Ironic that the novel has characters taking moral high grounds and talking about staying your creative works should stay true to themselves while this actual novel caters too much to us, the audience.
The 'hardships' (cannon fodder face slaps) are just there for the sake of being there, and the same for the romance. 'Villains', if you can even call them that, come and go. All that makes them stand apart are their names.
The romance feels forced. The ML is constantly prowling around MC, lurking in the 'bushes' waiting or a chance to pounce. It did convey from time to time his care for his crush but the way how ML often looks at him feels way too predatory.
I don't like how ML plays too many mind games instead of straight-up asking if he's interested in a same-s*x relationship and what he'd think of him. But no, he draws up circles and circles to entrap MC making sure he's accustomed to the physical intimacy and invasion of privacy.
And I don't even want to get started on talking about how crazy quick ML was ready to simp for MC, throwing money and work opportunities his way only 20 chapters or less in.
All characters lack a strong sense of realism. They're focused on being perfect in every way, which paints them as a puzzle with the right image but unfitting pieces. The side casts are all allies, the cannon fodders are copy&paste, the ML is the typical novel ML in every sense, and MC is written to be objectively as acceptable as possible, making him feel foreign instead.
The scripts that MC acts in are far from bad, but the crazy spotlight focus also permeated through that, so even when the antagonists and side characters MC was featured as well thought out, protagonists were clearly left in the dust.
The process of filmmaking is unrealistic and despite pointing out that scenes are not filmed according to sequence, that's how it's been the majority of the time. The scenes go too well according to plan when realistically, even when the main actors do well, background characters might mess up, other elements might fail etc. But it didn't happen apart from MC filming with ogMC to make MC look better and overwhelm ogMC even though he's not a character to be cannon foddered.
The probability, later on, casting mainland Chinese actors for a Hollywood blockbuster is also ridiculous. They'd only consider American-born Chinese (ABCs) /Asians.
Can't let water flow into other people's fields is a saying that the novel itself, again, has brought up before.
The movie itself and the procedure of how it was produced screamed like a s*xual harassment lawsuit.
But make that make sense: a multiple-award-winning actor with 20 years of experience cannot act in love with someone.

The lack of focus and self-awareness is painful to watch.
The novel is being served up on a platter and I didn't like it. I wouldn't mind if some aspects were this way but instead, it was the entire budget meal course that's plated in gold.
All tell, no show. Enjoyable only when you empty out all thoughts and go no-brain mode.
