This is probably the best novel that i've ever read, if not, it's definitely up there in my favorites. The romance between Lan Zhan and Wei Ying, WHOO. The fact that Lan Zhan waited 13 years... This story is super well done, I love all the twists and the mystery and our main character being horribly oblivious T-T I can't get over this book. I got incredibly invested in it, it was incredible. 10/10 recommend.

Btw...I found a post in Facebook and saw this drama called the Untamed. I realised that the two characters have very similar style to lanzhan and weiying description then it struck me.. this is Mo Dao Zu Shi (the real title) but I bet there’s no Danmei element in it.. just some bromance.. but I haven’t watched it so who knows... just wanted to share. I found the anime by accident and wanted to read the novel for the rest of the story, and I'm very glad I did! It fleshed out things that you didn't see in the anime. Even if you're not into BL there really isn't too much of that until the end. Wei WuXian always tries to do what he sees as right, even when it doesn't work out well for him in the end. I laughed and cried while reading and that usually means for me that the author and translators did a great job. I absolutely loved this novel ahhhhhh. There's an extremely well written plot line that has plenty of action which I really enjoyed. There's so much mystery and action, where Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji have to solve these mysteries. Yes, the romance is a bit slow, but for me that's fine because the end makes up for it (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). I first discovered this because of its live adaptation, The Untamed! When I discovered that it's adapted from a novel, I immediately read it. And I loved it!!! The details that was omitted from the live drama, I read on the novel.

I really loved it. Everything that was missing from scum villian could be found in mdzs. It's such a good stand alone story that the plot doesn't have to revolve around the romance to be enjoyable or to make complete sense. I think this is the first time I read such a long book in such a short amount of time.
What can I say... I think this book is one of the best things I have ever read in my whole life. The way the plot is developed, the characters, the era and the atmosphere are all perfectly presented by the author.
You just can't avoid loving all the characters.
The thing I liked most is how there isn't a hero and a villain: in the end everyone's reasons and thoughts makes you think about this concept - even though common sense can't understand it.
Although the names are a bit difficult to remember if you aren't used to them, the way every character pops out again in some point of the story, is intriguing.

The way Wei WuXian and Lan WangJi keep meeting and evolving their relationship is amazing and some how heart throbbing.

While you keep reading and you start to understand some past events and you can relate it to the present line of narration, it feels like you're completing a very difficult puzzle, and you just feel so relieved in the end...

If you seek some action, some romance, some comedy, some teary and plot twisted story... well, this is the right book.

This is my 1st yaoi novel that I read!!!!Came here coz of the buzz of the popularity of the novel. Tried watching the drama and reading the manhwa which I thought were boring.

One of my favorite BL novels, under the author MXT. This is a tale with a mix of fantasy, martial arts, cultivation, slow burn romance between two people with total opposite personalities. Tbh, I only read the scanlation comic (manhua?) And just part of it. Decided to watch the web series which I appreciated a lot. Though it lacks the bl ness of the story, it's still so good ah. I really enjoyed this novel a lot. I finished reading it in a few days. It kept me very intrigued, I could not stop reading it. The plot, character development, humor, and romance was great! Definitely going to reread. It is also my first BL novel that I have read!

Why I love this novel is that the world building is so well done that it fully allows readers immerse in novel. The level of details that the author puts in to his/her characters is amazing too. I can understand each character strengths, weakness, and motives really well but the end. And the relationship between WWX and LWJ is so adorable.

I liked it, it being my first BL and all I found it was cute and nice but my problems with stopping it being amazing is this. The names screwed me up alot for like 80 chapters I still got confused on who is who, I found the cultivation confusing, and not really interesting probably not meant to be but still. Finally the jumping between timelines was a bit confusing for the whole series for me.

I honestly don’t understand all the spectacular ratings for this book. There are moments when it shines, but many parts of the story are confusing. It seems like 2/3 of the story is flashback which isn’t bad in and of itself, but when you are in a major battle scene and the flashback occurs taking multiple chapters to conclude, then it gets monotonous. There were even flashbacks inside flashbacks... Also the names were super confusing since they were all so similar and everyone having multiple names. Then they just started... more>> throwing in characters later in the story as antagonists. The love was sweet but trying to read this novel was a big pain. There are other bl novels with a much better paced storyline. <<less

I put 3 star because of its long flashback. I just can't. Then the manga came and with pictures for characters, I could understand it more. But I wasn't still ready to reread it. TV show came but I didn't want my private fantasy to touch reality. But I saw the special edition of the movie and I couldn't stop myself from watching it all in 2 days w/o any sleep. Now I was ready.

Finish reading it and I can honestly say...I really like it. I love the 3d characters.... more>> Even if the story has touching, epiphany moments that should be included in the untamed. It could go both way so I'm quite satisfied.

It was the first danmei novel I read and I'm writing this as I just finished reading it AGAIN!!

I met it through the drama, which was really good despite the censorship, and I didn't think the story could get any better than the one portraid in the small screen but IT AMAZED ME! Really good world building, when they say the MC actually becomes the "evil" scapegoat for the elites they mean it, not just misunderstood-goodie-goodie-is-good, the transmigration is swift and well explained, you love and hate all the... more>> characters and the whole plot is catching and suprizing and actually develops to a plausible but unexpected ending.

Differently from the drama, the bromance is a real couple and MXY is gay and actually an evil madman.

In the end, it makes you want a prologue with the sweet slice of life happily ever after of the main couple!

I am so happy I read this book. WWX is a very shameless MC, I like his attitude and shamelessness though. ML is the calm silent type who is hopelessly in love with the MC, which I like. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ This book is very complex with the emotions and the characters background, but it's soooo addicting to read

The extras are very good to read and laid back. The translation is done well and I happy I read this book.

Even though I don't like the ending with the antagonist, I would say that this is the 2nd best story I read so far.

the drama "The untamed" was good casting but to the regulations, they will be no more romantic scene as novel.

And the manga/manwha have lovely drawing "Mo dao su zhi"

I recommend read the novel before venturing to the drama and manwha
