Yan Shuyu, a big fan of all sorts of cliche CEO novels, had transmigrated into a book —

In the novel, the wealthy CEO male lead has a villainous stepmother. She put up a front of being nice and tender to him, when in fact she was bullying the male lead with her son. After she had successfully driven the male lead and his father apart, her ambition continued to grow as she attempted to take away the inheritance from the male lead. In the second half of the book, the truth came out — that the father had no feelings for her whatsoever but was merely using the two of them to hone his son’s character. In the end, both the stepmom and her son were sent to jail by the male lead after he took over the family business.

Yan Shuyu transmigrated and became the well-hated villainous stepmother, but she had transmigrated to the time before everything happened, and the male lead was still a foolish child. Only a fool would want to become the stepmother of a foolish child. Yan Shuyu took a longing look at her “assigned husband”, who was pretty much like the Sleeping Beauty, before she quickly packed up and made a run for it.

I have reread this about 3-4 times. Cannot quite remember. It is one of my favourite go-to stories when I’m feeling down and need a laugh. For other readers, you either love it or hate it. Hence the many low scores and yet with high scores too. It’s a mixed bag.

i will edit my review later to give a longer one. Here’s a short one first.

MC is the very definition of White Sweet Foolish. She is naive, soft, and an airhead. She is just so blur and clueless and isn’t... more>> a big schemer at all. If you dislike MC like this then don’t read. She is very cute to me and I’d love a cute timid lovable wife like her if I was a man. As a woman she could be bullied for being a beautiful ditz. Luckily she has ML in the story to protect her.

ML is blackbellied manipulative and could be a secret Yandere lol. He lays traps for MC to ensnare her so if you hate ML who are blackbellied, avoid this story too. In my opinion I think they are a great fit for each other because even his blackbellied manipulative calm ways are ruined by her natural airheadedness. Sometimes MC says things that even stumps ML. I am glad ML has a high position as a CEO to protect this airhead MC. I just really enjoy their interactions and how ML coaxes MC to be his. He doesn’t imprison her or hurts her: He lays a path that she won’t falter from.

Both buns are my fave and how they interact with MC.

Two stars for convoluted plotline. Is it a transmigration or reborn? Is it a novel or real life? The character set up for the MC is as a shallow and vain person, which is different from the usual MC characters where they are self-confident but who are still nice and humble. The writer depicted her as conceited and a bit flighty, BUT instead of finding it funny, I found it irritating, annoying, and her actions as idiotic. She made things more complicated that they should be. I guess it was... more>> a plot tool, otherwise the story won't move, but it was still irritating. The writing, I'm not a fan. I skipped a lot as the writer tended to be wordy. There you go... my two cents. <<less

I really want to like this novel. At first it was good and fun to read, but later on as the story progressed, the FL kept on getting on my nerves.

What I really don't like is how submissive the FL is. It's not that I want a domineering FL, it's just that at times where she should've gotten mad, get things straight or whatever, she never go and get any justice for herself everytime she's bullied/pressured by ML. It's just too tiring to read it as it happens more and... more>> more as the ML pursues her. I feel like taking it out once or twice would still be okay when the ML went too far.

She's really negligent too. Things that's should've been thought thoroughly, she happily forgets about those all the times.

She truly takes foolish to another level and is indecisive af. I don't care at first, but like, sis go get your things together when u should. <<less

It was a good read.

I just felt that Ye Roncheng was really pitiful. It wasn't his fault to have an accident, lost his memories, tricked by his parents whi hid everything. By the time he recovered, . MC was already engaged with ML.

He was alone till ending.

1st - her original life she remembers

2nd- what she read from the book,

3rd- the current story. She thought she was not the owner of the body, but it was her all along, she just did not recall

It was kinda confusing when Ye Roncheng told her, that he knows she's a transmigrator as she told him before but she doesn't recall doing so. Somewhere along the line that she has a memory of 2 lifetimes... <<less

I gave this novel a chance, but I decided to drop it in the end.

I MC doesn’t show enough self growth and I don’t love her selfish attitude.

also I some how don’t feel the love and affection between her and her son at all.
i think 180 chapters should be enough for me to judge a book and it doesn’t suit me taste.
