Seven Days as a Villain

Description

I, Ulysses Addinson, suddenly remember my previous life, and realize I’m the villain in the smartphone game “Flowers of the Royal Palace ~A Shrine Maiden Held by Roses of Seven Colors~”. But I remember far too late, and there are only seven days remaining until the in-game event where I’m to be convicted.

It’s much too late by the time I figure it out, but this is the story of a struggling young villain.

there's a few things you should understand about this story:

  1. The MC is truly villainous, though in an acceptable level. Yes he's greedy for material and political power but that's some badic level villainy stuff. He's sadistic as in finding enjoyment in causing physical harm onto people. It might also be mental harm that he likes too but so far there's only one instance of that in the story.
  2. ML is schadenfreude and acknowledges the MC's wrongdoings but willingly obliges to every command. He's very much addressed as an animal but treated as a human. MC only expects undying loyalty from ML.
  3. Not your typical fluff. Both characters are kind of obsessive/possessive to each other on some level.
  4. Despite the MC having his memories regained, his personality remains the same. That's a pretty notable selling point of this story and that's what makes it unique. The MC isn't trying to gain favor from the seven semes. It's more of him using the seven semes to guarantee his safety and escape.
This is a pretty decent way to get into the heavier side of BL stories. It still maintains dark themes that are extremely unhealthy in IRL relationships while being tame enough for unexperienced readers in heavy material (such as me).

Pretty great short story!

I definitely enjoyed the way the MC goes around scheming and white-washing himself. Kek.

Spoiler

Even after regaining memories of his previous life as a normal, law-abiding person, he's an unapologetic villain and continues to do villainous things. Awesome.

[collapse]

I also liked how proactive the MC was in

Spoiler

kissing the ML and eventually sleeping together. He really went for it.

[collapse]

Felt good when the steps of the plan came together, I actually didn't expect the final scheme, despite plenty of foreshadowing, so that was a fun surprise.

Great translation.

this novel is awfully short.. but I love how the MC only has seven days before the ticking of the clock stops and everything ends. but I wish there were more extra chps for the afterstory though and more smutty scenes....

sigh.. I really wish there's more...

When reach the end, it was a surprise and not at the same time. It makes sense when you think about it. The Mutual Twisted Love. But 3/4 parts of this novel is not about that.

The Major plot is about MC planning and doing things benefits him to avoid the convicted Ending. It was NOT a Story of Faceslapping!

And there's one scene that made me felt heavily Violated. I have never been this wronged. ... more>>
Spoiler

MC forced to give bl**job to a Bad guy. THAT WAS DISGUSTING AND I HATE IT SO FVKING MUCH!!! WHATTHEFCK!!! AAAAAAA IM SO FCKING MAD!!!!!

[collapse]
It's not Flashback. It's part of the story. I want to crush things now just remembering it...!!!

Without that scene I would have give this novel 5 stars. With that scene, I even tempted to give this novel 3 stars.

Nevermind... The point is this Novel is interesting. Read at your own risk. <<less

well this was a short story, but it did wrap things up quickly. The MC knows he is a villain and has no desire to change. Even when he knows he will die, His only option is escape his predicament. And that's is by using the gongs. The way he moves them around to get what he wants is very low key. I actually really likes the story for how short it was, bit I wished there was more too it.

The first prince, the MC fiance is an as*hole... more>> and so is the king for what he pulled on the MC. I want to know what happens to the gongs and the shrine maiden after the MC supposedly died. Great story but Im dying to know what happened afterwards. <<less

The story is short and interesting. 🤔 As expected from Japanese novels, they always have inventive and interesting plot.

I like the ending and MC personality a lot. He's smart, sly and determined. The best part is that he didn't shy away from acknowledging himself as a villian. Despite suddenly regained the memory, he easily accepted it, and then move forward to find his way to live.
Spoiler

In this case, by manipulating people and events around him. It's incredible that he actually managed to wash himself sparkling clean after all that messy stuffs he's done by the time he regained his memory.

[collapse]
Besides, he is one of a rare hard working MC. Every plans come from his own brain. Every survival roads come from his own actions. That is impressive.

I was surprised with the ending though. I didn't expect he would do it like that. What a beautiful escape plan. I wish him a happy and comfortable life after this.
Spoiler

I'm glad he didn't end up with the first prince though, that man is a jerk.

Its unexpectedly a good story. At first I was quite interested after reading the description and decided to read it after reading some the reviews.

In my opinion, The ratings are very much in line with this story and it was enjoyable to read. Too bad there are only 8 chapters. I would still read it even if this story has 100+ chapter.

But I guess it's because the author wants story to not be dragged until the plot goes elsewhere. There are many novels with good plot lines but the story... more>> gets worse because of the unnecessary lines to fill the chapters.

Overall 5/5 i expected more steamy scenes because of the genre smut but I'm satisfied

Spoiler

Though I'm very much uncomfortable with the s*xual assault (the MC is forced to suck the kidnapper's (?) d*ck in the place of his 'soon not to be' fiance's (first prince) beloved.

[collapse]

Spoiler

I hate the first prince's beloved because of his 'righteousness'. (Imma just say 'first prince's beloved' because the person's name is not worth mentioning and I forget about his name even though I just finished reading.) In the original game, the first prince's beloved was supposed to get r*ped but our MC replaced his place. (Luckily the ML saved the MC before he get r*ped.) Anyway in the original game, the first prince's beloved still forgive the rapist even though the rapist r*ped him??!!Tf? I don't care if the person is one the ML's. Even if you're so kind-hearted bla bla bla you must've at least kick him in c*otch!

I'd rate this around 4.5-4.7 bc the only drawback was that it was so short and didn't completely close some of the side plot lines (but the main plot was wrapped up nicely)

Spoiler

I really wanted to see what happened to everyone else after the MC escaped. I also would've liked to have seen more of the back stories of the side characters too and more of the politics surrounding the king (tho, that'd be a really off tangent plot).

I'm glad that we got to see the ML's (Tristan, the MC's valet/s*ave the MC bought from the slums) POV in the last chapter.

The ML is considered a "loyal dog" but to me, he's more like a tamed wolf. While he always obeys the MC, it's not blindly or without question/suspicion or even without protest, at times. But he's desperate to remain by the MC's side, and since the MC will only keep a loyal dog, the ML doesn't mind playing that role. ML also has little regards to anyone not the MC too.

[collapse]

This is a reincarnation story where the villain!MC remembered his past life, but that doesn't have much of an effect on his current villainous personality. At most, his memories of his past life just offers him information that he is able to utilize in this life.

Technically, he fits the interpretation of a villain, but I think he's really a product of the elitism in a society that runs on a class system (tho, he does have a sort of sadistic/callous streak).

Spoiler

and he does also order the kill of his illegitimate half-brother, in order to obtain a body to fake his own death--but if you look at it from his nobleman standpoint, an unacknowledged commoner half-brother probably wouldn't have worth beyond any other commoner, which isn't a lot either.

[collapse]

Recommended for ppl who like reincarnated villain!MCs, an all too short story for the excellent world building potential it has, and the plot focusing on MC out-maneuvering everyone to avoid his fated downfall. <<less

I wish there was an extra chapter showing how the ending affected other characters. Especially Eric.

Sigh, I want him to suffer.

The ending was perfect. But, being a short story, I didn't get to relish the awesomeness of Uli (MC).

... more>> MC is cunning.

He isn't a good person. He might have transmigrated into a villain. But, he fits the role. And, ML? He likes MC's cruelty.

No. This cruelty isn't towards ML.

When time is short, and you already did every bad thing you were to as a villain, you can't use the "I've changed" excuse. That's where this novel is unique.

How he white-washes his villain image. <<less

loved it! Loved how MC remained a villain even after remembering his previous life! This is more realistic in my opinion, especially since he’s already old enough and has his own self identity already, with only his past influencing some of his actions but not overall character.

I always hated how MCs do a whole 180 switch but this one was just to my flavour.

the ML’s character is also strangely delightful, definitely a willing dog.

wish there was more but at the same time, it ended on the best moment but I... more>> wouldn’t mind reading the couples life in another country <<less

Ok story with some complaints from me:

Spoiler

I just didn't like how Erik's bio father, Gordon (which ew, one of Ambrose's capture target is Erik's bio dad Gordon?!), sexually assaulted Uly, there was no need for that scene.

I also don't understand why the king tried to frame Uly when he had a hint of who was Erik's bio dad was.

I wanted to see Erik suffer after Uly's fake su*cide

extremely well-written short story, this author rlly knows how to pull off a full and satisfying story in under 10chapters

the main character doesnt suddenly try and fix all his wrongdoing Just Because he realized he's been cast as a villain, he knew that abt himself from the start! He's a cruel and self-serving person and it makes for such a delicious story

the main relationship is just a lil bit sick and twisted but thats just bc the charas are, I for one found their dynamic delicious and perfect for the... more>> kind of story it is <<less

I REALLY love this story. It was not shy potraying a genuine evil and scheming guy and thus unlike most otome games, didn't even bother much excusing his poor behavior because of misunderstandings or what not. He's straight up as the otome game suggest, a scheming guy and in this story we see how a genuine villain behaves after realizing their doomsday in seven days.

Initially I thought it be like a harem or where it captures all target's heart but it didn't thankfully go in that road. The story also... more>> explores possible politic schemes and etc. Which really makes my scheming loving heart scream.

Although would wish that we would see the exact reaction we hope to see from the hero and first prince, still find this end good. <<less

Short but densely packed story with superb story and character writing.

Has "reincarnation into game world" trope where MC is the villain, but it's so different from most stereotypical fantasy BLs available where the MC acknowledges his villainy as well as not immediately doing a 180 like most stories - which is what makes this story absolutely amazing.

MC is cunning but smart in his own villainous way and the ML, is loyal to MC with an actual self-belief rather than a blind one.

Definitely worth reading, and re-reading.

I always love a story where the MC is not a Mary Sue but also not fully evil. Every person is like that right? That's just natural. Also what I really love in this novel too is the fact that the MC did not waste his love for someone who clearly used to love him but changed one day and then made him feel ashamed by cheating. I love me an MC who knows his worth and give the one who loves him the most a chance.

I thought it would be your average transmigration BL novel: MC is in the body of a villain, have a mental breakdown and tries to get rid of his fate, somehow every man falls in love with his 💫 pure heart 💫 wich is completely opposite of his personality few days ago, wow.

But it wasn't. I'm not saying spoilers but this novel is short and enjoyable, and the plot wasn't something I was expecting, but it's a nice surprise. Truly worthy the legendary five stars.

I really did not expect it to be that good. It was much longer than I thought it would be and there is actually a lot of plot and intricacy. It's 1v1, no harem, and I surprising liked the pairing a lot.

This was very fun to read. Usually villains in otome plot stories with smut are written poorly but it isn't the case here. MC's personality doesn't suddenly change because of recalling his previous life memories. He's a villain and he actually maintains his personality and I love that. (I'm tired of the cliche of a villain becoming a goody two shoes after remembering the past or something)

This feels a bit similar to the Show must go on and honestly I want more side stories to actually show what happened... more>> after the MC escaped. Like the side plots of the otome game characters and the political thread with the king etc.

It's short but definitely fun to read. I actually recommend this to readers who like the villain trope.

Overall a 4 star rating from me <<less

Actually pretty good! I have low expectations of Otome-Isekai BL novels since they're often too trope-y, especially smut ones, but this pleasantly turned out to be a worthwhile read.

Short but sweet and wrapped up the main premise. Could have afforded a little more exposition on the side characters and fleshed them out more but it still worked out and the MC really shone as a level-headed, efficient, and unapologetic villain.

Overall, a decent one-sitting read!
