The Exhausting Reality of Novel Transmigration

I’ve had enough of being transmigrated into books.

You would be tired of it too, especially if it was already your fourth time doing it. This time, I became the female lead’s villainous older sister.

‘Oh, I’m so sick of this.’

Yet again, I was sure this life wouldn’t be exciting either. I had led straightforward lives before, and then I died and moved on to the next.

But why was it that this iteration was a tad different?

‘Why can I use the abilities I had in my second transmigration?’

‘Why is the female lead bothering me so much?’

Alicia, this novel’s protagonist, was fated to have a poor, emaciated life. However, considering that she was this novel’s true heroine, I couldn’t just let her roll through the mud like this. I would do everything in my power to change her fate.

‘My younger sister, don’t become the female lead this time.’

To achieve my goal through a project hereby dubbed as the [Mob-Alicia Project], I’ve recruited the male lead’s older brother.

Cassion Carter.

He was the villain who was almost killed—no, was fated to be killed—by the male lead.

“If you want to live, promise me one thing.”

As if he was a wild beast that had been hunted and left to die alone, he breathed with incredible difficulty. I reached toward the poor man’s face and caressed his cheek, leaning down to whisper softly.

“If I save you…”

Lay down your own life on the line to protect my sister.

It's an enjoyable read. The characters don't particularly stick out to me nor do I feel very attach to them like I do for some other novels. I did really like some stuff though.

  • Like women supporting women
  • Developed characters, even the villains
  • How delicately it handled issues like body dysmorphia, etc
  • The overall story - it flows properly, there isn't weird plot holes or stuff that's too forced
What I wish could've been done better

  • Some parts were like information dump
  • The MC is can be quite inconsistent. She is supposed to be a broken but indifferent kind of character, quite girl boss, but sometimes she just straight up bawls or is way too dramatic.
  • The ML is just there. He is a green flag though!

It was a nice ride.

Really shows the harsh reality of novel transmigration that's usually brushed away by other novels like how sensitively relationships are tied to each other and that any minor change in personalities are not so easily forgotten or unnoticed by people close to the body the lead usually possesses

What mother wouldn't notice if her child started acting strangely and which brother would suddenly accept if the sister they were close to suddenly started acting differently? Having to act in a way to not cause unnecessary pain to... more>> the original body's relationships and showing the desperation and how she has to walk a tightrope in navigating the original body's personal relationships really highlights how humanely the author wanted to showcase the main character.

Body dysmorphia as a result of transmigrating multiple times and the effect it has on the psyche was portrayed wonderfully, and honestly the harsh truth hits so close to home.

This work isn't by far the greatest to ever be made but it's not bad either. The title is as it shows, the story goes on about how a person broken multiple times tries to walk back up after escaping and it really shows how much the author cares about the validity of the story by making sound choices in how the character would act. Give it a read and review the story for yourself after <<less

I've enjoyed it. I feel like the MC and ML really fit each other. The story is mostly focused on a silent duel between the MC and the villian, each manipulating the situation to find an opportunity to attack. It's interesting and a little unique.
