Lu Xia ended up transmigrating into the body of a sent-down youth in the 1970s, replacing her older sister who was supposed to go to the countryside.

Thinking about how the original host was mistreated, there was no way she could tolerate it. She sold her job, schemed against them, and then left for the countryside with a sense of satisfaction.

However, it was only upon boarding the vehicle that she realized something shocking – she not only transmigrated but also transmigrated into a novel!

Lu Xia was on the verge of cursing, and at that moment, she also discovered that she was a cannon fodder character. Sitting next to her was another cannon fodder, and across from her were the male lead and female lead…

Since she had come, she had to adapt. Lu Xia couldn’t possibly become cannon fodder, so after going to the countryside, she tried to stay away from the male and female leads and live her own peaceful life.

However, the result was…

TL:DR - Gossip Simulator - That 70's Edition

It's not a horrible read, but I ran out of steam around ch 410 and dropped it. In the first major arch when the MC is in the countryside there is at least some tension as there are times when sparks fly her way, but increasingly she just becomes a spectator of other people's drama. Somewhere in the middle it seems like the MC and her man are happy with the status quo of their lives. It's not that they don't have goals,... more>> its just painfully obvious that it will be trivial to accomplish or that once again it will just fall in their laps for reasons.

One thing this story did get right is how shitty people can be with each other. Melodramatic at times sure, but most of the conflicts have believable motivations, and even outcomes (sometimes). That might not sound like praise but there were a few times I had to chuckle because I've seen similar scenarios in real life. Especially when it comes to the family/romance drama. The culture might be different, but the essence is more or less the same.

I had mixed feelings about the MC's so called golden finger. In many stories it's way too OP but in this one it feels rather underwhelming.

I might come back and finish later but for now it's Zzzzz <<less

This is another story that made me felt bittersweet upon finishing it but not because it had a tragic ending.

Spoiler

It's just that, reading the death of the characters you attached for hundreds chapters even though it's due to old age was still saddening for me. However, they indeed had a fulfilling life so they had no regrets.

[collapse]

This story itself had a standard plot of back to 70s novel such as:

    • MC went to college after the resume of College Entrance Examination
    • MC became a successful businesswoman and became super rich
    • Occasionally, there would be annoying family members
The difference of this story from other 70s novel perhaps was MC and ML's status as cannon fodders in the orgFL and orgML's story. Although they became cannon fodder, MC and ML weren't originally a bad person. The org Lu Xia, although she had a crush on orgML didn't actively pester orgML and only silently liked him while ML didn't have anything to do with both orgML and orgFL. However, they're both unlucky by meeting an accident that later costed their lifes

Spoiler

Thankfully, the author also gave the org Lu Xia the happiness that she deseved after she switched soul with the current MC.

[collapse]

I usually enjoyed this kind of story so much but there were still something here that annoyed me:

    • MC repeatedly mentioned that orgFL and orgML's matters weren't her business but she still gossiped about them from time to time, quite contradictory with her earlier apathetic words.
    • MC's golden finger wasn't fleshed out much. If not for the occasional mention of spring water, maybe I would think that MC forgot about having a space.
    • There were so many characters introduced by the author but not many were properly developed.
But overall, this story was still enjoyable to read although sometimes, it felt a bit boring too.

4.4 it's almost good as back to sixties.. But it more relaxed, and the setting is more Cinderella type (welth x poor) their play is average, not that mystical, and she also the type that not use her golden finger soo much, but somehow in some scene o dialogue I sense an contradiction, she as someone who take science rute in college exam didn't had common sense in some of science knowledge, I find it a bit ood but overall it's still ok to read
