Contrary to typical regression novels, the MC of this one is not the one regressing (not spoiler since it's revealed in the first few chapters).

The MC is not talented at all in fact, he's probably weaker than the average human (in the beginning). But his understanding of how society works and how humans think allowed him to survive.

Been really enjoyable thus far. What makes this novel really interesting is that MC is a complete weakling, yet he manages to rise along to the top with his cunning and acting skills. More importantly, this is all done in an intelligent way, whereas a lot of novels suffer from the author being less smart than the character they want to portray as so.

Yet, he is not extreme, like being borderline sadistic, wrathful, greedy, etc, so as long as you're not put off by his complete lack of morality, you are still wishing for him to survive.

However, this is certainly not for those looking for a more action based story. Sometimes the political maneuvering is so intense and long lived (like in the travel to the capital arc) that I start to wonder when will the plot move forward.

On the bad side, some developments have been a bit lacking.

Struggle to read due to being unable to tell who is saying what, and it's really frustrating having to guess. Not sure if the nuances that help determine who is talking were lost in translation, but this is almost unreadable the way it is.

Lee Kiyoung is the one who made me have a super high standard for an antihero protagonist trope. He is the kind of person who will use all kinds of dirty tricks to achieve his perfect ends. The world sees him as a saint-like person, but inside he is more wicked than named demon lords.

As I reach the 600 chapters, we still don't know who is Lee Kiyoung and what kind of life he lives before he got summoned to the current world. Well, there was a glimpse of his past life here and there, but it was like Kiyoung himself always brushing it off and already cutting ties with all it.

It was interesting yet unusual because when they mentioned previous life, that was referred to as the 'first timeline', not the 'previous world' before they got summoned into this current world. <<less

of course, I didnt come here for the harem but for the bromance instead so I turned a blind eye towards the harem and it worked 😹😹. Which led me to binge read all 800 chapters of them in 20 days.

The mc:
He is sly, smart and manipulative.
He is also shameless when it comes to triggering his enemies. He likes to act as the victim whenever he needs to xD
And there goes his trio loyal dogs protecting him ☠
And yes, hes... very smart.
Even the readers got speechless by how smart he can be.
Even everyone thinks hes kind and sociable lol hes that good in acting.

Harem:
The girls in here is not annoying.
Theyre tolerable.
Theyre not tsundere.
Theyre more to yandere I guess ahahahha.
And no, the girls dont just appear and started to like him for no reason as if they never met males. Its because of mc's passive skill [attracting dangerous opposite sex] if im not mistaken.
Anyways, so far I dont get annoyed by the girls since each of them have their own reason to appear. They dont rely on MC, and they dont appear much, theyre like side dishes that appear when needed.
Some of them just really loved him. they would even flip the world, or show their soft side when something happens to him. But of course, hayan is the most important I guess ahahaha.

Hyunsung:
Yes he is the main reason I started this story.
Hes handsome. dot.
Jk, I see him as victorious and the symbol of justice. He acts like a hero, saving people whenever he can. Hes that type of character.
Yet see how he befriends kiyoung, the MC and got tainted lmao.
Since hes a regressor, hes very strong even among humans.
Thats why MC chose to stick close to him, since hes the type that would grab any chance of surviving no matter the cost.
He is awkward in communicating, so he always tense around strangers. But he always relaxed himself when hes around kiyoung. Hes soft for kiyoung onleh 💕
And also yes im in for the ship ahagaga can you believe the author forgot about the harem and focus on hyunsung and kiyoung only? Ahahahaha it was nice, those females (demons and humans) who ship them ☠😹😹😹
Bonus: hes always the first one to step up to save MC whenever hes in trouble. (Which of course, was just another plan of him that ended up traumatizing hyunsung more and more)

Comedy:
As MC enjoys backstabbing his enemies, its fun to watch in his pov, the way he laughed satisfyingly when all goes according his plans.
And also whenever theres tragic scene or heavy to breath moment, we cant feel it. Cuz, why would you when the narrator is simping or giving funny comments ? ☠ /jk
And, hes the masterplan for those troubles that he created. Everyone would be tense and thinking on how to defeat the enemy (that he secretly created) yet he would take it easy but act as if hes the one with the hardest job ever lmao🤣😭
This is why we just love it when his plan got backfired by his own party member that did that unconsciously. He cant even get mad at them 😭🤣🤣🤣

It's an alright novel.

Well the overall plot is great, but I just didn't like how the author made MC weak from beginning till the end. I mean I get that he is talent less, but I had some faith after the author introduced alchemy class, but nah he is still weak as f, who still relies on his friends and his strategy to get fame. Well it's good for people who don't like strong MC. For me it's just a no go. I like strong MC with no politics lol.

It is a good novel, really. Except the s*upid harem ruined it like how it did to other several good stories. Even now I can't understand why male authors love writing s*upid harem novel when none of them obviously know how to write MCs that can handle it.

The MC is tr*sh but he has a brain (which he at least uses to solve political stuff or do scamming), cool.
The main harem member is tr*sh but has no brain, definitely not cool.

Top tier novel, I've read many novels on this site from CN cultivation, KR returner, to JP isekai, and yet this one holds a special place in my heart. The premise is interesting, the characters are well-developed, and the writing is just... wow. Definitely recommend this 10/10 must-read masterpiece.

Anyway, it is a good novel for those who wanted the MC is weak and manipulative. He is not your guy who becomes powerful in a short amount of time.

There is also the MC's love interests. The dragon, Dialugia had the less screen time with the saint of the forsaken (forgot her name), whereas Jung Hayan (I think?) which never improve much in personality and honestly another troublemaker got a lot of screentime. Also Yuno Kasugano got a less screentime.... I think most of the love interests have less screen time except Jung Hayan at the moment.

The novel doesn't do much to explore the other characters, we don't get deep view of what were they thinking and of how they have improved. While they have their own distinctive personality, it is not enough to make me care much of them.

Actually this novel is good and I enjoy it although I got bored at the early chapter. MC is even worse than the antagonist tbh. Safe from the beta part that if the author makes the MC have s*x or avoid being dense the story ends, the novel is incredibly amazing.

We have a rather intelligent MC (except for romance, of course), but in proper ways. No b*s regressor hack or super-secret advantage or SUPER strategist that knows how to read a map. The MC is weak but can fight (steal exp :v), is a son of b*tch but still cares for his companions (emotionally and strategically, of course, because he is a bastard).

In this novel instead of plot, characters shine. Really, one of the best written (web) novels I've read till now probably solely thanks to how great people are written, they feel human you know. Really good novel imo

If I read the synopsis, and say A, B and C happen, it would sound funny, but if you flesh out the details you realise how messed up the situations become for A to happen, and then how that leads into B, and how that leads to the messed up but rational follow up of C happening.

His cunning schemes, amoral thoughts, calculating decionmaking, combined with the intrguing backstory... You can't help but wonder what it would be like reading from another character's perspective.
