just now recalled that the protag isn't even a dilf. The author went out of their way to make him a pretty, eternally youthful twink. Devastating betrayal for the target audience.

Strong and interesting beginning, but devolves the further the plot progresses. While a genuinely villainous MC is a nice take on the transmigration/isekai genre, it goes from "Wow! What cool mind games!" to "Wait a second, this is just a bunch of fetishes in a trenchcoat!" You lose the satisfaction and intrigue built up in the first chapters as the MC's scheming and the worldbuilding become more overtly pe*verted.

The novel's possibly triggering and/or s*xual content below:
Spoiler

human trafficking, pe*ophilia/cp, beastiality, s*xual assault, drugging, s*xual coercion, g**ital mutilation, and in*est. The in*estuous characters are either half-siblings or completely unrelated, but they were raised together as siblings.

Also, my review is meant to be 2 stars, but novelupdates refuses to let me fix my mistakes </3 so tragic.

My only dissatisfaction is how short it was and that the period chosen for the sequel isn't the one that I had wished for. Anyway, great story and amazing job done by the translation team.

It's such a good story. It wasn't a fix-me story, nor did it go over the top. I absolutely loved it.

Everything was calculated and schemed beautifully. If you're expecting a sweet story, this might not be the one for you. While it is sweet, it's sweet in a rather twisted way.

I don't think I'll read the side story though. It just seemed like it ended at such a nice spot I cannot imagine anything else other than that.

I did not expect the main and side CPs tbh. It felt more obligatory than necessary. I would have been perfectly fine if there weren't any CPs if this was the lot given. It didn't feel like a natural progression either, given how I couldn't even guess who the main CP was until I was gobsmacked in the face with their smut scene. The transition just felt a little too abrupt.

To be fair the smut scenes were pretty spicy so this gets 3 instead of the 1 I originally wanted... more>> to rate.

Spoiler

It's also easy to make the supposed heroine and her twin sister become villains by giving them unlikable traits that they seem to suddenly acquire. The author easily takes away their halos once it was convenient for the plot to make the "villains" look better.

Wasn't the female heroine everyone liked not just for her face? Her character settings flipped and now she's shameless and selfish and even the servants and knights of the house don't even like her and are exhausted being around her. Why the sudden switch in attitude tho? Because she's "soon-to-be-queen" now? I'm just saying that phase change is not natural. And it makes her seem pretty dumb to shed all pretenses like this and not expect her good for nothing might as well blend into the wall decor husband to just be loyal to her forever if she doesn't meet expectations. And this brainless guy was supposed to inherit the throne???

Not to mention, the supposed genius prodigy who suddenly replaced the MC as Prime Minister is a wet behind the ears greenhorn who couldn't even uncover any of his schemes and is always a step behind.

In conclusion, the capture targets of the female heroine are all laughable. So called talented youths who are just pawns in the MC's game. The author made everyone around them more s*upid than the villain, had the villain gain instant allies, to begin with I don't understand why the Head Priest and the Ancient Dragon decided they could place their loyalty and trust on him all of a sudden, and he was able to get away with playing pretend as a white lotus.

MC did eventually reveal his dark side to his partner. Which, fair.. Given he's the type of guy who slept with his lover when she was supposed to wed the MC- he's not exactly a saint and okay, to put it plainly, he thinks with his dick. So no wonder, MC was willing to take the risk during the circus event.

This is the first time that I rated a one star novel. I read a lot of BL novels BL before and this is intriguing me because of the high rating and interesting plot. But soon left me dissapointed in the middle. Although the smut is top tier not gonna lie, the story and the story paced made me confuse the heck out of me and multiple time I left "huh?" In some of the chapters. That's how confusing the story inside. So many plot holes, and every chapter made... more>> the plot holes bigger. Eventually, I was like fvck it and just skip chapter until the smut or the main plot line. Honestly, I can't say much because it left me headcace to read it again.

I don't want to spoil, you read it yourself. At first it was okay until 25 chapters, above that left me baffled. All of the relationship were so rushed and as if they like each others due to their face or should I say physical attractiveness? Anyway it's so superficial, cringe and 2D.

Anyway, I dropped this. The translator are doing their best, and I appreciated that. But the story just left me ugh. Nope.

And this is the first time I see a typical cannon fodder which every reincarnated cannon fodder novel talked about.

[I must say the only likeable character inside the story is Melia or Nasha's sister or whatever her name is I forgot. I mean like she is portrayed as the villainess there after what she has been through, like who blamed the girl? Okay let me explain. This girl is fcking innocent. She's 16 or 15 idk, same age as her twin sister Nasha (the so-called FL of otome games or something). She is very normal and reasonable character, although short, I can sympathize with her until she become crazy due to the MC's plan. It was so pitiful, like, she didn't deserve this. She fcking sacrifice herself to hope gaining a right status to stand her "lover" and also to protect her sister. But nah, the novel really portrayed her as one of the bad guy. I feel sorry for her] <<less

I'm not quite sure how I'm feeling right now. The novel was unlike any 'otome game' trope novels I've read.

And it was a very much of a fun ride, specially because this time it was a male lead. And though there were quite a bit of unrealistic stuff, the overall tone of the story went well with them.

And not to mention the random bouts of tears that gathered in my eyes throughout the novel.

it was fun ride.

It is nice at first until somehow it become nonsense. I'm disappointed.

Out of nowhere having drama then having s*x and then romance that forced.

I don't like the romance they become together because the writer want it, forcing it together, it doesn't flow well.

... more>> I'm shipping A with MC, because of the flow, but out of nowhere it become Z, it is okay if it doesn't end up with A, but why with Z?? He doesn't even get 'mentioned'!

MC is manipulative yes, but the result is odd since the 's*x out of nowhere'. <<less

The story is so good and definitely has it's unique twists and turns.

The translation was also written so well and had me binged it today.

It was so exciting it had me continue to read the MTL..

Spoiler

.. And that was an ending I seriously did not expect!

Especially the part with ML had me in tears!! It was a happy ending that stabs heart (lmao). The epilogue was so cute, too.

I'm looking forward to the translation of the next chapters. 💖

It was good, I like that the end is kind of a close ending and a open ending at the same time, as well as the friendship the MC have with the dragon (the dragon go to sleep after the MC death and awakes again after the MC reincarnate), and the smut is also good, the only downside is that the MC do not show too much love to the ML (it kind of feel like he was using the ML, until the epilogue when he reincarnate again with his memories and find the ML reincarnation that is a puppy and show how much he missed the ML).

Status: v1 extra
Not rating, and probably not reading on after this either, since the extra is an epilogue and I already know how everything's going to end, the mystique and excitement kind of dies down after a while, and I'm not going to force myself to read this any further.

I was strung in by the summary so well, and the only tag I paid any mind to was the Apathetic Protagonist tag, of which I only had a glance at, before I decided to read this through the night. I guess that's... more>> my fault, then. But I'm still going to condemn this novel for its heavy use of r*pe and s*xual assault as a theme and motivating factor that incites plot development. In some (or most) cases the use of this trope (?) was unnecessary, and somehow feels like a cop-out punishment, especially in this place set in the medieval times. It feels wrong to say they could have been more original with the punishment of the female lead and her family, but that's exactly what I'm going to say.

Spoiler

She does not even achieve her political comeuppance until after her violation, and despite her attitude, it was implied that while the Crown Prince was all but embarrased by her, he still loved her deeply - and so, I guess it was assumed that she would never get her retribution until she was r*ped by a magical beast and produced a baby that wasn't his own (To which the act was called, 'A sin of the parents', despite the fact that it was r*pe, and they are all well awarethe nature of the magical beast... How is that a sin? I digress) . Anderheim even expresses his surprise and subsequent joy at this. It was not something he had planned at all, and yet it was still used to quick-start her downfall, regardless of the fact that her position as fiancee of the Crown Prince was flimsy at best and it would have happened anyway. It even felt like the author did not know how to truly 'get rid' of her - reusing the punishment of Melia to end her story arc. And speaking of Melia, did we all forget that she is still the Dragon Priestess? The whole point of her acceptance of the role was because of the power it held, and while she did recieve Donna's Punishment, how could they complete the festival without her? Donna's Punishment was only intended to keep her actions confined, right? But she was no longer mentioned after she invited Nasha into the magical beasts den to get r*ped. In their words, the Dragon Priestess, " administers the festival, manages the ritual and listens to the peoples’ worries." I think, maybe, the author forgot about the description they gave to this role because the festival was completed without any hitch. I checked, the dragon priestess was not mentioned whatsoever in chapter 59 when the festival was held. But, perhaps I misread the past few chapters where they apparently explained how her presence wasn't needed. It happens. But even then, how was it possible that she was sold to the Dog Show? I really don't understand. Again, Donna's Punishment does not revoke her of her status, it just keeps her confined. So how was Anderheim able to get her caught up in that show, even with Malacia's help? I read this book over the course of the night and finished at approximately 3 AM, so there is a chance I missed something, but I'm still very confused on how Melia getting r*ped held any significant weight in the plot whatsoever. Her arc should have ended when she recieved Donna's Punishment. She would be put on the back burner until the festival, and Nasha did not even seem to mourn her that much after a few months. Her r*pe and forced imp**gnation was simply used for shock value, and I find that despicable.

[collapse]

The author seems to like surprising their audience with things we do not expect, but they hold no significance in the overall story. Truthfully, I do not mind the implementation of r*pe in novels, as weird as that sounds. But that is only specifically when it is used for psychosocial analysis of the world or the character. This is all just revenge p*rn.

Spoiler

I guess they attempted to use their brain when discussing Malacia's relationship with predatory men, and how that affected his s*xual drive and physiological response to their pleasure, but it was heavily implied that he ended up liking it when Lutora had s*x with him, and though he had a fever and evaluated his thoughts on their relationship, that was the end of any attempt at using r*pe as a plot device rather than a catalyst for plot development.

[collapse]

The only reason these arcs were even implemented were to show how despicable and evil Anderheim truly was, but they ended up being a little wishy-washy on that notion several times throughout the plot, anyways.

Spoiler

Ignoring his acting, he really does love his daughter, he blessed the beastman infant of Nasha, he's helping the Crown Prince from behind the scenes and never once punishes him (You could say marrying Nasha was the punishment he got, but considering the fact that Anderheim didn't let Melia go, even when she wasn't really a main character and held no particular weight to the original story beyond what Anderheim manipulated her to be, its safe to say that he did nothing in particular in response to the Crown Prince who basically sent his daughter off to die), and despite how uncouth their relationship is, he truly loves Jolga as well - seeing him as something more than someone to be manipulated as the volume came to a close.

[collapse]

With all that's said and done, they're are only two women who truly get a happy ending by the epilgoue

Spoiler

Vanellope and Juileta. There were five women with notable roles in this novel in total, which means over half of the female cast got nuked, hmmm.

I understand this is a Boys Love novel, but the readiness to torture, purge, and violate former female love interests is a little strange, don't you think? And, again, their punishments could have been a lot more unique, if we are going to go down the morally deplorable route. Making Melia a drug addict put under (legal) comatose was already interesting, and they could have continued with the process of Nasha slowly losing everyone's favor leading up to the festival where she runs off with the Dragon Pearl - there are many ways to conclude that retribution you know? For instance, She ends up still being eaten in Juileta's place by angering the Dragon in her typical oblivious female lead way, or something. Sending her off to a villa in the middle of nowhere after she believed she had a miscarriage? I don't know, that seems more pitiful than a form of justice. Even in the epilogue they kind of glaze past her ending, offhandedly remarking that the Crown Prince replaced her with Vanellope (His cousin, might I add. The author seems to be very fond of pseudo-in*est and extramarital affairs.)

[collapse]

Despite all of this, it's hard to truly say this novel was bad, or the worst of the worst. The beginning truly did hook me - I was excited to see Anderheim's relationship with his daughter, Juilleta and how he would scheme and manipulate the masses. But after a while it was very disappointing. From the way they introduced the love interests to the lack of punishment for the capture targets - truly, this novel was just a bullyfest directed at Nasha! That is why I chose not to rate. It felt like there was no numerical value that could truly put into words my feelings on this novel.

Maybe they expand on their idea in the next volume, but I'm not that interested in the story anymore. <<less

Somewhat shallow. The schemes aren't that good, the characters here and there are flat, and the writing isn't he beginning is just rather poor. However, it's pretty nice for a binge read and has a few nice moments, and something that can bring enjoyment. I was wavering between a generous 5 and 4 stars, but then there's "extra" which is actually an epilogue, and it kindly buried all hopes of this novel for 5 stars. Ah! I finished it!! This one is a good read for me.

I feel like the pacing was pretty fast and that it was too short (I want more). However compared to the usual villainess plot this one keep me up on suspense.

Only downside is that I feel that the end was a little bit lacking. It's a good end as it's a closure but still... I feel disconnected.

The BL part surprised me tho (I was so focused on the plot I didn't see the warning) 🤣

I feel like this is a very good rough draft of a story. I don't mind any of the developments or anything, but the chapter to chapter progression in addition to the constant swapping from first person to third is really jarring. You all tricked me with the abundance of good reviews what was that. This story made me question life so quickly. Through the experience I was just struggling to the end. This story constantly had me confused on why characters had acted in a certain way.

The mc’s partner came out of nowhere and had me like where the hell did you come from. There relationship just didn’t feel right for me and it did not have the development it needed to warrant the devotion that the ML feels towards our... more>> protag. If anything it felt really lustful and caught me off guard like I did not see it coming.

The characters felt like cardboard to me ; they were so lifeless and seeing them interact with each other felt boring and quite bland. The characters core values seemed to forgotten (ML lead) and as someone who enjoys character interaction and character driven stories the characters were a let down to say the least.

I swear all of the characters except the MC felt like they had an iq that barely hits 80 like some of them act so illogically that it hurts my brain and made me want to stop reading mid story.

Because of its short duration the ending gave me violent whiplash.

The main characters ‘master’ plan was to destroy the kingdom after everyone had already had died what was the point hurting innocent people keep in mind in the MCs past life what led him to cultivate such a personality. How is a normal game playing person capable of outsmarting the whole kingdom.

The mc’s past life was never really explored which it could of but anyway I felt like the time skip was super unexpected like okay we are supposed to process this and move on to the death of the MC after the death of the ML like what

The relationship with the daughter was surface level and I forgot she existed unless she was mentioned or there. This story made me want to punch a wall. If there where other peoples comment while reading I could’ve pulled through but damn never again.

The story was not long enough to flesh out the characters which led to lacklustre characters that felt forgettable. The main cps relationship made me want to ram my head against the wall.I felt nothing from there relationship and they didn’t really have any chemistry. The MC should have ended up alone if anything.I skipped if not all the nsfw so if that’s why you gave high reviews then good for you never again the ending made me upset. <<less

Somehow this was kinda of amazing in its own way.

The whitewashing, the antihero MC that was really entertaining.

In no way it is actually a good story, but I just kept reading, it was interesting, but it was short only 60+ chapters with 4-8 pages so there's no way the relationships and characters were given the proper on page development, but if you are a forgiven reader you can fill the blanks with your own imagination.

Well... the writing is good. The first 20 or so chapters are, as well, as clearly evil and corrupt MC works to completely whitewash himself. As others said, though, character development is severely lacking. The daughter isn't that bad of a case. Sure, going from a spoiled and willful brat into a saintlike character is weird, but considering the man she loved not only cheated on her and abandoned her, but told her to die, I think the trauma could be considered enough for a severe and sudden character change.

No,... more>> the problem is elsewhere. The ML had absolutely no feelings, no reason to like the MC at all and no hints that he was hiding such a thing, nor do we get told that the MC is attracted to ML, or wants to seduce him. Yet, all of a sudden, we get a lovemaking session? The corrupt priest and ML's son is the same, WHY does he like him? The hinted semi-in*estuous couple was actually the only one that sort of made sense! The non-related brother, feeling extremely guilty and regretful for pushing his sister so far, would reasonably overcompensate on showing affection to the point of going too far, there's a cause and effect.

Anyway, I read some spoilers to see if it gets better, and...I think I'll move on now. I already don't like what the MC did to the younger twin sister, and it'll apparently get much worse than that, so Im'ma bail. <<less
