Every drop of this family bloodline is stained with sin. They are the embodiment of contradiction; calm yet maniacal, with great memories yet often forgetful. They pledge themselves to their dreams yet often compromise, are angels that are also devils… It’s why I hate them. And also love them.

The only hope of his family, a youth with the blood of elves and devils walks on a battleground of annihilation and rebirth. He wills his way through boiling lava and icy depths, killing on this field of despair to strike down the lofty figure in his sight. One day he’ll grasp his blade tightly and survey his surroundings, only to find no more enemies to kill.

A bit of a mess so far, the story has not stabilized as of yet so some people might find trouble understanding what is going on exactly. However, the world building is one of the most interesting and unique I have come across in anything I have read. The mess is not even purely a bad thing, but makes the novel a very interesting read. The novel will probably become more understandable in the future when more chapters are translated. To be honest I really hope it doesn't become any... more>> more messy though, since I will have to stop reading if I understand it even less. <<less

I really like the writing style and the story appears to be going in a good direction. The world building is great as well. I'll keep my rating at 5 stars for right now and update as the story progresses, but at this point I highly recommend it.

After reading significant Xianxia and Xuanhuan novels with chinese themes one does get tired of them after a while and needs a breath of fresh air. This novel brings exactly that for people looking to read something slightly different.

The story till now... well there is no overarching story till now. However, as with most such chinese LNs, it is more about MCs journey to becoming strong rather than anything else. I keep getting a feeling that author is definitely witholding some sort of overarching story till now and will... more>> surprise us in later chapters. Anyways, journey is interesting and should keep you interested for now.

Narration and Worldbuilding:

There are some kinks in world building and I feel that some times world building aspects do not come through easily and there might be disconnect between author and reader. For example: There is mention of Klandor and Norland. However, I still do not know if Klandor is part of Norland Plane or is it a different plane or is a continent which is part of Norland. It is confusing because author is very vague and misrepresents it in a way that it confuses the reader.

Fun Factor:

The main fun factor for me in this LN is that it has following aspects which I generally like:

  1. Army Building
  2. Conquest and Wars
  3. Personal Power ups (fast cultivation as otherwise I get bored quickly...I mean we are definitely not reading f**king LNs like these for their beautiful way of writing or story or character building rt? its about power ups and face smacking which is why we love CN LNs)
  4. Powerful followers/friends
  5. Some focus on other characters (here there indeed is some focus... atleast author has gone to some lengths to explain the character and develop them especially MCs followers and some important antagonists
I dont think it is the best novel out there but it definitely is worth a read. The translation speed is decent and translation quality is decent. I believe that the translator team at WW will see this novel through so its a safe bet to read this one. <<less

This is a good novel. I enjoyed reading it very much.

the only drawback is -->

The MC takes only about 10 years to transform from the weakest existence to strongest one. Which is a common problem with 99% of Chinese novels.

Note: I read lots if Chinese novels. This is the only one I could finish without dropping it in the middle.

My first impression in this novel is it's very very very confusing, the prologue drop my interest reading this novel, I thought that it would improve but instead it became worse. To many question left hanging about this and that. I don't about others but this novel is not for me. To much this and that I don't know where to start. It's like solving a mystery without knowing where to start.

The MC (although I am not sure if that was the MC) is like a puppet or a doll... more>> who was drag with this and that. At first I think their was an attempt to make a character out of the MC but I seriously fail to notice as I can only see a doll like MC who was describe as this and that but at the end of the day all his action can't be justified as his own. IT was like MC is doing this because this is what they want to do. The characters are very transparent I was like who this again? it's much worse that putting a tag with who's a boy and who's the girl.

MC meet his father side family all I know is the number if his brother and sister and not even I name was mention (or did I miss reading about it?) his father was like boom exaggerated character that introduce with a blast but slowly fade away. MC's mother was very transparent to the point that I ask my self, oh she died...

I love reading simple things and what I hate reading is complicated things with complicated stuff with an annoying and unnecessary mysterious mix in it. and other words I feel like flipping a table and shout out loud "To hell with this novel".

The author might think that the novel might be good to start with a blast, he was right the first thing I had in mind when I read the first chapter, I won't last reading this <<less

Story is not great, but decent... was rather immersive in the first volume (the prologue was honestly the best chapter) and reminded me heavily of coiling dragon in terms of medieval realism and character design (the author even copied the formula of the MC falling out of love and becoming more mature because of it). definitely not as good as work done by IET who is the master of immersive storytelling without romance. Right now at volume 2, the story has become rather disappointing. The main character, Richard, is extremely... more>> bland in personality and doesnt have any striking morals or purpose to his life. The author tried to mirror him after linley from coiling dragon but at least linley was a supreme badass who was plotting revenge against the church. Richard is actually pretty weak and can't go solo. Literally all he does is follow the future planned out for him by his father even though he doesn't like him (aka 0 independence). There's a harem unlike coiling dragon, but it's slow and pretty bad because women are treated like trash in the novel unless they're strong. The harem formula in xuanhuan like against the gods is much better. In volume 2, I wanted him to get some real friends and brothers like in TTNH, but all he got was some slave contracted under him. The whole idea of planar wars also makes him look like a d*ckhead. invading a plane, killing all those who resist and taking their resources. ex) A young teenager charges at him calling him demon and telling him to leave their plane. He has the teenager and father killed. Honestly, dude seems like the villain and the emotional aspect of this novel is severely lacking. I recommend that you read this novel, but without high expectations. This author is not known for writing great stories or protagonists. A novel that I highly recommend is the amber sword. now that is a truly well written story <<less

The only good point about this novel is the world-building.

The MC is someone who is supposedly very logical, but he sometimes does illogical and retarded things just to spite his father and his family. His personality is extremely inconsistent. At times cold and at times hot, with the only explanation being its his bloodline.

Yet another one of the potentially amazing novels ruined by main characters who only think with their D*cks (a.k.a Harem)...I read amazing harem novels with balance but this is not one of them. I usually don't care about the reviews but starting from this novel I learned a valuable lesson. if you are basically looking for dude with daddy issues who hates every male and consider them enemies while picking up only female companions along the way for literally every position, and want to live in dreamland where every female... more>> just sees the MC in a lustrous ways for the 100 time to cover for the reader IRL insecurities then pick this up. To be honest this should just be Tagged "Severe Harem" with nothing else tagged since it prevails over everything else. <<less

I liked the initial premise of the novel a lot. The idea of MC being in a higher world and then he can go and conquer lower worlds is also a very good plot point. Till now, it is also being used correctly. The side characters are around the MC for a period of time until now and they are also looking promising.

The only problem I have with the novel is the inconsistency in MC's character and personality. From the beginning to end, I am not able to understand his... more>> bottom line. <<less

The first volume is 5 star content right there, if I were to read only book one (the first 117 chapters) I would rate this novel five stars, no doubt about it.

The problem is the second book, that has double the chapters and is all filler with almost zero character development and completely zero plot development it was like the author said f**k it I am out of here let the interns write the rest.

I am confused why the translator even bothered translating it, nothing really happened just some inconsequential... more>> power ups, he could just summarize the whole book in a paragraph and move on with book 3 there is no plot development what so ever.

All in all this is a 5 star novel when there is actually a plot and a zero star trash at other times there is no middle ground. <<less

Vague, author tends to bring up points and never delve into them, decent read if you don't want your daily dose of a crippled young MC who got random enemies poppin out of every pore

This is a story about magical world. In it you will find information on the world, like cultures, cities, religions, magic, swordsmanship, and a lot more. This information can be from extreme describes of places to large amounts of magical theories of magic. Unfortunately author keeps bringing up someone named Richard. And he shows up a lot to get into the way of this atlas.

On more serious note. Story isn't half bad just over shadowed massively by world building and character descriptions. If you're like me and tolerate the massive... more>> info dumps of world and character "building" (where takes large paragraphs to describe any and every character or majority of chapter it is describing places or other semi relevant things). You will find yourself skipping majority of chapters and only skimming this story. Sadly it can get to point that anything that isn't directly related to plot starts to become irrelevant. Things that normally would seem relevant become irrelevant in this story and get skipped for more basic story but considering story is fairly good guess its worth it. Though story isn't that outstanding. <<less
