At first, it's a pretty decent novel, nothing extremely good about that stands out, maybe the character interactions between the main female and male lead are nice.
Then, as the story goes on, it changes from a rather light hearted novel about farming, to a full on novel about some bullsh*t wars. Well, not really wars, because the MC manages to save the day pretty much singlehandedly. This is because of how he gains OP skills and abuses a hidden system that most people don't know about to no end. The system itself appears to need skill, and his real life martial arts abilities just happens so to be the same system. It's not well written at all.
At the end, it just gets weird. Really f*cking weird and badly written.
The level of descriptive writing the author has isn't that high, and it isn't forgiven by how his scenarios and general plot is all over the place and doesn't really make sense.
All in all, I hated myself for finishing it.
I've been reading this novel since 2015, I was 11 back then. f*ck me I was blind, I made an effort to re-read the entire novel up to recent and I f*cking regret wasting my time.
This author has one hundred percent not playing a single game which is multiplayer in his life. He often times exaggerates player base for each server (for some reason instead of giving Europe one server, he gave them a shitton of servers for each country...
He gives India/China a player base of hundreds of millions (these gear cost 200+ dollars and definitely would not attract a fraction of that number) and for some interesting reason there's a shitton of women playing it... I wonder why
It might sound sexist, but I for one cannot imagine millions of women in (2017 when the game is released) grinding a game for hours onto hours, onto days (for this game, real life does not exist because somehow the game makes millions of people fight in a quest for literally a day straight). I get it, there's gamer girls and they're extremely talented, but bro ain't no way 90% of such a game won't be men.
the MC is f*cking dumb idk how he got a girlfriend. There's some cultivation subplot which is supposed to "juice" up the storyline, but it's honestly garbage and I don't get how he maintains his martial arts and sh*t when he SPENDS ALL DAY IN A GAME.
There's times when he gets wounded and doesnt log on for a week straight and he still somehow recovers vs people who've been grinding all that time.
Gamers know that in a new game, if you go missing for a week you can say your top class goodbye, it's over for you.
Then there's this other incident where Macha betrays MC, and they nonchalantly forgive her about it because... she's a valuable member of Zhan Long which is f*cking bullshit, she caused people's blood and sweat for half a year to go to waste.
The author is completely deluded and everyone besides the MC is inferior, even his "rivals" get outshined eventually after an arc or two, heck even his "friends" basically only exist for comedic relief.
Overall, this story being a 3 star is generous because it doesnt even give the game a good portrayal, it's basically a game in name only because these NPC are essentially actual existing beings, I wouldn't be surprised if this game is an actual alternative world.
I mean seriously, the dude (don't remember if it's the protag) is a swordsman and he looks back and say "Tanks, your job is to TANK! As for healers, listen carefully, ok? Your job... is... to... HEAL!! 3- Classes shouldn't be able to use equipment not for suitable for their type: priests shouldn't be able to wield a sword. And even if the game allows that, there should be many demerits in doing so, such as stats growth.
Now, let's say we can distribute aquired stat points as we like and put everything into physical stats like strength or endurance. What happens to your healing spell? It doesn't grow with you that's what happens. Say at level 10 it heals you by 50%. When you reach level 50, you'll be lucky if you get 5% out of it. 4- Health is just too damn low. And stats are WAY too unbalanced. 5- You can't solo bosses, that's an iron clad rule. They drop powerful items so they're made hard to defeat in a group let alone soloing it. In The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor, the protag can solo bosses by using extreme tactics to deal heavy damage and using pets and other NPCs to assist.
It's not realistic in the LEAST to just "hang around" for HOURS and shave the boss' health a tiny bit at a time.
