The Peng Society for Gentlemen — a secret friend-making club for the homos*xual men of the Great Xia Dynasty. Its services were designed to help its members along in their quest for their lifelong partners. Upon paying a monthly fee of fifty coins, members could get themselves listed in The Pengornisseur after providing a self-portrait, a mailing address, their age and hobbies, as well as a self-introduction. All members would receive a copy of the monthly publication, and they could communicate with one another in private using the information in The Pengornisseur.

Wu Xingzi, a bachelor about to turn forty, worked as the adviser to the magistrate in Qingcheng County.

Qingcheng County was a place with barely any resources. In other words, it was poor. In the list of counties of the Great Xia Dynasty, it had been ranked at the bottom for the past two hundred years.

Wu Xingzi felt that his life was hopeless: not only was he a homosexual, he was also a virg*n. Even his retirement fund was lacking. Worse still, his looks were… forgettable.

He might as well die.

Hence, Wu Xingzi decided to commit su*cide on his fortieth birthday. However, he was unwilling to remain a virg*n to death! And so, gritting his teeth, he joined the Peng Society for Gentlemen and received The Pengornisseur. It was very painful; after all, fifty coins were the sum of his daily expenditure for ten days! He would only pay it once, and he was determined to succeed on his first try.

what can I say but that I liked this a lot! Hahahhahah ive laughed a lot! This was so ridiculous and I love how ML is trying his best to be That meanie but MC always throws him off his pace LOL fr this was a good read if you want a hurt stomach!

story-wise, er, can't say it's perfect! My interest surely calmed the more I read it, and I had my times when I put it down to do something else/it wasn't a must finish must consume asap read... more>> for me 🤣 does that make sense. But loved the mc's character v much. V understandable how his face may be plain and surrounded by beauties, but he could still capture ur heart. He's not weak, as in the story, he's actually the one who most got his way 😂. He's not a pushover! He's not weak. At least that's how I understood him. I liked him sm! More than ML hahah ML wasnt rlly anything special for me hhahsg but I rlly liked the moments when he literally coughs blood when MC stresses him out beyond his mind!! He's p straightforward and righteous, in a way? He's not mean-hearted. Only with terms of affections is he cruel haha he's a v doting lover ahahh he doesn't treat lovers that cruelly? He spoils them wc is why they cry when he leaves them haha. I rlly liked how he doted on the MC. MC deserves as much!

the concept of the pengornisseur (?) was so novel and cool! And how MC was obsessed with pengornis hahah haha!!

smut was just a bit repetitive for me TT

when I got to the end, I was pushin to finish it before I was sleeping, my thoughts were all about huh it's the end, time for the cheesy ending ig but then bam! HAHAHAHH agh this novel is rlly !!! This really throws u for a loop hahah my stomach hahaha great start! Great ending! Not the most memorable, for sure, but I think it's a nice read! Try it!

I'm new to the BL novel world, and I originally only read web comics. But I decided to venture in this world and I'm already addicted.

This novel is so chef-kiss! Really 10/10. I was completely immersed and binged read it. I really like the characters and in my opinion, they're very well-constructed. The ending was concise and didn't left me with any questions about the plot. It left me wanting it to have more chapters to read!

MC is epitome of adorable, he left me wanting to protect him from the... more>> whole world. He is simple, gentle, loves to eat and in the start you can see that he is very detached from the ML, to the point you start asking yourself if he really likes the ML. But as the story progresses, you discover the reason why he is this way, simpatizes him and feel apologetic.

He is very lonely, after all, he spent more than 20 years living alone. So he has no expectations of love and is aware of his lack of 'worth'.

But deep in his heart, he wants to love only one person and have one person to only love him.

About the ML.... he is, indeed, a fool about love matters. He's bad news and very possessive.

In the start, he's s playboy who plays with people hearts and discards them as soon as he gets tired of them. But when WXZ doesn't give a d*mn about him, he gets angry because no one has 'used' him and treated him this way before.
He's indecisive and it takes a time for him to realize he's already in love with the MC.

But it doesn't mean I hate his character. He is the person who would do anything for the man he loves, doting him and staying loyal to the end. This man really is caring and sweet with Wu XingZi, pampering him.

My absolute favorite chapter is the 87, when they profess their feelings for each other. And my favorite part is when WXZ starts to live in Bastion City with GSJ. Mint and Osmanthus are really sweet and cute! Although, I condemn "abduction".

ps.: I'm a bit sad that they didn't have a smut scene to spoil us at the end tho.
(And I agree that some actions in the smut scenes are rather impossible, but it's fiction so it didn't put me off at all.)

my favorite bl novel, the s*x scene is detailed and there's no repetition, there's some plot too so it's not pwp, I love how the uke is not forced, he knows what he likes, he enjoy it too, and it's not really surprising about his line of thought, at first he's only in it for the s*x, knowing his low position and not expecting for more, he's timid but know himself well

Honestly when I read smut I don't hold much expectations, but this novel was so wholesome. If anything it's the interactions between the MC and the ML that have a comedic undertone and lightheartedness making the reader slightly frustrated at angsty plot points being turned into a funny situation or a realization that the MC is indifferent to. 😭 The MC is dorky and has many faults but the ML is a wife s*ave after realizing where his affections lie. Rating: 4.5/5- Good plot and realistic and intelligent characters. Overall, a superb read!

So first things first, I started off hating the ML and I was convinced I was going to still hate him when the book ended. Surprisingly I still held some dislike when it was over but he redeems himself I guess. The author made that transition really natural so it was great.

The MC is a total MVP in this story. His personality is truly wonderful and he’s just adorable but self-sufficient and I love his thought process. He’s... more>> truly one of my favorite MCs of all time. He’s consistent, strong, stubborn but mostly he’s true to his heart. I loved him so much because I related so much to his personality.

The villains in this novel are truly treacherous- like this novel has the type of people I hate the most: those who play with people’s feelings for selfish gains. They got their just desserts coming and it was very satisfactory. I wanted to know more about Rancui and Hei’er though, coz it seemed like something was brewing there, but the author never really closed off their arc for some odd reason. They were definitely together- I’m sure.

Overall the plot is really interesting and it makes you want to finish the book. It’s smut heavy so you may find yourself getting a bit bored with some of the scenes (I skimmed through quite a few) after reading the first 3, but the smut is well written and quite imaginative (not scientifically accurate at all though).

I highly recommend reading this for its novelty and character uniqueness. The plot is also well thought out. Very enjoyable! <<less

Okay, you have to believe me when I tell you that this is a GREAT novel. In fact, I pretty much made this account to review this novel, lol. The age dynamics are depicted very well, with no amateurish teenage love shenanigans. If you are tired of 17-20 somethings, go for this mature (and the papapa is next level) love story. The MC does not pursue revenge, he does not even pursue the ML, yet both fall in love quite naturally. The pengornis addiction makes me exasperated at some points,... more>> but MC is so likeable, I can't really hate him. ML is also not crazy like other MLs are with their white moonlights, so that is a bonus. All in all, do try out this new type of novel, replete of ancient sexting societies, suave and charming martial men and... legendary usage of items as s*x toys. <<less

romance, comedy, smutty, well written characters as for how most rom-com novel go it pretty good tho
The ML are pretty dulls but passable. Borderline Non-con but very willing bottom here lol.
I love how shameless they both are. So freaking funny.

So many NSFW R18+ scene. To the point that it was ridiculous. So unrealistic. Cheeky and funny. It blend it with how ridiculous the story is.

what I LOVE MOST about this work is how planed out it was
Every chapter come with purpose and punchline. It leave you smiling and wanting to read the next.
the plot point is okay but clear. Enough info not too much or too little. Didn't think less of its reader. Clearly know the science steps.

I like how it just didn't pretend to be anything special. Like the MC. It was humble and give you the cake.

It makes you tears up a bit too. Under the comedic and the unrealistic tone there were pretty good subplots.
Fun ride I have. Def read again when depression calling for me. So warm n fluffy.

Ngl I was not expecting much from this novel, I only wanted to read something light-hearted and stay away from the angst but I was pleasantly surprised!

The plot is very funny! From the very beginning, I loved Wu Xingzi a lot. He's not your typical MC, he's very aware of who he is and always puts himself first instead of suffering bc of the love interest. He also seems very silly but is actually very smart, reading this story was so satisfying. Even if there were problems with Guan Shanjin,... more>> he was so unbothered lmao, everytime Guan Shanjin would try to make Wu Xingzi jealous he wouldn't care. What a king.

Obviously, their love story was also amazing and very strange. Overall, it was such an amazing read. I would never get bored or tired of them, the author really did a good job. I highly recommend it! (Also, the smut is so so so good wth)

Such a brilliant masterpiece.. Full of hot smutty scenes you can visualize.

The MC was really.. The epitome of self-awareness, to a fault, which I can personally relate to strongly.

Definitely a story that I will reread!!

This is definitely one of the best I've read. It has a good plot and about 1/4 of the novel is *ahem* p*rn ;)

I've read a fair amount and novels and never have I read such explicit interactions before. Usually all the Asian yaoi novels I've read before just vaguely say in a sentence "The night was filled with moans..." And that's it. But this one really went into depth about everything! Another plus is how the MC actually wants yo have s*x and says that he likes it.... more>> Usually in most of the novels or manga I've read, the uke is always like "No. No. Stop." But this one was just like "More. More. Harder" LMAO

The relationship between the MC and ML develops beautifully. In the beginning they are practically just s*x friends and the ML just uses the MC as a substitute for the dude he actually loves.

But then the ML actually falls for the MC and realized how shitty and s*upid the dude he used to like is. that dude just wanted yo use the ML as a means to live a good and happy life. The ML just had to think about the dudes actions to figure that out but as they say, "Love is blind".

Anyways after the MC and ML realize their feelings and actually get together the ML is really sweet to the MC :)

Since the MC has such a big appetite the ML starts cooking all his food to help him gain weight and is practically the MCs caretaker at that point lol <<less

Why did I rate a long novel full of smut when I, as a person, doesn't really like smut. It's because of the plot. To be precise, it's because of the mains' character development. MC and ML are both unique and also their emotions are really life-like. On the other hand, I really like MC's personality. His outer appearance were really normal but he's like "Hey I don't like you, I only like your bird!" or something like that, it's really a game changer.

The novel's world is quite small, like the story only revolves on a few characters but the plot was a bit ambitious. But I really don't mind since I think the main concept of this novel is smut. JK. I don't know. God please, I'm sorry.

Anyways, I recommend this if you're lonely and not a child anymore. <<less

Not overly sweet love story and I like it very much! ♥♥♥

The MC is gentle and kind hearted. He was betrayed before by a scum, so after he met ML, he wanted to run away from him because he was scared. He didn't believe that a feeling like LOVE can last forever. So it's better to run before you get hurt!

Some readers said that ML is a jerk. A scum two-timer. But I think he has his own consideration. Maybe, become his lover would only bring more harm for the... more>> MC, so he did a very despicable thing just to protect his beloved. I started this last night, and finished it at the same time. I got online class but who cares, this novel just managed to hooked me up.

At first, I didn't really like the MC since he seem too timid for my type (I mean who the heck stutter everytime they speaks) but I just bear with it since everyone seem to like this novel. But as I continue reading it, I began to like the MC. Maybe because I began to understand the MC. As to why his character... more>> is like that and I began to love him. He might be a bit shy but what I love about him is he is very stubborn, he doesn't just fall in love with anybody that nice to him, he protect his heart as well. I was kind of frustated with the ML and I began to have a love hate relationship with him. The ML really pampered the MC but at the same time I just felt that it's not sincere. He's not doing it for the MC and he just using MC and a replacement. I was so conflicted since he's nice but kind of like scumbag. It was satisfying seeing MC behave like he don't really care about the ml, and seeing ML fall head over heels toward MC. I love seeing ML suffer, heck I felt satisfied since most MC in other novel just forgive their ml.

Anyway, I love this novel and my head hurts from crying too much. <<less

I liked this story.

It's a cute, easy to read story with a little bit of political intrigue and lots of papapa.

This one is a little different from other danmei as the MC is an average looking, suicidal 40 year old man. He is a poor county advisor. The ML is the only son of one of the most powerful military families and is a much younger man then the MC.

This story is entertaining and fun to read and I completed it in less than two days.

At first I was extremely frustrated with MC and how dense and a pushover he is but towards the end I really liked him. He is not good looking and he is old which is kinda refreshing to read tbh because everyone is just beyond gorgeous in every novel I read. But inspite of all that, the best thing I like about him is how independent he is. He knows his shortcomings but he... more>> doesnt appear desperate. His love for food and his EXTREME OBSESSION with pegornis is endearing and you will end up liking him a lot at the end of the novel.

The ML is problamatic as people have pointed out and is like the typical danmei ML, powerful, jealous, aggressive and extremely gorgeous. He is also indecisive in matters of love and wants everything for himself but I kinda dont hate him because MC really makes him run around a lot hahaha. If not for the character of MC and how much he frustrated and made the ML work for his love, I would have not liked him.

The story is funny and cute and all the side characters are likable.

The smut is well written and ABUNDANT albeit a little weird sometimes but I liked it nonethess.

I really like this novel, even though there are many obscene scenes but the plot is very interesting, very funny MC prefers pengornis and food than ML, even though they actually finally realize each other's feelings, I will definitely reread this novel, highly recommended for those who like pe*verted reading 😄

I cried twice and giggled alot on this novel. The only thing that made me disatisfied is no more extra chapters. ;) Let me peek a lil more of their daily life after main story ended pwease. But pleading is useless since its considered completely ended. 😢😢

Undoubtedly one of the sweetest and moving stories I've read here.

The plot, the pacing, the character development... everything was just right. Even the smut was captivating!

I cried and laughed with the CP, felt heartache and anger for everyone. Also a bit expectant towards the subtle side CP. (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

... more>> This is a story about how both MC and ML found true love in each other, healing the wounds from loving their own manipulative white moonlights.

I'm so happy for both of them and even though I'm not the type to get too involved with fictional characters, I still can't help but sincerely wish them eternal happiness and love.

Definitely a good read. Don't let the low reviews mislead you. <<less
