People, this is JUST SO WORTH IT!!!!!!

Not only does this cute couple have amazing synergy, the plot too is explosive and isn't necessarily draggy at all!!!

The narrative style is especially attractive, most intense emotional depths are reflected in fragmented imagery... the effect is thus amplified.

I simply loved how the story speaks of a love that transcends boundaries and overcomes each variable it is put into test with. Don't know if me saying this counts as a spoiler, but... to me the story seems to say: you can take away my... more>> memories, control my every breath or move, but you can never touch that deepest part within me; my core, my feelings for him and our love that refuses to back down. Awesome!! Its been a long time since I read such an invigorating and wonderful novel. It has a bit of everything and blends different aspects really well. Most importantly there is logic behind everything and you get an explanation.

Translator did a wonderful job with this one. Character growth is good. There are many characters involved but it doesn't confuse you instead it makes you believe it and gives a sense of reality... well as much reality as a fictional piece can have. You know that everyone is important and people... more>> are not just cannon fodders or fillers. It doesn't get boring and while the romance is slow, its quite believable.

MC and ML might be typical OP characters but their emotions make them real. MC has a tragic childhood and ML was not much better. But they come together and resolve everything. And despite everything, they are not cold blooded while still being practical.

What I really liked about it is that it showed that while people are in all kinds of dangerous life and death situations, they still more or less retain their humanity. Which is quite different from most of the novels where side characters are constantly being treated as cannon fodders and people are shown as inhuman because of their circumstances.

Its really worth giving a read!!I might even be reading it once again after some time;) <<less

Finished this a long time ago. MC is likeable and not s*upidly op. The novel is also a fresh take on horror QT. I would definitely read this again if I have the time to do so.

P.s. The ML in the manhua is freakin hawt

Global University Entrance Examination Review

•Plot

This is a story about the system that military made to screen the potential of the upcoming army or in the military. But, the sytem gone awry and it because of some manipulation of the 'people inside' |you know what I mean if you read the story|. The examinees enter the examination centre and should solve the question and answer the question within the given time or deadline. The wrong answer they give will lead them to death. This is a horror/ school exam /... more>> system. The exam may lead you to think out of the box. The protagonist and ML is OP, but it has the reason why they are OP and they used it to solve the exam /about some great strength/ duh! They are from military so this is their gold finger. They are not like other characters in other stories that can solve it through pure luck and golden thigh.

Amd the way they solve this exam is through force HAHAHAHHAA Lmao, even they were wrong they just accept the rules and punishment. I don't know why other reviews for this is so low, dunno they should not finish the exam and just f*ck the review for this. I'm a pure reader, the crazy one to be exact. I think now most of reader just enjoy some cliche stories if they can't read the lines and analyze it. 🤧🤭

This is realistic, and the way they answer is by using their brain and be witty to find loopholes. Observe them more and you can conclude that but if your not then it's not the story problem it is the problem of your comprehension.

•Character

This is like a wide range world. There's so many outstanding character and you can notice them when you read this. They act like they had some BRAINS and act like a people in reality not some kind of sparklingly words that the author describes them just to characterized and be the background of some protagonist. The protagonist is cold and indifferent because of some reason, and the ML is a kind of guy that is lazy, agressive and mad to the extreme. He is not some golden thigh that can solve everything and it is more attractive to the booth because they are more realistic. Both of them hold some madness into their bones. And also the special characters in the story the buzzcut head man/thief and the tattoo man who broke down that they encounter while dealing in mirror humans and that time they realize that they are also a group of mirror humans this guy even if is gangsta he said that even that they beat him but they did not kill him and also he said that the group of Yu Huo and 001 is kind and solving the exam quicker. The Pregnant Woman/Bug/Shu Xue, the Yan Shu& Wu Li who is both researcher and doctor, Yu Huo cousin and Uncle, Yu Wen and Old Yu. Yu Wen who is a study slag but with his brain hole can solve the problems sometimes and in a funny way. Du Li who is a study god and a top student who use his mouth and brain to survive and bot rely on luck. The invigilator 078, 021, 1006, Old Zao, 922, and 154. The 078, 021, 154 and 922 is under 001 (Qin Jiu). 154 who is a garbage program/system who is humane. 922 who is clumsy and sloppy forget who he is but he's part of death squad realated to technology and information. And many more...... But I love them allll especially zhao wentu and the couple in the duke mansion.

•Ending

UWU I ship 992 (tech geek Wen Yuan) to 154 huhh!! I wish them to be together!!! I hope there's a fanwai but there's not😢. I'm not satisfied to the ending I want meattt!!🤤🥩🍽️ <<less

This was an amazing read for me.
the translator did a great job with it.

the characters were interesting and alive. I loved the main couple and the story was at times hilarious, exciting, suspencefull and a little sad.

I would gladly recommend this to anyone looking for a BL to read.

I read it half-way and completely forget that I haven't finished it yet. So I went to finish it and it felt so boring. The whole thing about system were too complex yet was not explained in a proper way. It's not bad but t's nowhere near novels like The Earth is Online.

This was beautiful to read. It is unique for me? I liked the plot, and the romance. I love how You huo is the uke HAHAHAH I love how playful Qin jiu is, and I felt so sad with their experience and that made me so much happier when they finally remembered everything, like even after everything, they still find each other. The horror parts actually kinda scared me cause I was reading it at midnight and had to run on the lamp cause I felt eerie hahaahaha, the examinations are also so different? Like I didn't feel any connection with the previous exams so it was kind of nice. And oh hahahah the Overly intimate relationship with examinee qin jiu hahahaa that was funny, but also sad cause of the punishment for our big inviligator. Their friends are also all cool, I really liked di li, and I missed yu wen when they separated, I'm glad no one really got hurt in their team, I love how I get to know the reactions of the inviligators specially 922, 154, 1006, and 021 hahahaah when they are always giving punishments. I also liked the attitude of you huo, he didn't change despite having a lover hahahaha still the cold Invigilator A. He's just real meant to be with qin jiu, no one can make him have those kind of feelings. Hmm, idk if I would reread this? Cause it was kind of confusing cause there are so many things happening esp, at the end. But I def loved it ❤❤❤ I also loved how they went back to the real world but I hoped it would be longer, , but I guess they only spent a short time as a team, and you huo and qin jiu are the only ones that spent most time with each other 💞

One of the best novels I've had the pleasure of reading. It's exposition shrouded in mystery, the examinations that pique your interest, the big-brained (and sorta funny) solutions that the MC and ML do in order to pass, the subtle angst that accompanies the banter between our two leads, and the worldbuilding behind the history of the system—GUEE is a truly great read.

It is GOOD!

As someome who has read several translated Chinese novels, I learnt that you can't judge them pure from the title and synopsis only. Total/average ratings and tags should be considered too. As for reviews, those help but they are subjective. And this novel is one which title and synopsis don't really reflect the story. I suggest you read the translator notes at the beginning of this novel to understand the content better.

Now, for the novel itself I really like the arcs. As for the main plot, it's okay.... more>> I love the arcs more than the main plot 'tho. And I don't know why some readers can't get through the first half of this novel... For me, that first half is the most interesting. I can't tell much about the arcs because it will ruin your experience reading this novel...

The main plot is foreshadowing first and flashback later. I don't really like flashback, but thank God that it is only one or two or even half chapter for each flashback, not half or even one whole book telling the flashback like the legendary Mo Dao Su Zhi and Heaven Official's Blessing (I still read those 'till the end 'tho... n_n" and both are amazing novels (except those long flashbacks... haha)).

As I said before, the main reason I like this book is not the main plot. It is the way to pass the exam (s) that I like. And btw, this is not a lovey-dovey/fluffy kind of book (there are some dog food. Don't worry :)). The arcs have some ghore elements and really interesting.

Man, I nearly forgot to review MC and ML. They are okay, OP, and fun. What I like from love story is the reason why a couple fall in love with each other. But here, MC and ML have mutual attraction that cannot be defined which lead them to become a couple. So, yeah, it's preference.

Ahh do you smell that? It's my favorite 'separated-then-reunited' tag with a dash of heavy amnesia.

I semi-came from plot, but my main hook had to be the aforementioned tag above. Because God knows how much I adore reading about two individuals filled to the brim with heart-maddening longing & passion. This novel not only served me a decent thought-out plot but also provided a heart-wrenching main CP.

Look, if you get confused in the beginning- IT'S OK. I was lost for a good 30-something chapters, believe me. The world building is... more>> lacking as opposed to other novels within this subgenre. However, the plot holes aren't glaringly obvious. You can get away with missing details here & there because the action as a whole drives the story. Yes, there's horror but honestly, as a person who actually abhors horror, it was fine. MC is apathetic to the events & if he's not shaken, like hell I would be. Our crack CP consists of two "over-powered" (though I hesitate to use this term since they failed more than once) individuals with a penchant for risk-taking & diabolical plotting. I'm a sucker for opposites-attract. MC is cool, icy, apathetic. ML is deranged & quite the spitfire. I enjoy the clash & it works well to serve as hot buildup to crazy tension. I'M DISAPPOINTED FOR THE LACK OF SMUT. However, the feelings between the CP were very obvious & I was reeled into their moments of passion.

TL;DR Sure there's plot, but the connection between the CP wins me over <<less

GUEE has to be one of the best novels I've read in the genre.I binge read the whole thing within 2 days.

The mystery is skilfully unravelled and the character interactions are entertaining. The concept of the system being an exam is both horrifying as I just finished exams (fck em) and SO satisfying as the system gets slapped in the face multiple times by our adorable MC & ML. (￣∀￣)

MC and ML makes a great dynamic that I haven't really read in BL novels and I LOVE IT! The angst. The comedy. The bickering. The PLOT! *chefs kiss*.

The side characters are also very loveable. They really make the novel come alive and pulls the plot together. I miss 922 and 154 already (Q-Q)

!There's also a manga! (raws)

HOWEVER it has some flaws. I think the character development for secondary/ minor characters could have been done better. There was a large amount of interesting characters and so few chapters, decreasing the development for all for so there seem more like NPC info banks or MC/ML's stepping stone rather than a real person. The end also seemed a bit rushed at however it did blend well with the atmosphere of the last arc.

Perhaps it's because it was a translation and some of the minute thing couldn't be expressed in English...

Overall, would read again! Would recommend!

At first I was confused because the conflict started right from the first chapter, but the more I read, the more hooked I am. The author didn't directly explain about the mysteries but mostly show it from the characters' flashback, so there weren't many info-dump narration. Although it made me a bit impatient, it also gave me satisfying feelings after they solved the mysteries.

The MC and ML has an up and down relationship, as their past was blurred on the first half of the novel. Although both of them didn't... more>> know about their past relationship, they still maintained their old habit and their way of speaking to each other. The side characters also has their own unique characteristics and their own importance on the plot. <<less

I'm glad I really read this. I love how our MC and ML are not the typical apathetic characters and only care for each other. There was still the domeenering amd indifferent trait but it was really reasonable and not just because they were the lead characters. The npcs and supporting characters are also well done. I love it. The world building was a bit lacking but the plot and storyline is all good. I also love the part where MC still has family ❤💕

For those who think the story... more>> made it look like MC and ML have it too easy, I would like to disagree because

I think it was explained that MC and ML have been fighting against system and they lost twice from system. It looked like they easily defeated system depicted in the chapters because heeeey they've been fighting for a long time already against system. And it seemed easy for them because they've been laying traps a long time ago. Wouldn't it contradict with MC and ML's OP traits instead if they have to struggle again like starting from scrap?

I saw exam and I shuddered. This was a good book, thankful for the translation!

Loved the plot, the mystery, the heightened suspense, the motley crew and the dynamic between all of them. In cases where there's a big crew, it's always a struggle to remember who's who but it wasn't much of one in this book. They all had their characteristic that stood out.

One criticism on the writing (very minor), but author tends to not make it too clear who is going where (as with the big crew of... more>> characters) especially if they are splitting up so when suddenly so and so speaks up, I'll go "oh, so she/he is there too" when I had thought that character had been left behind (or maybe I shouldn't have assumed so. Keh.)

Most of all, the romance is slow yet one of the best. It's just a feels train. Very satisfying.

Love the ending too, that small glimpse of everyone and that hopeful note.

I'm a big fan of survival/thriller novels and a bonus is that this novel has really similar vibes to "The Earth is Online" which happens to be my favourite novel. The translator KK also did an unparalleled job.

Beware that the beginning can be just a bit tedious to get through but it is so worth it, as the plot and character dynamics just get better as the novel progresses. The relationship between the MC and ML is really heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time (how is that possible???) once... more>> everything comes together towards the end of the novel. Side characters are done well and are interesting enough to stick with, gosh I love the 154, 922 duo.

After binging this novel in four days, there was this scene that really stuck with me

In ch 118 part 2 where You Huo recovers the scene in the ruins

"What he hated was the darkness endlessly engulfing and obscuring the figure in front of him."

and

"Under the panic that he had never experienced before, he heard the other person say: "I really love you."

HOW IS THIS SCENE DONE SO WELL?? Props to the author for writing such an amazing scene.

at first I really liked this novel and the whole world setup, the MC was really well-written and his relationship with ML really intrigued me because we could know they knew each other but somehow forgot each other. I have nothing to say about their relationship, it is really healthy you could see they balance each other well and I think it's the best in this type of novels.

however I got kind of bored as the exams went on? It was too easy for them even if we know they... more>> are the MC and ML but it made the whole system seem really low. It kind of cooled me in my reading because I could not get into it anymore since it was so simple for them.

Well.. Im not the type to write review on every novels i've read except its really worth it.
I like the whole story-line and it really explained why this system existed and how it was ended.
The most I like about this novel is the chemistry between two MCs.

i really love the way they are devoted to each other and the way they flirted whenever they want even if they are in critical moments lolll.. They dont say love words that much but the way they care for each other in every moment say everything

I haven't read enough to rate but I need to vent. So far, apart from MC and ML every other character is just so unbelievably s*upid. It's like they're surrounded by preschoolers. I don't know if this is an attempt to make them seem genius by comparison but it honestly hacks me off so much.

Additionally, so far the "answer" to the questions have been illogical and inexplicable.

For those who are planning to read, please do not drop the novel in Arc1. It doesn't even touch the surface of what the novel really about. I dropped this once because I thought oh no, not another system with tests I can't understand. BUT.

I picked it up a few days ago since the TL has been completed and OH WOW. WOW. I didn't throw this word around easily but the very essence of this novel is ROMANTIC. The twists and turns will keep you glued to the tl site.
