My favorite work by this author. I likd the ML a lot, like a lot and I feel he deserved more chapters from his pov, especially from the original one from the first timeline. MC is iconic as well and captivating. Honestly both MC and ML are on the same level, in the sense both of them can captivate you independently as both stand out from each other and have qualities that makes the MC and ML unique.

Also the first novel where the secondary characters are actually important and play... more>> a role and the first novel where I truly cared about the secondary characters as much as the main characters.

Also I also wish we got some chapters from the pov of the original Villain cause in all honesty, the original luo Binghe and the original shen Qingqiu are actually two sides of the same coin and I find their ending tragically poetic yet fair. <<less

Such entertaining read!!! Funny and MC and ML are too adorable together. Love MXTX's novels!! Love all the Fanfiction on AO3 as well. Can't get enough of our sizhun and his adorable, whiney demon disciple.

This is literally what got me into Chinese novels. I’d never read one or even considered them before I read SVSSS.

I’m not good at reviews. I will say it’s not perfect. But it’s entertaining, has made me laugh and cry, and I love the MC and the ml.

SY is completely oblivious to making men fall in love with him and I’m 100% here for it. Honestly if this were told from any perspective but his it’d be more of a tragedy than a comedy.

Don't you hate it when xiaxia BL novels have very long, boring portions where the couple does not get to interact and build their relationship? Well, you've come to the right novel! SVSSS is not one of them.
There is almost constant interaction between MC and ML, so I recommend it to people who can survive a slow burn relationship but aren't fan of drawn out and lengthy fillers. The System is immersive and the main character has his funny moments.
So far this is my favorite BL novel and I think it will be hard to top. SVSSS is entertaining, funny, sexy and spares you from boring moments!

Only thing I hoped more from this novel was:

more interactions with the original Luo Binghe. I think there could have been more oppoturnities with how this character was used.

We all should be thankful the author decided to write the book from our beloved clown Shen Qingqiu’ perspective, because if it was from our little maiden, oh boy..... Honestly, this book is my favorite from the ones currently translated from MXTX, it was the first one I read and it just has a special place in my heart that no other novel can surpass, it does have flaws, everything does, doesn’t change the fact that every character in this book has a very characteristic personality that gives life to... more>> the story. And when I say characteristic, I don’t mean cliched, but that every single one of them is distinguishable and I can remember every single one of them, if not by name then by role. I’ve given stories 5 stars before, but for me, this one is my absolutely favorite and the most dear to me, but then again you can never go wrong with MXTX’s novels, this author can create fantastic worlds and characters that readers can empathize, hate and love. I hope more people can read this book and don’t get scared by that yandere tag, our ML is super devoted and would never hurt MC if not for the given circumstances (that you will found out if you read the book ;)). I will end my rant here and just say that you should really give this book a try!! <<less

SVSSS is about a man who dies and transmigrated into the last novel he read online which was a 'black stallion' novel about a blackened protagonist who was abused by his jealous and evil shizun eventually turning to demonic cultivation and becoming an unparalleled godly strong man with a harem of beauties that he papapa regularly. OF course he transmigrated into the villainous shizun's body and comedy ensues as this poor modern man is unwillingly controlled by a system. Things don't pan out the way the original 'tr*sh' webnovel does... more>> and as canon diverges, so do the character's personalities.

It's a hilarious comedy about a lowkey terrified shizun and his sticky wifey-like disciple?? ~Shizun you've bent the protagonist and made him cry like a woeful wronged wife~ <<less

Absolotely hilarious from MC's POV, would've cried like a lil b*tch if it was from Ml's pov. The author's first novel and it shows, it lacks the same emotional weight of the later works of them but this will always be my favourite. It was not written to be a great novel and there's nothing wrong with that; it's funny, enjoyable and adorable.

Anyway, shizuuuuuuuuun!

Umm...a pretty good read. A bit similar to 'I've led the villain astray'.

The MC looks aloof but what goes in that head cracks me up. The story is well thought out and each part keeps you hooked.

Its cultivation based on the name only. A fun read with a side of melodrama.

Also this novel holds my favourite villain (??) and his lackey. I just wanna give a big hug to them both!!!

Honestly, my favourite novel of all time. Shen Yuan is hilarious, his internal monologue is amazing and Binghe is really sweet, if a little intense lol. There are definitely some iffy scenes, and the s*x scene is definitely not a fluffy one, but I think the characters are portrayed incredibly, and character development for side characters is done very well - I wish we saw more of them though! Liu Qingge is an amazing character and I could go on about him for hours but if there's anything I think... more>> could be improved, it's the Original Goods. Shen Jiu is a really compelling character, and it really would have been interesting to bring him back or even just have him come back in an extra bc it feels a little shallow on the part of all the side characters - like oh ok, this person we kinda disliked has turned super nice overnight we're so happy now is such a cruel mentality, and I wish we got to see Shen Jiu's character development. Good things there's so so many incredible fics for this series! They're what's really cemented this as my fav. <<less

Uum ok, I didn’t mean to give this so many stars, I clicked and it registered 5 when I clicked on like 2...

I don’t hate or not like this novel, for a first time novel it’s written quiet well. But XD you can also tell very badly, that the author wasn’t very familiar with how to keep readers interested. So we’re left with a novel that uses ‘the MC is thrown into a new scenario’ every 2-3 chapters. This is exhausting to read. Having SQQ being thrown into or running... more>> into a completely new set of circumstances constantly also gets repetitive. I won’t even comment on him and LB being reunited then separated. This too happens constantly. It happens so much that the second they end up together in a room I’m already waiting for them to be somehow, conveniently forced apart.

It’s actually kind of funny, but kind of not, to see the author making fun of plot armour and idiotic and nonsensical devices used in proud demon way. And then, use it themselves...

Anyway, it’s enjoyable enough to read and not get bored. You might get a little annoyed at the repetitiveness, but the MC is funny and interesting enough to keep you going. <<less

Came back to reread this and just wanted to write a quick review.

OK, so first off, it is suchhhh a fun read. I also really love it because it was the first web novel I've ever read. I saw the 2 chapters of the manhua by one of my favorite artists, and got super interested in it but knew it wouldn't be continued so I decided to give the novel a go.

Butttt, sometimes I really hate the ML lol, he's kind of creepy and crazy, well he did go through... more>> a blackening so it makes sense, but the dubcon is eehhhhhhh not so great regardless. He's super cute in the beginning before his blackening though.

Also ahhhhh I love the MC so much, his elegant and beautiful exterior personality is sooo amazing, I love how he covers his mouth with his folding fan to hide his subtle expressions, I LOVE HIS FOLDING FAN lolol. His folding fan is my favorite thing in the world holy cow.

Anyway, some things I don't like about it, like the fact it's kinda not super consensual, but omgggg it is such a fun read. <<less

Shamelessly fun read. Probably counts as a crack fic, but so good!

Story: Straight MC transmigrates into a harem cultivation novel as the ML's villainous shizun. He has to change his relationship with ML (without getting dinged for OOC) to avoid the original bad ending but ends up having a very powerful and very sticky ML attached to him! Story is solid but not meant to be as well-thought out as the ones above on this list.

MC: The shou. Hilarious, sassy, and delightful to read. His inner monologues/thought processes are... more>> on point.

ML: The gong. Very sticky.

Relationship development: Honestly, not a very healthy relationship: ML is possessive, and MC is kinda flaky--with a whole smattering of misunderstandings that could have been avoided if they had communicated more. So a very common trope in BL. Relationship development was on a good pace until the end when MC suddenly gives into ML in order to save ML--that was rather whiplash-inducing.

Commentary: My recommendation would be to treat this as a crackfic/parody, which it does an excellent job at. Truly, the only thing I have a major complaint about is MC/ML's first time together. This has been made into an anime (and MC's inner dialogues are on point!). <<less

This was a fun and somewhat exciting/interesting novel. I loved all the characters, especially the system. There wasn't much chemistry between the two, but other than that I thought everything was great.

Okay. I'm going to be honest.

I agree the main couple didn't have any chemistry. The theme itself was very interesting, however I believe that with the building up until the Abyss fall (?) scene, the story went convulsed. It was very hard to keep going until I gave up.

I feel the lack of chemistry has to be with the fact that Shen Yuan is not Shen Jiu. To be more precise, Shen Yuan had to deal with a life that isn't of his own and he had to deal also... more>> with a blackened ML.

Also I agree there should've been a lot of building around the side characters. However I feel it's like that because of the limited point of view of the narrator. I guess we can't see a lot of the progress with them.

I understand the main reason for creating this story, as a satirical critique to stallion novels (I guess? I'm not sure), but the story had potential for more. <<less

All I want to say is that this is absolutely worth it, it's one of the good danmei that I ever read so far, it contains lots of sadness gahh (I cried few times) I felt sorry for this pitiful cute disciple being pushed down by his Shishu because of that bruh system *sigh* that's why he blackened but so far will still do everything to get his tsundere Shishu back >3< even if he fought the world :>

Wow!!! I love binghe so much!!❤️? I'd risk it all for him, my small squishy fluffy binghe ಥ‿ಥ sqq is one of the funniest characters I've ever read, his inner dialogue makes the novel very entertaining and easy to read. Sqh is hilarious!!! I love his dynamics with mbj hdjddjd it's a very entertaining and light novel. Although there's sad scenes, it's mostly so easy to get hooked up and once you start you have yo finish it!

This was a nice read. I only read it cause I wanted some BL action cause I came from TEIO, and really craved for some detailed BL action hahahaha but this was nicee, although I have to be honest that the translations could be better, like there could be better words to use but regardless of that I was still able to understand the story.

Lui binghe was really cute and I like that the story wasn’t entirely changed, that he still somehow followed the darkening path, when in fact he... more>> just needs Shen Qingqiu hahaha I loved the extra of how the original Luo Binghe suddenly came to their world and had a brief feeling of jealousy to the Bing-mei hahaha at least in a parallel world, he was truly happy.

I liked how Shen Qingqiu thinks, he’s funny to read. I like Yue Qingyuan’s non-ending care for SQQ. I liked the change that happened in Liu Qingqi (?) like how he really treat SQQ as comrade. The author was also nice to read, especially his scenes with Mobei.

This was shorter than other novels but it was really a complete novel that left me with satisfaction ☺️❤️ <<less

I can't believe it! Almost a year from when I started reading and I'm now finally finished. Reading in a serialized way definitely had its downsides - I'd forgotten some of the older plot lines, and the story had stubbornly entwined itself with other stories - but it also is extremely bittersweet to finally finish it.

I honestly loved the story and the backstories that the author fits in. None of the villains are truly villainous in the end. In fact, the good characters were a bit more two dimensional than... more>> the villains.

There's definitely some cheesy-ness, and some catering to tropes, but it seemed like the author was fully aware of this and had a lot of fun integrating her explanations for this into the story.

In the end, this novel was a fun, fluffy read and wonderful way to spend a couple hours each month for the last year. <<less
