Mu Xiaoya lived for twenty-six years before she knew that she had a sudden genetic disease. There was no medicine for it, and there was only death waiting for her.

Before she died, many people came to see her, but she was most impressed by Bai Chuan.

Bai Chuan was her neighbor, an autistic child with scholar’s syndrome. At that time, his face full of scars was desperate: “I – I studied all your medical records, but I have no way to save you.”

Mu Xiaoya was stunned: “You are a doctor?”

Bai Chuan: “I am not… …”

Mu Xiaoya’s disease was a genetic disease. Unless the gene was changed, there was no possibility of cure. However, Bai Chuan was the only person who tried to cure her after she fell ill.

Mu Xiaoya: “Why are you going to cure me?”

Bai Chuan: “I want to marry you.”

Mu Xiaoya laughed: “If you marry me, you will soon become a widower.”

Bai Chuan insisted: “I – I want to marry you.”

Bai Chuan, who has cognitive impairments, can’t express his meaning very well, and can only repeat it over and over again.

Later, Mu Xiaoya still died. When she woke up, she returned to the summer of her college graduation.

Bai Chuan: “I… I want to marry you.”

Mu Xiaoya: “Good.”

The starlight in the eyes of Bai Chuan was the most beautiful scenery that Mu Xiaoya had ever seen in her life.

This is a great novel that is mostly fluff although there are a few angsty portions. The love between the leads are so beautiful. The FL is the window and light in the ML's closed off world. I love seeing how the FL went from just appreciation of the ML to genuinely loving him. I like that the author shows a little of how difficult it can be being a caretaker to an autistic individual. I also like the portrayal of living your life well even though the future seems... more>> bleak. All in all this was a great read, I loved this couple so much. The elder brother of the ML is the real MVP. I absolutely fell in love with him. Brother of the year. I think he was always some what influential in moving the plot and couple forward. The translators did an amazing job. Their comments were helpful and hilarious in some cases.

Definitely read this. If you have not already, go check out other Grumpy crab's (the author) on NU. <<less

One of the best romantic story, I can feel the author fill the characters as human as possible with good nature. I want more this kind of characters building and story in giving me inspirations to become better human.

This story tell me appreciated what we have and we may want to do something good but of course there will be hardship along the way.

WORTH TO READ...

This is really a gem. The characters are all likeable. Xiaoya is such a strong person. And Bai chuan is precious and must be protected at all cost. Their family and friends are great. And the story is really heartwarming. It really heals you. Totally recommended.

I have to honestly say that this novel was truly a gem.. It was very well presented in a way that brings both heartwarming joy and a tinge of heartbreak feelings to the readers. The author had obviously done his/her research or even perhaps from their own experiences in presenting a realistic view of what mental disabilities entails through the interaction of the MC and the ml. At times you may be happy, at peace and motivated to guide your loved one to slowly lead them on a journey to... more>> heal their mental incapability yet other times you would feel discouraged, frustrated even wanting to give up.. The author had done an excellent job in presenting the variety of emotions that manifests in characters whether it's the MC or families.

Really didn't expect this novel to be such a magnificent piece of work - well recommended (๑•̀ㅂ•́) و✧ <<less
