This is rebirth story. Like other common rebirth story, it's mostly about revenge or doing what they regret in their previous life. In this novel, it's all about revenge.

I actually love the two main characters. Both Chen Qizhao and Shen Yuhuai really interesting characters. They really stand out individually, their position is equal. The two main characters both also smart in their own way. They never let their vigilance go down and this is what I love from this couple.

The villain is also quite interesting. When you think you see all the layers, they will shed another layer and this is actually make the story entertaining. I love the battle of wits between the villain and the main characters. It's an entertaining and enjoyable read.  <<less

I was going to give this A score, but towards the end too many cliches happened and I was not very happy with the way the story was revealed. But my previous good feelings about the story itself still lingers so I give it a good score still. 

Despite the later part of the story, the overall novel itself was really good. The reborn story was written very well and it's also very entertaining. The character's growth is also very good and properly explained. <<less

Beginning is very good, and the plot is awesome. The rebirth story that went beyond my expectation. Giving it A score because it has the same formula as other reborn story, and there's an unclear background between the two leads, which takes some points from being truly good. <<less

My personal favourite. It was not without flaws, but it's a story that completely throws logic and the author knew it very well. Even then, it manages to bring out an emotional story between two people who shouldn't be able to interact with each other in the first place. <<less

To be honest, I actually really enjoy the story. It was fun and actually very easy to follow. The problem is, the transmigration itself feels really weird and it feels like there's no real "rules" to follow. There are, surprisingly, 3 main characters in this story. Zhou Chenxi, Lu Ji, and Luo Xinghe. This caused the story to be complicated, not in the sense of plot, but in the way that's confusing to the reader. When you think it's just a novel character being conscious that they're in the novel, but now we also have 2 other transmigrators to the novel. It was wild, and most of the times I wanted to give up due to the way the story was told. I think the author also gave up in the middle, and I wish I never pick it up.

But still, it was still quite entertaining. I love the 2 characters, except for Luo Xinghe. They are just too OP in their own way, but their interaction felt very "real" among the many couples in the transmigration book I've read. <<less

The usual transmigration story. Not the best but also not that bad. 

The same as other protagonist in many transmigration novel, Xia Wan, the main character, is the most OP. He can design jewelry (though this didn't matter in the end), he can become the popular mukbang anchor in a short time (again, this also didn't matter in the end), and also the painter with amazing capability (this did matter, but not by much). All in all, Xia Wan is all in one go. He's the best of the best that you could get and no one can stand against him. Except for our male lead, Huo Yu. Again, the usual cold, aloof, distant male lead, who is only nice and warm with the main character. The typical genius with sad back story. 

It feels like all the same transmigration always have the same plot: get revenge because of sad past, have secret identity later on (in which Xia Wan is part of this, and no, this is not spoiler since the summary already spoiled it), or to be the most powerful person in existence. For this novel, all of them present. It's like buy 1 get all type of situation.

Despite my somehow bad impression, the story itself was not that bad. At least, it's easy to read and there's no dull moment. I still think it's too long for it's simple or almost non-existent plot, but I do love both Xia Wan and Huo Yu. All the other characters become insignificant, and even though I was actually very curious about Su Tang and Shen Yan's story, but I guess they have their own book, because it was left hanging with no explanation at the end. 

Overall, it's a decent read. <<less

What makes this story unique and stand out from the others due to the personality of both the main characters. Lu Yiman and Yu Chuang both broken people with very sad background, and this making them feel very insecure in life and love. Yu Chuang showed his love in an extreme way, while Lu Yiman is like a mad man when in love.... more>>

The reason it's B-tier for me is due to the writing. It could be due to the translation or it could be due to the way the author chose to told the story, but it's quite boring most of the time. It's just a wall of text explaining the situation but the interaction between the characters very minimum. The author might want to make the story look more "mature" but it's harder to digest with so little interaction. I'm usually one who likes to have long explanation, but this author style felt like they're explaining to the little details but with little substance.

Ending is very good so it also helped the score to be higher for me. It's one of those read that's not the best but not very bad for me. <<less

I would like to give this novel the A+ score, because I really love the story. It's the usual rebirth story; one person back to the past to save the other from bitter and sad life. What makes it different is that our MC, Lu Xingjia, know that he loves the ML, Qin Mudong, right from the beginning, and his reason to help Qin Mudong is because he is the person he loves. And it's so refreshing to see the clear motive of the MC, which makes it easier to connect to his reason for wanting something better for his loved one. That's why it felt more impactful to me when he get... more>> the second chance to fix what's wrong in the past.

I also love that Qin Mudong is not the usual "cold and aloof" guy with no reason. He, as Lu Xingjia mentioned many times, a very good and nice person. It's his circumstances that make him turn into a cold and unfeeling person. And the reason why he even did what he did in the past is due to him getting disappointed over and over again. If only there's one person who could give him warmth. 

This is also the reason why this rebirth story felt more impactful. Saving someone you love is much larger reason than just wanting to change what's going to happen. Of course, it doesn't mean that the usual rebirth story not good, but most of the time, the rebirth story had very little plot. This time, the plot is so integrated to the story, and it creates a powerful narrative throughout the entire journey.

I also love the second couple. They're very delightful and fun to read. Both intelligent people and know what they need to do the moment they realize their feelings for each other. 

In overall, the story is really good and the characters also really good and well-written. <<less
