I enjoyed it, I always think its interesting when authors mix different genres together. Sadly, it was poorly executed in here. There were many plot points that author could have expanded on to make the story more exciting. But instead each chapter was meandering like a slice of life anime. All the action/interesting things are simply implied. Don't get me wrong I like a sweet slice of life romance but I'm just feeling a little disappointed since I feel like author could have done more, considering they used different genres/tropes... more>> together.

Translation - 5 ExR always delivers good translations imo

Overall, I enjoyed it but I don't recommend you going into reading this expecting a lot excitement. It's quite "boring" but I like the main characters and their interactions with their families. It is very wholesome, especially with the niece & nephew, they are so cute. <<less

I admire the author's ambition but the execution was just bad because of just how little time they gave themselves to establish, flesh out and structure their plans for the story. This also feels like four stories crushed into one: post-apocalyptic, transmigration slice-of-life, political intrigue, and a smidge of pointless science fiction/high fantasy which supposedly rationalizes all of it. The purposes of certain plot points and even entire characters was lost on me throughout the story. The stakes felt very minimal and there was almost no tension because by the... more>> time certain issues were being officially addressed they'd already been mostly resolved. The villains are pretty much nonexistent and the end conflict with them doesn't even end onscreen.

Also, why make any of the male characters able to become pregnant if none of them ever will be throughout the main plot? You could have just written a regular BL set in a society that was cool with gay marriage and the story would have been completely unchanged.

I'm going to speculate that the author really wanted to try to build this super complex, compelling, heart-breaking plot, but their ability as a writer just wasn't up to the task of making anything more than fluff. <<less

E.g., it was hinted that the Su Qingran should have more golden fingers besides the one that was stolen by Zero One. Never saw her have a single golden finger. Besides her first appearance when she acted shady abt ML and was chased away by MC and ML’s brother, the next time she appeared she was apprehended by ML’s cousin for colluding with enemies. Truthfully, MC’s inner demons were a better antagonist than the actual antagonist.

Also, the novel should have ended when MC and ML got married the first time if only MC trusted ML enough to share his backstory. There was a lot of unnecessary tension because of MC’s abandonment issues.

Overall, managed to finish the novel but would not read it again. Also the translation had at least 1 error per chapter on average but that shouldn’t affect the reading clarity. <<less

Very good read. I liked all the characters a lot. There might be. A few things I wish were expounded upon more, or somethings I wish had happened but those are just minimal. Overall very good read and didnt take too long either. The character are enjoyable and the plot was interesting. The cp was good and wasnt weirdly possessive like is common with many ml's. Might have felt a little slow in some parts and got a little boring, but I was quickly pulled back in by reading another... more>> chapter or so. <<less

i made an account just to leave a review here. Please don’t be warn off by the low rating. This story is honestly a good read and despite everything the plot is not that bad. I love intimacy after marriage and in this story MC and ML relationship is so cute. It’s worth a read.

why are so many of the characters reborn at various points? There is a system but the system is not attached to the MC? Amnesia all over the place, golden fingers galore! I was honestly pretty concerned for the characters at some points!

But ultimately it works out for the best for everyone, the ML helps the MC heal his body's long illness and the origin of the family's secrets are revealed!

I definitely think it's worth reading at least twice. That's how many times I have read it so far lol <<less

I really like this novel. It has a lot of connected plots that come together in a way that satisfies me. It's one of the novels that I love to reread. The angst breaks my heart, but the healing always makes me feel happy.

Not as light-hearted as the descriptions suggest. MC is a deeply scarred man, afraid to even sleep at all, with severe trust issues and burdened with heavy guilt. Only with ML he can sleep peacefully. A good thing that MC meet ML early in the story. The author hardly explain anything and leave most to reader imagination. I feel like I'm reading a summary rather than a full story. You can't speed read or skim this one or it'll get too confusing.

If you are looking for pure slice of life novel flow with family vibe and good family relationship, then this one is for you.

The story is about MC life in his 3rd life. The Retirement life is for MC living peaceful normal day to day life with his family and hubby after having tragic and hardship in his both previous life. Thanks to ML he didn't have to deal with anyone and could have normal life with Happy ending.

There's also additional plot related to interstellar and I know most people doesn't have good opinion about it but for me, I love the concept toh plus it didn't affected the main story much. I love this kind of things (additional plots). For me the way additional plot are executed and mix smoothly with the story matter a lot and it was not done that badly in here. It was ok I guess. love the story behind zero one mission and it was going ok with the plot. Zero one also got partner, our Emperor and I do ship them but thing changed when they decided to create sub system and send it back to the end of the world.

I know that was the real purpose of the system but If the sub system were to be really send back to the end of world then all this would be turn into an illusion toh.

I don't at what time period the sub system would reach in there and if he would be able to save MC and his brother before they turn into zombie or not but since the system was send there for their help and although we don't know it's power, he would have many facilities to do or save those brothers. Even if he wasn't able to save them all, he would atleast be able to save MC or would save MC since it's his main task. Then if MC didn't have died tragically, he wouldn't have transmitted. If he didn't transmitted, he wouldn't have met ML and had such peaceful life and love with him. Maybe just like his 2nd life, all this would be forgetten or removed from his memory as his soul would be pulled back if the system went to save MC back in time in 1st life. This would have been so f*cking sad. What was author planning?? Or did the author never thought about it deeply and just made it go to create happy atmosphere for zero one and MC. I can't stop myself from thinking.

Thankfully, this is a slice of life novel and things were ignored (not saying that author should have ignored it but it's better to ignore this).

The romance between our main cp is so sweet and harmonious, especially the starting of their romance. Even if my teeth decay or fall because of that sweetness I wouldn't mind or regret it ever︎︎（◜𖥦◝ ）.

I really liked ML shy character in first half. It was so cute. As for MC except for feeling pity for his tragic lives, there's nothing much there for me say😅😅....... except

The best thing about this novel, other than MC and ML relationship is MC family relationship. Its wholesome and bring warmth to the story. Though his past or real family relationship makes us emotional for their tragedy.

Since this is a slice of life novel (too much of slice of life) , author didn't covered heavy event and some event that people mostly enjoy appeared or happened in background. For some this may look like rushed or poor written but in slice of life story this kind of things happens, though I do feel some parts are poor written and executed.

This is now my first ancient novel with pure slice of life flow, I have read so far and although I love this novel as pure slice of life with unique additional plot, I really wish it wasn't too much slice of life novel. It would have been so good and interesting with little bit of drama like other slice of life bl.

Like seriously I wanted to see good face slapping moment and how our MC deal with that transmigration women but shit, this wasn't there.

I also wanted to see a proper detail story on MC 2nd life (1st life in ancient time). The extra was not enough. I wanted to see how MC killed that b*tch.

Fortunately, I read the reviews so I wasn't surprised when some out-of-place things appeared. I agree that it's better if the author don't just randomly mix genre/trope, but they are somewhat minor and don't really affect the story.

This story isn't bad, really. Not great, but good enough. It can be considered a documentary of Lin Mo's life somewhat peacefully, since he's not involved in the court intrigue and revenge plots like the usual transmigration stories. There is no build up and climax of conflict. The author should have stuck to... more>> the early chapters atmosphere of peacefully and slowly building a life and make this a novel fool of dog food. <<less

Mls personality changes make sense, but MCs starts being all calm-trauma-child, ends up being histerical-post-trauma-child, there is no growth to him, also it was very confusing to know who knows what and how they know what they know.

Very confusing, there is a bunch of points unsolved, the Bad Gus gone like smoke, but it's fluffy, short and it's worth reading just for the ML.

This novel is a cluttered yet sweet read. It seems as if the author had too many ideas and just decided to shove them all in one novel (cultivation, gets, rebirth, ai), but it is a really sweet and fluffy read for those tired of the typical drama filled novels. The relationship between the MC and ML is sweet, but it feels kind of shallow. I just wanted to read a good slice of life romance but the introduction of transmigration, rebirth, cultivation, apocalypse left a bad taste in my mouth. It should have simply focused on a few and not all. It's a bad smoothie.

Rating: 3.5/5- I have mixed feelings about this novel, but it was enjoyable and logical.

Overall, the story was relatively simple to follow, however I felt rather underwhelmed when the story ended. I think the title of the novel, very much explains this plot, which is pretty much what one looks forward to after an arduous and tiring journey of working life.

I wasn’t too much of a fan of the weakly portrayed MC, it’s easier to like this type of character in comics, but I’m not such a fan in novels.

The... more>> highlight of the story for me, was the family bonds and strong descriptions of brotherly love and familial love. The MC and ML had a very sweet relationship, it just felt a little unnatural to me at times... perhaps because the MC always kept his deepest vulnerabilities to himself.

I think it’s an easy to read story but you can expect to lose interest now and then. There are many points left unsaid by the author and a lot is left to your imagination. <<less

Not really what I was expecting, I fell in love with the MC and ML during the first part of the story but then the story went off the rails with a bunch of different plots mixed in. It felt like the author was trying to introduce multiple protagonists into the story rather than adding side characters, their importance was hyped up but in the end they're side characters so it felt like everything was half-assed because of this.

I would have greatly preferred a story of the ML and MC... more>> where they just live out their simple farm life, they're a cute couple and I wish I could have read their story and not every other character's story... This had great potential but I really can't see what the author was trying to accomplish. The MC even lost his goals and ambitions after the plot went off the rails and all "obstacles" in the story were instantly solved by some kind of deus ex machina. I no longer cared for who the MC became, he wasn't interesting at all and was just kind of there for the sake of being there. Pity. <<less

The MC is a transmigrator, his elder brother was reborn, the ML is a high ranked person with amnesia, there is another transmigrator, and a time-traveling AI.

There is also ger/mpreg dynamics, an ancient era setting, a zombie apocalypse setting, an interstellar era setting, multiple lives, a secret magic space, cultivation, a system, and a dragon.

All in 70 chapters!

So in some ways it's a hodge podge of genres and character cliches. Because there is so much going on, there is a lot that never really gets explored to its full potential.

Some of the characters blend together and seem a bit one dimensional. I'm not saying every story needs a huge cast of detailed side characters, but if there are going to be named characters who have multiple interactions with the MC and a decent amount of screen time, those interactions should be a bit less repetitive. For example:

Children in this story have no distinct personalities. The MC has younger nieces/nephews/siblings and literally ever single interaction is them offering the MC food, or them requesting the MC give them food, usually sweets. Children have more personality than that. And if you don't want to write distinct personalities for child characters, don't give them so many scenes!! Sugar and tanghulu have been mentioned so many times they don't even look like words anymore...

However, for all I seem to be complaining, I didn't hate it or anything. "Retirement Life" is a suitable name, as there is little conflict.

In some ways it feels like one very long epilogue.

This could have been a very elaborate story, but instead ended up being a simple story with elaborate packaging. I don't think that makes it bad, but it definitely could have been more. However, if you go into this story knowing that at it's heart it's really just a short, fluffy, slice-of-life fantasy BL, you will find it enjoyable. Bonus points for good translation and being complete. <<less

Hmmm how to say. It was a nice read, very relaxing very slice of life-ish. Read it all through without the slightest change in my expression though. Not something I'd reread, also not really something so amazing it would be in my mind for a oo g time but, Still good.

I love MC and Ml's love, no matter how abrupt it was. It was cute.

At the same time, it feels as though author tried to mash up all the typical themes /apocalypse, interstellar, transmigration, space, rebirth, cultivation/ in one short... more>> novel. It fell short though as they were only mentioned in passing. It would be nice if it was a longer story, but in a short story where it was only mentioned one time, it felt rather, unnecessary.
