Yan Shuyu, a big fan of all sorts of cliche CEO novels, had transmigrated into a book —

In the novel, the wealthy CEO male lead has a villainous stepmother. She put up a front of being nice and tender to him, when in fact she was bullying the male lead with her son. After she had successfully driven the male lead and his father apart, her ambition continued to grow as she attempted to take away the inheritance from the male lead. In the second half of the book, the truth came out — that the father had no feelings for her whatsoever but was merely using the two of them to hone his son’s character. In the end, both the stepmom and her son were sent to jail by the male lead after he took over the family business.

Yan Shuyu transmigrated and became the well-hated villainous stepmother, but she had transmigrated to the time before everything happened, and the male lead was still a foolish child. Only a fool would want to become the stepmother of a foolish child. Yan Shuyu took a longing look at her “assigned husband”, who was pretty much like the Sleeping Beauty, before she quickly packed up and made a run for it.

After that, Yan Shuyu checked out her $250 remaining on her card. She turned to look at her son, who was clinging onto her leg and asking for milk. She wanted to look up at the sky and howl. Is it too late to go back to become the male lead’s whetstone?

Well, I loved it. A bit boring at first and the FL being so vain was kinda annoying that I nearly dropped it.

I started to get into it because of the interactions of the male lead x villain son x fl. I'm okay with the ending but it felt so rushed.

This is a story of a narcissistic simple minded girl who muddles her way through life and gets scammed into marrying the love of her life. READ THIS for all the cute moments with the kids and for the female lead who will have you grinning away with her simple-mindedness and relatable selfish reasonings.

I saw that some of the comments mentioned that it made no sense that she was actually the original villainous as she would not have done what she did since they were the same people. However,... more>> I think the reason why even though she transmigated prior and made the decisions that she did and became the villainess stepmothers is because her 20 years of hard life had made her jaded and washed away who she once was. As for the '3rd life' aka the current one, she was no longer marked by the hard past and her freshest memories were of her loving family and happy life where she was a pampered little girl. That's why she wasn't ambitious and determined to get it all for her son. <<less

Don't get fooled by the ratings! Their story was so amazing.

From the perspective of MC, her character was so damn down to earth. The common girls typical. Not the strong and smart type. She was a face-con, clumsy, realistic about money, imaginative with princess heart girl, an unreliable mother at the beginning but attentive kind.

The most amazing thing is the trajectory of the story. From how she was trying to deviate from her original fate, her love for her instan son that gave her strength to woke her up from... more>> her cowardice nature till her happy ending story together with ML.

Luckily she was a foolish, sweet and silly type. If she was a foolish, sweet but not silly type I am afraid she would become a cannon fodder for real. Hahahaha <<less

Giving this a 4 to up the general rating a bit because I don't think it deserves the 3.6 it has right now. Pretty fun and a good time waster. Lots of filler descriptions/character thoughts though, which I actually skipped over. Still enjoyed the story because of the ML mostly. Give it a try.

Recc for when you don't rlly wanna get too into the plot, but still want some time killer. The plot holes are plenty and the character motivation is shallow but if you need a breather for your brain def try it out.

The author shouldn't have focused so much on kids because they don't really know how to write realistic children, so all the kid focused scenes and ch that were rlly a huge eye roll.

I loved it. I never understood those who criticized the FL for its way of thinking. I was constantly waiting for a new chapter. I thank the translator for taking the job of translating this excellent novel. I thought he was going to encounter more obstacles, but knowing that he achieved his goals is great.

Lots of fun.

The MC is quite unique (refreshingly spontaneous and superfluous) while the ML is a "gentle" tipe of dominering. So, their interaction is really entertaining to read.

Really liked it, its a light read with hilarious twists and some unexpected results.

Honestly, this novel doesn’t deserve such a low rating. It’s funny, stress free, and the chapters may be numerous but they’re pretty short so it’s a quick read.

I gave 5 stars but 4.3 is my ideal. Only, other people have to give higher ratings for it to get there e.e

Sweet raising cute babies story. MC is a very carefree, straightforward girl, but also very naive and abit ignorant. But the character is quite refreshing compared to most chinese female in novel. She a total face con and abit narcissistic, but she’s a very responsible mom. And she very open about bedding the handsome ML, which in some circumstances which leaves the ML feel he was “ beded and then bolt” by MC. And MC inner dialogue is very funny.
ML is very intimidating, which I really feel (if in real life is abit bad) but with MC carefree, naive, easy to coax, they match each other. Because she always got scared when ML got abit angry and then give in to all ML requests. Lol but in MC perspective, she always foolishly think of the positive and be happy. So she kinda always “ get sold and help counting the money”
Most of the story is about how she trying to avoid the ML (so she can avoid the BE of her future self and her son) and raised her cute bun, then trick by ML to raise his bun too, (so he can raise MC and her bun)

Fun light read, no drama, or face slapping. Just lighthearted family story. Thank you

Its a fluffy comedic love story that I enjoyed reading. It sucks that the translator just had to split every chapter into 4 which made it take forever to translate when its supposed to be a pretty short story. After 290 I just skipped to reading on mtl.

I love the story. I rated it 5 just because of how much I enjoyed reading it.

I should never follow the flow of the negative feedbacks, I almost did not read it.

First of all, the kind of character the MC is, explained already from the very start. She's grew up spoiled so it'd be pretty ooc if she started becoming the epitome of responsibility right after her transmigration right? So we actually see her growth no matter how slow paced it was and will be.

She have a very few bottom... more>> lines and one of them is marrying the boss, so in her mind, cohabitation without marriage is better than marriage with the ML. She's a face con, and currently she's attracted with the ML but is not in love with him. I'm even anticipating the moment that marriage became the talk with them pairs lol. Wonder what shinanigans will happen because the MC as she is, it'd be wondrous an event that'll be.

There are also flaws with the story that I noticed while I was reading, first of all the chopped chapters, but considering how entertaining the story was, I ended up not minding it at all. Second, the names. Names at times became butchered more than a couple of times that I ended up thinking that maybe the translator have many projects thus ended up mixing the names from the kids to the MC n ML. I was quite confused at first but just shrugging them when I saw them. Third, grammar, and not that I'm great at it or anything just some things I knew so I noticed em along the way. Fourth, and last, things that I ended up confused with, just a few things though, like something happened that I thought just blunder but when I read the comments, it actually is a highlight so I ended up with a huh? That actually is a key? Like, I thought things happened too fast because things suddenly presented itself, and I was surprised how it happened, but in the end, I only didn't notice that it was laid out from quite a chapters back and I just forgotten or did not place it with importance. Probably due to the chopped chapters. Lol. But maybe it's just me.

That's all for the flaws. The rest is great. Very entertaining and quite engaging. There were moments I wish the MC did this instead if that, but whatever the MC did, it always became a new adventure for the readers haha.

So it’s a cute fluffy story after they get together but then your left wondering seriously what is the end goal/point in this story. Like the motivation at the start was to not get with father but then once she does get with him doesn’t really feel like there is a purpose in the rest of the story.

The writing is too long winded and all over the place, the development is so slow which makes me not enjoy the comedy in it at all.

I like the fact that it is not the typical CEO one night stand pregnancy situation and that they meet again soon after in good terms and it is what made the story interesting.

But later on FMC was quite shallow and was really superficial and ML is actually quite good, a bit manipulative, but overall he seems mature.

This was a pretty decent story. I'm always a fan of the "villainous" main character stories. I liked the MC quite a lot. She was self aware and pretty carefree and didn't really dwell on things. Loved her relationship with her son, who was a pretty great kid. The ML was pretty manipulative and it annoyed me that he kept pushing her into things she clearly didn't want to do, like meeting him, looking after his son. I wish the MC had stood her ground more or just straight up... more>> told him that she didn't want to do something rather than beat about the Bush and get backed into a corner.

I really enjoyed the translation, but then around chapter 250, the translator said the weren't going to translate "filler". Now filler is a very subjective term. What one person enjoys about a story and thinks matters is not the same as the next person. Over the next few chapters I noticed the story flow had gone. Things seemed really choppy and we were moving from scene to scene with explanation. I wondered whether I was overthinking, but my enjoyment had dropped. I tried MTL and realised that there was quite a bit included in "filler", and it's the stuff I enjoyed about the story, the more mundane, everyday scenes and thoughts. It is such a shame as the translation was really good, but has now cut out the author's words and therefore has created something different. Many people I imagine are quite happy with that, but for me something was lost. So instead I finished the story with MTL as at least I'd get all the scenes and thoughts the author intended. <<less

Interesting so far...

Although I understand the MC was not an independent adult and held no experience in every day-to-day life, such as raising a child and dealing with the ML, she should at least be able to know when to stop and when to continue. It's been awhile since I've read her backstory, but from what I gathered, the MC has a certain disposition of which she would become an object of interest, be it in her school days or at least within her own environment. Leading from that, the... more>> MC should have some experience in rejecting those interests, be it easy or hard. However, this thought of mine is only based on the information I have gathered from start and may have been distorted by other stories I have read or by the very fact that our MC does not act in a way she was presented in the beginning of the story.

I mention the inconsistency between her set character and her current actions, because the communication between the MC and the ML has been and will continue to be tedious and repetitive. The author has set their understanding of each other in a way where the MC (knowing the future and the intentions of the ML based on her knowledge of the book) will continue to change her story every time the ML (whose intelligence seems to be decreasing after every talk with the MC) continues to question her lies and half-truths.

If the MC was truly set upon not mingling with the ML, all she had to do was quickly erase her tracks and move far away after collecting her final check, leaving the ML of no way of continuously bumping into her which then results in the ML losing interest or forgetting all about her. I know I can't very well analyze the mentality and inner intentions of the MC or the author, but the intention of MC previously is now tainted with an emotional attachment one gets from repeated exposure of an individual and their actions.

Me saying all this, does not mean I hold any negative thoughts towards both the author and the overall story. After all, just by reading the title and the synopsis, the main objective in this story is for the MC and the ML to get together, marry, and have a family that treats both sons equally. I came to read this story because I am a fan of plots that are relative to villains/villainess, anti-heros, badass leads, and OP characters. Though the MC is not what I expected, I am more interested in the development of the relationship between the two young boys and the relationship of the ML will have with the MC's instant son. Even if the ML has been giving off a kind and benevolent attitude, we can't forget that in the story, he had I'll intentions that came about from the first moment he met with the stepmother. I can't help but be a little bit wary. Be that as it may, I might be just be overthinking.

Lastly, I did a simple calculation, and I estimate that the novel will end around chapter 366, +/- a few chapters. I was curious, since the status of what was provided says that it only had 90 chapters with 3 epilogues. However, the current post numbers exceeds 90, so I got curious on how far we were into the story. From what I can see, based on the current scheduling and the untranslated number of chapters, it would take about 2 years and a few months for the completion of the story.

BUT, don't take my word for it. I'm lacking in sleep and I'm not a 100% about my way of calculating the results. It's just a here and there lazy calculation. If someone sees that I'm wrong, I would be appreciative if they comment to me that I was and why. I'm not conceited, I accept all criticisms of any kind.

This story is so different from the usual Transmigration stories. She was completely ordinary. Aside from being a bit prettier than average, she had no skills or goals before she became the MC. Once she was, she also didn't really seem to get most of the memories. So, she thinks her son is cute and takes care of him the best she can, but she doesn't know what she is doing and doesn't feel a mother's love for him. So it's a steep leaning curve. With limited education before and... more>> after, she also doesn't have a lot of work options. She is vain, selfish and a little s*upid. However, she is also a positive thinker and is always moving forward. Nothing keeps her down. She is such a unique character. She is almost unlikable, but because you can understand her and because she is so real and not OP, you kind of want her to have a good life.

Her son is adorable and milks every scene he is in.

The ML has barely been around and is such a closed of character that even at ch.90, still have no idea what he is really thinking.

I can understand why some people won't like this story. I personally sometimes found myself going, "what are you thinking?" But it is refreshing to see a very human MC that feels real. If you suddenly had a kid and had never been around them, you would be a bit hopeless. If you didn't have an education, you can't be a lawyer/doctor/assassin/etc. She is an average young woman that found herself in a completely new life and is just doing the best she can.

She is utterly hopeless though. Thankfully she has people around her that help her. Its almost like she has a bit of the protaganist's halo with how things work out around her. Or it's just the power of an adorable, meng selling child. <<less

Nobody's perfect, and I appreciate the FL that she tries to be a good mother in her own way, well there's no perfect mother in this world

And I like ML, he tries to be a good father and husband in his own way
