the politics parts were not mainly played by protag, but by others but the protag's heavily involved
(the protag is a magic hobbyist)
One of the plotholes I have been unable to understand is how come he became so traumatized to what happened to the original host, I'm quite sure it's the soul transmigration/possesion, not the "old memory resurfaced" type, but well for this part I think maybe it's just that the original host's memories are much too vivid when he had them replayed in his brain during his fever, so it felt like he experienced it himself
This even has a war arc! I thought it would never happen! Seeing how the author wrote the story thus far, I kinda expecting it to have war strategy included in the story, since the author has been so thorough in writing this story
Characters are flashed out enough, the ML is very decent, respectful, trustworthy, dependable, always puts the MC's wishes and well-being first, he isn't r*pey or even just pushy at all (up to where I read).
I love him. For a Japanese western-fantasy novel, it's clearly one of the better ones. But it has the typical problems many Japanese novels (and Manga) have. MC's has a serious case of Shojo-heroine.
He's the most beautiful person ever, hated by his family but loved by everyone else (even strangers), helpless damsel in distress, naïve and dense, too helpful and compassionate for his own good, never does anything wrong, and he's the biggest goody-two-shoes on the planet. It's quite sickening. Despite him being a transmigrator, he fits in right away, maybe his origin plays an actual role later in the story but up until now it's just a golden finger he uses to bring wondrous modern inventions to fantasy-mediaeval-Europe, without any drawbacks like not being able to adapt to this unfamiliar world. Just overall your typical ultra-perfect, super lucky Manga-MC. If you are into fantasy, very slow burn romance, and are immune to Shojo-heroine-syndrome, then try it out, you'll probably end up either loving or hating it.
