Qin Mian opened his eyes and found himself lying in a leaky thatched room. The problem was that he was still in his family’s villa beforehand! What’s more, another man was lying next to his leg in the quilt!

The man sat up quietly, his upper body exposed as looked at Qin Mian for a moment before he carried a worn-out bowl with a cracked corner from the low table at the head of the bed. The man said in a muffled voice, “Wife, drink water.”

Qin Mian’s eyes rolled backward and he passed out.

Title explanation: 勉为其男 [miǎn wéi qí nán] have the same sound as 勉为其难 [miǎn wéi qí nán] which means to do something reluctantly. 勉 [miǎn] is also part of MC’s name: Qin Mian. Also, 其[qí ] sounds the same as 妻 [qi] means wife. So, there are words plays. Basically, Qin Mian reluctantly becomes someone’s man [wife] after he transmigrated.

Nothing special but I really enjoyed this novel.

In the beginning it reminded me a lot of "the only favorite ugly husband" but it later went another way.

What I did like was the flow between MC and ML. While ML is the taciturn type, MC is the more outgoing type. Both are intelligent but show it in different ways. When MC transmigrated he was already (forcefully) married and I appreciate that there was no overpowering (rape) ongoing. Both grew closer with time and fell in love. While MC is the... more>> wife his husband never insisted on "gender" roles and was fully supportive. I simply like a good working relationship without intern drama.

The whole story around this family was... OK. The story lost steam in the later parts and some foreshadowing never came to a conclusion. So there were some strings left dangling.

The writer mixed some genre together with ok outcome. MC has a space from the beginning and is basically used for the spring water and storage and cultivation is part of the story. Also there is mixed in cooking novel, an palace drama novel and a bit of showbiz. No it is not Infinity flow. It's a story about growing, getting rich, dealing with former problems, going back to their roots.

Although this novel has some holes and is a bit mixed wired, I could just read another 100 chapters of this wholesome family. <<less

Although there's some plotholes. The story was interesting and wouldn't make you feel boring. When you read this book, it will make you feel like you've been living with them while they were living their own lives. So far so good, I recommend this story. There's hardly any stories like this.

Essentially this is just a go-for-wealth slice of life with constant face slapping. If you’re into that, this is for you. If you like more interesting and complex plots, romance, or characters, pass on this one.

5/5 - SO CUTEEE AND NOT BORING AT ALL. Altough I got to say the author just put all possible tropes in the plot without reasons, like I think the author would just put plot holes in the start of the story and just fill it in along the way with whatever bullsh*t she wants AHAHAH. Like I still remember when ML past was revealed, I was like what the f*ck since when *insert trope here* is here.

Still a good read tho 👌

I swear on my life, this story is amazing!!! After reading this for the first time, it immediately becomes my favorite story ever!!! I rarely have such a strong attachment to any kind of stories but this... This story already proves that it deserves many readers to recognize it... Also applause for the translator's team for their amazing translation.

Btw, this is my 3rd time rereading it 😆💗

this is a very Gary-sue novel but I enjoyed how the author incorporated every possible genre that he can use that its quite amusing.

i enjoy the world hopping but I wish that the author has expounded it more.. Like I wont hesitate to read more if the author transitioned to quick transmigration genre.

overall its quite light read because there are basically no mishaps due to his gary-sue halo.

It's a good story, sweet and fluffy. I specially liked how the MC and ML cultivated their feelings and how they got together which is really sweet. It is not too rush and also not too slow like the other stories

it took them a whole volume to be together which is about 87 chapters

I also love the two buns. So cute and squishy

Anyway my biggest regret about this novel is the last three volumes were not elaborated well it was rush. However, it is not dissapointing. I just wished the story is much longer since it can be still broaden.

All in all it is a good story that will warm your lonely hearts <<less

Sweet, satisfying story. There's a lot of plotholes that are very obvious as you read later in the story, some of the timeline and pacing isn't perfect - but if you enjoy transmigrating to ancient times and building a family, you'd probably be very satisfied with this story.

I can read a thousand more chapters of this!! Such a gem! Both MC & ML is so OP LoL. MC smart & quick-witted, ML strong & loyal. After pushed off the stair by his step-brother, MC transmigrated into a 14 years old boy in ancient era. What's more, the body is recently married to a man! Our ML life is hard, he's forced to run from home by his dad & step-mother at 12, but have a fateful adventure, after 10 years he's back, unfortunately the disappointing father &... more>> even more disappointing step-mother forced him to marry an unknown boy just because a prophecy. Thankfully ML willing to dote on MC & MC is smart and quickly divide their family to avoid the disappointing parents. After that, MC start many money-making business and quickly become rich & respected with ML.

The story is really interesting & no boring part imo. ML really just want someone who could truly belong to him to give his love to. MC of course is softened by ML devotion. There's no mpreg, however MC got inheritance from articifier & alchemist lover (male) who want their own children, so MC & ML receive their own baby in surprise. And it's a twin! Super cute & smart twin son. I'd love to read more about the twins, but I suppose the author got bored or something and quickly arrange an ending. Not to say I'm dissatisfied with the ending, but it is kinda abrupt. <<less

It's so precious to read this novel. This is one of the best novels I ever read. I love how the author writes it, I like almost the whole of this story except the last chapters.

I think it's somewhat useless to tell Qin Mian's father the truth about him being a cultivator. And yeah, I like the twin the most. They are so adorable and wise.

It was a cute story, If it ended before the last arc, I could probably rate it it a 4 star.

I wished there was at least an indication that they could switch worlds. As of 214, it just seems like they were transported to the modern world and now they have to stay there. They JUST made it back home to their village.

This novel started off really good and the first 50 chapters were very interesting. But after a while it just gets so monotonous, like the MC is just a OP character that uses his knowledge of food and modern devices (as if that wasnt enough he also has help of magic) so they literally get through everything without any troubles whatsoever, making it quite bland.

The best part of the story that kept me reading was the relationship between the main couple, like they are just so whipped for each other... more>> that I think is adorable, but other than that this story drags on for way too long haha. But people who love a long, lighter read would def like this! <<less

This story is really good! The plot is flow is pretty consistent. There wasn't too many up and down. A very relaxing read. Some people may think there needs to be more face slapping (ie. Me), but I guess the biggest revenge to those that look down on you is to live 100 × better than them. Do not stoop down to their level, MC and ML kept it classy. MY GOD THIS STORY WAS LONG...

Not as long as Legendary Master’s Wife though, but still long enough. Unoriginal premise- you’ve seen it all before: transmigrator/reincarnation, subtle cultivation, mpreg (which was the tag that baited me). Reading this novel was akin to eating a 10 course meal.. slowly & heartily. MC transmigrates into another body in Ancient China after being pushed down the stairs & dying. The body he’s in is apparently married to a man! Ohhh what to do... It’s a pretty down-to-earth, subtle novel. Not too much... more>> drama involved, but pretty fun face-slaps to read about. But its theme of “rags to riches” in Ancient China wasn’t boring at all. I quite like their slow build-up & it felt gratifying to see our family of two slowly expand to six. The end did flash by pretty quick; I’m sure the author was more than spent at that point. Some plot holes exist, but the overall journey was satisfying! <<less

This is a heart warming story about a couple growing their family. Truly, this story is not perfect, there are times that it felt quite rushed (especially around 180+ chaps) but if you want a story to just past the time, with no angst and just relationship development, I recommend this to you!

This was a really relaxing read. I love that the children came relatively early and we could see them grow up. I kind of wanted this to just keep on going, the plot was a bit all over the place but I enjoyed it and I would’ve loved for more!

It felt like that ending was just the beginning of another one of their adventures 😌 mooooooore 😅

Qin Mian transmigrated, Got a great hubby and kids and overall a great life farming and running his business.. Well it should have stopped there. The author instead did a great fanfare to carry them back into the capital where the premise of the book started to change. I enjoyed this for the farming, using modern knowledge and the taciturn and Cold but extremely caring and loving of his wife Gong. The last one still works but the other two have flied off to who knows where.

Now the novel has... more>> become draggy and slightly boring with not much plot. If the author had stopped at a point before coming to the Capital, I would have rated this a 5-star with my eyes closed but now I am disappointed. I am not planning to drop this but I have lost the initial interest that I had in it. <<less

I really liked this novel until it started going from opening businesses and getting rich, face slapping people to becoming Gary-sue couple who is good at EVERYTHING, to a point they became super powerful cultivators wtf. And the chapters after the birth of the children, omg, dull and full of fillers. I started skipping paragraphs of their family’s interactions coz it became an extreme slice of life. I am having a hard time going forward with this novel.

I put it in my reading list for a while before I'd go back to read it again. Overall, a little bit good, good enough for the fluff, face slapping, and the gourmet, lastly the farming life.

what made me feel a little disappointed is the cultivating shit. If it does have martial art with qin kong and sword artist it might not be a real sad point for me.
