I enjoy reading this novel. Their story is truly interesting & addictive.

Zhao Nan Yu and Song Lu An were a couple 3 times as they trasmigrated 3 times. I'm just glad to read that they ended up as a couple throughout their 3 lifetimes.

I enjoy reading how dedicated Zhao Nan Yu is to Song Lu An though his love method sometimes annoys her.

This novel is REALLY good, I finished reading it and I really enjoyed the story. But in the end you will see some plotwist 👁👄👁

Spoiler

The FL's actually her, aka their souls are the same (so the plotwist she is that the character herself) because it's her destiny with ML. So god came to take FL in the modern world to her third fate.

in the first life FL cursed ML because they were a couple but ML betrayed & killed her just for power. The curse said "in the next life he will never care about ML again" and if she did then the curse would make FL die in his hands. Yeah because he loved her, he regretted killing her in this first life.

this is repeated in the 2nd life as in the novel where it is written,

3rd life: FL in modern life gets into the novel but in the end she dies too in his hands. In this life the ML & child really love her. Ofc he's crazy obsessed with her too, but it's cute because FL knows how to tame his personality🥰.

4th life: ML gets memories of his past and after that the god appears then explains to him too. So in this life he loves her more and he doesn't care whether she loves him back or not. It's okay as long as FL life and always with him. (Be a part of his life to build a family)

[collapse]

PS: At the end of every life, ML will regret killing him when the memory returns🤧

don't worry this is a happy ending story. They will be together and have 2 kids :) *I'm really sorry for my bad at english, I'm trying hard to explain bcs I swear it's reallyyyy a pretty good story❤️ you'll not regret reading this story & hopefully u'll really love this story as much as I do love it<3 <<less

I totally recommend this novel. Please don't trust the bad reviews, you should give it a try first. Thank god I gave it a try despite the bad reviews and I don't regret it. Now its one of my favourite novel.

It can be said that it is your typical Chinese novel with the "tr*shy" (is he tho?) ML and the FL Villainess seeking redemption out of her character, but but but the author unfolded the story in a not so typical way and showed how each MCs emotions tread along the scenes which leads you to feel the burn, comedy and heartbreak in each line. You may question their character over and over again, but that's how fate works you know ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭. It's an unconventional... more>> novel and I like it soooooo 5 stars! So to talk about it, really, recc it if you want to hate on the ML and are for some brain killing.

No one thinks her 180 is sus, like, I get the kid but everyone else?

Shaky timeline. The passage of time is really disregarded as a plot point, and mentioned as a 'oh right, time exists' which gets different lvls of annoying. Characters disappear and reappear like whack a moles and mostly have no weight.

It's more of an obsessive possession on the ML's side, and an ''I can't escape and... more>> am therefore allowing more and more control to the person who is keeping me captive'' on the MC's side. Which made me quite glad for the extra

of their past lives

.

The ending didn't commit to either hating or loving but is still biased to the ML seeing as he gets what he wants, which is to control the MC's entire existence. Which really just makes a person angry.
Spoiler

For the shippers, there is vague conformation that she kinda liked him but was ''blessed'' with indifference by the Daoist so she wouldn't have to live through hardship, yet he for some reason, got her back to the ancient times?? There's ample lovey dovey scenes and ML gets an obedient tho indifferent wife by the end of it. For the ML haters there's the definite indifference by the MC, the ML's awareness of it, his guilt -tho that's not enough for him to let her go- but it's a joke when you actually consider that he got the best part of the deal, she doesn't even pull any passive aggressive action or ignores him completely, but lets herself be completely controlled and allows him to do w/e he wants. Doesn't even go like, you can have a wife in name alone, and bans him from being within touching distance.

Complete submission is not much different from absolute forgiveness.

The emperor and the hidden woman are there only to make you think, ah, she could've had it worse.

ML uses a lot of intimidation tactics, coupled with violence in s*x as punishment and the general s*xual abuse and disregard of the MC's wants on the reg.

The original, from the beginning, bfr I even read the end ch and the extra, didn't think was in the wrong for anything. It's just a pity she didn't actually survive and kill the ML and instead had such a tragic ending, and after reading to the end I think that even more.

Basically a wobbly crash course to brainwashing. <<less

I hate what happened to Hauijin. I hate it so much. It was literally so cruel what the author did to him. I hope in the next life he doesn't meet the same fate. But other than that the story was a good read. It had a lot of angst, but it also had a lot of funny and interesting moments. Though f*ck the author for what they did to Hauijin. Literally, the man deserved better. Also, I know the kids were not like the main part of the story,... more>> but I wish they were incorporated a little better, but whatever. Before I start my review I want to point out one major thing for people who might get influenced and not pick this book after reading other people's complaints in their reviews. THIS BOOK IS A LOVE STORY OF A CONTROL FREAK TWISTED PERSON. Lots of people have complaints about ML and MC's relationship. If its a healthy relationship and not abusive one. Well let's get real not everyone is good in this world. There are also lots of people with faults but they too want to have their own... more>> happy ending. This book delivers that kind of a story. Our ML is full of faults and is a control freak so much that he even forbids MC to go outside even to meet her own family. He keeps her under constant surveillance and at some point even locks her in room. But you can also blame it to his insecurity which gets developed and became worst after watching MC's alter ego cheat on him constantly. So once he realises his feelings (because he fell in love with his present wife ie our MC) he cuts off her freedom in fear of her being with other men and have history repeat itself.

ML does lots of unreasonable things which of course I dont agree too as a women. But remember it's a story about a imperfect guy and a grudge holding girl. So the problem is with both them. Which also makes me feel that they really do deserve each other. MC is way too willful, opinionated and open minded that she wouldn't have been happy with any other guy in that era. Considering how it's normal to have concubines and always be under your husband's thumb (don't forget husbands can also hit their wifes within the law) and be ruled by your mother-in-law and other elders. MC would have been very sad and frustrated

There is also a good thing that they never ever let their difference affect their son. Whenever they fought the child was always sheltered well from it.

I was very satisfied to read this book about such imperfect characters. I really would like to thank author for writing it and translators for picking this up. (5 stars from me)

Definitely recommend!!! <<less

I have so many mixed feelings that I don't know how to start...

this novel is so bittersweet that you just want to give up in the middle to free yourself from all these pains but you just have to go on and see the end.

ML is really a psychopath but MC won't fall in love so I guess it's actually ok.

Chefs kiss - it was a bit confusing but I liked the ending. My absolute favorite chapters were the extra ones, it gave me fluffies. Overall it was a bit dark but I found that aspect to be quite intriguing. I like that the male lead didn’t like have an instant revelation that he was in love with FL but it was a gradual process. HOLY FRICK THE MALE LEAD IS A NASTY SCUMBAG. He basically locks her up and ignores her right to live as an independent person. She doesn't love him and she will never love him because over 3 lifetimes, he has continuously killed her. This guy freaking sucks. The only reason why she's with them and "content" is for her mental health. If you are locked up by a super possessive stalkerish man who won't even let other people see you, realistically, you can't run and will either 1. Go insane and potentially commit su*cide (in the past, su*cide rates in China were one of the highest in the world. There has been more reform but it wasn't until around the 1950s or so that a marriage law was introduced to protect women who were forced into marriages who wished to divorce. Ex. Tongyanxi aka child brides were very common in rural areas, they were essentially cheap labor for the families that purchased them.) or 2. Bear with it (which she does by forcing her current mindset because there's literally no other solution). They are married, but he continuously r*pes her (s*x without consent is r*pe, and yes, marital r*pe exists). The ML honestly only cares for himself, his love for her is also a selfish one. If he truly loved her, he would have let her go and not force her to death like he did.

[collapse]

I think this novel is an interesting but incredibly problematic analysis of yandere. I think many readers realized this but please understand that the relationship between the MC and ML is not a good thing. You wouldn't want to be Song Luan. Her situation and the interactions between her and the ML get fluffed over by the author, but don't be fooled: their relationship is incredibly unhealthy and forced. In RL, if someone is Zhao Nanyu level of yandere, it's not cute it's not nice. Watch out for your safety and if you do not feel safe, please call the police and make sure you have a good network of friends and family who will look out for you. <<less

I rated it 5 star even though the translation is not quite good but the plot is good and unique. I did not like the FL leads attitude after she transmigrated but later understood why as the story unfold the 1st and 2nd lifetime. What got my interest to finish this novel is the ML sufferings and regrets. His lifelong sufferings and regrets on their first life where in the ML had live a lifetime of heartache, misery and grief. He is at fault for letting go on the FL... more>> love for him and again suffered another two lifetime because the FL curse of not loving him anymore. Their last life which I could say the 4th one is very satisfying. The ML had suffered enough and the FL is willing to compromise. The FL might not be able to say the words of love and like to the ML but her actions shows otherwise. I was a bit reluctant to read it at first because of the tragedy tag thinking this would not have a HE but make no mistake this definitely have a happily ever after story. <<less

It started so good but now it's getting really difficult to read because the ML went too far.

he forced her to abort her child which she really loved and the way the story is written, you really empathise with her heartbreak which makes it 1000000 times more tragic. It also makes you hate the ML and want to beat him up ?

The synopsis made the story seem like it had great potential, but when trying to display it, the story fell short. The beginning was very intriguing as the MC, Song Luan was just trying to survive and probe the ML, Zhao Nanyu. But as soon as the plot reaches halfway point, things start to get darker and don't amalgamate as well as it should.

The author starts to switch the camera angle more and we begin to see ZN become more 'human' (in a sense). We see his concern and care for SL and he comes to terms with himself, that in the end, everything had been his fault. ZN doesn't shy away from the fact that the harm done was from his initial wish on the original soul. SL is discontent with staying with ZN because of his yandere tendencies and that she still thinks that he will kill her because of what she's read and also because of her dreams.

Eventually, past chapter 50, they reconcile a bit with each other due to an 'accident'. Sadly, that's short-lived as it falls into shambles just as soon as it's built up. All that is fine, until, the author decided to throw in the 'run-away-while-I'm-pregnant' trope. It really spoils the whole novel, for me at least, because I want SL to find a better solution rather than running away with her I-don't-care-about-the-consequences-let-me-do-whatever-I-want mindset. It also makes the novel a lot more predictable and less entertaining, because of this overly used trope. I mean, she already has ZN in the palm of her hands, she just has to know which buttons to press, really.

[collapse]

Character personality-wise, I like how ZN is changing himself slowly for the better, especially since he did it for SL. Although he doesn't 'unblacken', he's not as ruthless as he was in the past and can even be seen to have more humanity in him.

**Many readers don't like him, based on the number of reviews I just read but looking at the tags on the novel, most readers should've known what they were getting into. The ML is no saint nor is he like most normal people, he was written in the 'novel' that he had a twisted personality and is ruthless.

As for SL, I really enjoyed her character for the first 10-15 chapters. But that was it. Afterward, she just seemed to be very ignorant and scared to the point of being blind. I know the author is abusing ZN so that he'll be redeemable later, but there's a lot of unnecessary bashing and drama between the two lead's relationship, solely because of SL. It even ruins the fluff from Xiao Zhao, their son. Overall, don't expect the FML in the novel to be much different from the other novels' weak FMLs.

[collapse]

The translation at this time is a little over the halfway mark and seeing how things are developing, I feel like if the beginning sounded interesting to you, you should probably wait until the novel is translated at least 3/4 of the way with how things are progressing with the story.

This novel does have a yandere male lead, so if that turns you off, don't proceed. The novel also has a headstrong, half closeminded female lead--so, be aware of what you're getting yourself into. <<less

I'm in the middle half of the story now and I just can't bring myself to like to ML. I see almost no character development and what makes it worse is that the MC just bears everything handed out for her like she has no back bone.

The story has been progressing slowly and I can't really tell if it's heading towards a good direction. There's no specific antagonist labeled out yet so it feels a little like its dragging.

might be biased towards this slow development so I'm temporarily giving this... more>> story 3 stars <<less

the ML is overbearring, so possesive, but I can understand, theres dark story behind its. and its makes me cried so hard again : (

its very touching story, I still cant move on : (

I'm so happy for them...

the ML is already shallow his own sin, I think he's worthy to have a happy ending, and finally he have a happy ending : (

I have mixed feelings about this one. When both main characters:

  • have bad things that they did in the past and present,
  • have goodness in them and are caring and sweet in past and present,
  • have flaws that are obvious but they do not change.
There's probably more but I just can't place my troubled heart into words. The fact that I did not drop this one means it was addictive enough for me to want to finish it. I just did not get a satisfying ending or even sufficient character growth.
