The novel is entertaining so far, however, the main problem is that there is a lack of character development of the other members of the group. Most of the secret rooms are mainly solved by the main and secondary couple and the rest of the teammates are only there just to gather information and use their cards

Not as bad as what some of the reviews said. I think it was quite interesting and I managed to finish 600+ chapters so it should kinda show that it isn't boring right? Not much on horror but more of crime and mystery? Loved the ending and extras though!! Super cute!

Spoiler

There was this review that mentioned that XiaoLou seemed a little ooc when he kept blushing like a little maiden but I think it was quite reasonable though? Afterall XiaoLou did not have any previous relationship and have not ever fell in love with anyone at all. So he's kind if like a newbie when it comes to love? That's why I think infront of someone he truly like, he will get shy and blush. I thought that aspect of him is quite cute though? Plus it's not as if his IQ dwindled after being shy and blushing so in terms of his capabilites, he's still awesome!! Hehe I like how he acts differently infront of YuHanJiang and his teammates. Super adorable :>

I loved it so much that I even re read it! The only arc which was a bit so-so and dragging in my eyes was the interstellar one, but all the other were fantastic. I'm going to re read again, I love everything about the group of characters so distinct and entertaining.

So good~ Very well written, engaging & full of suspense, with a touch of warmth & sweetness. Both MC & ML is very smart & resourceful, but not too OP, without their teammate, they won't be able to complete the missions. I love their team dynamics. The final battle is very fierce, satisfying & surprising. Side story after ending is just pure sugar for reader's enjoyment after hundreds chapter of high tension story.

(4/5) This was one of the first novels I read for unlimited flow. The plot was interesting and the instances that the protagonist went through together were fun. It was a great journey to see how they overcame challenges. The MC and ML are strong characters, but the author likes to over-praise the MC's beauty and how smart the MC and ML are in most chapters near the end.
Spoiler

I wished we got more stories about the side characters. Most of the side characters got overshadowed by the MC and ML I ship the ML's brother with the hacker dude, but we don't really get any conclusion on their relationship. Like what the other reviewers said, the author likes to feminize the MC to make it seem like the "wife". I viewed this work with a rose-tinted lens since it was one of my first, but the characterization of the MC is problematic.

[collapse]

To enjoy this story, going in blind is the best way to read it. It might be a hit or miss for some people since the MC and ML are gray sues and the side characters are often there to praise their intelligence. If you're a junkie for unlimited flow it might be worth a shot.

I had to leave a review because this novel was such a pleasure to read! The MC and ML are charismatic and the overarching plot is both compelling and thrilling. 282 chapters in and I'm still excited for more!

Strengths
Plot and world-building
The plot is TIGHT. At its core, this novel is a survival thriller. The mysteries are smart. Every hint is intentional. Explanations are well-thought out. The pacing is good and well-controlled; some 'arcs' are longer than others but this makes sense as each challenge is different. I think what's also great is how emotionally intense the plot can be. I genuinely felt upset/angry/sad as the plot unfolded.

Characters
I love the ML and MC. They're capable and well-developed, and I could gush on and on.

Aside from the ML and MC, what is also great are the side characters! Instead of the side characters serving as mere foils to show-off the powers of the MC/ML, the other characters here are solid in their own right.

Importantly, all the characters interact with each other in a very plausible way. In survival thrillers - there tends to be a common trope for each team to always have some bad-eggs that constantly sabotage everyone else. However, I don't find that particularly realistic. As CR demonstrates, there can be opportunities for teamwork to prevail!
Spoiler

Two arcs that stand out to me re actual teamwork and coordination: 1. Liuxi Village arc (where they worked out an effective team plan to achieve a great outcome and 2. Doomsday escape arc (I was genuinely shook when Yeqi - a non-combatant - actually managed to save the day) ;

[collapse]
Simply put - I love the interactions between every character! I think it adds a lot to the realism of the scenarios - and what makes it so INTENSE.

Readability and deductive reasoning
What was really surprising was smooth it was to read this novel! Each chapter was clear and easy-to-read, while still being engaging and fun. I think this is a testament to the writing quality of the author as well as the great quality of the translation. The puzzles and stories are fairly complex - but it's quite easy to understand and the reasoning behind the puzzles is thoughtful and logical.

Weaknesses
Not so much a weakness - but note that this is slow burn. Both characters are very... oblivious.
Spoiler

282 chapters in and... still no confession yet haha. While MC/ML are very capable and intelligent, their EQ when it comes to romance is quite tragic

[collapse]

Explanations at times can get a bit repetitive, but helps to guide if needed!

OVERALL: highly recommend!
Read if you enjoy mystery/survival thrillers like The Earth is Online or Death Progress Bar.

Another great read so far! (人*´∀`) 。*゚+
Spoiler

The challenges from each set are all really immersive and thrilling. I didn't expect multiple CPs especially from their personalities that they can be so fluffy and pure! (´∩。• ᵕ •。∩`)

Another binge worthy novel; now I just gotta wait ಥ‿ಥ

Was provoked by the review that gave two stars so I read it. Totally nonsense, MC is indeed calm and smart but not perfect, he has flaws and that flaws are covered by the ML who has flaws too, they are complementary to each other. It's also not an automatic love relationship like, boom love at first sight, nope. I know we have different tastes in novels but why make a review about a character when the character build is not even progressing yet? I mean, chapter 5? Honestly? I... more>> didn't read this novel for months since I thought it would be the same old plot but I stayed for the plot and mysteries. Love the Main CP and love the supporting characters. I love how they emphasize trust and sense of belongingness is a vital part as a team. Definitely one of my reread books. <<less

This is definitely a thriller and mystery novel with some slow romance!

Both characters are strong with their own sets of strengths and weaknesses; with the MC being intelligent and thinks outside-the-box while the ML's strengths lies in his physical skills, abilities, and his leadership!

There are no clear romance yet, but the pair had such sweet moments and tact understanding that you just want to ship them together!!
Spoiler

They even have more tact understanding than regular couples!

[collapse]

Every moment is wonderful and both the MC and the ML have equal amount of time to showcase their OPness! Their relationship is so balanced and probably the most balanced relationship I've ever read!

This absolutely became one of my favourite novel!!

If liked earth is online type of novel then you will also like this one.

the dynamics between the members and their cooperation as well as their character stand out in different settings. Sure the MC and ML is the main focus but their teammates were were not treated as shadows as they all have roles to play in.

the plot is engaging, a page-turner if I may say and as for the romance, its a slow burn but the author is pleasant enough to throw some fluffs here and there

this is really really good, although the romance is slow, there are some bits and pieces of fluff and it's really cute.

the MC is smart and cautious while the ML is the typical action person, they really have a good chemistry.

the side characters are also useful and have good mentality.

the plot is also very nice, you won't be bored and the mystery solving are very interesting.

all in all, 10/10, I just hope more chapters would be here soon.

I'm truly enjoying the case style and the mysteries so far, and the characters are interesting and well developed, so I only have one complaint:

Spoiler

the romance is So Slow. After over 100 chapters they've not progressed to even realising their feelings or crush, and only one of the side characters has any idea (implied, not stated).

[collapse]

Besides that complaint, the mysteries are fun and varied, and there's lots to read here. Considering that there are bound to be significantly many more of them, though, the story might end up dragging eventually (and might explain why the relationship development is as it is).

As is, this story is definitely worth a read with a gentle, slow relationship development and a surprisingly intense and action filled plot with plenty of great characters. <<less

Main character is similar to a detective and solves different things in a game world/system.
Spoiler

The chapters are very wordy. The beginning can be pretty dry to be honest. There's not much action. I think it gets better later? Or maybe it's because I've read too many mystery/detective novels haha.

Currently reading this one. Because its still on first chapters so there's not much development, I havent see the ML too. Aside the BL tag, this one is quite good, and its fun to solve the case too. Tbh I already guess in the first case, its the husband but I dont know that he also killed the cousin, I dont know if our MC solved it perfectly is good or not. The real plot tho, very very scary.

Until this point I gave it 5 stars, its easy to read... more>> but also made you wonder about the puzzle, so far so good. Almost like Earth is online vibe.

Its amazing how can novel that still on going and only around 30 chapters already get low rating. Like, you dont even know whats the real plot and already judged it bad. Wow. <<less

I read this novel last year, but since I was a hundred chapters in and just finally made an account why not write a quick review about it:

I admit, I liked this novel pretty much at first despite the plot holes and the draggy writing style... until I didn’t. first of all, there’s no reason why this novel is a 600+ chap long if they didn’t have to describe every little and irrelevant detail, for example I could not care less about the MC and his team having food at... more>> the finest restaurant, at the best spot with the best view. Let’s not forget the lines dedicated to praise our MC/ML in every aspect, every single time, if I could get rid of every time this happens the novel will be cut in half. And mind you not author, last time I checked my memory is good, good enough to remember half of the events of the story despite being months I read it, so there’s absolutely no need to remind the readers every chapter about the so called facts and reasonings our MC came with.

Oh well, did I like the characters? No, were the arcs any better? Maybe, but anything that keeps me entertained for a couple of chapters gets a three starts by me. <<less

This starts off very promisingly. I like the premise of having to clear different card levels, and how the underlying mystery unravels slowly. I also like the ensemble cast and how the author tries to keep track of the specialties of each of these people (to differing levels of success).

I love the Spades rooms because you never know what you're going to get. I really wish the author didn't put down the tests for the Diamonds rooms (those 'IQ brainteasers') because it's the one thing I can solve in an... more>> instant and really cheapens the seriousness of the novel for me.

For someone who enjoys romance, this was one of the few occasions where I was actually not interested in seeing MC and ML get together. In fact, the plot starts to drag after the author tries to write them falling in love! I had to skip the historical arc because it was so draggy, and I am really tempted to drop now in the Interstellar arc. They're in an instance, shouldn't they focus on solving it?!

I went on to read 'Death Spiral (Infinite Flow) ' while I paused this and much preferred the more realistic treatment. <<less

I really wanted to enjoy this book. It started off great, but then it just kept dragging on. I agree with other people who say that some team members don't get enough time in the story. Take, for instance, the dancer and sporty couple; their presence seems minimal, and I half-expected them die in the middle of the novel due to their limited involvement. It's disheartening that many characters are barely acknowledged, and it makes me wonder if the author is even aware of the concept of 'Chekhov's gun.'

4.5/5

(Till chapter 269) I haven't finished reading this but I just had to write a review.

Do I recommend this novel? Yes. Very interesting story narrative with multiple game rooms which will keep you on your toes throughout. MC and ML relationship is slow burn but really adorable and lovely. The found family trope in this novel is to die for. It is literally one of my favourite tropes ever.

... more>> However there are two things I need to vent about hence writing a review in the middle of this novel.

One - the teammates in the novel isn't given much time to shine usually. To the point they are like sheep that just follows the main couple's orders always. Especially the chameleon and long jump couple (?) literally don't even have lines and we forget they exist most of the time.

Two and the most infuriating part of this novel. This novel's main character is Xiao Lou. Then why is the ML taking centre stage? Literally the MC does nothing but stay at home and worry about the ML in a genre that should be full of adrenaline. Even in novels where the MC is weak and ML is OP, the author usually writes from MC's point of view. At the part where I'm reading you can just presume the main character is the side character at this point. The ML isn't a bad guy persay but the way the author is giving ML the most lines in a novel where he isn't the main character irks me.

Edited:

Ok I've completed the novel. The ending was perfect and sweet. The last game was really well written and extremely exciting to read with a lot of plot twists and turnarounds. Overall, aside from a few plotholes and the points I've mentioned earlier, this novel is a hidden gem on novelupdates that I highly recommend. <<less

I loved jt.... but a few points to consider... in the earlier chapters you would feel that the author is repeatedly telling things which is by default things that we know and their take on psychology and other stuffs are basic or elementary... as an author they should research what they are writing about... this was during the early chapters.... but later on these things improved... also during the last 2 arcs I feel like some peoples IQ have regressed... I mean c'mon... u have been in the card world... more>> for a long time and you kmow u shouldn't trust anyone blindly... anyways.... the story as a whole is brilliant unique and really entertaining.... the extras are SWEEETTTTT!!!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE NOVEL.. special mention to Rainbow Mushroom Reads for this wonderful translation..... thanking the author and the translator for bringing us this piece of gem 💎🙏.. great stuff <<less
