I gave high score at first because the writing was amazing, but I still couldn't get over the r*pe/Stockholm syndrome/savior syndrome what it's called. The angst is hard, and I don't feel MC love for ML, ML is selfish and self centered. If yandere/rape/Stockholm genre is your alley, then you'll give this a 5/5.

This is on par with QWFD! The plot is interesting and it's not just about MC ML chasing each other! I've read this officially translated in Thai and I really can't put it down! I totally recommend everyone to have a try on it.

This novel was the first I read about transmigration and I can tell you is a great start to the genre. Maybe you will be confused with some terms but the translation group does a great effort to provide a list with all the terms and after a few chapters it won't be a big problem.

I love the protagonist, his personality and his remarks are hilarious. He knows the situation is sometimes super serious but his reactions are pretty neat, especially because he is a normal reader and it shows.

Yes, he is very handsome, powerful and charming, even in the beginning he is very cute, and I was so investment on them, but in the end, he is the manipulative type and that is not my coffee. I can tolerate to an extent but he breaks my top line.

The MC is terrified for his life basically all the time, but for others he's calm and unflappable. All his panicking is done in the form of roasting everyone mentally. It's hilarious.

On the other hand, the ML doesn't really do it for me as a jealous puppy yandere who has more than enough power to back it up. I prefer the War God who abandoned his reputation of being unbeatable for the sake of retrieving the MC ('s corpse. It gets complicated).

Shen Yuan is my spirit animal and Binghe is a f*cking puppy born beautiful!!
I really love all the side characters too, they're fun and interesting. Shen Yuan is, in true millenial fashion, tries his best to use the 1 braincell to hug the protagonist's thights! Ends up doing his job a bit too well. Hehehe

I was a bit scared the forcefullness showing up in later chapters would maybe go into the yaoi r*pe trope, but surprisingly it didn't. There is no excusing or washing over any forceful behaviour the ML portrays. It's not painted as romantic, but instead for what it is, which makes it a readable for plot sake.

The extra's are really a delight to add to the whole story.

I love this story. I was just read the first chapter and become hook. The plot, character, writing is very good. ML, MC and other character were so interesting. MC is the type of character that I love most in Wuxia or Xianxia drama. MC conversation with system was also amusing. I know an ending and read a synopsis already but still want to read every translated chapter. (Thank you) This novel will be published in my country soon, and I will definitely buy it ^O^

ABOUT THE ANIMATION:

Yes yes, the animation looks like a Barbie movie. But for me it did not take much away.

Even though the animation did not cover a lot from the novel and is not as rich in story, it is SOOOO entertaining! The voice actor of the MC put his whole bussy into it when voicing this, and the comedic moments were perfectly executed!

To all the animation enjoyers: READ THIS ARGHEGEH this was one hell of a rollercoaster! The comedy is super solid and the emotional scenes hit like a truck!

There is something so tasty about a character thinking they are trying to prevent their doom but coping super hard. The fun times go downhill over the course of the the story, the MC is one of those characters that have their eyes fixated on a specific thing so they can't see someone else pulling their tail, and it simply works.

I understand the criticism of the climax, I do agree that the pacing towards the end could have been even better, but for me it did not detract from my enjoyment.

TLDR: Comedy Trainwreck rollercoaster of emotion, intriguing premise delivered and nailed on point, tragic backstories done well, lovable side characters, even a lovable side CP! Thoroughly binge worthy. <<less

I don't have a high threshold for enjoyment, so take this review with a grain of salt, but I loved SVSSS with all my heart. Though it's a work of parody, I found myself moved surprisingly often! I love the characters. My favorite book was number three, mostly because it was the densest book plot-wise. MXTX is creative with her monsters and puzzles (especially clear in MDZS), and this really shone through in the Holy Mausoleum. Someone recommended I read this. I had just finished another transmigration/cultivation series so I figured it would be something similar. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this was yaoi. I read the first volume a bit surprised MC didn't Shen Qingqiu hadn't started a harem yet, as is typically with the cultivation novels I read. At the end of the second volume, I'd begin to suspect something was off. The third novel finally made it clear that this was the polar opposite of a stallion novel.

Amazing novel, an extremely fun and light read. It carries a lot of criticism about its gender, characters etc in the text which may sound odd for some people. Had some trouble with the MC and ML relationship aspects, but they’re both amazing and interesting characters—not unlike secondary characters, who are equally interesting

SQQ has actual personality and humor throughout the book. When you suddenly get transmigrated into some red flag book, you know that SQQ is absolutely clueless. His attempt to walk out of the situation without any scars were doomed to fail from the start because clearly, his so called 'perfect' plans were filled with flaws.

I also loved how the author just makes sure you see LBH as a nice disciple, then switch to a romance partner because that is really hard to do when you are trying to build up a romance. I loved the side characters, and their contribution to the novel overall. The balancing is really good, and it doesnt feel like the leads take too much of the spotlight, nor the supporting characters are too 'leady'

Everytime I read this, I would end up finishing a book within 3 days because id be up till 2AM, delaying the process of sleeping because the book was almost done.

In the beginning, I did not expect to like this novel as much as I did. It was funny and a little silly but then, it took a shocking turn.

I couldn't stop reading because the plot was so intricate, and I needed answers. I stayed awake until five in the morning to finish it.

What I really love about this story are the characters. They are well-rounded, not only MC and ML but also side characters. Mò Xiāng Tóngxiù has the ability to create interesting characters. Even villainous characters have depth. At first, she simply writes what happened from the perspective of the masses, then one sentence here, one episode there, and at the end of the story, you love and sympathise even with a villain. There isn't any description; you find characters true colours through their actions, and those characteristics are so humanlike. All their flaws and good sides are so natural and real. She creates characters who are so real. That's a true talent.

The main characters are wonderful. MC is amazing; he can fanboy and reprimand even in the worst situations. And even at death's breath, he doesn't forget to curry favour with ML. At the same time, because he relied too much on the original work, he misunderstood ML a lot and hurt him many times. ML is amazing too. He should have been a strong and vicious person, but somehow he turned into a crybaby. He should be the strongest person with the protagonist's halo, and in some way he is, but at the same time he has an inferiority complex. Side characters are peculiar and lovable. I would say they are a bunch of weirdos you just can't help but love.

I loved this novel because the plot is interesting, it is written very well, and it is humorous. The unreliable system and the MC's inner comments and banter with the system make every situation funny. At the same time, some episodes and characters will break your heart. In short, this novel is too good. It is so good that it is my third time reading it, so naturally I recommend it; it is one of my favourite novels. I actually read this quite a while ago but hadn’t gotten around to writing a review, and that’s mostly because I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. It’s well written, there’s a lot about it to like, but - possibly because I read it after MDZS and TGCF - at the end, I was left feeling just a bit disappointed.
On the whole, it had good world building, and although relatively basic, a concise and well-crafted plot. Plus, the side character are great, and the MC (who, as other reviewers have pointed out, is an extremely unreliable narrator and an almost pathological liar) and ML (who’s honestly kinda much and a nutcase) have an interesting (though pretty twisted) relationship arc, as the description quite clearly shows they would.
But it is an HE, and if you enjoy fairly heavy drama and tragedy, interspersed with ridiculous comic moments (and really terrible sex), you should definitely pick this up.

This novel is light, fun, easy to understand and follow up. There's a lot of criticism and satire to novels and writing. So is actually clever this way. The MC is like all cold and calm outside, while losing his sh1t inside, what can be quite funny. He's clever and kind and good.

The ml, it can be annoying how much he cries, but by the end you understand a little why he cries so much. But truly he just want to he loved and is afraid to be alone.

To me mxtx is the best when comes to create secondary characters, this is still true here, once I still care more to some secondary characters from here than from other novels. But in this novel, compared to mdzs and tgcf, her secondary characters is a little less remarkable. I don't remember their names, just that I liked them. Lbh father, snake boy and sqq original body friend.

Now the romance. Is complicated. Here's the thing, sqq loves lbh, he loves unconditionally, but not romantic, not throughout mostly part of the novel. People confuse this and forget the types of love and say he didn't love him. But he did, from the time lbh was a child. Only, ofc, not romantic.

He's obsessed with him though, like "he's so perfect, who wouldn't want to sleep with him" obsessed. What could mean he is in love throughout the novel. But heart beat fast, desire, desire for kiss and stuff, only happens in the extra.

Is this novel, their relationship is completely developed in the extras. The extras is a must read.

Is only in the extra that you feel sqq being in love as much as lbh is with him. But before this he has a very sweet, unconditional love for lbh.

The thing about bingqiu is that they're both obsessed and codependent in each other. They're not health. Lbh is a demon who can be manipulative, he's needing and clingy. I didn't like how by the end he was still insecure, but at the same time is nice show that those feelings don't just go away because you have a boyfriend. Sqq can't say no to lbh, he spoils him and is needing as well.

To me they work fine. Is fiction, and as long as they love each other and there's not noncon, abusive thing, I'm fine in not being healthy. They're sweet and is one of my favorite couples. I'm particularly in love with the love that sqq has for his disciple.

Anyways, just read to have some fun. Is not as much painful as tgcf or mdzs. But is good. <<less

i mean it’s an alright novel I guess. I really enjoyed the development of the storyline, comedy was great, characters were great, I just wanted to see more fluff between the MC and ML. It felt kinda one sided until the very end.

What makes this more interesting is the mc's inner monologue XD there's no boring parts for me. The story, characters, setting, etc. Are well made and not confusing as expected of MXTX. I don't know how many times I read this and also bought the books. It's a 10/10 for me and definitely recommended to read.

P.S. It's been a long time since I read this but I'm still hoping for the author to make an AU or more extras for Bingge.

I’m giving a 4 but I recommend this because:

the characters are so good so engaging you might even like the side characters more than the main ones

this story is really fun to read and the problematic parts are few and if you don’t think about them too much you won’t notice them

characters are LOVELY not in the form that they are nice but in the way that there is variable characters with different personalities and motivations and all of their actions have a logical reason

although there is character development but I think despite all her merits this is somewhere that MXTX fails. You can’t actually see the characters development there is usually time skip and you just have the mc’s speculation as to why and how this happened. Also there is not enough attention to side characters. Some of them get some attention in the extras but beside that it is just mc’s pov which I think it’s a shame specially with such a good side characters

First series I've read from MXTX's works! I wanted to start with something more lighthearted and I'm glad I chose SVSSS. As people point out, there are obvious issues with the characters, story, and plot and it's not perfect. Luo Binghe is mentally unstable as heck and Shen Yuan is unreliable as heck and the plot would be pretty dark and tragic if this book wasn't hilarious. It's a book with cliche tropes that makes fun of cliche tropes, peak comedy lol
